Consistently inconsistent. We really like the dishes, but we have gone 1 time in the past 2 years where we didn't send something back. Tonight our salads came out maybe 2 or 3 minutes after ordering, great. Then less than 1 minute later here is our food? It hasmt been 4 minutes since we gave our prder. We just poured the dressing on and hadn't taken a bite. So our honey chipotle crispers where just above room temp and the grilled chicken was just about the same and missing its grill marks. The manager, like always took care of us. The staff is always nice, but many need more basic training. Hostess- My wife, young daughter and I come in, "how many in your party?" Three, "3?" As she looks at us bewildered, "Yes 3" she grabs 3 regular menus , so my wife says, "one kids menu please." Looking totally list and pauses, "a child's menu?" (6 yrs old) "Yes please." Waitress- "your food isn't warm?", no, "do you want me to do something?" Yes, take this and bring a fresh cooked plate please." The good thing is she was very polite and then take the plate and checked on us. The disappointing thing was our Presidents margaritas came and the shaker was maybe half full and loaded with ice, our glass the same. I mentioned how little of the drink both of us have and she smiles and says, "it's probably just the bartender rushing or not wanting to serve more than 8 0z." ? That's it, she has walked away- lol After that my water glass sat empty, got filled once in the first 10, at the edge of the table watching the waitress walk by, take our dessert order, bring the dessert and then the night ended. I could have asked, but I asked the first time and wanted to see how long it would go unnoticed. Would give this place zero stars if I could. We came in for a quick date night & sat at the bar to watch the Cowboys game. The place was empty - we got our drinks right away. The good stops there. Asked for menus and then proceeded to wait for at least 30 minutes. No one came to ask for our order and we endured the joys of listening to the staff complain about how much they hate their jobs. I get it, work sucks but there was no one there for them to serve, what exactly are you complaining about at that point? Long story short, we left after one round of drinks, hungry and disappointed. I've been coming here for a while. We LOVE Sandra. She is one of the best servers we know. However, today, with a different server (not that that impacted what happened), I was about three bites left in my salad when I noticed a dismember bug on my plate. That plus this weird 1/4 capacity thing they've been doing even though servers are not wearing masks and they're not socially distancing everyone is probably why we won't be returning. This review's for their carry out service. It is great. Two days in a week, on time each time. Food was hot, and cooked to what I specified. Amount of food was good. Glad they provided 3 ketchup packets for the fries without asking. I always need my ketchup fix. Food is good, not mind blowing amazing, but adequate for business lunches. Update 3/16/'18 Got carry out Lunch Combo - Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl, it's very good. The corn & black bean salsa in it was the only thing I didn't like. It's a bit pungent, not smelly, but has that fermented beans in vinegar flavor that I loathe. Luckily, it's piled to the side in the box, so I ignored that part of the bowl. Grilled chicken was well marinated, tender, and tasted freshly grilled. Strips of seasoned fried tortilla added a nice crunchy texture to the salad. That slice of lime they left for me was essential in brightening the whole bowl with citrus flavor. Lettuce tasted fresh. Great price. Interesting knife skills, chef intentionally cut the chicken so that it spreads out like a bunhc of bananas connected at the top. I was pleasantly surprised at this Chili's. Both times we have come to eat here all the staff has worked as a team and provided service quickly and with a smile. We have gone to several restaurants where the waiter/waitress feels like they own the table and no one can touch but here they all focus on the customer getting service quickly and without much wait. We would ask our waiter for something and another team member would deliver or we would ask someone walking by and the waitress would bring it or even the general manager. I'm going into full detail on this one. I state often that I am a server, so I do understand and am sympathetic to restaurants and what is going on. Service is not why I am leaving 2 stars. First off, we came in with a table of 6 at 6 on a Friday and were seated immediately. I was shocked! We sat for almost 10 minutes before a very busy waitress walked by and announced she would be there soon. I knew it would be a minute, as she had just been triple sat, all 4 tops or larger. That shouldn't happen. That's bad hosting and management. The poor girl didnt seem to be that experienced anyway, she looked like she was going to cry. She pleaded her coworker for help, who was also swamped, but much seemed much more experienced. I believe his name was LT. (It was chaos) 27 minutes in, 2 out of the 6 of us get drinks. During this time I watched the MANAGER walk to the host stand where he stood, drumming on the stand, chit chatting with the host for a good 10 minutes, then nonchalantly walked away. His night was good. He wasn't in the weeds. He was having a great night while his servers were drowning! I'm sorry, but this heated me. Servers get a bad rep when they are busy, and in my opinion this manager should have had their back. Food came out crusty and lukewarm after over an hour, it had been sitting under the heat lamp on the line waiting for my server to be able to get to it. No food runner, no manager helping, nothing. This Chili's is one of the best in the DFW Metroplex. The restaurant is always clean, including the restrooms. Apetizer: We started off chips and salsa with queso. The chips were fresh and hot, as always and the salsa was better then I remembered. It's not too hot and it has a very