Matt was amazing. We had him come out to clean our dryer vent. He discovered that the vent was cracked and jammed up and we had lint all over within our walls. He knew somebody who could handle the entire job (including drywall work) and the guy was to our house within an hour and between these two, the problem will be completely solved and fixed tomorrow. Not only did Matt solve our problem (and couldn't have been nicer), but he discovered a major fire hazard that could have turned ugly! Thanks Matt - you're the best! read more

We have used Northstar like 4 times. He's very passionate about what he does and worries about fire safety when it comes to dryers. Many home fires are caused by lint buildup in the dryer, dryer vents etc. The first house we had him check, our vent was in bad shape. So many corner turns and screws sticking into the vent, there was tons of lint. Very scary. He made sure it was lint free in every way. Our current home, he's been here twice, both times no issues. I have recommended him numerous times over the years. He also vacuums the inside of your dryer to clean out all the lint inside your dryer. My only frown this time was the dryer hose came off the dryer and hubby can't get it back on. We need minor appliance work done on our washer and fridge so we'll have that person take care of it. read more

Matthew Brown, the owner, is awesome. I had been having trouble and an appliance company gave me the recommendation. He showed up at his ETA. Immediately he got down to business and he discovered the problem; the vent had never been cleaned and was installed improperly with a crushed hose. Matt took videos to show me. I totally could see the problem. The cost was fair for all the work he did to clean the mess and gave me a recommendation to have the vent repiped. read more

Update: I told by Matt at the time of service that he thought my vent came apart in the attic, so he wouldn't continue the cleaning, but I paid him in full. He recommended his friend who was a handyman to come look at it and repair it. He told me that it could be quite involved, that he thought maybe part of the vent was round and part was square, and he said that lint was probably blowing in my attic, which could cause an attic fire. I was told the repair could be up to $1000. I had a contractor friend come over to assess the situation and nothing was wrong with the vent. He put a new vent in for me since the other was older. I feel like I was taken advantage of because I'm a female and I'm sure he gets a kick back from his friend. read more

I have used him before and continues to improve his technic. He takes many pictures to show you before and after. Also takes pride in what he does and shows some of his past experiences. He was here 3 hrs. Have him show you the video of water in the vent. You can go fishing in there. Nut on some of the bad cases he has seen over his 17 years of doing this. Please spread the word about him and also the fire risk of not servicing it. Benjamin Giguere read more

Did you know? Because I didn't know I was supposed to clean the dryer vent until my dryer quit working one day. Matthew was recommend by Brett S. From the Appliance Works. I contacted Matthew via Yelp app and let me tell you he is professional and courteous over the app and ever more so in person. He contacted me the day before to reconfirm our appointment. He contacted me a couple of times on the day to keep me informed of his arrival time. Once he arrived, he explained to me in details that even I could understand easily. When he went up the roof, he took pictures to show before and after. In the end, he said I don't need to clean for next 2 years. If he wanted to make more money, he could have just said annual cleaning required but he was honest. Professional, courteous, honest, are three words to describe Matthew's business. Thank you Brett S from Appliance Works for recommending Matthew's company. read more

My tenant complained about how the clothes dryer was not working well. And suspected the vent was clogged. I found Matt online and scheduled a vent cleaning. I had no idea how much junk can be stuck in a vent. Matt took his time and explained every step to me. This is a multi-step procedure. Mat was up and down the roof clearing the vent a few times. Using various size brushes. Taking care not to damage the ductwork. I'm impressed with the quality of work provided. I can highly recommend Matt with Northstar. - Rick Mauch read more

Northstar Dryer Vent Cleaning - This is a photo of the stuff sucked out of my dryer vent. Matt did a great job cleaning my dryer vent. - Fire Protection Services Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Our dryer was not working properly. While under warranty still we had diagnostics done and were told everything checks out we must have a vent clog. Hired a different company to clean vents but dryer still was not working properly. After some research found Northstar and let Matt know what was going on. After cleaning lint inside, he got up on the roof and realized the pipe fitting on the roof had been painted shut! He fixed that and cleaned up just a handful of lint that had backed up behind it. He showed me how great the air flow was and provided photos and videos. So happy we found Northstar and will use them from now on. His prices are on point and the service was excellent. read more

We had a repairman come to check our washing machine. After diagnosing the problem and a recommendation that it would be cheaper to buy a new washer, we were advised it might be a good idea to have our vent cleaned as well. He recommended Northstar Dryer Vent Cleaning. After having the new washer/dryer installed, we got a error code on the new dryer that the vent was not working correctly. From the first contact with Matt, the owner, I was impressed with the responsiveness from him. He came out after explaining what was needed and what to expect. He cleaned our vent pipe and checked the dryer hose. When we saw what he cleaned out, we were very happy to have had it done. Fire averted! Very good price! Thank you, Matt, for a job well done.
