The hostess was friendly, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed; perfect for kicking back while listening to some classic oldies. Prices are reasonable, which makes it even more enjoyable. If I had one suggestion, it would be to expand the food menu a bit. My husband and I tried the nachos they were a little on the salty side, but after a couple of drinks, they definitely hit the spot We've visited twice so far, and each time the staff has been incredibly welcoming. My wife and I decided to check out The Hangar MHT for the first time, and unfortunately the experience was a mixed bag. The place wasn't crowded at all -- probably less than 15 people total including us -- so we expected service to move fairly smoothly. Our server, a younger lady with tattoos, was actually great. Very pleasant, attentive, and clearly doing her best. She was the only server working and was constantly running around delivering food, checking on tables, and following up on our order. We made sure to tip her well because she honestly deserved it. We ordered two specialty drinks that were highlighted on the bar board along with loaded fries. The fries came out first, but the drinks took about 20 minutes. During that time, it was pretty obvious the bartender was more focused on chatting with regulars than making drinks, despite the restaurant being slow. There was also an older woman who appeared to possibly be the owner or manager. She spent most of the time socializing with another nearby table. Our server checked on our drinks multiple times, but they still hadn't even been started. Eventually, the older woman brought our drinks over with the typical "sorry for the wait," but it honestly felt very insincere and dismissive, like we were more of an interruption than customers. Things got even more awkward later. We were still eating our loaded fries when the older woman came by, pointed at the plate, and asked, "You don't like it?" My wife and I looked at each other confused because we were literally still eating. I responded, "Oh, we're still working on it," and she replied, "Well it's gonna get cold." It honestly felt less like hospitality and more like getting lectured by a grandma at Thanksgiving dinner. For two mixed drinks and one appetizer, the bill was over $50. Again, our waitress was the bright spot of the experience and the only person who made us feel genuinely welcomed. First impressions matter for any business, and while the place has potential, the customer experience -- especially from management/bar staff -- really needs improvement. read more

Ordered a house salad (to split) and they didn't have the dressing it came with, which was disappointing. Tried a few others and was not a fan of them. Ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich for my meal. I did order without the aoli because I love the heat and sweet from the hot honey. However, it was extremely minimal and couldn't taste. The chicken was mostly the crispy batter and very little chicken, which was also disappointing. It comes with an Asian pear slaw. When I first ordered this I was excited because of the hot honey and this slaw sounded good (and I hate cole slaw). However as you can see by the photo there isn't much. Very disappointing for $25! Wall of beers, ciders, wine, and margaritas wasn't to bad. Price seemed high to me, but what we had was good. Service was good, just waited a very long time for the check. Has a few TVs up which would be good for a game. I know this location is newer but being out of items with a small menu is not a good look! Might give it one more try, we will see. read more

I visited specifically for their espresso martinis and when I chose a different drink it was also out, which were recommended to me, but neither was available. The food, however, missed the mark. Portions were small, prices were high, and the meat tasted microwaved. For what they charge, the quality just wasn't there. We stopped in here last Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded (just before dinner hour). Our server was very friendly and attentive. There were a few items on the menu that they were out of already (it was before 5pm). We ordered the nachos and the BBQ chicken flatbread. Nachos were great, the chips had the perfect blend of crispy & thickness! We enjoyed the flatbread as well, nice amount of kick! The margaritas were an excellent pour as well. One Star removed for length of time it took for our meal to come out, especially as the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. We will visit again though when in the area! read more

