    House margarita on the rocks

DIDN'T TASTE AS GOOD AS USUAL! In town for a day for in interview. Ubers from the airport were price surged so I decided to walk 1 mile to Chili's while the Uber prices cool down. I got the Cajun Chicken Pasta, a house margarita on the rocks, and chips and salsa. The chips tasted a bit soft? The pasta was a bit too Al dente and didn't seem as creamy as usual. (I go to Chili's at least once a month) Service was good! The food just didn't taste as good as it usually does at the locations back home. It was all still good!

I have had 3 deliveries later in the evening. Yea I'm that food nerd that cannot decide until too late, but if you are looking for a great local "Smash" burger then you have reached your destination. This is great!! Chandler the Mgr. And Michael are cooking up some good stuff in a pinch here. I got the Chili's burger with bacon. Juicy, crispy and so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I like it better than the other local farm, 5 peeps, etc.,deliveries I have experienced. I'm thankful for delivery! Just Do It!!

Understaffed, overpriced bland food did appear clean though. Wasn't impressed at all with this location.

There are even alcohol-free beers. And other soft drinks. So your designated driver won't feel too deprived. The noise level is quite high in the tap room. Weather permitting there is outside seating, but the menu outside is limited. There is preferred parking near the entrance for zero or low emission vehicles. Unfortunately, the electric vehicle charging ports are no longer in this location. The parking staff said the chargers are in a remote parking area. Never did find them, but fortunately did not need them. We arrived on Sunday around 1 pm and there was no wait. They do activate a waiting list when needed that you can get on as you drive there. Very few reservations are available. Maybe for large groups. But don't worry, they have a lot of seating and the tables turn over readily.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon after hitting a couple breweries in the Mills River area . The area that the taproom in is really beautiful with mature trees and it's a huge facility . We parked and walked inside and headed to the bar. I got a flight and my boyfriend got an IPA. I thought the beers were really good and I liked that there was some that you couldn't find anywhere else . We also ordered some duck fries that were so dang good . As we waited for our food , we went to do a self tour of the brewery and that was great to see the history of Sierra Nevada and the different rooms that the processing occurred in. After our food we cashed out and took the remainder of our beers to their outdoor area . Once you pass by their amphitheater you went down this trail towards a little river and we went farther still and there was this whole field of yard games and tables that you could sit and enjoy right next to the rushing river (French Broad River) . All the staff that we encountered with was very nice and knowledgeable. Just a really fun atmosphere to be in where even the staff looked like they were enjoying themselves . I would highly highly recommend stopping in!

We went with the club sandwich with fries and the lasagna with a Caesar salad. Both were delicious. Portions are very good. Neither of us could finish the meals! The waitress was great and the ambiance is very nice. My only negative would be the prices. Some are fine, but most are a bit high. Even the sides. But, it was worth it!

Though we came at lunch time, we were provided with the dinner menu (so I guess it's all-day dinner on weekends). I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes as a starter, which is served with feta cheese and a balsamic reduction. The tomatoes were thickly cut and ate a bit clunky. Because of their size, I think there was some steaming action going on, as the tomatoes were soggy on the inside. I always enjoy a balsamic reduction, and liked the flavor on the dish overall. They were heavy-handed with the feta. This was the first time that I had fried green tomatoes served with feta - I'm used to a fresher topping such as a corn salsa. Regardless, the batter on the fried green tomatoes was delicious - I have high confidence that any of their battered dishes would be equally satisfying! I opted to order the bruschetta flatbread as my entree. It was loaded with toppings - tomatoes, spinach, goat cheese, grilled chicken, and more of that tasty balsamic reduction. It's typically served as a starter, so this is another dish that's great for sharing. My sister ordered the homemade southwestern chicken soup. This is definitely a southern-style soup - think cream-based... almost dip/queso-like. It was also served with tortilla chips as a garnish. She also ordered a side of the rice pilaf which was a generous serving size for a side - we thought it would be a small bowl size, but it was a whole plateful. However, it was way too salty. One of their signatures is their Gyro Pita Sandwich, which comes with a side of fries. We were able to swap the plain French fries for their sweet potato fries, which are always a hit. The menu describes this dish as the real deal and hey- no complaints! The gyro was tender and flavorful and comes with tzatziki. This is a solid dish. Service was friendly but not super present. We would have to flag our waitress down for drink refills and weren't really checked on once the food came out. It's a pretty casual but also busy place, so I'm not expecting to be waited on hand and foot, but they could bump up the attentiveness a hair. Food and ambiance were good overall... nothing amazing, but it's a safe bet. Stone Ridge Tavern has a good variety of dishes offered on the menu. I recommend this place for large groups - there's something for everyone - and I was pleased with portion sizes.
