Adorable spot right in the heart of downtown! The interior is bright, colorful, and has a really fun vibe. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. There's a great variety of tacos and they're generously sized and full of flavor. I'd absolutely order the Greek chicken taco again. The drunken pig wasn't quite my favorite (mostly due to the beans). Definitely ask for the house-made hot sauces. They're fun to sample and add a nice kick. My mango chili Margarita was delicious! It was straight downhill from there. I had the enchilada plate: chicken, beef, and cheese. The beef inside was grainy and mealy. I didn't know they made chicken pellets, and didn't expect them inside my enchilada! The cheese was gluey. Refried beans were tasteless. Couldn't wait to try this chain. First thing we noticed is that people all around us were adding salt to the chips and the salsa. Sure enough when we got ours it needed salt. Note to self- the mild salsa is for granny. Next time try what they call hot for some spice. Super watery and foamy. Removed the clear liquid and added some salt and it was better. Bean dip needed salt too. Thick but good. Server was busy and not chatty at all but did refill drinks without asking. Cheapest soda $2.50 I've had about anywhere so that was a nice surprise! Bang Bang Shrimp on flour was excellent. Shrimp were huge, crispy and temperature hot! The Don Mignon was super tender (filet) well seasoned and will definitely get again. Grilled Birria De Res was sooooo tender and flavorful also. The melted cheese grilled on the tortilla with the fresh cold onions and cilantro felt authentic and will definitely get again. Chipotle Shrimp was bigger than expected on a taco, so that was nice. Seasoned and grilled perfectly . Served with crispy cabbage. Mexican street corn will prob not get again. Flat. Keeping hot- hot and the cold stuff cold was perfect and will definitely get again. Saw the table next to us get churro's and of we could have fit them in our stomach- we would have too. I have really tried to love this restaurant, but each time I go, I am reminded why I don't love it. The tamales have too thick of masa layer and not enough meat. The chips and salsa are good, but the "spicy" option is not spicy at all. The rice is greasy. The refried beans consistently are bland. The tacos (ground beef) are really greasy. I DO like the chicken enchiladas. The chicken fajitas taste great. The tortillas are a disappoint, and taste store bought. Sorry Tipsy, I have given you multiple tries, and you will still get me business occasionally, but I can't LoVe you. read more

1. Very sweet margarita. I got the jalepeno one and it was the sweetest margarita I have ever had. Margaritas shouldn't taste like candy 2. Bland tacos. I got bang bang shrimp and the shrimp had way too much batter and were very very rubbery and chewy 3. Chips were good but it would have been nice to have gotten more for what we paid 4. Thought it was reasonably priced until we were about to leave and they told us they forgot to put our 4 tacos on the bill so they had to type up an additional bill for the tacos. 5. Tables were too spaced out. There were almost no two tops. They could have had twice the number of people seated if they had put more thought into the table layout but instead had couples sitting at 6 person tables read more

