For events we grill our own proteins/meats and order catering trays of their famous broasted shack potatoes and Coleslaw. I don't like Coleslaw but all of my family and friends claim it to be the best. Everyone at our gatherings always rave about the potatoes. It's a must try! They employees provide exceptional customer service and they package the food very well so that nothing spills over. I highly recommend using them for all your catering needs. I placed a simple delivery order. When it arrived, 2 of the 4 items in my order were missing and 1 of the 2 I did get had hair in it. I didn't see the hair until I pulled it out of my mouth. When I called, I was met with a "sorry for your luck" response and that I'd have to contact Uber Eats to get satisfaction...they could do nothing for me. When I pressed the issue, the kid I talked to said he'd get his manager and put me on hold. After a couple of minutes, the same kid portrayed himself as the manager and reiterated the same message. I asked what happened to my order. and the 2 guys scrambled around and said it was cancelled. I had a receipt and had to wait again no apology nothing extra. The manager did not say a thing. Absolutely delicious. I am an absolute fiend for fried chicken and this place blew all my other favorite spots out of the water. For around $14 you get a massive amount of chicken, a generous side, and a biscuit. The chicken itself was tender and clearly better quality than typical fast food. For my side I opted for the shack potatoes per my cousin's recommendation and oh GOD they were good. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. Even the "biscuit" on the side (which I'm pretty sure was just a king's Hawaiian roll) was delicious with everything. If I had any complaints it would be that I didn't love their bbq sauce - it was a little sweeter and tangier than I personally like, but will chalk that up to a matter of preference rather than an actual downside. It was my first time being here and I did see the note on the door claiming with everything going up, chicken is too expensive that they had to increase the prices on their menu. Updating my review. I think I've been here about four times now, each time with a Groupon. I usually get the 6 pc chicken bites meal. Unfortunately, right now during COVID-19 they have a limited menu, and they no longer have the fried mushrooms or onion rings, so I normally get the Shack potatoes, which are buttery and tasty. Today, my boyfriend got the 8 ribs "rib meal" but I'm pretty sure they gave us like 16 ribs, it was huge! He got French fries as his side and there was a generous portion of those too. Overall, I find Chicken Shack to be a bit pricey--my meal was about $9.69 and the 8 pc ribs meal was about $16.99--but I think I paid about $7-8 for $20 in Groupons, so that was a decent deal. read more

The manager I encountered was verbally aggressive. I came in to pick up my order. I was not told when I ordered when the order would be ready, so immediately inquired from the server at the counter how long my order had been sitting there. He was not even allowed to respond because the female manager barged in and accosted me with a verbal litany about when orders are ready and on & on. I asked her to please let me talk to the young man that was there. I didn't need to talk to her. I told her I felt she was being aggressive and to stop. Well that ended up with the mail manager coming over asking me what was wrong and again I told him she was being verbally aggressive. I just wanted to pay for my order and leave. OMG! Now, he steps away; she goes to the register and rudely processes by order. They were obviously fooling around, laughing and yelling louder and louder to each other. It was elementary school playground nonsense. I tried my local Chicken Shack tonight. Cooked fresh so it's about a 10 minute wait, but worth it. Service was great. Pricier than drive-thru fast food. But tastier. Not at all what I had expected or hoped for. Noon on a Thursday, thought it would be busy,...I was the only one there (should have been a clue for me to leave right then). Ordered a chicken strip dinner, the girl told me it comes with 2 sides, she listed them and I picked onion rings. She didn't even ask for my second choice so I thought maybe they counted for 2? Come to find out, they are an up charge. When my order finally came up from the cook, the girl from the counter questioned his reading ability because he didn't put something other than onion rings in the box. So here's where things started getting worse. He opened the box, removed the incorrect side (I think it was potatoes) and he just left the box open on the counter with the chicken in it, just sitting there getting cold while he fried some onion rings. BTW, worst onion rings ever!, see pic. Needless to say, my chicken was cold, the onion rings were terrible and 1 small container of dipping sauce isn't near enough for 5 pieces of chicken. And the chicken batter isn't anything to write home about either. That meal (pic below) with a bottle of water was over $16. Not the best value meal! As I was leaving the parking lot, I saw a Pot Pie place that I wish I would have tried instead, or even the Chinese place next door. Called and ordered a 4 piece dinner at 4:00pm and asked for the chicken to be fresh cooked, as too many times I have received dried out chicken or its mixed with fresh cooked chicken at this Clawson location. So the person on the phone, whom I assume her name is Liz, says to me "all our chicken is fresh cooked" which I said that wasn't true and explained the situation to her. Pick it up and get it home and its cooked through but so soggy on the outside the skin slipped off. Disgusting mess. So I wrote an email to Chicken Shack and their response was "to go in the location and order instead of calling"????? Kind of defeats the purpose of "pickup" How about a refund for the almost 17.00 dollars I paid for it. This person obviously did this on purpose because of what I said to her.
