This place is a solid neighborhood spot, with friendly service. Not 5 star outstanding but they put out a consistently good product. My mother-in-law does love the chimichangas. And they have a $1.50 taco Tuesday special, best price in the Fremont area. They will also customize the taco salad to make it keto friendly for me. OK for dining in but we usually get takeout. They were so good that I can't even remember what my husband ordered! Or maybe I would have enjoyed the food more from the comfort of home as this is mainly a take-out place, and the eat-in atmosphere is pretty subpar. There is minimal decor, no real silverware, and a napkin dispenser on the wall. The tables were clean, but nothing really felt bright or welcoming. Mostly though, I just didn't enjoy my food. I found the chips to be basic and a little stale, my tostada burnt-tasting, and the ceviche not quite fresh. The shrimp cocktail I ordered was better and included 15 large shrimp which was quite a bargain, but they didn't have tons of flavor despite swimming in a large pool of salsa. Came here to visit a co-worker and we went to his go to spot for taco's. Actually pretty good! They have Taco Tuesdays here for $1.50 per!! That's insane, I'd just go here every Tuesdays.... that's cheaper than even making your own! They have an extensive menu as well, it's not small by any means. I got the CA burrito, but for some reason it had rice in it as well, but it was ok, not enough french fries but I'm guessing because there was rice in it. Taco Tuesday! Sitting at $1.50 a taco, this was a great value to feast on freshly made tacos with a variety of protein choices. Mr. Taco lives up to its name and serves up a feast of tacos everyday of the week but Tuesday is when it's time to load up! Tucked in a bustling mall shared by big chains and mom and pop shops, Mr. Taco offers indoor dining and takeout orders for a variety of Mexican staples in addition to tacos. If you're in the mood for burritos, they have an infamous "ginormous" burrito which claims to be twice as big as their super burrito. At $32, it's definitely a novelty for me but I suppose if you're looking for a food challenge, you've got one here! Quesadillas, tamales, nachos, breakfast items, Mexican specialties, birria (consome soup is extra cost), and tacos fill up their menu but keep your eyes peeled on advertisements posted on the walls and near the register highlighting their churros too. The churros are filled with cream and at $2 each, it's worth it compared to the ones you get at the amusement parks. The indoor seating is spacious and most patrons get takeout so it's pretty quiet. There is also a TV for some entertainment but since the food comes out quick and fresh, you probably won't stick around too long anyway. Despite the small kitchen and operation (there were only two cooks and one at the register), the meal was fulfilled efficiently and correctly. When the food was served, they offer you sauce (green, red, orange) and limes. Make sure to grab some if you get takeout! We ordered a bunch of their street tacos and they were each filled with a good helping of meat and topped with onions and cilantro. Served on small soft flour tortillas, these handheld bites will be gobbled up but wait a while between each one before you feel the fullness hit far beyond return. Overall, Mr. Taco is the place to go for Taco Tuesdays but for any other day, their extensive menu will be sure to satisfy any craving! The prices are great on Tuesdays and reasonable otherwise, the food is delicious, and the staff is friendly and fast. read more

We were so disappointed by this spot. We had heard good things about Taco Tuesdays but it didn't live up to the hype. I understand they are cheaper tacos but at least make them a street taco size instead of mini. Plus there was hardly any meat inside them. The tortillas were super soft and floppy and they barely had anything in them. I'd rather pay a little more for a regular size taco that has more than a couple pieces of meat. We came here for Taco Tuesday and ordered 6 tacos with carne asada. Few things that were wrong with how the order was prepared but that's a small issue so we'll skip those. Now for the important ones: - SALSA: No flavor at all! And I'm not even exaggerating. We got mild and Pico and both were super bland and watery. On top of this, they charge for them which is an insult because you're basically paying for water. - TORTILLA: barely heated/toasted -MEAT: also no flavor. Tasted like it was not marinated in anything at all and was just sauteed for the sake of cooking it. Granted there were no fatty or tough pieces, so that's the saving grace. Iguanas used to be here and that place was pretty good. Mr Taco WAS good when they started but maybe a change in management at some point and with the rising cost of everything, decided to cut corners. I understand that but if you want to stay in business, please prepare food the right way and with the right ingredients/flavoring so that you can retain customers which leads to longevity of your establishment. Having promotional offers like $1.50 tacos doesn't mean you can offer subpar food either. Will I come back? Delicious tacos here! And reasonable prices too. On Tuesdays they offer one dollar tacos that come with beef, onions, and cilantro. Not much flavor but good for $1, plus you can add sauce. The shrimp tacos here are super refreshing and filling. It comes with lettuce, pico de gallo, spicy queso sauce, and about 4-5 pieces of shrimp. If you don't like tomatoes, I don't recommend getting this taco because they load it with tomatoes. Perhaps you could ask for it without the tomatoes. Side note: you get to choose which salsas you want with your meal (three options). I got one of each! Social distanced signs everywhere. No tables or seats. Friendly staff, got here before they opened up at 10am, They Opened right on time. Super Carnitas Burrito & chicken quesadilla. Had to get to Oakland afterwards so couldn't wait for the fresh tortilla chips. She stated since the fryer was just turned on, it would take another 15 minutes. Had the chips before & they are yummy. Both wrapped in aluminum foil. The burrito was fine to eat in its wrapper. The quesadilla was a bit wet with its fresh guacamole, sour cream, grilled chicken juices so a to go container would of been nice. Would recommend this spot if you're close by! We used to stop by occasionally before the pandemic but since the pandemic started taco tuesday has become a weekly event in our house. $1 tacos (normally $1.50 which isn't bad), all meat varieties available. The pollo en salsa and chile verede is among our favorites. Sometimes I like to switch it up with a chorizo thrown in. Ask for extra pickled jalapenos and carrots. The main shining part.... the orange salsa! It is soo good, it's smokey with a bit of spice and adds to the tacos. The tacos are small (they are street tacos), I'd say for an average person order 6 and see if you need more or less from there. My regular spot was closing at 8 so I had to find another place and this place closes at 9. Sweet! Upon first glance, they are following social distancing guidelines. They are wearing masks, hand sanitizer is available, there's tape markings on the floor, and have 6 chairs (6 feet apart) for you to sit while you wait for your food. Restaurant itself is fairly clean. Even through my mask I can smell the food being cooked. Yum! I ordered a regular chicken burrito and a medium horchata for $12. Not bad, typical price. Horchata was a little too sweet and it did taste a bit watery...it was okay but did the job. When the cashier handed me my burrito it was HOT! When they hand it to you hot you know it's fresh. When I got home it was still super hot. It was a good sized burrito too. I took my first bite and I got a little bit of everything. NICE. Rice and beans were tasty. It also had some pico de gallo that was pretty spicy and was really fresh. You can see bits of onion and jalapeno and they were crunchy! Came across this place and decided to stop by for a taste. Ordered their chorizo with eggs, carne asada tacos and chicken fajitas. The tacos are really good. Their steak has no fat chewy pieces and well seasoned (I add salsa verde). Their chicken fajitas are a hit, a lot of grilled veggies with a lot of sides. The chorizo was okay (no a fan).
