Was craving some Mexican food and chose this spot at its one of the few sit down Mexicans spots I was able to find. We came in on a Friday and it was packed. Luckily we snagged a table before a wait started to form. My husband and I ordered the combo plate. I got mine with chile relleno and enchilada and my husband got the combo with enchilada, burrito, and taco and both came with rice and beans. I thought for the price, it was pretty decent and I enjoyed being able to have two different items and the combo versus just an entire plate of enchiladas, for example. I absolutely loved my chile relleno and my husband said his taco was delicious. The food was great but definitely Tex-Mex style versus more traditional Mexican food, but good nonetheless. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The inside had lots of cute Christmas decor as well. Food came out quickly and hot. Overall, will definitely be back!

This used to be a cajun broil place and is owned by the same owner as Cabrillo Cafe a couple doors down. The interior is more spacious than it seems from outside and has a huge full bar and a nice industrial decor. Service is great and you'll find family members working here, the drinks came quickly and they checked in occasionally but did not hover. My wife prefers restaurant style Mexican and I like taqueria or food truck style but I can still find good things to order here. Asada Tacos Plate: Comes with rice and beans and a huge amount of guacamole and sour cream. I'm too used to these with onions and cilantro and should have ordered them on the side. The tacos were also larger than I'm used to and the Asada was cut much larger. Enchilada: My wife loves rice and beans and always looks tests them as a sign of quality. They are very good here, especially the beans. She finished the whole plate which is really rare. Kids Cheeseburger and fries: I had a bite of the burger and it was beefy and well grilled, fries were good too. The dish I was excited to see was Super Fries but I would not order them again. They use small fries that easily become soggy and it was a too oily with a layer of grease on the bottom.

This whole time I've been in the area for coffee and didn't realize this was here. It's in the corner of the shopping center. Plenty of parking. I went with a friend because she mentioned that the chef from La Casita works there. Food is great. Service is great. Bathroom is nice, big, and clean. I went again on my own and sat at the bar. I honestly love it because the bartender recognized I just wanted to eat and enjoy the food. He took my order, came by once just to check on me, and it was great. I will definitely be back to try more items in their menu.

My experience here is not one that makes me wanna come back. My mom and I wanted to try something new so we stumbled upon this Tex Mex restaurant which took over a previous seafood boil spot we enjoyed years ago. We enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa here, but the entrees were not great. Both the Roy Special and Tilapia Ranchero were super short of flavor. I had to douse everything in hot sauce. The chicken breast in the Roy Special was quite dry. Over $20 for some not-so-great tasting food, definitely not the best feeling! Portions are really big so I'll give them that. Service was good at first, but it seemed like we were getting ignored later in into the dine. Place itself was very country-bar like. Good amount of seating and possibly a good spot to watch the game.

Last night, we had dinner @ this spot. It was decked out in holiday decorations & lights. Loved it!!! We were seated right away which is always a plus in my book. Chips & salsa=delish!!! I ordered a crunchy taco& cheese enchilada plate w/ refried beans, no rice. Food came out piping hot!!! The shredded beef taco-soooo amazing!!! One of the best I've had!!! It was the star of the plate!!! The enchilada was nice & cheesy!!! And the refried beans= soooo good!!! I always judge a Mexican restaurant based on their salsa, refried beans, & if they use white cheese & this spot nailed it!!!

I was feeling adventurous so I decided to give this place a shot and I'm so happy I did. We went on a Saturday evening and we were seated right away. The theme of the decor inside the restaurant matched the name of the restaurant which was pretty cool. The service staff were extremely attentive and friendly. In terms of food, my wife said her taco salad was one of the best she's ever had. The only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars is the chips and salsa. The chips were obviously bought in bulk and not made in house. The salsa was too liquidy and didn't have the burst of flavor that I was really looking for. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant and I will be back.

El Rodeo is the heart of Fremont. All the life long locals know this place. You can come in any night and see someone you know. Hands down the best service in the city, the family who operates El Rodeo treats you like family. They care, they have their hearts in the right place! If you know you know! BEST food hands down in this city, the Top Shelf Burrito is the king of local burritos. My favorite dish is the camarones al rodeo, OMG the sauce is fantastic! (If you like spicy) They make it daily! The Nachos are always a fan favorite! Flavor from the top to the bottom of the menu is there! The only thing I can really say is you need to try for yourself! The vibe inside is very mellow, TVs have the game on and the 360 of the restaurant will take you back to when life was easy. The old west vibe. Also, the margaritas are amazing! My favorite place in a city where you feel like every place you go, is just get you in and out with no concern if you truly left happy. We always leave happy!

