Nov 2022. Update. Needed a quick fix for our fire pit. A mouse had excavated a lot of sand covering all the nozzles on our brass flame ring and stuffed it silly. Completely clogged where there was zero flame. Desert Custom came out, took it apart, cleared the sand and debris and we are back to flame thrower status on the fire pit! Fantastic. Im so happy they were able to come out so quickly too as we have Thanksgiving company that I would like to keep in the backyard for at least part of the day, lol. Our gas fireplace would not start up this winter. I called Desert Custom Fireplace and spoke to Robert. He scheduled Anthony for two days later. Anthony arrived on time, was very careful in setting up to make sure he didn't get anything on the floor, and very politely walked through the process of checking out the igniter box. What a delightful experience and we got very useful information. It turned out to be dust on the igniter connections which it turns out is pretty common. However, Anthony stayed and made sure everything was working smoothly. Desert Custom Fireplace doesn't do new installations or new construction but does do heavy duty fireplace screens. We had Anthony come back and we ordered the new heavy weight custom made fireplace screen and new facing. read more

Desert custom fireplace doors were super responsive, came within 2 days, exactly at the time they promised. We had a clogged chimney (at least 15 years that it was not cleaned, probably never since the house was built.) The technician on the job did an amazing job. He was clean (not easy when you sweep a clogged chimney into a living room), courteous, and efficient. After he left we didn't even need to clean the area. It was all as clean as it was before he worked on the fireplace. And, the fireplace works perfectly now. No more smoke in the house! read more

Tech who came to our home diagnosed a bad gas valve. Never sent the promised estimate to replace it. Second company, one that is certified to work on gas appliances, diagnosed problem--all we needed was a simple air purge. Gas valve does not need replaced. Robert's company did not diagnose the problem, and charged me for it. If I had trusted them I would have ended up buying an expensive valve, paying to install it, but still not fixing the issue. I have since learned that this company is "new" to the service business. Indeed. I am sure they sell nice doors, but my experience is that they are not qualified to do even a simple diagnosis. read more
