Five star food! Five star service! The fact that this hidden gem is located in an old train car never gets old! The dining room is always a pleasure to visit. I really enjoyed my Com Sa Mi Da Ramen; it was a mix of spicy and sweet. The broth was flavorful and vegetables were fresh. I wished they added more bean sprouts, but overall the vegetables complemented the broth well. Chicken was also tender and poached egg was good. Shoyu broth was okay. The more we drank the soup, the more we got tired of it. Overall, they had interesting selection of ramen. But, there was no appetizer except for maybe cucumber salad and ssam (stuffed lettuce). They seemed to have a variety of alcoholic drinks. Service was REALLY slow. There were only two servers working on a Friday evening and they didn't check in on us until it was time for a bill. Where we sat was a little dark and hallways were narrow. read more

One of my favorite authentic ramen places in the Twin Cities. I always recommend this place to friends and family.

I found this to be a bit disappointing but the space itself is very cool and unique. It's a train car and it's very nicely decorated inside. The first thing I noticed about the ramen was that it had carrots in it which was a little jarring since that's not an ingredient in ramen and it definitely impacted the flavor of the broth. It made it taste more like chicken noodle soup than the rich salty shoyu broth it should've been. The toppings were also disappointing, with only green onions, black sesame seeds, and a few bean sprouts. More bean sprouts and other toppings like menma, corn, or nori would've been preferable. The noodles were better than other ramen places in Minnesota with a nice chew that wasn't overly firm or artificially yellow like most places here. I'm not sure I would come here again especially given the price range of $16-$24 for a single bowl of ramen. read more

My favorite ramen spot! First off this place is in an old train car which is super cool. It's small but nice with a unique environment. Service is always super helpful and informative. We have tried their ramen, apps and drinks and enjoyed them all. Seating areas are small but you don't feel like you are sitting right on top of others so it has never bothered me. Group dinner with close family friends during our first ever visit. Menu had interesting range of ramen flavors. I was slightly disappointed in the taste of my ramen broth, especially at the price of $20. The restaurant layout and location is unique as it is in what used to be a train. read more

Tori could be so much better than it is. The space itself is absolutely fantastic. It's a converted train car of some sort beautifully decorated on the inside. Warm and inviting with a nice bar on once side and the main dining room on the other. Unfortunately service and food were subpar. Our server was cold and seemed frazzled most of the time. The one thing we loved food-wise was the appetizer. It was a curry potato which was delicious. My NA drink was just ok. It was labeled an old fashioned but wasn't served like one. Very very mild flavor that tasted like flavored sparkling water. The ramen was disappointing. I got the Korean ramen. The broth was just not that good. Too heavy and too much kimchi. Chicken was the first ingredient on the menu for this ramen but there was barely any in the bowl and what was there was not high quality. For $20 ramen you expect more. Wife got the salted duck ramen for $22 and it was the same story there. Broth was not good and barely any duck. She liked all the herbs it was served with on top. Took a good long while to get our check even though they had people waiting for tables. Got charged a credit card service fee which I wouldn't have minded if I actually used a credit card. However, I used a debit card which charges minimal transaction fees. All very disappointing for a place we were excited to come to. read more

I think it's worth starting with - I am not a ramen person but this place may have changed my perspective! I had the Korean bowl - chicken, sesame seeds, it was all phenomenal! There was so much flavor and it wasn't too spicy. I was able to take leftovers home and I swear it was even better the next day. They also have an option where you can purchase additional noodles. The cocktail options here were quite fun and I had an orange cream rum drink that reminded me of a creamsicle. The ambiance of this place is so cozy especially on a cold night. It's a place we'll definitely come back to! read more

The best ramen in Minnesota and it doesn't cost a fortune! The Dra(MN) is the favorite of me and my family and is jam packed with flavor and heat. The street car couldn't be any cuter and the service is... fine. Nothing spectacular but not terrible. LOL. They don't give you ice water, but will supply ice upon request. The appetizers are worth trying as well. The Korean cucumbers are a fave and the newer "egg snacks" are a delicious bite, but at $4 per egg (2 halves), that's a one time purchase for me. It does inspire me to top my homemade hard boiled eggs with chili crisp, furikake, and fresh dill though! Yum! read more

3.5/5. Super cute re-purposed cable car, with good vibes and aesthetics inside. Not traditional Japanese ramen, but not bad. They had some Korean dishes that looked interesting, as well as chili crisp which is more Chinese/Taiwanese. The service was friendly, though not very fast. Regarding the food, there was a lot of stuff in this ramen. I ordered the miso, which came with noodles that had a nice chew, a hearty helping of chicken, a cold soft boiled egg, green onion, another green - maybe bokchoi, a little corn, and lots of soggy bonito flakes. I wasn't a fan of the bonito flakes not because I don't like them, but because there was just too much of it. I felt that the broth was alright. My friends ordered the miso with random vegetables and the shoyu with random vegetables. They enjoyed it! The random vegetables this time around included carrot and wood ear mushrooms. Overall, a good place for happy hour. They had discounted drinks, appetizers, and $5 off some of their ramen. read more