Fremont Restaurant Week! I happened to be dogsitting in Fremont this week and had to support my old neighborhood, especially now that I'm in Hayward and only come to Fremont every so often. I ordered a carnitas chimichanga and my bf got the carne asada plate. DELICIOUS. Literally, no complaints from me. I like my burritos pretty plain so meat, cheese, rice, and beans is right up my alley. And deep fried?! Would definitely order again. Was surprised it was pretty quiet on a Sunday evening but definitely not complaining since service was super quick. Got sat down immediately and got our food within 10 mins or so while we were still munching on our free chips and salsa. Hope to be back again soon!

The drinks are Stiff and delicious! Great selection of booze to choose from . Normal wait time for food But the wait people were right on top of it with chips and salsa. Food came out extremely HOT!! I'm OLD SCHOOL and that was such a pleasure to have happen." Cold food ruins great times"... Also, the place has a nice warm Mex-Rodeo vibe goin on which we both enjoyed very much. We will be back....

    Enchilada and flautas

First time visit. I'm a little confused in the ambiance maybe cuz I'm a Californian don't typically see this type of decore. There is a large bar and lots of tables. You can tell it is a local hangout with the numerous people hanging at the bar. The service was good. They noticed we were first timers and gave us a complimentary small late of pulled beef super nachos, chips, and salsa too. I had the carnitas flautas and beef enchilada plate? Or vice versa as they only pulled beef for the enchiladas or the flautas. The flautas was home made as you can see the toothpicks hole when they fry it. I thought it was a bit dry. The enchilada had a good flavor and moist. For $19.95, I thought a little bit expensive. Friend had the seafood burrito. It was huge. Also tried huevos ranchero, sad to say found some sort of hard piece of what looks like plastic in the plate. We debated on exactly what it was and only thing we agreed was it was not edible. In the end stick with the lunch menu. You can try numerous different things for a good price. The food is ok but for us not special enough for the drive as there are a few other places with comparable food closer to us.

Food: very good portion and flavors! We ordered a Top shelf burrito and their Roy Special. The burrito fillings are flavorful and nice amount of meat; the Roy Special won't disappoint you just like they say! The chicken is grilled tender and goes super well with the chili. Service: it's a little busy during lunch and they have many group customers. They are nice and helpful. Ambiance: Midwestern style of interior design. Suitable for family and friends gathering.

This Mexican restaurant has average food. I ordered the enchiladas and it was ok, not great. I don't think I'll be coming back.

They offer plenty on their menu and have special deals too. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Service was okay. Not many people dining in but a lot of pick up orders. The sopes: Got 2 carnitas sopes and the meat was perfect. Soft but with a slight crisp and the flavor was all there. Plenty of cheese that caused a nice cheese pull. The steak nachos: They use shredded mozzarella but I don't think it was enough. A lot of the chips were bare and the ones that had it were dried out. The guac and sour cream balanced it out. The tacos: We got asada, chicken, and buche. Your average yellow tortilla perfectly oiled and heated up. I do feel like they skimped on the amount of meat they put on the asada tacos and the quality of the meat wasn't the best as there was a lot of fatty pieces. The winning meat was definitely the buche. It was fried just right and had a lot of flavor. The chicken was also very well seasoned and juicy. The green salsa was superior to the red salsa. It had a good heat level that wasn't overpowering like the red one. I appreciated that they added the pickled veggies on the side. Overall, a solid taco and sope spot. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

These tacos absolutely hit. However.... the wait. Taco Tuesday apparently activates some sort of time vortex. To-go orders routinely take 45 minutes to an hour, and dine-in isn't much better. You'll place your order, age emotionally, maybe grow a beard, and then BOOM tacos. Worth it? Usually. Efficient? Absolutely not. Outside of Taco Tuesday, prices jump fast. Case in point: $9 for 8 oz of guacamole. It's good guac, but at that price I half expect it to come with a tiny mariachi band or at least whisper affirmations while I eat it.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.
