Tried this place for the first time and got the burger and it was so delicious. I recommend it. There is 1 person that works the front and the kitchen together so it may take a minute to get the food but the wait is well worth it.. there is a patio with outside seating and a stage so I'm guessing they have live music too. Absolute hell of a time to be driving along a freeway bored, went in hearing about this place from so many of my +biker family and i was never around the area to stop by but after an amazing weekend at the camanche lake i decided to stop by finally on my way home and i couldn't have loved it more, the bartender was super dope very friendly and a jokester i love a fun bartender (i am on myself) tri dip au jus sand which was 10/10 so tender and juicy he gave use two dips so we didn't have to share one, not just for the sammich but for the nachos too, very mindful very demure! This place is a diamond in the rough. We were vending at an event this afternoon and found Mountain House Bar to have all the bells and whistles. From the nice outdoor patio to the rustic but quaint looking bar, one could tell there was history there that has been cherished. We loved the fig tree in the back and the lounge chairs with gas fire stove. Their owner was a nice guy! There is also ample parking and the drinks are perfectly priced. We will definitely return when looking for a venue or for having a low key date night. read more

What a hidden gem!! Word of mouth got us wanting to check out this place and so glad we did. From the outside it's a little rough looking but once inside it's awesome! Tad was the bartender for the evening and immediately greeted us, and shared some history of this very old bar from the 1800's. He let us try a couple beer samples to choose something new. We wandered the grounds out back where they hold concerts. Very well kept, not gonna lie though, it's the country and there were a few little critters but it almost added to the charm of this place! I've lived in MH for 12 years now, and I'm sad that I was missing out on this place this whole time. I finally got the guts to go and we went back to back 3 weekends. I couldn't believe such an amazing bar was around the corner. I can see us spend hours here with the kids out back. Mountain House Bar & Grill gives me the nostalgia of being back at a Texas Ice House. Cold beers, plenty of space outdoors to chill and they serve a good cheeseburger. I haven't ventured past that. They advertise activ, like a Paint Nite, Cinco-di-Mayo taco eating contest and karaoke! My one complaint is they do not keep consistent hours! Mountain House Bar predates the eponymous town that grows nearby to the east, however it has grown to serve its populace. The restaurant has a Taco Thursday, popular with local families, that serves $1 tacos made to order. (For an adult six tacos makes a meal.) During weekdays, they serve breakfast burritos and coffee for local morning commuters. I have partaken in both Taco Thursday and morning breakfasts and have enjoyed them immensely. Regarding ambiance, the Mountain House Bar has a true Biergarten in the back with tables, trees, swings, and horseshoes. It's a comfortable environment, large enough (and fenced off) such that the kids can run about on Taco Thursday without worry. Service during Taco Thursday is mixed, with the employees at times becoming overwhelmed by patrons. This leads to inconsistencies in the wait time to place an order and receive food. It is important as a patron during this time to appreciate this authentic experience, rewarding the owners with the patience they deserve. All in all, I recommend this establishment whole heartedly to new locals and those passing through. read more

I have been passing the bar countless times during my two months long stay with my parents in Tracy. Finally today I stopped by and fell in love. It is such a good place with good people. What impressed me the most was the peaceful feeling with the trees that kept a great shade over the yard in the back. The food was great (although I do wish they'd serve wine!!) and parents can bring their children here to have time together. This place serves only beer to make sure children can experience this hidden spot. It is an oasis in the area :) If you pass by it and have some free time, pull over and be a part of the place :) I will definitely go back there on Sunday for the jam sessions. read more

Mountain House Bar is a nice place for Bikers and families alike. On the face this sounds like an unlikely combination at best. And yet this is exactly what Mountain House Bar is. Taco Thursdays are not to be missed. Bite size 1.00 $ tacos here are really good. Really the perfect bar food as they make you want a cold one. The pool table is coin-op and certainly not the worst table I've ever played on. Sometimes the bar has events that fill the parking lot and line the streets for a mile in each direction. They have a little outdoor stage and bands play. It's fun. Overall it's a great place to hang out if you are a Biker or a Soccer Mom / Dad. See you there. read more

A true biker bar. They serve some sandwiches here to compliment the bar. The back yard is amazing with a live band area set below a patio area. They had a band going on Sunday when I stopped here. A perfect compliment to a cold beer after a long ride. A little but out of the way, which is both an appealing trait and a a slight negative, depending on who you ask.