The service from Autumn was excellent, and there was a cool vibe. All four of my companions enjoyed their ramen. I ordered the Bali ramen, and it was disappointing. It was edible, but pretty much flavorless. I would not recommend it. I would like to go back to the restaurant and try something else, at some point. read more

My husband and I have been to Tori a few times and the food had never disappoint us. The Korean duck ramen I believe it was called was delicious! Appetizers were good (we got the cucumbers and a fried chicken). Drinks were pretty and tasty also (we also had an espresso martinis which was perfect). Cute atmosphere but because during the summer they have na open concept just expect some flies. Service was attentive and friendly. The espresso martini wasn't on the menu but they made it for us anyways. They explained the menu and items we asked about thoroughly. No complaints, love this place! read more

Was so excited to see you when the restaurant posted hours because we have been trying to go here for a bit! The experience of being in an old train car is so cool!! The Ramen was absolutely delicious with noodle noodles that are a little bit thicker than other Ramen places. I also tried their strawberry lemonade and thought it was delicious. We will definitely be returning again and would love to see it in the summer when the garage doors are open. read more

We love the place. The ramen is outrageous. The people are generally great--generally.

Who doesn't love Ramen on a cold rainy Minnesota day?! Well, this place REALLY hit the spot! For it being a small and cozy spot, the flavors of these dishes were huge! We had to wait a bit to be seated, but its understandable as the establishment is small. The place is very nice inside and gives you a real lounge vibe which i love. Our drinks were really good and had to cool ingredients. You have to love craft cocktails, right!? My Ramen dish called the Dra(MN) was SO DAMN GOOD! It was the broth combination of three other Ramen dishes they serve and damn, it was epic! I drank and ate everything from that bowl. Overall, this is an awesome Ramen spot to enjoy on a date night or simply, to escape Minnesotas wild weather -Anthony read more

Cream of chicken noodle soup is where it's at. This will be my only ramen place I go to in town from now on and has a standing in my list of all time favorite places. I always go with a spicy ramen here so I was worried the chicken soup would be too bland so I ordered a side of chili oil just in case. Boy was I wrong. The flavor punch in this dish is beyond anything I can describe in words. The piece of chicken tasted like bacon. The umami is strong. Can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Admittedly it does take a long time to get seated and receive your food here so be prepared, but in my mind it's totally worth it because it's some of the most flavorful ramen I've ever had. The restaurant is in a box car which is really cute and cozy. read more

I'm not much of an authority on ramen. I'm very much Team Pho in the non-existent war between Pho and Ramen. All of those exotic, bitter Asian vegetables, along with chicken pieces that are shaped like Maryland, these things throw me a little bit. But on an autumnal September evening I found myself thinking about how good some ramen would go down, and this place proved me right. I got a very nicely-made chicken noodle ramen that was exactly what I was hoping for. What really makes Tori easy to recommend, though, is the atmosphere. They made this urban noodle joint out of an old railcar and outfitted it with cute furniture, bar seating, dim lighting, and authentic living greenery. Between all that coziness and the chummy service, it's hard to imagine a more pleasant casual eating & drinking environment. read more

Not what it used to be. Was hot as hell when we showed up. Poor air circulation and the place smelled a bit weird. Service was disjointed had to ask for water a few times, two different servers brought us menus? Food was ok, noodles tasted different from the past and overall flavors just lacked authenticity and brightness. Not sure what has changed but something has. This place is worth the hype. The ramen truly was delicious. They have a rotating seasonal menu, and I could tell even just from our server that everybody who works here is passionate about food. The place itself is in an old train car, which truly is not overhyped. It's a gorgeous setting, and was worth the trek across the River for me! They have gluten free noodles available upon request too, which is always a big piece for me. I had the miso ramen, which was rich in flavor and SO creamy. I wished I had eaten it slower so I could have saved enough to have the next day, but I was enjoying it so much I didn't even consider it until it was too late and I had eaten most of my ramen! read more

Ordered the chicken noodle, but I'm not confident it was chicken. I strongly suspect it was duck or old. There wasn't much meat at all and it was in the thinnest slivers imaginable. The soup was warm not hot. The vegetables weren't fresh. It had a warmed in the microwave vibe. The service was okay, but the restaurant was cold, many folks kept their coats on. The bathrooms need a good deep cleaning. The whole place does tbh. read more

Really great service and unique environment in a rail car however it gets very dark and I couldn't see my Ramen. My husband had the Korean - good have used a little more chicken. They were kind enough to accommodate a vegan version of the Fire shoyu which had good spices and heat but broth was not as good as anticipated. Bowls are large but were chipped. Drinks were good. read more