The service was terribly slow. Waited 20 min to just order appetizers and cocktails. Then we decided we better order dinner at the same time. Ordered smash burgers for 3 of us. And a steak sandwich for 1. Took 1/2 hour to get food. Then only 2 smash burgers arrived. We started eating and the last dinner was not delivered until we were completely through eating. Not acceptable. Not blaming the server. She was the only one waiting tables for the whole restaurant while 3 others stood behind the bar doing absolutely nothing. The food was decent. Giving 2 stars for the fact that the staff were friendly and attentive. We were excited to try this place and were terribly disappointed in the food quality. The prices are very high, so we expected the food to be upper class as well. We tried the barbacoa nachos, hot chicken sandwich with garlic truffle fries and smash burger. The nachos were just ok, but the meat is more of a pot roast and makes everything soggy. It also overpowers all other flavors of the nachos. The chicken sandwich was basically all breading and over fried. Seems like they pounded a small filet and then cut it in half and fried it. It was more breading than any chicken. The only flavor present was the one pickle and all other flavors lost in the sawdust of the missing chicken patty. The fries are large and lacking, didn't taste any truffle and the triple baked method results in a stale, overcooked tasting fry that evaporates in your mouth. The smash burger lacked any seasoning and just didn't have any flavor. 2 entrees, no drink and a app was $107 with tip. We won't be going here again. read more

I was excited to try out this new place in our very own city but I have to say, it was a big letdown. We came here yesterday (1/3/26) on a Sunday, around 4:15 pm. There were probably about 15 people in there so perfect timing before the Niners game was on. They just opened at 4 that day. I didn't catch our server's name because she never introduced herself and it took a while (maybe 15 mins) from the moment we sat down for her to come back to get our orders. And as I mentioned there were only 15 people in there and some were just at the bar. So service-wise, very mediocre. Food-wise: nothing phenomenal to report. We ordered for appetizers the trice fried fries - it was ok. I was expecting a trice fried price to be crispy because...it's trice fried. But this one is just like regular fries. One review here said it came with pink sauce, ours didn't (see pic). We also got the pepperoni flatbread and again, it's just like any other flatbread that you can make yourself in the air fryer. The one thing that stood to me was that if you are serving finger foods that require basic sauces such as mayonnaise or ketchup, shouldn't you just have them readily available? We had to ask for ketchup which they gave in those little sauce cups and mind you we ordered dishes such as their smashed burgers with fries (again no ketchup served) and chicken fingers for my kid. When we asked for mayo, they said they have no mayo! NO MAYO?! I am mind blown. The server said they do have this garlic aioli sauce but she can only give us a few of it because it is what they use for their burgers and sandwiches. I did not even take any pictures of their smashed burgers or the chicken tenders because it's nothing special. I would like to Support them again but they need to Stop being cheap with their condiments. They don't even have the basics - ranch, mayo etc. not even salt and pepper on the table. I hope they do better because BJ's is just a few minutes drive and I would rather pay for the same price but get better food with condiments. read more

