I've been quite hearing much about this Mexican restaurant. It's a very small place that is adjacent to a convenient store where you can just simply walk through it. Clearly wall separating them. I wanted to try horchata, but unfortunately they don't have it now, which made me have to get a drink from a convenient store next door. Anyways, I wanted to try their quesadillas with birria, which has to be one of the best meats when it comes to Mexican food. Honestly, it's really good. There doesn't seem to be much cheese after it was cooked, but naturally it happens. Also, the sides slightly didn't have meat but that's fine. I also like how we were given salsa, sour cream, and guacamole as sides. They also discount totcha by applying 50% off every Thursday and of course, Taco Tuesdays ($2 for each taco)! Gotta try their tacos soon. I also want to try their burritos too. Hopefully, when I get back, I get a chance to get horchata because I heard from many people that it's really good!

Taco Tuesdays AND Totcho Thursdays?! Tacos Chidos will have you feasting all week long! Tacos Chidos, a bright newcomer to the Mexican food scene, makes its splash in the heart of the automall district in Fremont. Located within the gas station convenience shop, it's easy to miss but you'll seek this place out if you're hankering for a meal to feed you for the day. The convenience of this spot is bested by no other as you're just a block from the highway, across the street from shops, cafes, and entertainment (movie theater), and smack dab in a gas station for your refill of the week. As you step foot through the convenience store doors, your senses will be overstimulated with all the colors and items for sale right up in your view. After scanning the shop, you'll notice Tacos Chidos on the right with their food stand, menu and advertisement signs, and drink stations. Get in line and figure out what you're going to get out of burritos, quesadillas, tacos, nachos and totchos (tater tots). Their burritos are big and can be wrapped in your choice of tortilla (I opted for the spinach). You'll go down the line with the staff to fill it up with the ingredients you want (you'll have choice of protein, beans, rice, vegetables, cheese, and salsa). For tacos, you can opt to have the tortillas fried a bit for the birria style before loading them up. Something unique is that they have dedicated taco takeout boxes that will keep your precious beauties upright as you travel. Very good idea for on the go consumption! I'd imagine the rest of the menu items are similarly constructed with the protein (carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, chicken and birria) and other ingredients. The portions are fair and the ingredients taste delicious! To quench your thirst, consider grabbing one of their horchatas. They come loaded with ice but the medium side was pretty big. It has the perfect hint of sweetness for me. For folks looking to dine in, they do have tables and chairs available that are naturally lit from the large windows. It's very casual given that it's shared dining space for those just looking to rest while their cars are getting filled up. The staff were friendly and efficient with their service. Aside from preparing your food and packing it up, there wasn't much interaction. You bus your own table and clean up after yourself but I'd imagine they'll occasionally wipe tables clean for the next patrons. Overall, Tacos Chidos gives the bigger chains a run for their money by offering convenience and specials (discounts on Tuesdays and Thursdays). The food is all pre-cooked but packaged up at the time of order; during peak times, you'll notice the staff cooking up new batches to keep up with the demand. The prices are reasonable compared to competitors in the area and the value is on par. I've heard they'll be starting a mobile food truck soon so that will certainly up the convenience factor for many. When a full belly is an immediate desire, Tacos Chidos is up for hire!

I was very surprised at the location. It's literally inside a gas station quick mart so the vibes were already tainted with the fact that it was literally inside and to the right of the Loop gas station food mart. Nevertheless I decided to try the food anyways. The service was not the best but the food was pretty mid. I tried the 3 for $10 tacos and horchata. The birria and asada tacos tasted amazing and the Pastor tacos were not good. The horchata was also mid so don't waste your money on it. Overall I think you should set everything aside and if you're really craving some affordable and decent tacos or burrito give it a try!

This is a nice little spot located inside a gas station. Staff are friendly and they have a salsa bar with both spicy and mild salsas available. Tacos Chidos has a good location for travelers and locals. They offer seating indoor with beautiful colorful art. The food was a 6/10 for me but I feel I am always looking for authentic Mexican food and it was not giving me that from my burrito and jamaica agua fresca.