The vegetarian Ramen here was amazing. It's hard to find places that make Ramen with actual flavorful vegetarian broth, but this place does exactly that. This place is super cool. The vibes are amazing. It's in an old rail car, but very modern inside! The kids $6 portions for chicken noodle is a great value! My husband and I stopped at Tori with about 60 minutes to burn before Curling one night. We were drawn in by the cute boxcar out front and had no idea it was a Ramen place or that the theme was Korean. But, we love both of those things, so we were delighted and found two stools at the bar. Our bartender was very helpful in understanding and navigating the menu and explained a few of his favorites. We ordered the Korean cucumbers and were really happy with the crunch of the pickle slices and shaved carrots and onions, as well as the portion that equated to basically a side salad. We also wanted to try one of the Ramen dishes, since we were curious about the fact that their broth is chicken based. We tried the Korean Ramen, and it was really delicious! The broth had flavors of sesame, soy, fresh herbs, and lemon and I could have eaten a large bowl of just that! It sounds like they might be starting a pizza format on Tuesdays, so we will definitely be back for the Ramen, and to check that out! read more

Tori is SO. GOOD. The restaurant itself is super cute; it's an old train car that has lots of natural light, plants everywhere, & comfortable seating. We came with a large group & the staff were super accommodating for all of us, including separating the check (which can be a really annoying ask). This was my second time coming; the first time, I got ramen (which was delicious). I wasn't as hungry this time, so I got the Korean Buttered Noodles. They were so creamy and delicious, obviously buttery, but with a lovely gochujang bit of spice. I didn't love the (not sure what they were & I forgot to take a picture of the menu) "red hairs" that were topping the dish, since they had the mouthfeel of literal hairs. When I reheated my leftovers, though, I mixed them throughout and that made them less offensive lol. I also ordered the Little Bird, which is their spin on a margarita. Due to some confusion (really on my friend's part, since she grabbed the first cocktail that came out), I ended up with the Dirty Bird instead, which I believe is the same drink but with mezcal and blueberry. The drink was tasty for sure; my only complaint is that the small ice cubes & no straw make it difficult to get the last little bit of the cocktails. Our server was great overall; like I said, I really appreciate how thoughtful & accommodating they were for our large group. My only complaint was the time it took to actually get my cocktail. It ended up coming after my food, after I'd asked about its whereabouts. Definitely just a bit of confusion, but fully understandable. I would highly recommend Tori, it's a perfect winter/spring warmer :) read more

Really good cocktails, and ambiance. Good date spot. I had the DraMa ramen and the ingredients were good but the broth was too salty and oily for my taste. I was really excited when Tori moved back into Saint Paul. I love the "train" style restaurant on West 7th. The last few times we've gone, the ramen has been excellent. It's not typical ramen, as it is more creative. The last time we went back, however, the ramen was super oily (e.g., it had too much chili oil was put on top). Next time, I would just request that they hold off on the oil. Otherwise, excellent tea, customer service, food, and ambience. read more

I'm going to rate 4-stars just because there were a few things a little off and I hope the owner takes them to heart. As a restaurant, this place has work to do with organizing seating, communication between front of house and the back, and not chastising employees in front of customers. Also as others have noted, air circulation could also be improved, when it's cold out, it's steamy inside without great ventilation. I genuinely would like them to address these because the food they are serving is very good, the drinks are great, and the ambiance is very cool. My wife had the Korean and I had the Salted Duck ramen. These aren't traditional Japanese ramens to be sure, but don't let that stop you from checking them out. All the ingredients are top notch, the aromatics are off the charts, and the depth of flavor is on point. The cook on all the ingredients demonstrates a good level of mastery and attention to detail. I would say that I could do with less herbs in the soup or have them served off to the side Pho style, so I can add them as I like, getting them free of the noodles so you don't eat them is tough - at some point it becomes overwhelming. I'll also warn others, the Salted Duck is very salt forward, bordering too much. I would get it again however; the broth's flavor is amazing, rich, and the duck itself was cooked perfectly. The portion sizes are generous and the menu is varied - I'm interested in coming back for the eclectic offerings. I will say that it does fit a different niche than a traditional ramen joint, it's a little better for folks looking for an experimental/experiential deal that's maybe a good date night option. For folks looking for simple and cheap, this isn't it, but don't let that stop you from checking it out. read more

Then cucumbers that came with the chicken were probably my favorite thing. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly, I don't think I care much for the sauce. I'm only giving two stars because my husband liked his com saw mi da ramen and the chicken was cooked great. We waited a long time to order. We waited a long time for our food to come out. We never got refills on water. It was not busy when we arrived-sat-ordered. It was already a red flag that they don't give you soup spoons here which is bizarre for a ramen spot. And that the soft boiled eggs are not marinated at all - that is so unlike soft boiled eggs in ramen. Most of all, my $22 salted duck ramen was the blandest ramen I've ever had, and I only had maybe 4 pieces of meat. So disappointing. I'm hoping I just made a bad choice but I'm not sure I would come back anyway. read more
