I've only been here twice and it's walking distance from my place of employment. Honestly, I never remember they have a Highland location. Each time I've had an iced lavender latte, good both times. I've also had the lemon pound cake from Sour Duck as well as the brisket and cheese kolache from Kerlache. Both good as well. I'm interested in trying the ham & Swiss sandwich from The Green Cart. I like that they've got food collabs with three locals. They also have beer on draft. They have well-known breweries on tap. However, with Brewtorium right next door I'll stick with coffee or tea from Spokesman. Service is good. read more

Popped in with my group to grab a much needed caffeine boost before we continued with our day of bridal party festivities! The service was quick and the staff was super kind and patient! Everyone loved their drinks and I was super happy about my matcha! I can be a "matcha snob" and this spot definitely passed the test! They even hand whisked it! Chill environment with crux climbing next door. It's a fine coffee shop but the coffee taste is lacking though.

While waiting for the my group to arrive at the Brewtorium, I popped into Spokesman Coffee for a cold drink and some air conditioning. I was super intrigued by their graffiti all over their interior. Spokesman staff roasts their own coffee beans in-house, offering rotating offerings of espresso drinks, drip coffee, cold brew, and seasonal specialties. According to the barista, they source many of their items locally. It was scalding hot outside, so I decided to have some cold iced tea or should I say Weird Tea. Well, to be transparent, I have not had Weird Tea...ever. I always pride myself on trying new things. So, bottoms up! Nothing super weird about Weird Tea other than being plant-based (good) with organic caffeine (not so good...but better than non-organic, I suppose.) They have a happy hour everyday 4-7 PM. Beer and cider are $5. Folks were flooding in for the happy hour like they were giving away stacks of money many of which appear to be students. In general, it looks like a student hangout as about 6 laptops are firing away. I liked the creative vibe. It's rare for me to be in this part of the city, but will definitely pop in, if I am nearby. read more

The graffiti and walls are super cool! Got their seasonal latte that had raspberry in it and also a brown sugar latte. For the raspberry latte, I felt that the flavors were not complementary whatsoever and clashed. The brown sugar latte was also very watery and the coffee felt burnt. Cute spot though! read more

Came here for an ATX girls meet up for morning coffee! The space is actually smaller than I expected but it's clean and has a nice small upstairs area. The menu had some interesting items like the Beet Latte! I don't drink coffee but that sounds really nice. I ordered a matcha $6.5 which only came in one size--10oz according to the barista. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich $6 it was small but mighty! Very delicious but kinda expensive for the size. My matcha was really bland. I would not order one from here again. both the coffee and tea here are amazing! i loved both the seasonal drinks we got. the lover boy's cappuccino had a raspberry note that was sweet and tart, perfectly balanced with the creamy, smooth espresso. the sea salt earl grey matcha was just as good, robust and earthy without being too sweet, finishing with a subtle savory touch. i also love the art on the walls! it gives the space a lot of personality. the tables can be a bit small if you're trying to do work, but it's still a great place to hang out. i'll def be back :D read more

This was my first time here. The barista was really nice despite being the only one working and the place being super busy. The decor is fun and funky with lots of seating, including a second floor. I decided to try the rosemary latte with almond milk. It was delicious. I could taste the rosemary but it wasn't overpowering. Love this place as a WFH spot! The coffee is amazing and it is a nice place to hunker down. The only downside is that most of the chairs don't have a back rest, so be warned! There are a good amount of outlets too. It's also right by crux gym, which is really nice in case you wanna climb. Sometimes the music can get loud, but it's definitely dependent on the day. I also tried the Turkish tea for the first time recently, and it was really good! Definitely recommend if you're looking for something refreshing read more

I was in search of a coffee shop to check out but also do a little studying and stubbled upon Spokesman prior to visiting. It is nestled between Crux Climbing and Brewtorium that is not too far from Airport Blvd. There is plenty of parking in a lot as well as on street parking. The space is open plan with a mezzanine level filled with seating. Since the space has high ceilings and has more of a studio vibe, it does echo and it can get be loud for a coffee shop but it shouldn't be a problem if you have headphones. Limited seating below, more like benches. I appreciate how they have wall plug outlets along the bench and free wifi! I only give this place four stars because my taco was not hot even though it was in a food warmer. The almond joy latte was good but it didn't scream almond joy flavor wise. I do appreciate the simplicity of the coffee menu as sometimes it can get overwhelming. This space might not be an ideal spot to study but a cool spot to hang out with its spray painted drawings/murals along the walls! read more

