    Asada tacos
    Romelia R.

As you enter you feel like you're at taco spot in Mexico with the metal tables and chairs and walls decorated with great quotes and souvenirs. They offer plenty on their menu and have special deals too. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Service was okay. Not many people dining in but a lot of pick up orders. The sopes: Got 2 carnitas sopes and the meat was perfect. Soft but with a slight crisp and the flavor was all there. Plenty of cheese that caused a nice cheese pull. The steak nachos: They use shredded mozzarella but I don't think it was enough. A lot of the chips were bare and the ones that had it were dried out. The guac and sour cream balanced it out. The tacos: We got asada, chicken, and buche. Your average yellow tortilla perfectly oiled and heated up. I do feel like they skimped on the amount of meat they put on the asada tacos and the quality of the meat wasn't the best as there was a lot of fatty pieces. The winning meat was definitely the buche. It was fried just right and had a lot of flavor. The chicken was also very well seasoned and juicy. The green salsa was superior to the red salsa. It had a good heat level that wasn't overpowering like the red one. I appreciated that they added the pickled veggies on the side. Overall, a solid taco and sope spot. I will definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Overall good food if you're hungry!! I used to love going here for their birria ramen, but haven't been in a while. I got their super nachos and the chips were half stale. The asada meat had so much fatty hard parts and was lacking flavor. And then throughout it had hard parts of cheese. Textures going crazy!! It was saved by the jalapeños and hot sauce, but even then it didn't satisfy my cravings. The birria taco was okay, the taco and consume didn't have a lot of bold flavors. (But that's just comparing to other spots I tried). This place definitely has potential to be better, it's good just wouldn't be my first choice.

This Mexican restaurant is close to my parents' place in UC. You can order to go and they have a seating area too. We ordered a regular steak burrito, it was a big serving. It was very flavorful! I recommend this place.

    Chicken quesadilla, nice uniform thickness

Clean and more modern interior, the menu is an interesting mix of traditional taqueria and more recent trends like birria tapatio ramen and a hot cheetoh burrito. We were late getting out of Saturday language school and I needed a fast meal for my oldest, I was craving Mexican and found Tacos Papo on Yelp. Birria Taco: With Consume and some pickled sides, a bit messy but tasted good. Chicken Quesadilla: This is probably the cleanest looking Quesidilla I've seen in a long time. It wasn't big and was uniformly thick, the charring on the tortilla was also very even. Kid loved it but he was also very huntry. Al Pastor Combo Plate: Rice was a bit dry, beans were OK. My wife loves a lot of vegetables so the overfilled onions and cilantro were great for her but its not for everyone. Asada Tacos: A decent asada, I really like their house made salsa, haven't tasted one like it before. Food was good but the total wait time for this pretty standard order was 50 minutes! At some point my kid was asking every couple minutes where the food was and I had to take my phone out and let him watch youtube to keep him entertained. Time we came was around 12:15 in a Saturday.

Good tacos. Good flavor through the variety of meats we got (carnitas, pastor, chicken, tripa, birria, asada). Decent salsa not rly spicy. Vampiro could be crispier imo and some of the tacos were a little greasy for me. Birria broth was clean but had no spice to it (no chilis). More like a plain beef broth with cilantro. Wish they put more meat for the quesabirria too Clean restaurant and bathrooms.

We walk up and there is a line. As we get closer we see 2 self order machines and a single person also taking orders. I opt to use the self order to cut the line waiting to order with a person. The self order menu wasn't that difficult to use. The place is large with lots of seating however I recommend to take the food to go as there was no AC. The place was so stuffy my friend got hot and dizzy. They have a good deal for tacos Tuesday. It is the only reason I went out. I had the birria, carne, and carnitas. They were all good. Think I may ask for no sauce next time to be able to taste the meat. Oh if you are in a rush, then don't come here. Food took forever. I got a text saying my order would be ready within 50 minutes. It didn't take 50 minutes but I did have to wait awhile.

There is plenty of seating inside and there are 2 kiosks to order as well as a cashier that can help you. This is a more casual establishment, but the ambience is nice. The cashier was friendly and helped give a few recommendations. The fish taco which was recommended wasn't bad, but I wasn't a fan of the shrimp taco. Neither of the seafood meats tastes fresh and the shrimp seemed like just batter with not much if any meat to it. The fish were like nuggets not something that looked fresh made. Neither of the seafood meats tastes was what I was expecting, but the fish one wasn't bad. If I come back I would try the birria which seems to be more of what they are known for. Lesson learned.

    Tacos to go

Driving in traffic, I started getting hungry and wanted to eat in the car on my way to Niles Canyon Road so I be off the side and walked into Tacos Papo. There was plenty of free parking and when I walked into the restaurant, it was super clean and I really like how it was decorated. The cashier was very nice when he was taking my order and answering my million questions. I accidentally walked in on a taco Tuesday which meant that tacos are half off!! I had a long ride ahead of me, so I ordered an asada taco, cabeza taco, and a pastor taco. I also ordered a Jamaica aguas fresca. I also requested a few of the spiciest hot sauce to go and I'm glad that I did. My absolute favorite was a Kearny Asada and I think the next time I go I'll get three Carne Asada's and try the medium spicy salsa.

