if I could give less then one star I would. This is in regards to a meal from last night 06/22/16.
We attended a birthday dinner for our friends son that started at 7:30. There were about 20 of us, there were only 3 families when we got there, but there would be 6 different families total, so we asked before ordering for separate checks. We were told, no problem, you can separate at the end of the meal on the kiosks... that should have been our first clue. I am not going to talk about everyone else's experience with ordering, just my own (even though it was a mess). We started out with one waitress, and once everyone was ready to order, ended up with two. That should have been our second clue. i ordered for my family, including my kids who were sitting at the other end of the table, 2 for $20 for them, a chicken fajita quesadilla for me and a Steak dinner for my husband...I had an ice tea, he had water (tap, gross) and the kids had kid drinks. I asked for the kids appetizer to come to the adult side of the table. Other people order after me us....but got their appetizer first. I waited for a good 15 minutes before inquiring, the waitress said it had already been brought out and pointed at my friends... uhm, no, that was for THEIR 2 for $20, I haven't gotten mine. she goes back to the kitchen and brings ours out, luckily it was still warm. Food starts coming out, I was thankful that my kids got their meals first, that usually never happens but that was the high point of the meal. They bring me a faijita quesadilla with substituted steak...(blank stare), no I'm sorry I got the chicken...ohhhh they say and take it back. Everyone else's food comes out...but three, they head back to the kitchen. We assumed to get the rest...but no. Next out comes my quesadilla, only now, it's a bacon ranch chicken quesidilla...but whatever, it's close and I'm hungry. Still no food for the others. We wait. and Wait....apparently there was a mix up and there food was entered and put on hold, everyones sorry..."it's cooking right now"...they finally got their food, but it was rushed, and overdone, but they were men and they were hungry so they ate it.
Now comes to the bill. it was almost 9 by the time we decided to start looking at the check. Which somehow was showing on the kiosk under 3 bills, not 6 and those 3 were all confused and mixed up. They offer to print them out, turns out 4 were on one, and the other ones were wrong, for something small I think. The manager apologized and offered to comp a few meals since our bills were jumbled and some of the food was late, I'm not sure which ones, but none of mine. So they take the kiosk and say they'll print out a receipt. I start to go through the one that has 4 families and put numbers 1-4 next to each of the families items for them to break out into individual family bills. family 5's bill has some issues so they're hanging out waiting for their comps, family 6's bill is fine and they take off :) Lucky...
The manager then brings me back my bill, but now there are some comps taken off which was nice, but she had ADDED family 5's bill onto it, so now there are 5 families orders consolodated onto one.....so I had to go through again, oh and I should mention the damn steak quesidilla is now back ON the bill, even though no one ordered or ate it.
needless to say, it took over an hour for us to break the bills apart...we didn't leave until almost 10. I had to send my husband and children home ahead of me so they could take showers and get to bed......it was a nightmare. I understand parties of 20 can be hard. I get that.....but honestly, how hard is it to separate the orders when I have them NUMBERED by family name?? And after all of that, I didn't complain once about eating the meal that I didn't order, that was late because they had to take back the first meal that I didn't order....and then the waitress got flustered with me for doing their job trying to make it easier for her...and I think she was surprised I didn't leave a tip.
I will never. EVER. EVER EVER. come to Chili's again. read more
