Spicy Grilled Chicken & Cajun Fries

Not a name dropper. Don't care who ya know. That being said I'm gonna break my rule. Rose took a second to be kind, patient & was an employee Savvy Slider's I'm sure is proud to be to currently employing. I'm not sure why I'm comfortable giving these guys as much money as I do, but I guess I'll try to figure it out while I bang this review out so Yelp stops asking stuff & sending me notifications, geez, lol. 12 something dollars Pop ... free refills 2 sliders, fresh buns Freshly grilled chicken, not chewy or weird. I do substitute fried chicken every other time. Crisp shredded lettuce. The spicy jalapeños & carrot topping is why I order this slider, I ask for extra, and they don't disappoint. Krinkle fries heavily dusted w cajun spice per my request, I use these as a vessel to eat the ketchup.... You tell me, think it's worth it? I feel like I get my moneys worth after I leave, and I always wanna stop in and grab something, I'm thinking I like these Savvy Sliders.... Keep up the good work guys & thanks for the dessert Rose!

I don't know why I'm like this: I'll have errands to run out in the burbs but I'll putter around my house and not eat, then jump in my car and end up starving and hangry by the time I get to [insert suburb name here]... Madison Heights in this case. Stuck at a light, look up drive thrus near me and Savvy Sliders pops up. I've heard the name but never been. Drive thru is thankfully not crazy packed, order the combo box so I can try the Classic and a fried chicken sandwich. You get your choice of fries and I thought "oh, can I get non-crinkle fries?" (Never been a fan) but no, it's a choice of seasonings. Cool. I hate that red seasoning you find on most places in these parts. I order plain fries. Bonus, they have Dr. Pepper! Roll up and pay and wait for a few minutes. They were making that burger and the fries fresh cause they were too hot to eat for a few minutes. I like the box it comes in and you're definitely paying for it but the prices also belie the quality of the food. That classic slider was phenomenal for a drive thru burger, heck maybe even up to par with a decent sports bar slider. Or maybe I was just really hungry.... The fried chicken wasn't as good or as hot as the burger, but still one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever gotten from a drive thru. Needed more mayo! And surprise, the fries were good. I should have said "salt" instead of "plain" cause I feel like they didn't salt them at all but they were still the best crinkle fries I've ever had. I still only ate about half of them because once they went cold, it was all over for them. I wouldn't order SS for delivery unless you had an air fryer at the ready to warm everything up because it just didn't hold up five minutes off the grill or out of the fryer. That's not a bad thing, it's just what it is: perfect as a drive thru, eat in the car snack to get you to the next place...or to start looking at and see if there's one closer to your house so you can do more research... Like, I think if I order the kids meal with an extra slider, is that the right fries to sliders ratio?

This my experience with savvy sliders today. I'm sure others have had a similar experience and I've heard it from a few close friends that have shared a similar experience pertaining to their "Happy Hour". Their food isn't the problem, but their service and ethics are questionable. I've had multiple bad experiences with them this year and I they're ripping people off. Pay attention to your receipts.

First time order and we'll be back. We bought way too much food so we could try a little of everything. Burgers, chicken sandwiches (different kinds) and the fish sandwiches. Four kinds of fries and four different desserts. Everyone was very happy with what they tried. I ordered through the online website. It was quick and easy. The website said the order would be ready in 30 minutes, but when I checked in at 20 minutes they were just finishing up the order. All in all, I was very happy with my first experience. I can't wait to try a couple more items (kakob and falafel) and revisit the fish sandwich that I really liked. All four of the fries were good, I liked the sweet potato fries best. All of the desserts were delicious; I did not expect this from a slider joint. Give it a go, but don't order crazy like I did. Although everything was crazy delicious. Now time for a nap!

*This review is regarding customer service, I did not get a chance to try the food* I live in the area and was eager to try this new establishment. I have a personal rule not to order anything from a restaurant a half hour before close, so I checked the website and it stated they were open until 10:00pm. I placed my order at 9:00pm, received a confirmation email, and my credit card was charged. I arrived at approximately 9:10pm and they were in the process of closing. They young man taking out the trash told me they were closed, and after explaining the situation he told me to go to the drive thru. As soon as I pulled up I was told they were closed. I explained the situation to a 2nd young man, to which his response was "Nothing we can do, you have to call corporate." He did not apologize, nor provide me the number when asked. I asked to speak to the manager, Ferris, and explained the same thing for a 3rd time. He also stated there was nothing he could do since they had just put cleaning chemicals on the grill, and that I should call corporate. I left very angry, and about 15 minutes later he called me (while I was at a McDonald's drive thru) and said he could make the order. I was not comfortable having something made on a grill full of chemicals so I declined. He did apologize. I emailed Savvy Sliders including the screen shot of the email containing the order number and time, and received an email back fairly quickly, asking me to send a screen shot of my banking information, without even an apology. Really? I could not believe they not only did not apologize, but requested a screen shot from my bank to prove I made a 16.00 order instead of doing the research to see it was placed? I found this to be flat out lazy and extremely poor customer service. I will not spend any money there as a result of this. I understand mistakes happen, but to act like they didn't care, not apologize, and make me spend my time getting the eventual refund was a deplorable way to treat a customer. Happy's Pizza owns Savvy Sliders so I will not be getting anything from there any more either based purely on principal.

