For anybody reading this, I would run not walk away from this place. The kitchen is gross. Nobody washes their hands or wear gloves. I can't believe the health department has not them down yet. Bathrooms are disgusting management doesn't care nor the servers. They are just there to take your money and run. And watch out for the hair in the food. We went in there, not too long ago, and I believe Anna was our server We heard her talking to another employee. Speaking very rudely about us and other patrons in the dining room. Then came back and was smiling as big as she could. We all knew she had to know we heard her. My dad want to say something about it. So very, very rude very professional. Two strike and you're out! Normally it's three strikes, but the experience this time around was just that bad. We sat on the patio, which was littered with tables that needed to have been cleared a long time ago. The inside wasn't very busy, so we didn't expect a long wait. Queue the super nasty and inattentive waitress. I wonder if she was the same bad waitress we had years ago when I did my last update. In any case after about fifteen minutes she swung by to take our drink order, and provide us with a free side of attitude. Eventually the drinks showed up and our food order was taken. My wife and I were visiting her parents from out of town, so we were enjoying our time talking, but after awhile it became apparent that our server wasn't very attentive when our drinks sat empty, tables around us were filled with newcomers who enjoyed their meals and paid and left (they had a different server) and yet still we waited for our food. I don't like being 'that guy' who tracks down a waitress to bitch, but tbh I was getting irritated and the mood was turning hangry at the table when she finally showed up after we had been there for an hour and asked if we were ready for our check. If she had ever checked on us she would have seen we never even got our food! At that point hangry became pissed as she went to check on our food only to return to tell us they lost the ticket and she had to take our order again.. When they brought out the food, half of it was cold and her attitude had returned. It was a 50/50 split between who was at fault, as clearly the kitchen staff weren't paying attention, but then again neither was she. I actually got sunburned we were sitting there for so long. No apology. No remorse. Just a handful of idgaf's from them. The bathroom was also super nasty, leading me to wonder what the kitchen looked like. Yesterday was the second Snuffers that we've been to in the area. The food is always good yesterday we had the sweetest server. His name is Trey. I had the mushroom Swiss cheeseburger. It was done perfectly and the fried pickles. The coleslaw was amazing. The atmosphere was great. My husband had the chicken fried steak it was huge and he had the cheddar cheese fries with chives also a large portion and done perfectly. So... this is my first ever 1 star review at a restaurant. Every time we go out to eat we try several things to give a place a chance. At this Snuffer's we ordered fried mushrooms, bean and cheese nachos, grilled chicken and a their famous burger. I hate to say this but it was all quite terrible. The nachos had 99% too much cheese and no beans, but the chips were cool. The mushrooms had barely any breading on it and was flavorless, and the chicken was tough. The burger was decent so I give that the full star. Improvements would be quality of food. 100%. Service was great. Location is good. But the SMELL inside was terrible. Possibly sewage problems? We won't be back but I'd like to know if people have had good experiences at other locations? Seems the food could be good if done right! read more

Great service. Great patio. Chicken fried steak was incredibly tough, the breading fell right off and was not crisp. The mashed potatoes were a gummy, cold gluey mess. The food could have been hotter, the beer could have been colder. The salad was very good, though it could have been colder. The place is a bit run down and rough but okay. The tables should be refinished, they are sticky. We cleaned our own table and sat down, still sticky and basically uncleanable but we got off the large crumbs. If there is a tried and true food there, get it. Stay away from the chicken fried steak. Enjoy the beer and the patio. Tell you waiter to make sure your food is hot. read more

Lunch - The service was great. The food was great. We had burgers and the loaded cheese fries. Our glasses were refilled as often as needed. The men's bathroom was better than my last visit. The structure is showing its age, inside and out. The restaurant needs some substantial updating before it gets out of hand. Overall I am giving it 3 stars, but if I had just had the burger it would be a solid 4 stars. The good: Burger was cooked perfectly medium rare as I requested. Meat was seasoned well the bun was soft and fluffy. A solid 4 star burger for sure! Service was also amazing! I ordered a burger well done, and it came out pink. The server stated that they got new meat, honey, well done is still well done. Not rare. I then ordered a substitute of chicken strips. I waited not only 10 or 20 but 30-40 minuets. FOR A REPLACEMENT MEAL. Absolutely ridiculous. The server seemed nice, and so did the restaurant. Snuffer's has been a Rockwall staple for quite some time. You can enjoy indoor or outdoor seating or grab a seat at the bar. Lunch today (12/27/25) and it was very good. We got there at 11:45 am so it wasn't busy. It was a beautiful warm sunny 79 degrees so we were going to sit on the patio overlooking the lake. However, they did not have umbrellas or shade cloth over the tables. We ordered the Patty Melt and Onion Rings and both were so good. And nice size portions as well. Also ordered the Texas Burger and medium Cheddar loaded fries. The burger was good, however we would prefer romaine or iceberg lettuce over the salad mix which included spinach on our burger. We had to pick all that off because it was soggy. The cheddar fries were so good. The service was good. The prices were reasonable. We will be back. read more

