Do not use their online ordering. We have given them several chances and every time they have forgotten items. They also give you a time to pick it up and that time has never been accurate. It is usually 10 - 20 minutes longer than they tell you. read more

We stopped here for dinner while staying in the area to visit a local amusement park. We were having a bit of a late dinner so we didn't anticipate a 25 minute wait at 9pm. Especially since half of the tables were empty! Finally got seated and placed our order. That is when the real waiting began. There were only 4 of us but our food took about an hour to arrive. That was for a sandwich and 3 burgers. At this point we are tired and starving! The burger I had was like eating an old piece of charcoal. It was so burnt that it was actually crumbling. We then had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive the desert we had ordered at the beginning of our dinner! The waitress never brought a check so we just used the computer on the table. It wouldn't print our receipt and when I asked for it I was told we didn't need it. I come through this area a lot and I will never visit this Chili's again! read more

My daughter and I ordered the chicken fried steak to go. I've had it before and it was really good, but this time it was not edible. It was SO tough and grisly I couldn't even cut through it. I know what kind of "steak" it was but I ate a bite and had to spit it out because it wouldn't break down enough to swallow. The side dishes we good. read more

Waited over an hour for food (3 kids meal, a salad, and a mexi rice bowl). I had to get the hostess to check on order because manager was handeling other upset tables around us. When order finally came out food was cold, Kids meal was missing the garlic bread, and instead of salad they brought a chicken sandwich. 8 minutes later they return with the salad but made incorrectly. The manager had very little to say until I brought up that this isn't the first time I've had an issue at this location, he then went on to tell me they recently had a manager turn over. I will not return to this location the server was snotty and did not want to help she avoided our table the remainder of the night, the manager had very little explanation or empathy towards the situation. Instead of a salad from Chilis I had drive through from Wendy's for dinner. This Chilis will not survive if they continue with the poor service and long waits for food. I would not recommend the Layton location to anyone, drive to Ogden if you want Chilis. read more

I did not have a great experience. I walk in and it is just crowded, i see empty tables but none sitting the mass amount of people in there. When we finally got to the table the floor was very sticky and it was gross when ever i walked to my chair. I am a pretty picky eater when it comes to restaurants and i ordered my meal with mac and cheese, while i didn't know that the mac and cheese had certain type of pepper in it that i was allergic to, the waiter said he can switch it to the kids mac and cheese, while waiting he came back after 10 minutes and said he wasn't able to anymore? i just kept growing more upset by the minute. And after all that i ended up paying the wrong bill. Those machines they give you to pay on make no sense at all. i was very disappointed with chilies again for i gave it another shot and i don't think i will ever again. read more

Ordered online and was told my food would be ready by 6:41. It's 7:28 and my order is still not ready. I asked to cancel my order and the manager said he could not provide a receipt to confirm. He promised to call me back later in the evening... I had to call back the next day to provide my credit card information in order to receive a refund. I wish I can leave 2 stars but that would be too nice. Me and my family were seated at the bartending area. Our server (I wish I got her name) was extremely inattentive and made it her mission to avoid us as much as possible. No inquiries on drink refills and "if there is anything else I can bring you". This happened on a Sunday during late lunch time so it wasn't busy at all. No manager was present to check to see if service was in par. This is the first time we've ever been treated this way. I understand there might be a learning curve working in the service industry and I don't discredit the hard work involved. But the Golden Rule "Treat others the way you want to be treated" didn't apply. It's a shame. We won't be returning. read more

We went to this Chili's late one evening thinking it would not be to busy and the service might be okay. Well the service was not good and neither was the food. Our drinks were never refilled, I had to get up to get our utensils and when I got to the back of the restaurant I peeked my head in the kitchen and 5 servers were just standing around laughing and chatting. Someone in a dress shirt and tie (I think a manager) was even in on their convo. Meanwhile we could see other customers getting impatient for not being helped. Our food was cold and when we mentioned how dissatisfied we were (citing the aforementioned annoyance), the waitress just complained about how busy they were. We are not local to the area and have been to many Chili's. This Chili's was by far the WORST experience we have had. The hostess sat us at a booth by the bar were we sat for 10 minutes as we saw servers busting tables and talking with other customers. Upon asking the hostess if we had a server we hear the hostess ask the lady supposed to be in charge of our table why she had not taken our drink orders and the lady replied " I am busy with my other tables and I do not have time to deal with them" and walks away. Still waiting at our table 5 minutes later the lady comes to our table and apologizes for the wait and asked for our drinks and what we want to eat. We both ordered soup and she would not let us use a coupon we have used before when order soup at other locations and after waiting 15 minutes for drinks you should be offering something free such as chips and salsa. Our food arrives 10 minutes later COLD! When the food comes back out from being sent back it is still the same temperature like it was never even heated. After getting our soup for the 3rd time it was finally hot. We were never given refills and after all of this the manager on duty walked passed our table 4 times and never stopped to apologize. Whenever I go to Chili's I love it! The servers are always very welcoming and attentive to my needs. I have never had to wait very long for my food. They always keep the drinks coming! My favorite thing to eat is the chips and salsa. Yummy! I have never had a bad experience eating here. It is always a very good experience to dine with Chili's! read more

