Over the last 30 years the service and food have gone up and down, mostly down. Within the last couple of years both the food AND the service have become spectacular. I met the manager Angel a few months back and told her it was really good all the way around, but it continues to be good. I mentioned to my server that Angel must be good to work for and she said YEAH I've worked her for 10 years! This amazed me. Chili's has upped their game over the past few years, and this location is now worthy of the premium RE corner it occupies in Rockwall. Crazy busy friday night, but we were promptly seated and served drinks. I specify drinks, because we never got our appetizers. When our entrees were delivered, we reminded our server and asked that they be taken off our bill. After a brief exchange to decline eating them after the entrees (seriously?) she complied. Drink menu is simple; typical margarita variations, etc. No mojitos. Blackberry-pineapple infused margarita was good, but word to the bartender - if the fruit has been in the liquor less than 24 hrs - it is not yet 'infused.' Entrees were good. Dessert was excellent. The food was terrible. I'm not sure if it was because of the time of day we went or if it was just the cook they may had that day because normally when we go to chili's everything is right on point. But this time was absolutely awful. The queso was cold not even the least bit warm, my husband's order was put in and brought out as a appetizer, the tea was terrible, and the service wasn't even all that. To top it off when we got our ticket we looked and it was $65 for 2 of us and my 4 yr old son. Not only did they overcharge our entire order but they charged us for the complimentary chips and salsa that they bring out to every table automatically. The Bacon Avocado Grilled Chicken Sandwich is a delicious 2nd choice is a burger is too heavy for you.. it is over 1000 calories for the burger. The wait staff and service was super pleasant and they are obviously taking precautions in response to the pandemic.. using individual packets for condiments, disposable menus, disposable napkins and well sanitized tables between customers. Only complaint is the strawberry lemonade has took a watery turn.. I figure if cuts are needing to be made due to COVID, we've got to be ready for some sacrifices. We stopped in today for lunch. Got chips and salsa, which were light and fresh. Ordered entrees that included salads. Fresh ingredients and filling. Entrees arrived hot and in timely matter. Hubby had smokehouse sampler, they were out of sausage, so he got double chipotle crispers. My MIL got soup and salad. Potatoe soup was so creamy. I chose quesadillas, hot, fresh and very filling. Our waitress was very attentive with refills on water, and tea. Always a must when being a server. Topped off lunch with a delicious chocolate chip brownie sundae. It was so amazing! Gonna have to stop coming to this location. We've ordered curbside at this location three times recently. We check in upon arrival. On two of the three occasions we've waited for over thirty minutes and no one comes out to us. Finally, we had to go inside and get our food (which was ready). The one time they did bring our food out to us it was still an incredibly lengthy wait. We've also called to see if our food was ready and it's nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. On our last visit, when we finally got our food, they forgot one of our entrees. Didn't notice until we got home. Crappy service. My husband and I went here on our first date, and we have been coming here on dates every other week or so for the last year and a half. Great experiences and memories. We went there the night after we got married since it had been such a huge part of our love story. The staff was so happy for us and everyone stopped by and said congratulations. Last Thursday I had a bad experience at the Chili's in Waxahachie, but today decided to give it another shot at this location. Food tasted okay, service was okay, but yet again, a huge mistakes were made by the staff. Today we found a hair in our ranch that came out with our appetizer. I had already ate half of the ranch in the cup before finding the short black hair that you can see in my photo below. I asked the waitress to please bring a new cup of ranch because of the hair in it, and her response was "oh" and then to just set down a new cup after my meal already came out. I thought I would get an apology or even some sort of acknowledgment but we didn't get anything beyond the "oh." I do hope our waitress let the kitchen know that they were dumping hair into food. We at first tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and think maybe it was our own hair, but I have long red hair, and the person I was dining with has even longer light brown / blonde hair, so there was no way it could've came from us. I feel really bad for leaving a bad review twice in a week, but I have really been disappointed in Chili's lately and feel like I should warn others. This is the worst Chili's I have ever stepped foot into! From the time we walked in the door the two hostess's were extremely rude. I asked to sit at a table in the bar, they told me it would be 10 minutes. no problem. I then went and asked for a menu and again was treated with complete disrespect! We were then told our table was ready with no direction to what table or that it was open seating. I asked one of the hostess's if we could sit at the booth that she was sweeping under. She rudely looked at me and said I'm sweeping. I said I understand but I'd like to sit there when you are done. We decided to leave because my daughter in law forgot her ID, we running home to grab it, and I asked to speak to the manager, Angel, her response was rude and basically okay.
