Scammed place. I went to get tacos yesterday on Tuesday around 6:10 pm and bought 2 tacos. They charged me $9 dollars instead of $8 when it's 4 dollars each. It was my first time here and I didn't know there was no tax. I came back again the next day and I bought the same thing, 2 tacos and they charged me 8 dollars. I asked how much is it usually? And they said 8. Be careful. It looks like someone in the review also mentioned being scammed.

Great location colocated with freewheel brew in Fremont. Good thing is there is a a lot of parking since both open after hours for most places. Beer and Mexican food sound like a perfect partnership. There is a lot of outdoor seating and some of it is right next to a fire pit. You can get tacos and eat in the brewery and get beer and drink it outside. The two main things to note here are the carne asada was the best protein though some parts were cut too large and had too much gristle. They only take cash and Zelle and part of the hold up in line is how long it takes to make a Zelle payment so come prepared. Tacos: We got al pastor, asada, and cabeza. We like the al pastor more at the place near Target but the carne asada is very good here. Note if you "ask for everything" thy put guacamole in and prefer it with just onion and cilantro. Vampiro: like a normal one but they grilled the tortilla till it was almost like a tortilla chip and prefer it not so crispy. Tasted great and like the tacos it comes with onion, cilantro, and guacamole.

This spot is going viral and rightfully so. It's a little randomly located - right down the street from the Tesla factory(?). There's also a pretty long line on weekends but they make the food pretty fast once you order. Cash or Zelle only. Onto the food! I wasn't a huge fan of their vampiro - it was more hard than it was crispy and had a bit of staleness to it, however, the carne asada was incredible! You can tell it's been freshly grilled (as if the smoke everywhere isn't evidence lol) and it was super flavorful and juicy. I also tried their lengua and cabeza tacos. Cabeza was very tender and well seasoned, it was delicious and everything that I'd expect from a good cabeza. The lengua was ok - it was definitely on the watery side and my tortillas were falling apart from all the broth after the drive home. The flavor was good but not as great as the cabeza. The tacos are well constructed and my bf was very happy with the portion size of the burrito he ordered. They definitely don't skimp on the meat, which imo is very important in this economy. I also appreciated that their orange sauce packs a punch and is actually pretty spicy, so no notes from me there! I'm a salsa verde loyalist and theirs didn't disappoint either. Overall I'd highly recommend - it also shares the space with a brewery so the ambiance and vibes are there with plenty of seating.

Have seen this spot splashed all over social media, and after hearing that my best friend's co-worker said they were the best tacos in the Bay Area, I had to see for myself. Certainly the best tacos in Fremont, but I have to say the vampiro is my favorite item. Loved the fresh, hand-pressed corn tortillas and the mango-passionfruit agua fresca. All the meats I tried - carne asada, al pastor, and pollo - were seasoned well (might veer on the salty side, if you have a lighter palate) and grilled perfectly. Cash or Zelle. No Apple Pay or Venmo.

happen to stumble on this spot while driving through the back roads to get back home as I noticed there was a huge crowd here. I looked it up only to find it was La Humadera! I looked up their menu, prices, and reviews and they did not disappoint since all the reviews were great I had to pull up with the bestieeeee. We came and we conquered and ordered 1 of everything we wanted. IT was a really cold night when we came with tons of wind so make sure you are warm if you come here! They offer grilled onions and veggies and pickled veg! I loved everything we ordered. so happy we drove past and decided to check em out. soooo worth waiting in the cold as I loved it all and am a FAN! cant wait to get some more grub from La Humadera real soon!

They have a variety of meats and they're all pretty tasty. The carne asada has a perfect smoky char that sets it apart from your average taco truck. Handmade tortillas for the tacos. Prices are fair. They allow you to pack your own salsas, and everything tastes fresh and is made-to-order. It's a popular spot, so there might be a short wait. Cash or Zelle only!

I've started to crave the tacos from La Humadera. Love the al pastor, thick tortillas and the green avocado salsa. They're on the higher priced end for tacos, but I think they're worth it. Line and the wait can be long sometimes, especially Friday night. Love that I can go to Freewheel to grab a beer while I wait. Bring cash!

So glad I made my way around because La Humadera is definitely worth the social media hype. I appreciated their fresh corn tortillas and their salsas! I liked mixing 2 at a time for flavor. I usually am a die hard fan for salsa verde, but the flavor ended up being more mellowed out with how deliciously SPICY the orange salsa and creamy green salsa were! CASH OR ZELLE ONLY. NO VENMO. I liked having variety with my plate as the tacos come with guac, and quesatacos don't. Tostadas were skippable in my opinion. RECS: + Al pastor was smoky and delicious, and it's cooked on the trompo too! + Lengua paired nice with the quesataco, but I'm honestly not an expert on what good lengua tastes like PASS: + Carne asada was a bit dry and underseasoned