This Chili's use to be awesome! It is terrible now! In past 7 months we've had 1 good experience. We use to go here every week. We will not be going back. Today we took our children to eat. We came to this location on the 4th of July and had a really bad experience. So we decided to go back tonight hoping it was a fluke and because of the holiday....we were wrong. The service was terrible. We had to ask for silverware, didn't get napkins until the meal was over, the drinks were always empty, the kids mac and cheese was so old and gross my kids wouldn't even touch it, they put a party of 5 at a table for 4 (the restaurant was pretty much empty!), the server never cleared a empty glass or plate so the table was overflowing with dirty dishes. The server seemed overwhelmed but only had 3 tables. Then at the end of the meal the kiosk to pay with was the wrong one so we had to wait forever for the server to find the right one and for it to load. We arrived at 6pm and didn't leave until 7:30. We ordered our food as soon as we sat down (we come to chilis a lot so we knew what we wanted). It shouldn't take that long for quick meal. read more

Came to this restaurant from out of town. We love chili's and do not have one anywhere near us, so we were really looking forward to eating here. DON'T GO TO THIS PARTICULAR CHILI'S IN LAYTON! Save yourself the disappointment. We waited for a good fifteen minutes or better to just be acknowledged at the door. The hostess said she just needed to clean some tables and then she would seat us. I saw many tables in the place that would have accommodated us just fine, as the restaurant was not busy at all. Well, it took her another 10 minutes to "clean" our table. After being seated, we ordered drinks, that took 20 minutes to get the drinks. All in all, we were there for almost 2 hours on a week night, almost empty restaurant. We just couldn't figure out what the hold up was. I mentioned to our waitress that the wait time was unacceptable and she didn't say a word, let alone offer an apology. After saying that, my salad finally arrived...on a filthy plate that looked like it was it's second go around. I wondered if that was my payback for mentioning the slow service? The other dishes that came out were stone cold. The waitress came back and asked if we wanted dessert, told her no way, we didn't have another hour and a half to wait! Again, she didn't offer any apologies whatsoever. Went home and called the manager, he said he would send out some gift cards to us. Month and a half later, and still haven't received them, very disappointed. read more

One star is even too generous for this place. I went with my family who was visiting from out of town. The restaurant was by no means busy, but still took at least 20 minutes to get seated. We were seated near the door and I watched two separate parties come in, both who were never greeted by the hostess who had walked by them multiple times. Both parties ended up leaving after a 10 minute wait without even a "hello" from the rude hostess. It was another 20 minutes before our drink order was even taken. We sat there for over an hour with no water refills until our food finally came out. Plates were dirty. Food was cold. When we mentioned to the waiter that an hour wait was ridiculous, she shrugged it off like it was no big deal. I called the manager that night and was told that he would be sending a gift card and coupons for our next visit. This was almost two months ago and we never received said coupons. Going to a restaurant on a Friday night and you know it'll be busy. You have prepared yourself for this... What you didn't prepare yourself for was the horrendous service. After an hour wait where you can see at least 7 empty tables that are clean and two that have been dirty since you got there, people that arrived after you but left and then used the stupid app to check in come back and get seated right away. Your name finally gets called and since you don't scream out right away the hostess goes to the next two people in line. Keep in mind our small group of four adults have a toddler and an eight months old to wrangle as well as one of the adults is 8 months pregnant. You get to the hostess stand and she's completely ignoring you to flirt with some guy that just walked in and asked if he could just get seated at the bar so he didn't have to wait. She doesn't even look at the bar and is twirling her hair and says of course. She finally acknowledges you and very exasperatedly takes you to a table in the back by the kitchen. Fine... While we wait about 30 minutes later and we finally get our drinks. At this point we are starting to have a very frustrated toddler that's hungry... The server brings out our appetizer, chips and salsa as well as a bowl of pineapple for the little ones. Don't think chips and salsa can get screwed up... Wrong. Half of the chips were soggy/undercooked. Who does that? We order our meals. Somebody brings out our meals... Not our server. She then proceeds to set sizzling hot plates right in front of my 8 month old. I'm actively trying to move them away and trying to keep tiny hands from burning and SHE CONTINUED TO SET HOT PLATES IN FRONT OF HIM!!! Find, whatever... I keep the tiny hands from burning. Two from our group ordered the same thing. When asked which was medium and which was medium rare, she had no clue. Cut into the steaks and the one that was supposed to be medium is more like medium well. Even the medium rare one wasn't done right. The only upside so far was the Fry's that you got with the steaks weren't horrible. Our waitress comes and asks if we want desert. Nope... We are done. Okay "So you guys know how to work the kiosk right?" Waitress walks away... Go to pay the bill and no matter how many times you press the check button, it won't work. My friend grabs it and holds it above his head. After 3 or 4 people walk by and see but do nothing about it, we finally flag down somebody and they take it and print out a bill for us. Meanwhile we can see and hear in the back and the manager or whoever is having a little pow wow in the back and we can hear celebrating... Needless to say we won't ever be returning and the only reason it gets one star is because of the Fry's. read more
