I hadn't been to a Chili's in years, and don't associate the chain with especially good food, but a friend suggested lunch there and I was impressed. She had the baby back ribs, a favorite of hers, and said they were wonderful, as was her loaded Mac and cheese. I went for the 5-piece Chicken "Crispers" and was served a huge pile of fresh crispy fried chicken. The fries were also very good and well-seasoned. I'm not a fan of Mac and cheese, so I substituted broccoli and got a generous serving of perfectly steamed florets. The sides were so good that I ended up taking more than half of the chicken home. Some tenders don't hold up too well when they're not fresh and hot, but these were delicious later that day--and even cold the next morning. Service was great and attentive. Payment got confusing. We made partial payment with a gift card, but the bill still seemed high to me. I looked at the receipt later, and it looked like a 25% tip was automatically added. I'm not sure on that--maybe my friend is just a generous tipper. I mention it mostly to note that some restaurants seem to be getting pushier on tipping policies. read more

Who knew!? That we would end up having such a fabulous dinner at the local Chilis here in Austin. We arrived into town late, so where do you go when you want to dine late and have a cocktail? That's right, Chili's! And they did not disappoint! The drink specials they were offering were right on point! We ended up having a few of those Titos Watermelon Spritz drinks because they were so good. My husband ordered the Ultimate Smokehouse combo and I had the guiltless steak dinner with asparagus which were cooked perfectly. I was very pleased with my dinner and cocktails. Terrible service- red hair bartender more interested in her hookup after shift that she completely ignored others who came for food, good service and to enjoy a night out. As stated all she cared about was her enjoyment after her shift with the two guys at the bar....Not a manager in sight anywhere - icing on the cake is I'm guessing now that she was the manager. The last time I ate at this Chili's in Austin, TX, next to the Drury hotel, the food I ordered and the chips they gave me to eat with the dip both had the aweful nasty taste of the use of old grease/cooking oil. So when I first walked in the host was amazing she greeted and sat us as soon as we walked in but than we waited for a little bit for a server but I understood that because there was a big table but when he came up to the table he didn't introduce or nothing than while we were seeing what we wanted to order for him to take down he walked away to a different table without say anything or excusing his self. We were here last week. The portions were relatively large, and the food was good, except the person preparing the to-go order included no plastic-wear. It wasn't a big deal because the hotel next door that we are staying at had disposable plastic wear for their buffet. Just a reminder for their team. We returned this week and the dining room is closed all week, with no explanation given, see picture. But, they do have to-go service, so their kitchen is not out of service, nor were they shut down for a health violation. How strange, and disappointing. So I called and asked the employee who answered why they are closed all week. She said she didn't know and was snotty...come on. My specification requests are taken care of most of the time (extra ranch, salsa on the side, etc.) All items for the meals typically are there (I've been shorted tortilla chips more than once). I'm always pleased with how well packaged the food is. As for taste, the food has always been standard Chili's fare, completely acceptable but not particularly notable. read more

I came to this establishment a bit after 3PM with another quest. When we arrived at this establishment, we were ignored by the host for at least 10 minutes. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server who seemed attentive. We ordered the following: Bottomless chips and salsa The salsa seemed to be "off" in the sense that it was peppery and not flavorful. I've had the salsa at Chill's many times but this particular batch lacked flavor. Cup of Southwest Chicken soup The soup was tasteless and lukewarm. There was maybe one sliver of chicken in the soup. "Shrimp tacos" I ordered the shrimp tacos, but got chicken tacos. So back the first round of tacos went. I waited approximately 13 minutes for my new tacos to be sent to me. When the shrimp tacos did arrive, the beans that accompanied it were cold. Southern Smokehouse Burger The fries for the burger were under-cooked. The burger patty itself was grilled but was unseasoned. I will not return because of lack of attention to detail and poor food quality. read more

Everything was great from my blackberry lemonade to my garlic breads it was just 10/10. The server sat us immediately and almost got the food out as soon we ordered. I'm a pretty fair person m, not really quick to judge anyone or a situation. Upon arriving everything was good, no complaints there. I went there with my wife and in-laws after church. All of us except my niece, who ordered the triple dipper, ordered their smokehouse special. 4 of us ordered half rack of ribs which cost an extra $3 with our meals. Everyone else but me had a true half rack of ribs when the food came out. When I mentioned this to the server, she shrugged it off like there was nothing she could do or say to help. So I ended up paying +$3 for a 1/4 of a half rack of ribs. Of course my tip was to treat your customers better and get better results. read more

