Chili's is what I call our ''fail safe'' and that is when Hubby and I want to go out for Dinner yet can't decide where to go we often end up here. That's not a bad thing, the food and service is actually very decent and the menu is varied enough that if I still want something relatively healthy (Mango Chile Chicken) while Hubby wants something completely different (Taco's or Rib's) it's possible. The recent refit is a huge improvement on it's previous state, gone are those nasty mosaic tile table tops and in it's place are nice modern wooden ones. Everything seems open, bright and more importantly clean. I don't know if it's just that the cooks here are better or there has been a change in standards but compared to another Chili's we used to frequent while living in San Mateo the food here is better. *** 3 stars because it's a chain restaurant *** The majority of the low stars I've read about Chili's are complaints about everything from customer service to long wait times, but not too many of the reviews addresses the entire experience. I can understand a low rating for a totality of issues in a single visit, but to put a place on blast just because of a delayed wait time or getting blue cheese instead of ranch dressing is just nuts people. This was my first time at Chili's and I gotta say, my experience was pretty frickin' good. I arrived around 6:30 pm and ran into a wait line which was outside the door. When I finally made it inside and asked for a table for six, I was warned the wait time was approximately 30 to 45 minutes. No problem I said, I'll sit at the bar and wait. Service at the bar was exceptional. The bartender (Jesse) was "on it." A great personality and an outstanding host. While sipping on my beer, I decided to look around a bit. The restaurant was crazy jammed packed. The decor, typical. The ambiance was a bit better than Denny's, but the restrooms were surprisingly nice and clean. When it came time to order my food, I went with Jesse's recommendation. I ordered their Buffalo Chicken Salad with buffalo sauce on the side. For the record. Jesse was on the money with his recommendation. The salad was out of sight. Hot pieces of buffalo chicken strips laid over the top of cold salad. All of which was garnished with real bacon bits, crumbled blue and feta cheeses and a mixture of veggies. Talk about a fire and ice combo. This salad was the shizzle. Came here for dinner with the family. The fajitas were hot, my El Niño margarita was strong, and our server Ashley was super attentive and accommodating. She kindly sat us at a booth in an area that was closed so that my entire family would fit. Service was great! My husbands steak was ordered well and came out medium. We sent it back and it came out well with cold and hard sides. Listen, when a plate is sent back correct the mistake and send the plate out with fresh sides. Don't be lazy. If you wouldn't eat it, don't expect your customers to either. This effects return business and at times the server's gratuity. I asked for no black beans, extra rice and no Pico or salsa. I got black beans, half the rice, pico in the black beans and salsa on the plate. Read the ticket, care about the customers patronizing your business. This makes it really hard to return to Tracy Chili's. I can go to the Livermore Chili's and get better service from the kitchen there. This place literally sucks so bad. We ordered online and decided to do curbside to pick our food up. You'd think with an online order they would be able to read the order correctly, wrong. The kids menu ordered was the burger slider. It wasn't even built like a mini slider. The buns and meat were literally spread around in the container. Another order we had was the honey chipotle chicken crispers and for dip we put honey mustard and an extra side, they gave us ranch. Happily surprised with this Chili's service. Unfortunately, service at restaurants in Tracy is not always the best, but Hannah was very attentive and took ownership for her tables. If you have been to a Chili's the food is not a 5 star restaurant but it is good. And if you want to sit in the bar and enjoy some bar food and football games it is a good place to go (Lots of TVs with multiple games). We ordered some appetizers and drinks. I love that it is always Happy Hour when football is on! The Blueberry Pineapple Margarita was delicious, quite large and only $6 on the happy hour menu. We ordered a triple dipper sampler. Everything was good, but the wings were unfortunately cold. We told Hannah and she apologized and offered to bring us new ones. I felt she handled it very professionally. I know things like this happen so I am not going to drop my review a bunch of stars because of it. I've always had great experiences when coming to this particular Chili's. We got in and out. Our server Sean was great and very attentive. Made great conversation without being corny or annoying. Our food was great and these were items that we order all of the time. The black beans and broccoli were to die for. (Don't judge me). The drinks weren't watered down. The on duty runner Vlad was also very great! He made sure our food was great when he set it at our table, Came back to check on us, and also asked follow up questions about extra food choices we may have wanted before he left us. Horrible experience.... I use to look forward to my Friday dinner at Chili's. The food takes so long to come out that it is cold when it arrived. Corn on the cob was not even cooked. My wife ordered a steak, broccoli and loaded mashed and the steak was purple inside and the broccoli and mash were cold. I've been to this location multiple times since it opened in Tracy a few years ago, and the food and service doesn't disappoint. I love ordering their chips and salsa whenever I go here. The chips are thin and very crispy with a hint of salt; and the salsa (I think) is the best! It's kind of runny instead of chunky, but it has so much flavor. So make sure to order chips and salsa when you go! Whenever I go here, I usually order from the 2 for $20 menu. So basically you and your friend can choose an appetizer to share and then each choose an entree from the list. The list has grown since they first opened. I usually order the sirloin steak with loaded mashed potatoes, or if I feel like being healthy, I choose the veggies as a side instead. When my family and I went here last night, I decided to try the Bacon Cheeseburger, since I was in the mood for one, and to my surprise, it was very delicious!! The bun was my favorite part, because it was fluffy, soft, crunchy around the ends, and thick & spongy -- usually buns are soggy and really thin at other places. The meat was also very juicy and the bacon was cooked crispy and not oily. I enjoyed every bite of it! I also ordered a side of fries to go with it, which was a decent amount. My family and I are 50/50 on dining in and ordering carryout. This time, we opted to order carryout. My sister and her husband opted to go with their usual. For her, it was one of the quesadillas, and for him one of the enchiladas. I tend to alternate between enchiladas, nachos, and a burger. this time I decided to try something different. I decided to try the loaded baked potato soup (yum!) and the 6 oz. Classic Sirloin with Grilled Avocado. My dish SMELLED amazing. It's really hard to go wrong with garlic or tomatoes. The combination verges on perfection. It tasted pretty good too. The streak was cooked to rare perfection, exactly as ordered. It was also the perfect size. I ate 1/2 then and had some for my breakfast omelet the next day. The veggies tasted as good as they looked (and smelled).. My soup, which was packaged in a very thoughtful way for easy reheating, was delicious. The combo of potato, bacon, and green onion was homey and delicious. At the rate they disappeared, the enchilada and quesadilla were both equally good. Service at the window was good. the food was being packaged when I arrived, so the wait was short. We still needed to zap things at home to get the right temperature, but that's a small price to pay for the convenience.