So this review is more of a solid 3.5. It wasn't a 3 but I couldn't give them a 4. I will definitely try them again. The place has only been open for a short time and already has a pretty long drive thru line. The inside of the restaurant was super clean and the employees that we encountered were very nice as they explained how some of the items worked. I did notice there were menu price changes that were different than what was posted by the owner a week ago. We ended up order two #1 combos and a #7 which allows you to choose any two sliders. I got the Angus beef as well as the Ribeye slider. The ribeye slider was more like a Philly cheesesteak... It was good, I liked it. I was disappointed in the Angus beef slider... it wasn't customized how I asked... not that big of a deal, but it was cold. Which made no sense because we were the only table there inside waiting for food, aside from the drive thru. It was ordered without pickle and tomato so that wouldn't explain why it was cold with unmelted cheese. One of the #1 combos was also eaten at the restaurant. Both burgers were also cold with a cold slice of cheese. Sliders are supposed to be small delicious greasy melted gooey cheesy goodness and unfortunately it was a fail. The other #1 combo was a to go order that was meat and cheese only so at least his were hot since he microwaved once we got home with them...It's $10 a combo meal which is definitely pricey. Although they have more toppings and other options available, I can go to White Castle, Telway, Seeburgers for a lot cheaper. Even Red Robin with free French fry refills...I'll try them again since it is brand new. I do have to give them credit on the French fries. I normal hate crinkle cut fries, but they have a few different seasoning options. I went with the house seasoning which made the normal super boring flavorless fries really good. The fries were hot and they have homemade ranch for dipping!

Sadly Boodles missed the mark on almost every level. We made reservations for Saturday night in mid…read moreJanuary. Since this was our first visit we didn't know what to expect but the reviews looked good. We arrived to a packed house and I was surprised how small and crammed it was inside. Dumpy is tree he word is use to describe the inside. Peeling paint and stained ceilings. Ventilation system look like it was straight out of the 70s and never maintained since then. I never thought I'd have to worry about Legionnaires disease but this is the place that stuff like that starts in. Tired, old and dingy inside. I'm not opposed to dive bars and restaurants, in fact I love them but Boodles paints themselves as upscale dining with prices to support that. It's anything but. The tables are crammed very close together and you can't help but bump into the people dining next to you to get to your table. I've been in small, intimate restaurants before with the same type of tight configurations but this was almost ridiculous. We ordered a round of drinks. A Cosmopolitan for me and an Old Fashioned for the boyfriend. The people next to us had a group of 6 and they mentioned they have been waiting for almost 2 1/2 hours for their main course. That was another bad sign. Our drinks arrived and were very lackluster. All you could taste was booze which isn't a bad thing if you were ordering it straight or just on the rocks but a steakhouse like Boodles should know how to make a quality Cosmo and Old Fashioned. We ordered the bread service which doesn't come with dinner and was an additional $6. Nothing to write home about even though they claim it's their homemade sourdough. Personally I didn't feel it was worth six dollars. We each got a Caesar salad and while the salad was a nice portion it was lacking in flavor and very little dressing. We waited for our waitress to come and check on us to ask for a side of additional dressing but she never came around. We ate the salad and finished our round of drinks. I was already skeptical on ordering a main course because everything up until this point had been a miss. Against my better judgment I ordered their signature item: Steak Diane prepared table side. My boyfriend ordered the 16 ounce ribeye. Both entrées come with a side of their lyonnaise potatoes. While we waited for our entrées we each ordered a glass of the house Cabernet. They do give a generous pour so that was a plus. After waiting almost an hour they started to prepare the Steak Diane. It was cool to watch them prepare it table side and after waiting almost an hour I was happily hungry with anticipation. I wish I could say it was halfway decent but it was overcooked. I ordered my steak medium rare in hopes that if it does come out a little more than medium rare it's still pink and flavorful. It was grey inside with no pink at all. Even the sauce it was cooked and was devoid of flavor. How is it possible with all the butter and the garlic they were using it was still lackluster? My boyfriend did say his steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was excellent. The lyonnaise potatoes were also tasty. This was the best part of the entire dining experience other than leaving. After our waitress came back to check on us I told her I was not happy with my main course and that I would like to send it back. She asked if I wanted something else and I said no thank you I'll just take the check. They did take my steak off the bill since I had only tried one bite. My boyfriend had his steak packaged up to go. We just wanted to get out of there at that point. What was surprising is nobody seemed to care or even inquire what they could do better to improve the situation. Every staff member we encountered was very nonplus which makes me think this is not an isolated incident. After paying our bill we walked by a group of people coming in for dinner. They asked us how everything was and I said well we are leaving and if you leave now you can save yourself three hours of your time only to be disappointed.

Perhaps the best saganaki I've ever had. Great waitstaff. The owner's name is Bruno. He's an old Italian guy and a character to say the least. We always order the ribeye. New York strip. Lamb chops. All very good top-notch. Drink portions are good and not crazy price. The ambience is super retro. It feels like an old mountain pop restaurant. I really love it
