Whenever I crave Mediterranean food, I'd come here since it's quick and very casual compared to the restaurant. The garlic sauce is AMAZING here! My dad will eat it with his rice if I have leftover sauce, but the last few times I've come here, I've demolished it completely. The rice is good and the hummus is excellent. Service is alright. They pretty much leave you alone after they give you food, which is cool because sometimes I just don't like to be bugged. I'm WAY too busy stuffing my face with pita bread and hummus. Please. I love this place for takeout it has a very small dining area and outside patio area. The food is delicious, it is a bit pricey but well worth it. It appears to be a family owned business which I love to support. Just make sure you order chicken before 7PM because sometimes they run out. It's a very popular place and I prefer it to the other Mediterranean type restaurants in the area. read more

Aptly named Chicken KING, this place serves up the crispiest chicken skin I've ever had on rotisserie style chicken...ever. I think I met the owner both times I wejt there. And Chicken King he is! And a really nice guy too. Seriously, the skin stuff is like a chicharon. Lucky for me, the 2 nights I went to C.K.E. was exactly at 7pm when the chicken was just being pulled off the heat so the skin hadn't had a chance to cool down and loose it's texture yet. Yay me! Tried it out for the first time tonight. We ordered three kebab plates - beef, chicken lule and chicken. Each one was delicious and really fresh tasting. All the meats were perfectly cooked, the rice addictive. We don't live in the immediate area but ate here because of a coupon we received in a magazine. However, we will no doubt come again and pay regular price. It's better than the majority of Middle Eastern restaurants in Pasadena and the person that worked the front was super nice and friendly. Never knew this place existed, but was curious when I saw how many reviews it had! I picked up the Full chicken family meal during Covid-19, unfortunately, I called right after they raised their prices. $31.95 for a rotisserie chicken, rice, hummus, salad, and a pack of pita. I can get the same meal at Zankou for $7-8 less, minus the salad. The flavor was good, but I couldn't justify the price difference. This is my favorite place for roast chicken. The flavor and texture of the skin is awesome! And often the chicken portion is quite huge for not too much money. The inside is small, so I usually take it to go. The people are very friendly. Parking is easy. It's a lot closer to me than Zankou, so I've been coming here for all my roast chicken cravings. I tried the chicken and beef kebob plates once. The meat was less than I would have liked, especially on the beef, but the flavor was absolutely wonderful! The wrap was ok. So obviously with the name, I should just stick with the chick. I always come back for the roast chicken and wrap it with the pita. Then stuff the yummy garlic sauce in. I would love to try the food and write a proper review of this cute little hole in the wall, but unfortunately the entirety of the staff were not wearing masks, and felt no need to welcome us into the store (presumably because all of us were wearing masks). With the delta variant running rampant and the new LA county guidelines, it is foolish for a business, not to mention a food business, to be maskless right now, vaccine or no. Perfect falafel combo plate. Large, crisp outside and moist inside. They give you plenty of tahini sauce, hummus and choice of the pink radish pickles or rice pilaf. The chicken kebab is not overcooked and has a small side salad. The only fault I would have is there isn't a public bathroom available. This is a small restaurant in a little strip mall on the north east corner of Foothill and Mayflower. I called in my order so it'd be rrady when I got there. As I'd never been before, I wanted to try a little bit of everything, so I ordered the King's Combo which came with a lule skewer, chicken skewer, beef skewer, rice, hummus, pita bread, salad, and two garlic spreads. I swapped out the salad for extra rice. The beef and chicken skewers we great. The lule was a bit dry. The rice was ok, but not as good as I've had at other places. The garlic spread is less tangythank Zankou's but yummy in it's own respect. My order was ready when I got there, my foid was hot, and the service was very friendly. I really wanted to try a local business out but I hate to say we will not be going back to this place. $35 for 3 tiny lamb chops. Had to throw them away. Soooooo tough and seemed like it was cooked multiple times. Really off putting Lule kebab- also really tough and try. Also a bit chewy. I only took two bites and threw the rest away $100 later - with only really a chicken breast and thighs that were edible with a little bit of hummus. One pro: the chicken was actually okay. Quick and easy ordering for super juicy, yummy rotisserie chicken. We had the chicken family meal and get got some extra side dishes like the Tabule, Garlic spread, beef kebabs, chicken lule and Baklava. The Baklava was mediocre, everything else was so goooood that o told my husband, "we found our new fave restaurant!". The garlic spread was a bit chunkier than I'm used to compared to Zankou, or the ones you buy from Wholefoods. Although it had pieces of garlic, it tasted like heaven. Even our 11 yrs old son liked it and you know how picky kids are! Our two kids ate the meal from here. Their pita bread was divine. I usually skip the pita breads from Mediterranean restaurants because they tend to be too thick and doughy. Their pita bread was fresh and thin, which is what I like. The salad was pretty basic, nothing spectacular here. The Tabule left me a bit disappointed from everything else. It was ok. I thought that the tomatoes were a bit soggy, too small and too little. It was decent but not spectacular. This spot is our new go to restaurant for healthy meals, despite some set backs because it's the best of what we have around here. As I was waiting for my food, a lady came in to order. She stood waiting to order for about 10 minutes, nobody takes her order (meanwhile the owner is going in and out caretaking his family I could only assume, bringing them drinks and sitting down chatting). Some other customer comes in and they take her order right away and the 1st lady still hasn't ordered. So she kind of puts her hands out like what? The owners like do you need help? She's like yeah, I want to order and he's like when she's done go ahead and takes his happy butt back outside for social hour. The guy finishes taking the 2nd persons order and walks away again before the 1st lady orders... another couple minute passes and he finally asks her what she wants, she orders chicken and instantly tells her there's no more chicken. It's 2pm.. so she finally leaves, I just felt so awful for her. She was nice and smiled at everyone.
