Absolutely fell in love with this taco truck in Niles - a combination of words I never thought I'd ever say, but here we are! First of all, the value you get is crazy - less than $25 for 3 tacos (pastor, pollo, and carnitas), shrimp tostada, a jamaica agua, plus extra salsa and a jalapeño. All the meats were so flavorful and moist, and I've been dreaming about the shrimp tostada for days. I got there a little early for lunch time, which was great because there was a bit of a crowd that had come after me. Authentic, good, and cheap Mexican food is hard to come by in this area but I found this food truck on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It was solid! It has a nice spot right along Niles Blvd near Niles Ice Cream. There is plenty of parking and street parking on adjacent blocks. Tacos start at $3.50 and regular burritos start at $13. Cash or Zelle only. I opted for the chicken burrito and it was very good! Nice ratio of rice, beans, and meat. The natural sauce in the burrito had a mild kick to it (may be on the spicier side for some) and you can add more salsa for extra spice. Service was quick and it wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon. Stumbled upon Taco Negris while looking for tacos in the Fremont area and I couldn't be more grateful that I did. The tacos were so tasty that I went back 3x in a week LOL. My go-to has quickly become the asada tacos, which is priced fairly at $3 a taco. The taco truck is situated near a car wash, and while there isn't much available parking in the lot itself, there is plentiful street parking right nearby. The business accepts both cash and Zelle. Highly recommend a visit, especially if you're in a quick pinch and looking for yummy food to fill you up. read more

The Super Burrito with Asada, without rice, is always my go-to order here. No dry burrito here...it's savory, creamy, and hearty, and the flavors that come through always leave me wanting more. This used to be my go-to Mexican joint and a place I would always recommend if someone asked for an awesome taco truck. I ceased going to taco trucks and wanting Mexican food in general after moving to a town that has like 17 Mexican restaurants and the thought of Mexican food made me sick. However, recently, I had a massive craving but they seem to always be closed whenever I head that direction. I also heard through the grapevine that ownership has changed. Today, that changed and I finally was able to curve that craving! SERVICE: - Yes, the ownership changed. The truck used to be ran by two sweet ladies. Now, it is ran by two middle aged males. - I mean they are nice and repeats order verbatim per the two wonderful ladies. FOOD: - Super disappointing. - I always order a regular burrito with al pastor and everything. - I loved this truck so much because the burrito was not too wet and was filled with punches of immense flavor. - The meat used to be so juicy. Now the meat is dry like cardboard. - The rice used to be so naturally orange, so colorful, and super flavorful. Now the rice is flavorless and dry. - Hey the tortilla is nice and toasty. It was nice to have that crunch and burnt under taste. - Somehow you can no longer taste the pico de gallo. The onions are tasteless. The cilantro no longer shines. - Prices seem to be increased by $1 all around vs my last experience. AMBIANCE: - I love Niles. I love the homey town. I love the train. I love the antiques. Tacos Negris - Al Pastor Taco - Mexican Near Me - Fremont, California

I have actually tried Taco Negris twice. The first time I tried their food had an Al Pastor and a Carnitas taco. I thought the carnitas taco was outstanding, the tortilla was hot, soft, carnitas were hot, tender with just a slight crisp, flavorful and was so good it tasted great with just onions and cilantro. The Al Pastor was flavorful but a bit drier and could use some juicy pico de gallo or a really good salsa. Based upon the first trio I thought they were a solid 4.5 overall. The second trip I invited a friend and he ordered 5 tacos: a Lengua, a Shrimp, an Al Pastor and two Carnitas. I ordered 3 tacos and a Shrimp Tostada for my wife: an Al Pastor and two Carnitas tacos. I thought the overall taco was not as hot and the carnitas were a bit drier such that I could have used some really good salsa or pico de gallo so maybe 3.5 (3 for the Al Pastor and 4 for the carnitas) overall. My wife said the shrimp had no flavor but was okay (a 3). They asked if I wanted Mayo and I wasn't sure if my wife would want Mayo so I asked if they could put it on the side. They said they either put it on the shrimp or they don't. I'm not sure if maybe the Mayo had the seasoning/flavor so the tostada tasted plain. My friend thought his tacos were as follows: Carne Asada a 3, Lengua a 4, Shrimp a 4.5 and Carnitas a 5 so 4.3 overall. I would give it a solid 4 and will definitely try it again and hope the carnitas are as good as my first trip. Also, we'll try the Shrimp Tostada again but with the Mayo this time. Taco Negris might be a 4 on off days and a 5 on good days. Regardless of what kind of day they are having, overall they are a must try. read more