nice taste to it. I usually go through 3 bowls. My husband enjoyed the queso, but I think it tastes a bit generic. You will have to be careful not to fill up on the chips before your meal arrives. Drinks: I ordered the Sunrise Margarita and my husband had Dr.Pepper. Our drinks were immediately delivered to us. Don't let the girly look of the Sunrise Margarita fool you, this drink was deliciously strong. My husband never had an empty glass. Our waitress would refill his glass every time it was half empty. Dinner: I ordered the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken and a side of pico de gallo. My husband ordered the Fajito trio. Both arrived in less that 15 minutes. My salad was enormous. It contained the perfect amount of croutons, Parmesan cheese and steaming hot chicken. My husbands dinner was also a large proportion. We were both satisfied with our delicious food. Why do I keep doing this to myself? Went last night with 2 adults and 3 children. My guest is a vegetarian and wanted cheese instead of chicken enchiladas. They couldn't do that, which tells me that they come pre-packaged. We all ordered at the same time. The youngest wanted plain cheese nachos with sour cream. That's not what he was served. Started out at 1:06 pm with 50% full...two minutes standing with no hostess or manager to be seen...finally manager sat us. About 4 minutes before Luke introduces himself, all 90 lbs. He takes our drink order and returns them 3 minutes later (1:16 pm). I look at the menu for the Big Fajita (48% more) meat for $10.99...it is not the case. Here it is shown on their old nasty menus as $14.39 to $16.39! Not going to break the bank but I decide to order my normal Caribbean Chicken Salad instead...Or so I thought...1:26 pm Luke returns and gave us the look like, "Are you all my table or not?" Yes, that was 10 minutes from drinks and 20 minutes from door. It can't take that long to get our orders...flatbread, burgers, potato soup, salad...well 1:49 pm hits us with Luke just walking by saying it should only be a minute (43 minutes post door) and finally 1:50 pm rolls around and Luke decides to bring the bowl of soup shortly followed by the rest. He quickly brought the honey mustard dressing I traditionally like with the Caribbean Chicken Salad that no longer comes with I guess but then service stops until we are ready to leave...guess it is a one drink policy here too. Here is the fun of self service...the check-yourself-out-we-don't-care-machine fails to work properly...I leave it with the wife as I was going to take the machine for a walk with me at this point. Well, it took 10 minutes before she managed to get help from another waitress. Lesson here: 1. If you want a fast lunch=Not Chili's, 2. If you expect to get advertised specials=Not Rockwall Chili's, 3. If you expect great service=Not Luke, Rockwall Chili's, or Chili's, 4. Staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Chili's recently reduced their menu but did not reduce on flavor! The menu was back to classic with a little flare for everyone. My bacon cheeseburger was right on the money at 9.99 and the flavor was so amazing thee wasn't anything left on the plate. Children's menu has a great variety for all the picky eaters and my daughter actually finished half her meal! Which is a lot considering the potions. She enjoyed her cheese sandwich so much she wanted to take it and fries to lunch tomorrow! Lol! food prep time to table was excellent and the right temperature. My 7 yr old daughter and I stopped by at 2:30pm for lunch on June 1st. At least my daughter got what she asked for . My Oldtimer with cheese was cooked medium and had to be sent back. The waiter asked if I wanted a new one or if my burger, that was cut in half, could be thrown back on the grill with the mayo on it. I asked for a new one. It took so long to get it back, I needed a to go box when he finally arrived. He responded "Uh! I knew you were gonna do that. Do you want your Coke in a to-go cup too?" I answered no. What happened to this place? It use to be so wonderful! Last few times I've gone to this Chili's it was dirty. Tables everywhere were just left messy and the floor covered in food and trash. Even the tables I have been sat at lately were covered in crumbs. The waitresses I've had lately have been extremely slow and not very attentive or nice. What is up with their water? Do they not use filtered water? I know water in Rockwall isn't the greatest but everywhere else I've gone in town has great water. The water here has always tasted like cleaner. So much so that I've been afraid of drinking it. I have also experienced dirty cups and utensils several times. The burger that I always get has been good and the fries sometimes way over seasoned but that's just a minor gripe. After our last experience here I won't be going back. It just wasn't pleasant. Bartenders here are lame. They didn't know the menu, specifically what was on happy hour, and when the bill came we were charged full price for drinks. His response was "well, I guess they weren't part of the happy hour". The food was okay but their service, and attitude, is simply lame. sooo...jennifer jo calls and asks if i would be interested in drinks or dinner on friday night, sure i say and i get to chose. i picked chilis cause it used to be my favorite and i really wanted chips and hot sauce and their great ranch...that is where the good ended with this trip. we get to our table and we have the most annoying waitress ever, she talks to us like we are in first grade in this really aggravating sing song voice that made me want to punch her. on a good note though, apparently happy hour is all day long every day? nice. guess they did that cause the service and the food suck now. we ordered and waited and waited and waited...3 sets of people came in and sat down and ordered and got their food and even one set left, i call sing-song over and say...uh, where is our food? she goes, its just right in the back waiting for me to get it. WHAT??? i reply nicely, well how bout if you do that?