We never had tater tot nachos before and we didn't know it was gonna be like that! We loved the breakfast burrito and my mom enjoyed the flan. Highly recommend a visit on Thursday especially for their half off tachos. Also this is located in the Loop which totally exceeded expectations! Shout out to the manager Spencer and his team spending time with us on Christmas Eve.

At first I was skeptical about this place since it was linked with a gas station but my friends and I wanted to give it a chance and we didn't regret it one bit ! We had the Tacos, Super burrito, Super Totchos, Tres Leches, Flan, Horchata, and Jamaica. I would say the best thing is definitely the Totchos, or the tator tot nachos. Never would I have thought this combination was so well put together and i enjoyed every bite. We definitely prefer this over regular nachos now. Service was excellent ! This place is newly opened so I didn't expect too much but the staff was super friendly and patient with what you no matter how long you take to decide. The workers there said they will be getting birria tacos within the next few months so we are coming back for that and definitely for the Totchos!

I visited Tacos Chidos last week and it was way better than expected! It's located at the Loop Gas Station which is also way nicer than you'd expect a gas station to be. The place is really clean and well kept. We tried: -Totchos con todo -Burrito -Quesadilla con todo -Carne Asada Taco -Al Pastor Taco -Chicken taco -Flan dessert -Tres Leches dessert -Horchata drink -Jamaica drink My favourites were the quesadilla, Burrito, and Al Pastor Taco. The meats in all three of these dishes were seasoned perfectly and the red sauce they give on the side was veryy nice and spicy The Flan was also amazing, I would definitely go back just for the Flan! It was nice and creamy and not too sweet at all. The Horchata & Jamaica were also really good and they give you a good size. My least favorites were the Totchos and chicken taco. The tater tots could have been more crispy and so got soggy really quickly with all the toppings. The chicken taco could do with more seasoning and more toppings. I would have also appreciated plates and cutlery (even Paper plates & plastic knives would've been great). Everything is served in To-Go boxes, even though there's a lot of seating available for people sit and eat. Shout out to Jésus, the manager! He was so patient and nice to us and explained everything on the menu and the thought process behind some of their dishes. Overall this is a great place for quick, tasty food.

Absolutely obsessed with the salsa bar at this taqueria! The smoky salsas are just the right amount of heat. Every salsa tasted homemade and full of flavor, not watered down or overly salty. I loved that there were mild options for flavor lovers and fiery ones for spice fans, so everyone can customize their tacos exactly how they want. The salsa bar was clean, well-stocked, and clearly cared for, which made the experience even better. It honestly took the food to the next level and is reason enough to keep coming back!

Also the nice char on the grilled shrimp chavella. The bad: their carnitas although well flavored don't have those crispy edges they get when fried a little on the pork fat. You can tell they just stewed the pork then threw it in the tortilla which is fine but that last step separates ok carnitas from good carnitas. Also strange was the chilie verde enchiladas which came with red sauce on top. The server explained that they put the chilie verde in the enchilada but they don't have green enchilada sauce which seemed odd because there are other pics on here which have green sauce. Lastly our drinks came out after the meal they said it was because they had to grill the shrimp which I guess is good because it was freshly cooked but anywhere else I've been the drinks come first. About $100 total with taxes and tip for two dinners and two drinks which seems crazy to me but I guess that's pretty much standard everywhere you go these days. I'd recommend it overall.

The steak nachos: They use shredded mozzarella but I don't think it was enough. A lot of the chips were bare and the ones that had it were dried out. The guac and sour cream balanced it out. The tacos: We got asada, chicken, and buche. Your average yellow tortilla perfectly oiled and heated up. I do feel like they skimped on the amount of meat they put on the asada tacos and the quality of the meat wasn't the best as there was a lot of fatty pieces. The winning meat was definitely the buche. It was fried just right and had a lot of flavor. The chicken was also very well seasoned and juicy. The green salsa was superior to the red salsa. It had a good heat level that wasn't overpowering like the red one. I appreciated that they added the pickled veggies on the side. Overall, a solid taco and sope spot.
