DIDN'T TASTE AS GOOD AS USUAL! In town for a day for in interview. Ubers from the airport were price surged so I decided to walk 1 mile to Chili's while the Uber prices cool down. I got the Cajun Chicken Pasta, a house margarita on the rocks, and chips and salsa. The chips tasted a bit soft? The pasta was a bit too Al dente and didn't seem as creamy as usual. Service and ambiance were fine, as were the appetizers and most side dishes. My problem us with the Chicken Crispers. I've been tolerating these new chewy stringy things they call Chicken for the past couple of years and it's going to stop. I can get better tenders from a grocery store deli at less than a third the price. I know the bean counters are probably dictating these changes, but other restaurants better handled the covid shutdown by adjusting portions or prices, not by changing to a crap recipe. Bring back the old Crispers recipe, charge and extra nickel, and enjoy the profit from customers returning and sharing their experience. While you're at it. In town for work this past week, and I basically had a hankering for their skillet queso. I ordered take out, and it is super convenient they will have you park in designated spots by the take out window and now bring the meal out to your car. No hassle of going in. If you're in a hurry this is nice. So the Skillet Queso is as good as I remember. Gooey, salty, and has some seasoned ground beef which is a nice touch. They give you waaaaaaaay more chips than you need. The disappointing side is that because it's take out, and they make the chips on site- they're mostly broken so you're fishing inside for decent sized chips to use. I also ordered penne pasta with shrimp. It was tasty- the packaging didn't lend itself to keeping the food warm. It was a thin clear PET clamshell. Great for recycling, but bad for food temp. It wasn't inedible, but I was eating cold pasta at the end. My hotel was 2 miles from Chilis also. That being said, this is exactly what you should expect when you go here or to any chain. You're going to get a known item, you will know how it will taste, and while it's nothing earth shattering in terms of unique meals, it's going to get that job done. I'll be back. I have had 3 deliveries later in the evening. Yea I'm that food nerd that cannot decide until too late, but if you are looking for a great local "Smash" burger then you have reached your destination. I hate to do this because I do like Chili's but this was the worst experience I've had at one for years. Me and another person went to this location together. They were served way before me and I had to wait about 20 minutes just for them to make a burger. A BURGER. The fries also came out cold. When the manager brought out replacement fries it was 1/2 the amount of the fries that came with the burger. They were supposed to bring a side of mayo and didn't so I waited longer while my burger got cold just for condiments. When they did bring mayo it was one of those tiny black one ounce cups and it was 1/4 of the way full. Really? Meanwhile we run out of drinks while our server is literally SITTING DOWN AT ANOTHER TABLE talking to someone instead of being attentive. This was also a super slow time they were not busy at all, obviously. Originally we were going to go to Olive Garden. I should've just went with the flow instead of suggesting chilis. After the person I watched eat was finished they had to sit there and watch me eat. What a horrible experience. We recently moved to North Carolina. We went to Chilli's about three (3) weeks ago and were very dissappointed! While our server was very good, everything else was sub-par. I'm certain that the difficulty in find people willing to work has an impact on this facility but I don't see how they are going to survive. Dirty plates were still on a large number of empty tables which indicates that they are low on staff. And, the food was not good. For one, my ribs were heavily salted. My wife and grand-daughter didn't care for their food as well. Usually you can't go wrong with Chili's for a decent meal, fair price and late nights when everything else is closing or closed. Welp This has to be one of the most disappointing Chili's I've ordered from. I understand accidents happen and with a lot of orders mistakes can be made but burning shrimp on one side and feeling like it's ok to still place them on top of someone's Alfredo (intentionally flipping some over on the other side) was just disrespectful. In addition the noodles were gummy. I ordered through door dash so i called the restaurant directly and explained what happened. The lady who answered the phone cut me off mid sentence and told me to hold for a manger. No apology or anything... i called around 10:35pm (ish) the restaurant closed at 11pm. Only to be place on hold for 15mins then hung up on. I called back and told the lady i was on hold still eating on a manager and she laughed and hung up. I called back 3x's after that to have someone pick up, not say anything and hang up. I called from another number finally a lady name "Cat" picked up who informed me she was a manager. She was nice but couldn't undo the frustrations on the night. Times are hard, some of us are just getting back to work. I don't like wasting money. The worst food and service I have ever experienced. Do NOT ever order the shrimp. It was basically frozen shrimp from a bag at Walmart that are tiny and tastes like rubber. Nobody could pay me to eat here. Our server never refilled drinks or checked on us. I had steak and I'm not sure I could call it that. the "ribeye" was very pale coloring like pork and had no seasoning at all. Not even salt and pepper.