Not a taco truck, but more of a food stand that has an agreement with Freewheel Brewing Co. They are regularly in front of this local brewery in a business/industrial area. And more of an extensive operation where they'll set up worktables under a canopy, where a kitchen crew of 4-5 churn out Mexican street eats like a machine. I think they are only there in the evenings, as even the brewery doesn't open until 4:30 pm. They have a couple of tables across from their kitchen, but the brewery has tables inside their space, as well as outdoor patio furniture out by the entrance. But in what I've seen in a couple of visits, a lot of people just do take-out, drive in then out. And they are surprisingly busy, like a line of 10 or more can form at any time. And if a line does form, then your wait time will increase. I had 2 orders in front of me and it took about 10 minutes to get my food. I've heard reviews where 20-30 minute waits can be had. They make their own corn tortillas so that is a big draw for them. And they'll make various street foods with those tortillas. From Tijuana style tacos (slathered with loose guac), some items filled with cheese and meats and some even deep fried until crunchy. Their menu only list ingredients and prices, so if you don't know what a Mulita or Vampiro is, then you may have to ask the register dude. Cash and Venmo only. Tacos ($3.50/4*) They do Tijuana style tacos so they are street sized but topped heavily with thin guac, almost sauce like. They look small but they fill them pretty good, so you can get 4-5 bites per taco. Carne Asada: they grill their carne asada over an open charcoal grill, which is money. Since they set up their kitchen outdoors, they are able to pull this off. If they had to cook 'inside' of a truck, then they probably would have to grill on equipment ran on propane gas. I can taste the charcoal grilling, which is probably why they chose their name 'Humadera' which means smoker. But even tho with good grill flavor, their chopped beef still comes off as super plain and borderline blandish. They probably only season with salt, and I think they can be a little more bold/creative with these flavors. The guac sauce is just meh to me, more to moisten the tacos than to flavor. Al Pastor: on this taco I requested for no guac sauce, as I wanted to taste their pastor meat from a legit spit (trompo). The layered pork is nicely roasted then shaved into thickish strips. Great texture but again the pastor spicing is definitely on the light side. A great taco for me is if it doesn't really need salsa, but the salsa can be used to elevate it further. Imo I think their tacos 'need' one of their salsas. Now their salsas are pretty damn good. They have 2 green ones, one being their medium burn. Their hottest one is a pureed cooked tomato one, so it is smooth and quite orange. That one has a good heat to it, probably cooked serranos. They also have huge containers on ice next to their salsas that have sliced cucs, radishes and lime wedges. And with every order they'll give ya small paper plate with grilled serrano chilis and whole grilled pearl onions with the skin on still. I felt that was a super nice touch to their presentation. Quesabirria ($5/4*) They form the corn tortilla for this slightly bigger than for the tacos. Just white melty cheese and very soft and shredded birria. The flavors were great, basically Mexican pot roast in quesadilla form. I just wished the tortillas were grilled to some crispness, at least some edges. This was completely soft and mushy. So soft that I didn't want to dip it into the small cup of broth. But after tasting that broth, not salty nor greasy but quite beefy, I just added cilantro and onions to it and just drank it like soup. I was so legit, that I just couldn't waste it. So with decent beers from next door, I found this to be a legit option for Mexican eats in this town. Even though not conventional sit-down, still worked for me. Worthy of a repeat.

Tijuana style tacos with chicken & pastor

I'm a sucker for a Tijuana-style taco, so when these popped up on my IG, I had to give them a try. Right away, I noticed a passion fruit agua fresca tucked behind the usual pineapple, strawberry, and horchata. I couldn't believe they weren't showcasing it, I've never seen passion fruit agua fresca served with the seeds still in it. Even my Mexican fiancé agreed, that was a first for both of us. The al pastor, though, was a bit disappointing. It didn't have that vibrant red color that usually signals bold, flavorful pastor. From the first bite, it felt like something was missing, and then I hit an unexpectedly crunchy piece... definitely not something you expect in pastor. I don't usually order carne asada, but after seeing how much my fiancé was enjoying his, and how tender and flavorful it looked, I had to try one myself. I'm glad I did. It was delicious, with an almost smoked brisket-like consistency. 10/10 would recommend the asada!

This review is long overdue, but La Humadera has been my favorite taco spot in the Bay Area ever since I first discovered them back in April 2025 -- before they even had a Yelp page! I've been back several times since, and every visit has been just as delicious as the first. I only wish they were a little closer to the Peninsula. Their freshly made corn tortillas are incredible. You can immediately taste the difference in both texture and flavor. The meats are consistently juicy, well-seasoned, and just delicious with their hot sauces. I went to school in LA, and La Humadera easily rivals some of my favorite spots down there, which is saying a lot. They can be a little tricky to find if you've never been before, but I uploaded some directions they posted to their Instagram to help make it a bit easier. I'm so glad to have a place this good closer to home, and I'm secretly hoping they open a location on our side of the Bay someday. Until then, it's more than worth the drive. Highly recommend!

Delicious TJ style tacos with that perfect charred, smoky flavor. The line can get pretty long sometimes, but it's totally worth it, and there's plenty of parking which helps. They've got a salsa bar (the orange sauce is my favorite; spicy and packed with flavor). I love the mango agua fresca to cool things down after the heat. The rice and beans are also a great extra that really rounds out the tacos.

There was a LOT of buzz about this place. Mostly by those TikTok-ers who claim to be foodies praising every single place they go to. I had to give it a try tonight. It wasn't what I thought it would be. It was like any other stand in Fremont, but there's a difference... flavorless. Location is set in a parking lot, with plastic chairs and tables. A typical taco outside joint. There was nothing special about this one. Service was nice I give it that. Btw, cash and Zelle only! I've yet to find any places with Venmo. Now onto the food. Handmade Tortillas, meat, avocado sauce: no flavor. My jalapeño had more flavor than the entire 4 tacos and vampiro combined. I tried each piece separately as well. The flavor was just not there. The carne asada was chewy as well. Chewy with no flavor. Sorry but I made better handmade tortillas. This isn't a hate review, I was REALLY waiting to come here and expecting something different with all the buzz on Instagram and TikTok - but it just wasn't up to par - and I'm a TACO LOVER, like... look at me. Maybe it was all these influencers just trying to hype up local food places just to get their cut or something. But good luck guys! I'll try it again sometime in the future and give it another chance.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.
