salsa bar

Man, this used to be my jam when I lived in Sac to go to college. I used to frequent the one over by the mall so I jumped at the chance to visit this place when we were passing through and hunger pains hit us. We stopped in around 3:30p on a Saturday afternoon thinking it wouldn't be that busy and we were wrong, the place was packed. Happy to see they still had their yummy salsa bar. What I swallowed: *My good ol' go to: PAELLA BURRITO: Grilled shrimp.. mahi mahi... sausage.. rice.. cheese.. that aioli party going on.. mmmmm... one bite and it was like all the memories came rushing back.. such a good burrito. This place has always been a good spot to eat at, great food and friendly service. Give this place shot if you haven't been. It's worth it.

It's a fast food Mexican chain in the Davis area. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order, take a number, and find a table. I don't think the seats and tables are regularly cleaned, so you might need to do that before taking a seat. We ordered the Hank's cubano with pickled jalapeños on the side and the Border burrito without beans. Rice and beans are in majority of the menu items here which is disappointing. Unless you're ordering a plate, Mexican fast food joints in San Diego wouldn't serve it with rice and beans. Seems like a way to fill the burrito with ingredients that aren't meat.. 1/5- Chips weren't thick and fresh, and the hottest salsa was just spicy and lacked in flavor. 3/5- Hank's cubano was a solid 4 with mustard, but it doesn't taste great without the mustard. Therefore, I knocked off a point. The menu said it's supposed to be a green chili jam but I'm pretty sure it wasn't? I also didn't taste all the distinct cheeses. 2/5- Border burrito was meh. Honestly don't have much to say about it because I had my partner eat it all.

This review is for Dos Coyotes' catering service. We had a grad student picnic for our small program of about 20 people and many folks had dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, no red meat, no dairy, no added sugar, no nitrates, etc.) A HUGE thank you to Joshua for helping us figure out which options were best suited for each set of dietary restrictions! The event was a success and everyone was able to enjoy the food. We called in the night before our event and set the pick up for the following afternoon. The majority of people got the Border Burritos, which were delicious! I got the Border Burrito Bowl (a gluten-free option, without the flour tortilla). Several got the vegetarian option, the Southwest Burritos (Vegetables and Rice) and for the vegan option, we did the Southwest with Refried beans. For the very restrictive no red meat/no dairy/no added sugar/no nitrates, we did the Salmon Spinach salad (all extra dressings/sauces on the side) and that person was happy as well. We also enjoyed many orders of chips with guacamole, which come with a TON of chips -- we probably could have ordered less chips, since the burrito orders already come with a small side of chips.

Paella Burrito Bowl

Paella Burrito Bowl -- has pieces of shrimp, white fish and sausages along with rice, cheese and sauce. This bowl is really yummy and flavorful the sauce helps blend this combination of food really well. Tres Steak Tacos -- steak was cooked well but it felt like it lacked some salsa. I took some salsa from salsa bar and this made the tacos tastes less bland. Overall still yummy and better to eat when you add salsa. Salsa Bar -- comes with a good amount of assortment, I like the coleslaw a lot and kept getting seconds and thirds.

Service ok. Mahi mahi burrito was cold and mostly rice. Do not recommend this burrito. Others in party had fish tacos, which they enjoyed.

When she got there, we got in line and ended up waiting about 10 minutes to get to the register. We both ordered a burrito bowl (chicken and carnitas). One of the biggest draws is the self-serve chips and salsa bar. The chips are so good and the selection of salsas and add-ons was awesome! We went outside and sat at one of the "bar" spots. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. The servings of salsa and guac on top were remarkable! We mixed up our bowls and dove in! It was a very hearty bowl and we were glad since it was not super cheap ($17.80). We sat at the table for almost 3 hours and the servers eventually came and grabbed our bowls and not once pressured us to leave. The place was so busy and buzzing with conversation. The vibe was super chill and the people watching was so fun!

The tacos with beef birria, onions, cilantro, dipped in sauce are mouthwatering delicious! Can't and won't say no. I've also had their street tacos and carne asada fries (El Patio fries with carne asada), which are both pretty good. They offer burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and other dinner plates. I usually dine there later in the evening and it's not too busy. I haven't had to wait for a table. There are usually 2 female workers that wait on the tables and both are friendly. Only one time, the waitress forgot to put in my order, but usually service is good. To be honest, I like the old El Patio Fresh (before they remodeled) better. I liked being able to order at the counter and choose our own seats. Now, it's table service only. They still have a chips and salsa bar, which is really nice. Their salsas are good. I also got horchta to drink besides water. Service was great. We did not feel rushed, but we did come on a night where they closed early so had about an hour to dine in. The layout is still the same as before, so not much has changed. I got to sit in a both and enjoy my meal.

This building in Davis sits on a corner and is hot pink, so you can't miss it. They have outdoor, covered seating that was very enjoyable with today's great weather. My favorite thing about lunch today (5/7/26) was the service. The food was good, but the service was excellent. Upon arrival, my first time here I peered into the interior of the restaurant to see if my relative had arrived. I was immediately greeted by a very nice young man behind the counter. I exited the building and sat down at one of their exterior tables so my cousin could easily spot me, and the same very nice young man came out and brought me a menu to review while I was waiting for my cousin to arrive. Once she arrived, we went inside and ordered our meals, and returned to their outside seating. They have an open chips and salsa bar which was great as we waited for our meals. A short while later, another nice young man (with braids) came out to clear the table and offer drink refills. They were both very kind, accommodating and engaging. It's very nice to have great customer service from these gentlemen. We had a lovely lunch, and I would return.

On my first visit I had what I believe is called the Milpas Salad which was great, but I don't see it on the menu anymore. Great chips and salsa bar too. Great outdoor seating for nice days, and dog-friendly. Already my go-to for Mexican food in town. Love all the artwork on the walls too.
