The seating service was horrible with alot of open tables and people on the waiting list to fill them. Myself and wife were standing by two chairs for twenty minutes There were additional two parties that were ahead of us. There were four (4) open two seater tables in the bar area that were available.. A couple that came in after us ask the manager if they could sit in the area and he told them that they could only sit at the bar. They sat at an open table and received service. I went to the manager and asked him if we could sit at the open two seated high table that we were on the waiting at until we were called. At that time there was only one other two person party ahead of us. The manager asked if we were on the waiting list and we were but we had to wait. At that time after couple came in and ask if they could sit in the open seats but he told that they can sit at the bar but they were allowed to sit in an open table. The manager acknowledge that we could sit at the open table. The message was passed to the waiter. Upon being seated the manager passed our table and asked the other tables if they were enjoying their dining experience. I was never rude or disrespectful to the hostess or the manager when I asked my question about the seating. There were at least three couples that left without being seated with open tables available. For better service, the staff needs training on how to use the seating chart to ensure more efficient customer service. I understand that it was dinner time rush but how do have open tables with people waiting for over 20 minutes. My family and I had a really pleasant dinner at this Chilis. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress name was, Whitney and she was awesome! It was busy, but the entire staff worked like a well oiled machine. The food was great! I have been to plenty of this chains locations across MD and the US. We first came to this location right after it opened. It was not pleasant to be kind. So we waited and came back a few more times. It was hit or miss on service and the food was mainly miss. This time it was a total bust. To start it took 10min to get the salad's. Then the server disappeared. Then the meal took another 10min or so and still no sign of the server. We asked for refills on tea and water from a manager. That manager passed our table 4X and still didn't deliver the drink refills. The absentee server did show up and took the dessert order. So to recap. The fajitas were luke warm but the pan was hot. The ribs over cooked and tough and the fries bland and old. So once again a poor performance at this location. read more

Not a great place to go if you're looking to eat healthy but I think it's a solid place for lunch or dinner with the family. I just don't get why people (myself included) go to Chili's. I've been to this location a couple times and the food is ok at best. The thing is, you can get better food for cheaper at other places. We came yesterday because we had an infant, couldn't afford a long wait due to after-dinner plans and wanted to be able to order a cold beer. So I guess that's the draw; if you want an easy, kid friendly sitdown for drinks and sub-par tex mex you can come here just to say you "went out for dinner". This particular night I had the buffalo chicken salad. The chicken looked like it was tossed in buffalo sauce and forgotten about for a couple hours and the salad was overdressed and soggy. Went tonight for the first time and it was outstanding. 30-45 minute wait but were seated in about 5mins due to call ahead seating. Our waitress was phenomenal and attentive but not over the top. Food was the best I've had at any chili's. I got the carnitas burrito, my father got the smothered chicken burrito and my mother got the Santa Fe salad. The place was packed and we received everything promptly (within 10-12 mins of ordering). I read the other two reviews and realize every restaurant has their quirks to work out when they first open but either way those reviews were not a fair representation of the restaurant and are probably more of a reflection on the specific staff they had waiting on them. Solid place, with solid food and a great vibe. I will definitely be going back. My one negative is there is barely any waiting space for a chain the size of Chili's. Everybody is crammed right in front of the door with seating for about 6 people waiting. read more

Ordered dinner for two menu with a Texas cheese fries, chicken fajita, pasta, and wow was the food bland. It's an insult to call them fajitas as fajitas should never taste that bland and rubbery. As far as chain restaurants go, I usually really enjoy chilis. I was excited that one was coming to Frederick. We went around 1:00 on a Sunday. It was busy, and they had just opened so we expected that. We only waited a few minutes to be seated. We were greeted and brought drinks right away. We ordered an appetizer and that came out quickly as well. Unfortunately we waited 35 minutes between the time we finished our appetizer and the time we recieved our entrees. I had ordered a pick three combo and two of the three selections were incorrect. The server was very nice and the food tasted good. It's certainly not as good as the tex mex at some of the local places, but if you have a picky eater in your party who needs the standard chicken tenders and burger this isn't a bad choice in terms of taste. It was disappointing that the food took so long and then arrived incorrect. We were not offered any kind of discount or free dessert or anything like that. We were so excited to come here because years ago they had closed down the one in Gaithersburg. We originally were going to go to Texas Roadhouse but the parking lot was full so we turned into Chilis. We should have waited at Texas Roadhouse and just ate there. We were promptly seated and a waitress came by shortly after. My wife ordered coffee and then when it came out, it only had 2 creamers. She asked for more and it took 15 minutes for the waitress to come back over with the creamer. Instead, the waitress took an order for a big party first and then had to place it. My wife had cold coffee and then the waitress replaced it for her. They got our order wrong as well, but the manager fixed it as it was a misunderstanding. The quality of the food.... me thinks not! We ordered 2 ribeyes, which cost $17.99 each. I am fine with the price, if they actually brought out a decent steak. This was maybe 1/4" thick and the only real flavor was the melted butter on top. We didn't even finish and got a box to go to feed the rest to the dog. I almost feel bad doing that. It probably was our mistake thinking we could get a steak at here instead of a real steak house. The salsa for the chips is straight up gross. It is like they just poured it out of a can. I guess it isn't really salsa because there are no chunks of anything in it.