The good: This is an Austin place through and through. The graffiti on the wall, the atmosphere in the shop, everything about it. The coffee is solid as well. They have all your basics, but then they have speciality lattes as well that are frequently changing out. Not too many options, but enough that everyone can find something (which I actually prefer) The not so good: I don't know if the person serving me was having a bad day or what, but she seemed irritated by the two questions I asked pertaining to the different coffees. Didn't really get a "welcoming coffee shop" vibe from her at all. I've been knowing about Spokesman for quite some time and I finally had the chance to run in for some desperately needed caffeination. Man, was I missing out. The second I walked in, I was captivated by the graffiti-styled art lining every inch of the walls. As always, I love a well lit space to study in and it had plenty of natural lighting and seating. The barista taking my order was relaxed and kind, and my freshly made iced latte was out in a jiff. I was sad to leave so quickly, but I'm so glad I took a chance and came in to try it. Wanted to work elsewhere and this was the spot as it had plenty of seating up, down and outside. Also quiet indoors. Very friendly staff as they made my latte and explained the unique breakfast menu. I had the kerlaches which I've never had and it was so good. I could've had more. I had a ginger latte which was a good serving. I mistake was made but wasn't a big deal, however I liked how they acknowledged it and were making another one without asking me as I didn't catch it. The coolest little coffee shop tucked in the same building as Crux Climbing. They have the coolest spray paint art on all of the walls. Every inch is something different and I could spend hours looking at everything drawn. Their 2nd floor overlooks the climbing gym which is ideal for people watching if you get tired at looking at the art. I tried their seasonal blueberry latte and it was delicious and perfect for a rainy cold day. They didn't seem to have too many seating options and the ones they had were geared toward smaller groups so keep that in mind if you are planning to stop by with a large party. read more

Stopped by for a latte, and was wowed by the artwork. It's a cozy little shop, and the balcony has a view of the climbers at the bouldering gym next door. Latte was tasty. Also got an iced chai, which was a little spicy chocolate milk for my taste but more or less what I've come to expect from American chai. Late start today - but found another coffee shop to meet my evening work needs! Spokesman coffee shares a building with the Brewtorium and Crux Climbing Center. The upstairs area actually has windows overlooking the climbing area. All three businesses share a decent sized free parking lot in addition to a good amount of street parking. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte and while they do have two choices of espresso the attendant did not ask or mention which would be in my drink. Regardless the espresso was sweet with a well balanced fruity and nutty flavor - if you try to avoid the more bitter coffee flavors this is a good espresso for you. I will say my 12oz latte was $5.55 which is a little higher than most places I have been lately. The coffee served and sold here is all roasted locally in Austin. Furthermore - everything sold here (from wine, to beers on tap, as well as the canned and bottled beverages) is from locally owned companies and made right here in Austin. So its really neat to see a local business supporting so many other companies in the area! The atmosphere is pretty casual and laid back. You can see in my photos the walls are all black and white graffiti style characture art (also by a local artist). There is some seating at the bar as well as on the main level with additional seating both outside and upstairs. I wouldn't consider it an abundance of seating but there was plenty of open space at least during my visit. Tables are a bit small if you are hoping to spread out at all though. Also worth mentioning - they have a "double happy hour" M-F from 12-3 and again from 6-9 featuring $3 pints. Overall they are a neat local business supporting various other small companies in the area. The coffee was really great quality and while it was on the higher end of price for the area I will definitely be back. read more

I knew I was going to like this place! At first I couldn't find it because it's sandwiched between two other businesses but they're all apart of the same building. This place is the perfect environment for getting some work done or coming with a friend and hanging out. It also overlooks a climbing gym which is so cool! A cute two story coffee shop located in between the crux climbing center and the Brewtorium. There's a huge shared parking lot that is surprisingly full on the weekdays; I assume that some of the parking is taken up by the nearby attractions since it was the middle of weekday. There are also a few parking spots out front. I ordered a mint matcha latte which was pretty good. The milk wasn't too hot and the matcha made it dark green. There were a couple of orders ahead so there was a slight wait but nothing crazy. The espresso bar is on the first floor and they also have a few beers on draft as well. There's also a number of seating options by the window and against the wall. There's also a cool second floor that has a view of the climbing center as well as several tables. There's an extension cord by the seats in the back of the second floor if you need juice. WiFi connection information is on the board on the first floor and second floor. As for ambiance - lots of early 2000s techno - this is your night! read more

It's not frequent that we take a sip of our drinks and comment in amazement, but that was exactly what we did when we picked up our coffee.