Our waitress the middle aged white lady with short hair and highlights didn't even put in our order for cheddar fries. waiting 30 minutes and the nothing she didn't even put the order in and that was the only thing we ordered. At this time we then tell her in front her manager (another white lady) where our fries are and she just looked at us clueless. so we just left. didn't even get our fries. My first time back in a while. I ordered the burger w/ cheese cooked medium well. It was definitely well done, they were out of tomatoes (stop by the grocery and buy some) and arrived with no mustard or mayo (not my request). I doubt I try it again. I was craving Chicken Fried Steak and my wife wanted Cheesy Bacon Fries - so our choice was obvious! Snuffers never disappoints on the Cheese Fries!! They were excellent as usual! My CFS was just what the Dr ordered; yes, it had more breading than meat - but it was still good! My wife enjoyed her Sliders, and soon enough - we were full! The Tito's Lemonade is very similar to my home-fave, and it was spot on (although slow)! No more self-seating; I guess a hostess is required to insure adequate spacing - but we were seated quickly. I'm sure it is difficult to keep experienced wait-staff when the capacity is reduced (like during virus), and frankly - it showed. Service was a bit slow, but in fairness - they appeared to be training a lot of new servers. Hopefully that improves as soon as capacity increases. read more

Ate here on the Friday before OU/TX. It was busy but we were immediately seated. Our server did forget my wife's drink so it took a while to get it. The burger was as good as the other reviews speak about. I had the bacon avocado. Wife had three sliders and enjoyed them (she could only eat two). Cheese fries were good but they forgot the bacon on them and it seems they only put cheese on the top so after the top layer it was fries only but they had good seasoning. One daughter had the hot honey wings and she liked them. I tasted one and like it as well. Other daughter had a wrap and asked for no greens but they put them on. I really hate to do this , being a server myself, but this was probably the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant, I was told the boy was newish, but still .. so we went in Thursday night the 18th 30 mins to get our drinks, all the tables around us were dirty from the time we sat down til we left,, we had a party of 15, our appetizers came out w our food, our chips were never refilled and our tables went without refills for a good 30 mins til I asked.i specifically asked the server to put our cake in the freezer because it was an ice cream cake, and when I asked another server to please get it for us, I took the lid off and it literally poured all over the table, completely melted.out of 15 of us 2 people had to send their food back(twice) and the burgers were not made again, but they just took off what wasn't suppose to be on them and gave us back cold food. And still wrong but at that point we were done. Three of us never got our food at all and even when we reordered it, we still never got it and one of the orders was a damn salad. Our tables were never prebussed, been there about 2 hrs at this point and every table around us was still dirty. I myself delivered the dirty bar glasses back to the bar and there were 13 of them.. so 5 out of 15 never ate, it was a birthday and we have no cake, we never got refills, filthy tables all around us, and the only time we got anything is when I got up and went and found our server and asked, w the exception of Luke stepping in and kinda taking over and getting us the things we needed. I understand "new" but if you're struggling, ask for help , but don't let a party of 15s night be ruined !!! read more

Great fast service!! Food was terrific! Our waitress was super attentive and was on top of her game all night. 10/10 would recommend.

I came in with my wife and joined 2 friends who were already seated. Within minutes, our server Sean came to our table to get our drink order. Once those were brought to the table, he took our order-- starting with the 2 that were waiting before us as it was only fair. He was friendly and took our orders down efficiently for check-splitting purposes. I got the Green Chile Cheeseburger and my wife got the Dr. Pepper burger. We shared a medium becom cheddar fries. Both burgers were delicious and made exactly as we ordered it; this place is consistent in quality of food that we don't even mind driving more than hour out to get burgers from here. Will definitely return for another visit relatively soon! read more

Only draw back with Snuffers, is the ability to keep a large group together. We had to split the group and add chairs to one booth for us to stay close. The food was great, service was prompt, friendly, and cooked to order. Other than the seating, we enjoyed it. Nice location too, although it was too hot to sit outside. read more