Since the prices are on the higher side, we were hoping for something a little more memorable. It also took about 30 minutes to receive our appetizers, which made the wait feel longer than expected. We had dinner for the first time at The Hangar and I was so impressed! Their chicken Caesar salad has the best homemade dressing. It was creamy with a nice lemon undertone. I added the chicken to it and found they give you a generous amount of perfectly cooked chicken breast. Their mile high margarita was beautifully done! It was so incredibly refreshing and perfectly flavored. Their nachos were amazing and my husband and I couldn't stop eating them. I may well be the first to review 'The Hangar' in Mountain House. I'll start by saying this town really needed a cozy spot like this to enjoy a beer or cocktail, along with some comfort food and TV's displaying sports! The Hangar has very much achieved this! In terms of our experience, we were greeted warmly by the hosts at the front, and led to our table in the middle of the restaurant. We were given waters very quickly, and then began to read the menu. Lots of good options; solid comfort food. I will say though that although our server was extremely sweet, our wait times to place our drink orders and receive our food were quite lengthy; I'd estimate maybe 15 minutes from being seated with waters to cocktail order placed, and maybe 25 minutes from food ordered to served at our table. And in terms of food, we only ordered regular fries and chicken wings. I'll chalk this up to opening night busy-ness, although The Hangar was only half full, when we were there around 7:30 PM. The French fries, priced at $12, were actually excellent and worth the steep price point; they are delivered with a delicious pink sauce (think thousand island adjacent), and the chicken wings we ordered were good. We actually enjoyed dipping the wings in the pink (thousand island-esque) sauce that came with our fries, and we found them very enjoyable that way. I ordered a smoked Old Fashioned, and my fiance' ordered the drink that I think was called Blue Skies. We both enjoyed our drinks, but I will say that the smoked Old fashioned was not really smoked, at least not in the traditional sense. Typically, a smoked old fashioned will be served with smoke wafting throughout the interior of the glass (above the bourbon), and a wood coaster of sorts trapping the smoke while it's being delivered to the table. At The Hangar, the drink was served with no visible smoke, but one of the servers informed me that a piece of wood (or something similar) is torched, and then the smoke is somehow transferred to the rim of the glass to give it a smoky flavor. I didn't totally understand it, and in my opinion, I couldn't really taste much smokiness, but the drink was good overall; hints of vanilla and orange came through nicely, as promised on the menu. Highlights of my meal: - Servers were very sweet and polite; gracious - Our server gave great recommendations - Water refills were fast and attentive - Fries are GOAT'ed. Worth the money. - Drinks - good overall; fair price at $14 each Cons: - Long wait times to order drinks and receive food - Pricy, but not exorbitant - There did seem to be some special guests (though not entirely surprising on opening night), and they seemed to congregate and were chatting, near our table, in the middle of the restaurant, for quite some time, with someone who appeared to (maybe?) be the Owner. Not disturbing per se, but not really creating the most comfortable ambiance either, being that we were within feet of them during this time. Overall, I give The Hangar 5 stars. Mountain House really needed a spot like this, and for opening night, they did a great job. We will return again soon! read more

We were hoping to like this place. Great concept and ambiance. When we arrived, we waited a while to be acknowledged. The waitress/hostess passed by us a couple times and didn't even make eye contact. When we were finally seated, she was kind. We decided to sit at the bar. As a woman, the first thing I look for when sitting at a bar is hooks underneath to put my purse on. They didn't have any. It would've been nice for a staff member to ask if we'd been there before or not so they could explain the "help yourself" concept. When I did ask about how it worked, I was told they would need my card. Hmmm, that didn't tell me how the line of taps worked. So instead, we ordered cocktails from the bar, an expresso martini & Peach Tea Punch. The martini was good, just not as strong as I'm used to. Very weak on the alcohol for a $15 drink. The Peach Tea Punch was not worth $15, it was about the size of a shot & barely any alcohol. We ordered the Barbadian Nachos and Smash burger. The Smash burger was good, but not worth $27. Very small. The truffle fries was good. I ate over 1/2 of the Smash burger & we still didn't receive the nachos yet. We finally asked about them and the bartender was nice enough to check on it. The meat was a good proportion, but it was so bland. The whole thing had no flavor. The staff were friendly. Would we go back? I don't think so. If we did, maybe in 6-12 months. read more

Food was great and beer choices were good too. There are a few taps which are free and hopefully they will also get their share of beer soon. Customer Service was way above and beyond. I want to start by saying that the service coming from the host and our server was amazing. Quickly got our food and drinks and we were met with hospitality, that being said I gave 3 stars due to the overpriced menu. While although there are different options for different moods, in our experience the ingredients seemed cheap and my group collectively agreed the food was overpriced. The tap system is self-serve and Oz based pricing and although these self-serve systems can be fun, restaurants, like The Hangar, can over price their pours and at the same time pay less in labor costs, common business tactic used by bars. While the atmosphere does feel warm and inviting, and mountain house did need a cozy sports bar, there is no booths, the subtitles were not turned on. All TVs are on one wall. I bought the beer wristband, a cocktail, and a flatbread. The total was about 43$ after tip. And on the topic of tips, groups of 6 have an automatic 18% gratuity and a 20% tip if they feel you don't tip well enough (I did not experience this but it does say it on the menu) All in all, I would not return. Overpriced beer, mediocre food. The cocktail was tasty. read more