Taco truck located in the Town of Niles. The Jesus truck as some people say (there is a large portrait of Him on the truck). A bunch of reviewers rave about the shrimp & octopus tostada so I got one of those. Also got a pastor taco. Shrimp & octopus tostada: shrimp was melt-in-your mouth.....the octopus not so much. I get that octopus tends to be chewy but the chunks on the tostada were overly chewy (think rubber bands). It could've been better if the octopus was cut into smaller pieces. Eating the tostada was pretty much enjoying mainly the shrimp & avocado but when it came to an octopus chunk it was *chew chew chew*. The octopus had little flavor to it as well. Overall not sure if the tostada was really worth the 8 bucks. Pastor taco: not the most tender pastor I've had but its strong delicious smoky spicy flavor almost makes up for all of it. I enjoyed it overall. Would recommend. As I mentioned before, the truck is in the Town of Niles so it's not the most accessible food truck in the bay. If you're already planning to visit the Town of Niles then definitely check the Jesus taco truck out. I've seen this taco truck for years. Never tried the food until today. The truck itself is located on the south end of the Niles strip. Right in front of the do-it-yourself car wash and right beside the train depot. We tried quite a few things today: Fish ceviche tostada: Delicious! Just the right amount of lemon for acidity, fresh, finely chopped up fish, avocado, and red onion on top of a tostada that you can choose to have Mayo/no Mayo between the tostada and ceviche. Shrimp and octopus tostada: This was also raw (at least it tasted raw) but with the lemon and cocktail sauce on the side. Even with the lemon and cocktail sauce, it was a bit bland and the octopus was already rubbery before I put lemon on it. So, decided to make it into ceviche when I got home and let the shrimp sit in a bowl mixing it with lemon and cocktail sauce for a few minutes. So much better once it was ceviche-tized. This is an easy pass for me next time. Carnitas taco: Also, delicious! It's a small taco that packs a punch! The carnitas was perfectly cooked. Not oily like some other places. The meat was super tender and flavorful. Definitely getting this again! Super burrito w/ chorizo: This thing is huge! The husband really liked it. All the fixings including avocado and sour cream. 4.5 Stars, if you've ever been to Niles you've had to have seen the "Jesus Truck". Made it a point to return especially after seeing all the local-love this place gets. I got here at 10:30 today and there were already people waiting and ordering which is an awesome sign. The Shrimp and Octopus Cocktail/Ceviche is one of the best thing's I've eaten in awhile. 5/5. The "small" size can easily be divided with 3 people since it's HUGE and packed full of shrimp and octopus. They also give you half a pack of saltines and some tostada shells for dipping. There are nice big chunks of everything and teh lemon/lime juice was still bubbling after the 12 minute drive home. It tasted, clean, fresh, simple, and like the ocean. Highly recommend it for people into ceviche and if you've never had it it's like Mexican Sashimi. It's chilling in my refrigerator now and writing all this is making me want to go snack. The Shrimp and Cabeza Tacos were good, would get the shrimp again, the shrimp was well cooked and the sauce was great. I would rotate the Cabeza out for something else. It was super tender and well braised but would really like to get the fish on a friday. The Asada Super-burrito was OK, it was tasty but not as good as some other places. Asada itself didn't have the charcoal/fire grill taste since it's made on a griddle. The unique things w/ this burrito are the huge slices of avocado which were tasty and the use of refried beans. This is solely for their tacos. Located in Niles you can find the food truck directly across