Normally I would never write a review for a basic apartment repair, but Chim Chim Cheroo really goes above and beyond to make sure they address the issues they are contracted to fix. I recently submitted a request to my property manager for a dryer that takes four hours to dry clothes, and they contracted Chim Chim Cheroo to come clean out the vent. Chim Chim Cheroo called to confirm my appointment time, and let me know an even narrower window of when they expect to be there (which is awesome, because then I don't need to spend all day waiting around on appliance repair). I called them back to let them know that I'm not sure if it's the dryer vent or another issue, and they proceeded to do detailed troubleshooting with me via text to determine if their services were going to be a waste of money or if there was actually something they could do to help me. I called because we just moved into a new house with a kiva fireplace. This is our first operational fireplace so I wanted it inspected and cleaned. Curtis and another guy came out the next day after I called and were very professional. They thoroughly cleaned and inspected my fireplace and installed a spark catcher on the chimney. We scheduled with this chimney cleaning service last year instead of our usual chimney cleaners for reasons I can't remember. We were having an issue with a smoking fireplace. The tech arrived on time, was polite and professional in his demeanor but did not perform a complete chimney inspection and gave me somewhat of a blow-off explanation that my chimney was probably smoking "because the fireplace has too much ash in it." Having owned fireplaces which we use daily for 50 years, I did not think this was the problem, however decided not to argue. Two weeks later I had to have the service return to do an actual chimney inspection as we still had a smoke issue. On this visit, the tech actually went up and looked at the chimney cap (after being firmly prompted by me) and although he did not admit to finding an issue with the cap, he did replace it, after which we had no further issues with the fireplace smoking. I'm giving two stars for being superficially polite and somewhat professional and one star for eventually fixing the problem and deducting two stars for using the tiresome ploy of blaming the issue on some quibble with the homeowner's housekeeping. This is getting to be a more frequent occurrence in my opinion and it's just disrespectful. read more

We moved into a house with a fireplace from the 50's. The fireplace has missing grout and loose bricks plus a nice black layer of build up. I was able to schedule the inspection within 2 weeks of reaching out for a quote. After the inspection they Determined that the fire place needed some new grout and to re-adhere some bricks and add a bit of insulation to some gaps. I was really impressed They were able to squeeze us in right before Christmas so we could have our Christmas fire. It was hard finding a company that would service our area and provide deep cleanings. Chim Chim Cheroo was easy to deal with to schedule. The service was completed quickly and with no mess left in my home. The entire fireplace was thoroughly cleaned, and the logs were taken out and individually cleaned. Curtis took the time to answer our questions. I appreciate him teaching my family how the fireplace should function and things to look out for. This company provides cleanings only and refers you out if you need service/parts. Now my fireplace looks new and no longer dusty. There is a service charge for cleanings out of their normal service area. However, I think it's worth it, and the fee was comparable to other companies coming out far to Pinal county. read more