This place has officially become our go-to taco spot. The space is clean and nicely decorated with simple, modern touches. The have self-service kiosks in the front so it was quick and easy to order. You can also call in to order for pick up. They have a great Taco Tuesday deal - $1.50 per taco and $2 for the more specialty meats, which is hard to beat. The food is consistently good. The burritos and platters are solid, but the real stars are the tacos. They even have great veggie tacos that are loaded with veggies, guac, sour cream and cheese. The meats on the meat tacos are well seasoned and stay juicy, which honestly don't need much more than salsa, onions, and cilantro. The taco salad was also surprisingly really good -- way bigger than expected and filled to the brim with toppings. The fried tortilla bowl stayed crispy and paired perfectly with everything inside. Overall, a great experience and I'm so glad to finally have a reliable taco spot to come back to!

My husband and I had a craving for tacos and a quick search led us to Tacos Papo. They're located in a small lot so parking is free and plentiful. The atmosphere is inviting and the restaurant is spacious. They have utensils and napkins off to the side along with a water dispenser which was appreciated. We opted for 3 tacos each and the flavors were good. I think if you're craving Mexican food then Tacos Papo is a solid option in the area.

Came here for the Taco Tuesday $1.50 tacos. Between two of us, we ordered 6 tacos (al pastor, carne asada, cabeza), horchata, and a modelo. Total came out to about $21. We initially sat in the back corner table, but soon realized it was the hottest area to sit at. There didn't seem to be any AC or circulating air. They would benefit from having some fans or something. Ended up moving to a different table near the door and it was noticeably cooler. It took almost 30 min. for our number to be called, so keep that in mind if you're coming on a Tuesday. Our plates came with radish, pickled carrots, and jalapeño. I was surprised the tacos already had salsa on top of them too, but we ended up asking for more. I'm a fan of spice and it was truly SPICY! Good thing we had some horchata. Our mouths were still on fire when we left lol. Tacos Papo is a solid Taco Tuesday spot and I'm sure we'll be back. I need to try the Hot Cheeto Burrito next time!

Not worth $16 for a breakfast burrito especially it being smaller than my pen. SMH

I've gone to Tacos Papos more than a handful of times in the past year and a half. Today I ordered a breakfast burrito. I was shock of the price increase. This is ridiculous. I paid $16.06 (w/tax incld.) for a breakfast burrito. This cost more than a regular burrito. SMH Several years ago - $7+ 2 years ago - $8+ March 2025 - $ 10.66 April 2025 - $13.50 TODAY - $14.50 I get that prices have gone up everywhere. Honestly, it's NO WORTH IT!!! Even the size was slightly bigger than my pen (see photo). Very disappointing!!!

I've heard many great things about this place, especially their birria. I was craving tacos, so I visited Tacos Papo on my way home. The inside was huge and spacious; the walls and interior looked modern and vibrant. I ordered through their kiosk; it was easy and faster. Service was quick; I got my order within 15 minutes. I ordered a Quesabirria and the 3 Taco Combo. The quesabirria was good, but the broth was bland; it needed more seasoning and aromatics. The tacos were delicious. The meat was tender and had great flavor. The taco combo had rice and beans, which I did not care for since the taste was unflavorful and dry. They also had generous portions. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Tacos Papa. I will come back again and try their birria ramen.

They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.

We have been loyal regulars here for a long time, coming at least once a week. Honestly, the main reason I kept coming back and always tipped well, even when the staff was sometimes just whatever, is because the guy who owns it is always so nice, friendly, and works incredibly hard. Unfortunately, his wife handled things tonight, and the service was absolutely horrible. We ordered a steak burrito, and let me tell you, the meat was completely inedible. It was just pure gristle in every single bite, to the point where we couldn't even chew it and only ate about a fourth of it. They also forgot to give us salsa with our chips. When we called to let them know about the meat, his wife started chopping up meat on her end, arguing with me, and insisting the food was perfectly fine and fresh. My wife, who is visibly 8 months pregnant, actually walked the burrito back into the restaurant just to show her the gristle. Because the lady said to bring it back show her. Instead of making it right or offering a simple switch for a chicken burrito like my wife had asked, she completely lacked empathy and flat-out said, "I can't remake your burrito." I called back to ask what could be done to fix this, and she started telling me to stop yelling at her. I wasn't yelling at all, my other baby was screaming in the background because my wife left the house to try and get the food fixed. She then hung up the phone on me. Apparently, she told my wife she even consulted her husband before refusing to fix it. It is so unfortunate that a business we supported weekly would treat regulars this way, but they have officially lost customers for life. The owner also said she was going to reply to me on here. Waiting for an explanation of how you turned away an 8 month pregnant lady?

Really great food and service Appreciate that the manager…read morelikes to keep order of people ordering from the front and then getting a table. She polices this and ensures that individual people are able to sit and eat their food rather than be forced to wait for a table or eat outside. Food came super fresh and salsa were fantastic

I finally tried Los Carnalitos yesterday! I remember seeing this place from FeedMeiMei's video (I…read morethink if I remember correctly). I've had this place bookmarked for a year now, and I went there yesterday at 10am to get some food to go. I was greeted by a lady there. She was friendly and complimented my dress. I got a Carne Asada Taco, Al Pastor Taco, and a Gringa. I asked if they had chips and salsa, but she said they do have salsa but no chips. That's different. I've never been to a Mexican spot that didn't have chips. The place looked clean and vibrant. There were plenty of parking in the plaza. There were plenty of seating as well. Maybe it was still early so no customers were there when I was there. After waiting for about 5 mins, she brought me my bag of food. She complimented my look and bid a good day. So sweet & nice! I enjoyed the food when I got home. Everything was very yummy! The meats along with the veggies were all super tasty. The green salsa had a nice kick to it. The cucumber (?) slices were refreshing. I think I found a new fave Mexican spot! Just need to get some chips from a store! Lol :)