I struggled with leaving a review or not as I am in the hospitality industry. But I think it is important that people understand their choices in town and that hopefully ownership at some point will notice. I'm not going into all of it and I give so much grace for a busy Friday night. We ordered chips and queso---and my gosh. The queso was wonderful! We each ordered 2 different tacos and they were fantastic! The GVL taco was my favorite! We got right in on a Saturday night and the place was busy! We ordered our food and got the chips with the dip trio-queso, avocado ranch (literally the best one but just seemed like salad dressing) and salsa. The chips were good but had no salt. The dips were really not great. The queso was just basic melted cheese and didn't have any flavor. The salsa was so,so bland. We tried mixing the queso and salsa but it really didn't help. My birria taco was delicious,once I requested my missing dipping sauce. The Nashville hot taco was ok but there was some kind of wilted slaw on it that was unpleasant. The street corn was really bad. It had a sprinkle of cheese on one side and nothing else. No flavor at all. I tried to eat it because it was $5, but actually had to tell the server how bad it was. She brought the manager over and he offered a new one and then took it off the bill when I said no. The food was just basic, it really had the potential to be great but they need to use some seasonings and salt! There was a charge for paying with credit card and after we left I saw we were charged for an extra soda that we did order or receive. We ate lunch here for the first time: You have a choice of eating outside, inside, or in the garage, an adjoining area. We started with the guacamole and chips. Really good. They are the very thin chips which we love. I got the Grilled Birria de rez, which I loved. My spouse got the Old School and GVL Steak Tacos. Good size portions and delicious. They give you large drinks when you order sodas. The service was excellent and I appreciated that the owner swinging by the table to check in. As a local , Tipsy Taco has been a huge success. I went the first week for the grand opening and I keep coming back with family and coworkers for drinks. I highly recommend Tipsy, they are quick at sitting you down, and ensuring you're food comes out in a quick and efficient manner. The servers are friendly with charisma. I had the Margarita Flight, and a Steak bowl along with a GVL taco , it was all amazing. They have outdoor seating feasible to take your furry ones while strolling Main Street. Horrible experience! Go to El Paso next door instead!! My husband just ran a half marathon and we stopped by to celebrate with food and drinks. Colleen was our server and she was very unpleasant. I asked what juices they offer with mimosas and she replied "the standard". Why couldn't she answer the simple question? She proceeded to name off 5 juices that were not on the menu. Service was very poor for lunch yesterday. We almost walked out which I have never done at a restaurant in my life. I am a server and understand being busy and just opening. The owner offered us 50% off our tab to which she expressed several times during the whole visit "they never do that". Starting off three of us just ordered water to drink and another ordered a pina colada to which she got way before we got our waters. We had to ask 3 times for them! Even after we placed our food order. When we first arrived a waiter placed chips and salsa on our table then walked away. Not being here before we assumed this was like other Latino restaurants that give that as a complimentary item. When our server came over she was upset with US that it was on our table. I explained we thought it was complimentary to which she denied and pointed at the menu where it was. She then commented and pointed at the table it was supposed to go to saying look, they are upset they haven't gotten it yet. Putting the blame on us. Aside from the service, the food was also pretty poor. I got the potato tacos and the potatoes were not cooked fully, a side of rice that was not fully cooked, the beans were decent but nothing to write home about, and the fried mushroom taco which I did enjoy. A friend ordered the street corn that was just corn with cheese on top. No tajin or mayo. We were excited to try this new place but were sad it was such a fail. We will not be returning for any reason. There are plenty other good Latino restaurants and I'd rather take the trip to Asheville if I have to. read more

Went twice just to make sure 1st night wasn't just a one off. 1st time the meet on the Korean taco was so tough and cheery I couldn't eat it. The Greek taco was so spicy I couldn't eat it either. Nacho chips nor anything else have salt. 2nd visit tried cheese nachos. We had big hopes walking in, as the menu posted outside looked like it had great options. After being seated, it quickly went downhill. I'll just suffice to say that the food tasted like it all came from a plastic bag or can, and was tasteless and gross. The tamales tasted like chalk, the lettuce was old, the pico was some fresh tomoatoes mixed with mostly canned tomatoes. The margaritas were too sweet, and there was no option to upgrade, as it's all preprepared. It was literally the worst cheapened americanized mexican food I've ever had, and it was premium priced. First time visit. Thursday 6:00pm Travelers Rest location. Service was very good and the pricing was on par with other similar establishments. Parking is a hassle and over the last two years, two separate restaurants have failed at this location. Ordered two draft beers and they were not cold. Most "Mexican" restaurants which we frequent on a regular basis have ice cold beer. Kinda' important when you just waked 300 yards in 90dg heat. Restaurant had very poor lighting and we were unable to read the menu. Thank goodness for flashlight on cellphone. For us, once and done. Passing thru town which is absolutely beautiful and stopped in Tipsy taco which I'm already familiar with as I frequent the Easley location I might say I was absolutely blown away by the staff at this store and the food was to die for.