Chili's has always been a go to of ours because the food is consistently pretty good. The service is somewhat inconsistent but hey... It happens. Tonight, GAME CHANGER for the level of hospitality we received from our bartender, Izzy. 1st - We were greeted by Izzy with a smile and cheerful attitude. Already a good start and more than we've been given at many establishments. 2nd - Izzy continued treating us just the same, even when we ordered ice water and no alcoholic beverages. My partner doesn't drink and I seldom do but we love to sit at the bar when we go out. We tip extra because of this, but bartenders usually make a judgement before we get to that part. Izzy did NO SUCH THING! He continued to show us his true character and we appreciate that more than he could know! 3rd - He was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted, exactly how we wanted it. All while doing the same for all of his customers and the bar area was quite busy. 4th - He's funny :) We had a little joke going and he took it to the next level with his sense of humor. Such a fun moment with someone who was a stranger to us 30 minutes prior. Honestly, I would like to frequent this Chili's solely based on our experience with Izzy. 10/10 recommend hanging with him at the bar! Completely terrible customer service. I placed a to-go order and was told it was ready and to come pick it up. I arrived and waited for 20 minutes thinking they may possibly be busy, but then decided to try and go inside and see what was going on. I immediately had the door locked in my face, got laughed at by the bartender, wish I knew her name all I can tell you is she has glasses and dark hair and was extremely rude and kept telling me they were closed over and over again when all I was trying to do was pick up my food that I was charged for but they refused to make for some reason. Hire better quality employees that actually understand what hospitality means and that actually care about customer service. Ordered the triple dipper (big mouth bites, Southwest egg rolls, mango wings) waitress said they are out of the mango wings, so ordered the honey chipotle they are out of that. Only choice was BBQ or dry wings. Just ordered extra big mouth bites. Order lime Margarita and a Patron blackberry margarita, they are out of both (no patron) we finally just asked what do y'all have??? Terrible customer service. I went out with a party of three, the restaurant wasn't even 1/3 full and we were left waiting over an hour for our food. We ordered 2 $3.95 margaritas and 2 Long Island teas while we were waiting. Eventually we got tired of waiting for our food so we just asked for our drink tab so we could leave. The "manager" brought us a bill which included and extra margarita that we didn't order! When we explained that we only ordered 2 margaritas, the manager got very defensive and would not take the extra drink off. So we stood up to go pay at the bar and the manager yells across the restaurant "so y'all are just going to leave and not pay for your alcohol!!" No ma'am! We were just going to the bar to pay. Honestly, we only ordered drinks because our food was taking so long! We insisted we pay for the drinks but she continued to be rude and disrespectful. I have never been treated like that in my life, especially when we were the ones that waited over an hour and never got our food! This Chili's is awful and the so called "manager" needs to learn some customer service. Now I see why this location is so dead. They are the worst! read more

We came to Chili's for a birthday lunch with a party of 6 once restaurants began to open up after quarantine. The restaurant appropriately addressed social distancing between tables and their staff all wore masks. I used to go to Chili's a lot as a kid, but haven't gone recently due to the many great Austin spots you could go to instead, however, the great thing about Chili's is there's no wait compared to a local Austin spot! We were seated immediately and ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer. The chips, as I remembered from the last Chili's I went to years ago, were super oily and yet you couldn't stop eating them. Many of my previous reviews state that I think a salsa is very telling about a restaurant and the salsa here was just okay. I ordered the Ancho Salmon for my entree and was pleasantly surprised! I don't think of the best food when I think of Chili's, but I was satisfied by my choice and though it was excellent for dining at Chili's. The salmon was cooked well, the spicy citrus-chili sauce was delicious, the broccoli was huge and the Mexican rice was good! I tried their Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers from my boyfriend's plate and they were pretty solid, although not as crispy as I was hoping they'd be. Overall, we had a great time here and enjoyed Chili's. I'm giving it 3 stars simply because when compared to other places I've been to, it can't really compare, however if I was just rating Chili's off of this sole experience I'd give it a 4.5 because it was an enjoyable experience! read more

Posting this review since Chili's gets no love in Austin. We came here (group of 7) because the Mexican place next door was 1.5 hour wait. We walked right in and were seated right away. I had a Bloody Mary. It was ok but not spicy at all but still hit the spot. We ordered fried pickles and they were hot and tasty. I ordered a steak and it was cooked they way I requested. Everyone else looked like they really enjoyed their meals too. Service was spot on throughout. They brought the kids meals first which is a really good idea. I wouldn't consider this a date night spot or anything but if you're hungry and need some good food they got you covered. I'm an LGBT+ community member and I felt safe and welcome here. read more

BEWARE! Don't do curbside delivery!!! Don't call them since no one will answer!!! In general, don't expect good services. To the condescending, perfidious four-eye girl at the curbside register. Please curved your attitude, be courteous to all your paying customers, and in general, know that it's your job. You have the control to remove yourself from working there if you need to, but as I can see your lack of effort to work you won't do it. To management, I understand that hiring people at this time is hard to find suitable personnel to work, but that young girl needs a refresher course in customer services. Her body language automatically indicates she doesn't want to be there, especially when she closes the blinds and has a condescending tone in her voice. If she is not able to handle the situation, she needs to be able to read the "room" and know when to get someone higher than her position. When it comes to answering the phones, someone should at least pick up the phone and state that 'we do apologize for the wait, please note that we are busy at the moment and we will be with you.' Instead, you leave the customer calling 3 times, and each time getting shorter to the last message indicating that there is no one to answer your phone call. It was faster for me to get my food somewhere else, than it was here, especially since I placed the order at 4:32 pm and did not have it given to me by 6:50 pm. Thanks, but no thank you! read more

Only came with jalapenos and sour cream, and they were SO soggy by the time my coworker got back with them 10 minutes later!