I had metal in my food, the waiter did not explain the food well, got the order wrong & the service left a lot to be desired. I'm 34 & in a wheelchair, went to have lunch with my mom & Aunt (late 50's) & 82 year old grandmother who uses a walker. We ordered chips & salsa as an appetizer. I grabbed a chip & scooped up some salsa as we talked & right before I popped it on my mouth I notice a LARGE piece of something I looked closer & it was a big twisted chunk of sharp metal. I waited politely for a good 5 mins for the waiter to come by (we were 1 of only 3 tables) I eventually just flagged him down & said "there was a big piece of metal in my salsa" all he said was "I'll get the manager" a few mins later they come back & I tell her the same thing, show her & tell her I think one of their machines might've broken. I was polite & not at all rude & she apologized & said she would take care of this for us. I guess stupid me thought she meant she was going to make it up to us. Now I'm not greedy or anything but getting handed a bill that was FULL price was a bit shocking. Now when she said I'll take care of this for u I didn't think she meant the 4 of us were going to eat for free but not even a 10-20% discount or hell even just knocking off the $7 for the Appetizer was a bit crappy. FOR GOD SAKES 2 OF US ARE OBVIOUSLY CRIPPLED (so is my aunt but its not as outwardly noticed) & THERE WAS METAL IN THE FOOD!!! I learned my lesson, scream yell or make a big scene next time or u get taken advantage of! My 82 yr old grandmother was eating that salsa & could have swallowed it & been hospitalized. Honestly I was upset but didn't wanna make a scene in front of my elderly family members. I even tipped the crappy waiter well. I would NOT recommend this place. Oh also side note, I was paralyzed by a drunk driver & the ONLY seating available at tables & not booths which are hard for me to go under, is in the bar so I got stuck just feet away & smelling all the alcohol (had a stale beer smell there). Went here with family, my first time. We sat outside even though it was a bit chilly, we wanted the lake view. Ummm more like a view of the noisy freeway with a sliver of lake in the distance. The service was fine. We shared the loaded cheese fries, might have been a pound of bacon on there. They were good and I would have them again, it was nice that they provided everyone at the table a side of ranch. I ordered the bacon and blue burger. Nice size burger, but the beef was tasteless, very disappointing. I'll stick with Charley's Burgers and Taco. My daughter had the huge Buffalo chicken sandwich. It was delicious. Our family loves snuffers and we've been coming for decades to get their famous cheese fries and burgers. Tonight we had a new server and her name was Helena, and we absolutely LOVED her. She was just the best and we had a HUGE group and she was there to get the job DONE! She said she was from Ukraine and she was just so sweet and made us laugh because her attitude was just the best. I hope if a manager or employee sees this that they will tell her how much we loved her tonight. First of all I want to say that we have been frequent customers of this restaurant chain and this location for many years. We look forward to coming after an evening on the lake, and typically prefer to sit outside and watch the sunset, but the new low hanging shades over the patio make that undesireable now. The past two Monday evenings have made us change our minds about returning to this location. The service last week was slow and the bathroom smell was almost unbearble - like backed up sewage. We both ordered salads and both were given minimal chicken strips included on them. This week we arrived 1.5 hrs before closing, were made to relocate from our original table so they could clean the area where a family of about 10 people or so was seated so we moved to the bar area, no problem. We placed our drink order and received our cheese fries and then waited more than 20 min in the otherwise empty restaurant with only one server to be seen who was still cleaning the closed side. There was one table of people seated outside that arrived about 10 min or so after we did who we saw as we left were having their orders taken. Eventually three other servers including our original server, popped in and out of the area as did the bar tender, and all ignored us. No one offered us more drinks, or offered to take our dinner order during that time. Eventually, one young lady did offer to take our order, but needless to say we were tired of being ignored and paid our bill and left without spending anymore of our time or money in the restaurant. It is clear that there is more interest in closing for the night at 8:30 pm than tending to your only inside customers, despite the signage on the entrance doors advertising the later closing times. This is certainly not the level of service we have become used to at this location or the others we have enjoyed visiting over the years and we left highly disappointed. read more

Went to Snuffers for burgers last week. The burger tasted pretty good, so no complaints on the food. The service was mediocre at best. Our server wasn't unfriendly, but didn't do more than the bare minimum. Seemed in a hurry to get us out of there. Clearing everything off the table without asking if we were done with it. The restaurant itself was disgusting. A bit sticky. The ladies restroom smelled like someone died in it. I stepped in and immediately had to run outside for fresh air so I wouldn't throw up. I understand that sometimes things happen in restrooms, but a good ventilation system and frequent checks for cleanliness are essential. read more

I agree with there reviews, it smells pretty weird in here. It's not a pleasant food aroma. It's more like old water pipes - just stinky! Of course you get used to it once there, lol. Hamburger, loaded cheese fries were pretty good and consistent to Snuffer's Restaurant. However, the club sandwich that I have been craving and remembered from years back has changed. It was still quite good but didn't satisfy my craving for what it used to be. My son and I walked in on a slow Wednesday early lunch crowd and so there was hardly a soul in. Had dinner with my cousin here on Wednesday evening and enjoyed their sliders without buns. Trying to stay gluten free but their happy hour prices for fried pickles got my attention so between fried pickles, three bun-less little hamburgers and french fries I was pretty stuffed. Our waitress was very attentive and let us sit and talk for hours. I think the table next to us had five parties in the time we sat there. We only see each other once every six weeks because we live in different directions from Rockwall, and we meet whenever I have a doctor's appointment in Heath. Some bomb food is here. You seat yourself and you have the option of eating inside or outside. Really love their fried mushrooms and fried pickles. Wasn't feeling a burger so I got the soup of the day which was baked potato. The loaded cheese fries are bomb too and a must try. The burgers are good but definitely nothing too special.