from Joe's corner where the car wash is! Each taco is $1.50 and I'm a carne asada girl and man these tacos were so delicious! Writing this makes me want to hop in the car and get some! LOL The carne asada itself were full of flavor and had a little crunch to it which I thoroughly enjoyed! This is hands down my go to taco truck! I have been coming here for almost 6 years and finally decided to review it. Their tacos are the most authentic in Fremont! They never have dry meat, and on fridays they have fish tacos! Their is usually a line to order, but after you order they make your food super fast! I love cheap prices for quality food, i could eat 5 tacos in one sitting they are so flavor-filled and juicy. The only downside is sometimes they close a little earlier than their hours suggest, but this only happened to me once. The other downside is it is cash only, but thats not a big deal for me either. Location is cool because it's in Niles right next to all the shopping and the park and what not. Negatives are that they're cash only, the meat in my taco was slightly overcooked (they were still great though), and I don't believe their prices were displayed on the menu (which can be annoying). Another review that I was super excited to write because my al pastor super burrito was to die for! I ate half of my burrito at the Niles park and saved the other half for dinner. For $6.50, you get a fully packed burrito. They definitely don't skimp out on you. It was a perfect amount of tortilla, cheese, beans, rice, al pastor meat, and avocados. Omg the avocados were so fresh and plentiful in my burrito. I got some for every bite I took! What's also awesome is that the burrito itself was delicious enough (the jalapeño just added that extra extra kick). Some burritos I have had taste pretty bland and I need to drown it in tapatio or other hot sauces for it to be somewhat satisfying, but this burrito was bursting with flavors! Lastly, you know the food is good when I can't even last an hour of not touching my leftovers, hahaha!! I wasn't even hungry, but I devoured the second half because I couldn't stop thinking about how good it was. I can honestly say that it was one of the best burritos I've ever had. Cash Only Truck Taco Negris is on the South end of Niles towards Fremont. It is in front of a car wash place and next to Federico's. When I approached the truck I got in line (four people ahead of me) and it seemed like the line wasn't moving and no one was taking orders, so I waited. After observing the process it seems that once you place your order and pay, they then work on your order, when your order is done they call your order. They then take the next customers order and vise versa. No complaints just thought I'd mention this in case you had the same thoughts. And so I ordered the shrimp burrito for $12, it was just the way I like it. I don't like when some places do a shrimp/onion/bell pepper type mix into the burrito, I just want my shrimp grilled and lightly seasoned which is exactly what I got from Taco Negris. Also, the price is great! In the past when I've tried to substitute meat for shrimp it ends up costing $17+ at some places. The burrito itself was great and on the side I got a whole jalapeño and some limes. This place may be a little out of the way for some as it is deep off Mission Blvd but if you are in the area I would highly recommend giving it a try. read more

Fresh mariscos We got the mix plate and some tacos and burritos. Everything was really good especially the seafood. It all tasted really fresh! Tacos were really flavorful street style and absolutely worth getting The shrimp super burrito was huge and really filling. I couldn't finish it which is really saying something. Flavors were really great but eat it quickly as it can get a little soggy toward the end. Mix plate was amazing I really loved the ceviche which was refreshing and bright. Very fresh! This is the 2nd attempt at coming here, it 4:46pm and I'm walking towards the truck and the woman that turns the sign around to "Closed" and rolls the window up! I'm aghast and the thought of "wtf!" echoes repeatedly over and over in my head. They have until 6pm. Okay, this place has now become my favorite place to get tacos. I'm a huge fan of cabeza and lengua tacos. Not many places make good cabeza or lengua tacos in the area. But this place OH MY GOD. Where do I even begin?! The cabeza and lengua were both juicy and flavorful! Also, the salsa that goes on top is amazing. Literally melt in your mouth tacos.
