It was the valet service that caught his eye and peaked his interest that it might be a place we would enjoy. The inside of the restaurant is decorated simply, yet nicely, in warm, welcoming colors. The staff is primarily made up of respectful young people who have been trained well in customer service. They were a bit understaffed on a Sunday afternoon, which made service a little slow, but we were in no hurry and I completely know what it's like to work with not enough people, so I have no complaints about that, although there were several tables near us that weren't happy about the slow service. We got cocktails to start and they were good. I wanted the cocktail with the peanut butter tequila, but they ran out of the tequila, which was a little off putting, but The Grind and Day Drinking were suitable options. We ordered the deviled eggs appetizer and the presentation was lovely. I appreciated the smooth texture of the yolked stuffing, but there was absolutely no flavor to it. No seasoning at all. It did have a tasty bacon jam garnish, which helped, but I definitely wouldn't order them again. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The food looked tantalizing enough, the chicken was fried well with a good crispy batter and a moist center. But again, the flavor was lacking. A little seasoning would've made all the difference. The waffle was okay. My husband had the French toast, which was a little soggy, but he said it was good. We will give it a little time, let them work out the kinks, and we may try Wade's Landing again...maybe for Happy Hour or dinner.

There was like six people sitting us down, serving coffee and ice water without even asking. We ordered seared Salmon, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict flatbread, and a custom omelette. The food was very good! Compliments to the chef. You probably wouldn't think about going to a hotel for the food, but this place is an exception. The food, views and relaxed atmosphere is what separates this from the typical restaurant scene. After breakfast we strolled along the harbor and enjoyed the morning with sweet tea. They should put together a big, high end, Sunday brunch buffet and they would do really well.

Today, we went to Zanata's for my birthday. Honestly, our service was just mediocre compared to all of our other experiences here. It seemed as if our server was ready to leave or something as we overheard her telling a new server coming in that our table had already ordered. Maybe that is part of the reason why part of my meal was forgotten. She made sure she to let us know that she took it off, great- because we didn't get it. I would have ordered a second glass of wine, but she never came back by to ask. When she came by to ask about dessert, it came out as "you didn't want the dessert menu did you?"" ..... no, not asking that way. Our food was good and I'll give it another try, but not in a Saturday afternoon and definitely not for my birthday. So we left and are going elsewhere for dessert and drinks.
