Just ridiculous. Had my son working there as a host. upon interview he notified them he takes the bus to work and home and they said thats all fine and well, he's 16 years old. 2 weeks in manager "Jen" said they don't care about how he gets home they need him to stay past the last busses arrival essentially leaving him stranded having to walk home for an hour and a half. I'm working night shifts and we just moved here, nobody could help us and give him a ride home and several times I had to leave in the middle of my shift to pick him up and bring him home only because Chilis went back on their word and wanted him to stay an extra 30 minutes because they're so "busy" (5 minute wait) Moral of the story is the managers "Jen" or whoever could have hosted for 30 minutes at the end of the night so employees can get home safely, Especially the teenage Employees. Ended up coming gettin him there's plenty of other employers who care about their employees this one doesn't. read more

Ok so Friday i went to chili's for a bite to eat and a few drinks, and it was pretty damn good. I haven't been to a chili's in forever and I really wasn't disappointed, food was great I got the crispy chicken strips with some fries and yes it was very good. I also had the bacon chicken and ranch quesadilla, fabulous. Now for my drink I decided to do a margarita and that was nice and strong. The customer service was good but could've been better, the problem is that when you sit in the bar area you wait a little longer due to the bartenders making drinks for others and waiting on tables. So it's a little slow at time. But other than that it was great and I will return soon. read more

For starters went on a Saturday about 330-4 wasn't crowded after being seated then crowds started coming in about 20 min later. The food was good. Had the sampler as a starter. The seating service was horrible with alot of open tables and people on the waiting list to fill them. Myself and wife were standing by two chairs for twenty minutes There were additional two parties that were ahead of us. There were four (4) open two seater tables in the bar area that were available.. A couple that came in after us ask the manager if they could sit in the area and he told them that they could only sit at the bar. They sat at an open table and received service. I went to the manager and asked him if we could sit at the open two seated high table that we were on the waiting at until we were called. At that time there was only one other two person party ahead of us. The manager asked if we were on the waiting list and we were but we had to wait. At that time after couple came in and ask if they could sit in the open seats but he told that they can sit at the bar but they were allowed to sit in an open table. The manager acknowledge that we could sit at the open table. The message was passed to the waiter. Upon being seated the manager passed our table and asked the other tables if they were enjoying their dining experience. I was never rude or disrespectful to the hostess or the manager when I asked my question about the seating. There were at least three couples that left without being seated with open tables available. For better service, the staff needs training on how to use the seating chart to ensure more efficient customer service. I understand that it was dinner time rush but how do have open tables with people waiting for over 20 minutes. My family and I had a really pleasant dinner at this Chilis. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress name was, Whitney and she was awesome! It was busy, but the entire staff worked like a well oiled machine. The food was great! My drink was always full, my burger was cooked to perfection, and we didn't have to wait long for everything to arrive to our table. We've eaten here one other time and our waitress was really nice. This was our second visit to this location. Our first visit much better. We ate at the bar both times, but this time the service was lacking. Our margaritas went dry, no offer for another. Our water went dry, again no offer, and couldn't get her attention. I only give it 3 stars because the food was amazing. Their fajitas are our favorite in town. I have been to plenty of this chains locations across MD and the US. We first came to this location right after it opened. It was not pleasant to be kind. So we waited and came back a few more times. It was hit or miss on service and the food was mainly miss. This time it was a total bust. To start it took 10min to get the salad's. Then the server disappeared. Then the meal took another 10min or so and still no sign of the server. We asked for refills on tea and water from a manager. That manager passed our table 4X and still didn't deliver the drink refills. The absentee server did show up and took the dessert order. So to recap. The fajitas were luke warm but the pan was hot. The ribs over cooked and tough and the fries bland and old. So once again a poor performance at this location. read more

You know, for a chain restaurant, it wasn't too bad. The house side salad was the best I've had in years (though it was smaller than I would have liked). The rest of the food was a little salty, which is to be expected, but decent. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. One suggestion, though this would be for the corporate level: any reason you can't put a Portabella mushroom or mixed vegetable fajita on the menu? You already have most (if not all) of the ingredients on hand if you were to offer a mixed vegetable option. read more

The service was good and the food was tasty but left me feeling a little nauseous. Most of the menu is fried and tastes great but it is fried. Almost all their specialties are fried. Not a great place to go if you're looking to eat healthy but I think it's a solid place for lunch or dinner with the family. New restaurant to Frederick but not new most places. What to expect at Chilis? Tex-mex done right. Went tonight for the first time and it was outstanding. 30-45 minute wait but were seated in about 5mins due to call ahead seating. Our waitress was phenomenal and attentive but not over the top. Food was the best I've had at any chili's. I got the carnitas burrito, my father got the smothered chicken burrito and my mother got the Santa Fe salad. The place was packed and we received everything promptly (within 10-12 mins of ordering). I read the other two reviews and realize every restaurant has their quirks to work out when they first open but either way those reviews were not a fair representation of the restaurant and are probably more of a reflection on the specific staff they had waiting on them. Solid place, with solid food and a great vibe. I will definitely be going back. My one negative is there is barely any waiting space for a chain the size of Chili's. Everybody is crammed right in front of the door with seating for about 6 people waiting. read more

I just don't get why people (myself included) go to Chili's. I've been to this location a couple times and the food is ok at best. The thing is, you can get better food for cheaper at other places. We came yesterday because we had an infant, couldn't afford a long wait due to after-dinner plans and wanted to be able to order a cold beer. So I guess that's the draw; if you want an easy, kid friendly sitdown for drinks and sub-par tex mex you can come here just to say you "went out for dinner". This particular night I had the buffalo chicken salad. The chicken looked like it was tossed in buffalo sauce and forgotten about for a couple hours and the salad was overdressed and soggy. As far as chain restaurants go, I usually really enjoy chilis. I was excited that one was coming to Frederick. We went around 1:00 on a Sunday. It was busy, and they had just opened so we expected that. We only waited a few minutes to be seated. We were greeted and brought drinks right away. We ordered an appetizer and that came out quickly as well. Unfortunately we waited 35 minutes between the time we finished our appetizer and the time we recieved our entrees. I had ordered a pick three combo and two of the three selections were incorrect. The server was very nice and the food tasted good. It's certainly not as good as the tex mex at some of the local places, but if you have a picky eater in your party who needs the standard chicken tenders and burger this isn't a bad choice in terms of taste. It was disappointing that the food took so long and then arrived incorrect. We were not offered any kind of discount or free dessert or anything like that. Some kind of acknowledgement of our inconvenience would have gone a long way. read more

What a shame. Chili's used to be a good place to eat. No more. Ordered a "craft burger". Turned out to be a cr@p burger! Way, way over done. Bun was rock hard. They did make another one but it was worse than the first. Over cooked. No tomato , onion, or sauce. Fries were semi-lukewarm. Wife had a SantaFe salad. Entirely to much wrong to list here. But gotta give credit where it's due. The waiter, Brad, was tremendous. Knowledgeable, understanding, and a really nice guy. Will we be back. Probably not. Way to many other places to go. Ordered dinner for two menu with a Texas cheese fries, chicken fajita, pasta, and wow was the food bland. It's an insult to call them fajitas as fajitas should never taste that bland and rubbery. Pasta was no good and a pasta sauce bought at Walmart tastes much better than whatever was in there. Spoiled our Sunday dinner. Never eating at Chili's again. They really need a lesson in gastronomy and culinary art because food is an art and not just an act of filling tummies with stuff that doesn't please the taste buds.
