I wanted to try a new chicken place since I had tried all other surrounding chicken places in Oakland. Man this chicken is amazing. I got the tenders with tater tots and fries. The fries were decent. Tater tots were decent as well. I came for chicken so I give this place a 5 based on chicken quality. It's very tasty, soft and moist. Mixed with chipotle mayo sauce it's an amazing combo. I noticed they had fried Oreos and I said why not? 5/5. Totally recommend if you still have room for dessert.

    seating and arcade games!

i love this place!! they have a big menu with lots of great options, the staff is so nice and the food comes out so quickly.

Came here for the first time for dinner on a weeknight. I ordered the hibachi tofu, friend ordered the 3 cup basil chicken, and the fried cookie dough for dessert. Total came out to $21. What's Hot - Prices. The meals are under $10 each and the price varies depending on what protein you order, which makes sense. My tofu hibachi meal is under $8. The fried cookie dough is $3.99. Reasonable and decent prices for a full meal. - Location. In Oakland and good location/easily accessible. Very good walking distance, especially for the local scene. There are a lot of students, so be prepared that certain times may be busier than others. - Layout. It's not a huge place. There are a few tables downstairs, but there is an additional floor upstairs, as well, which is helpful. - Quality. Food was yummers! Looks like the food is made on the spot, rather than sitting under a heat lamp. I definitely appreciate that and the food tastes a little better because of that. The tofu is stir fried fried tofu, but the sauce was pretty good. The dish had stir fried bean sprouts and comes with egg and veggies. When I asked the clerk what type of veggies come with the dish, he responded that it's whatever vegetables they have for that day. So it sounds like it rotates. The veggie of the day was stir fried napa cabbage, which was yummy. The egg of the day was a steamed egg, which I really liked. I also like that this place doesn't just do fried eggs. Steamed egg is healthier and it's yummy if you drizzle some sauce on it, too. It's not the best Asian food I've had. But for the price, it's pretty good. The fried cookie dough was awesome! My friend said that alone is enough to make him come back again. Haha... The cookie dough was somewhat runny and gooey, but that made it taste that much better. It's drizzled with a little powder sugar, which gives it a nice sweet kick, but isn't overpowering. - Service. Staff there are nice and answer any questions you have. - Recyclable containers. We ordered our food to eat in. Our food was served in plastic container that are recyclable and come with lids. I like that these containers can be cleaned and are reusable. I'm not certain if they don't use styrofoam containers at all. But I do like that the containers we had are plastic reusable and recyclable containers. What's Not - Location/parking. It's in the heart of downtown in Oakland. It looks like it's catered to the local crowd. Almost everyone I saw who came by ordered food to go, as well. I don't recommend coming here with a car, unless you know you can find cheap nearby parking, you're taking the busy, or you're dropping someone off. Final Answer Would come back if I'm in the area.

Way too much rice, not enough vegetable, sorry but it is a bad tasting bento.

I came back here after having not the greatest experience with my first asian bento. I decided to come back and give it another try. I ordered the marinated beef, this time the bento was so much better! The portion of rice and sides was just right. Unlike last time, I finished the food so quickly and had a food coma. :p The sides were very average, but the marinated beef was delicious. The customer service was great, they were very friendly. Tenders take customers feedback seriously I can definitely tell from last time I came, my experience this time is much improved. I will have to come back and give it another try. They just started selling the asian bentos and I already heard their curry is phenomenal. That's what I'll try next time. I'm excited to see what they offer in the future.

    Soo good. 4 PIECE MEAL.

The four piece chicken meal was awesome. Yes the tenders are on the smaller size but they are fresh and lightly fried. The breading was on the spicy side but was really, really, really, good. The meal only came with one sauce but you can purchase more for a little extra. I got to try the fried pickles and an empanada, too. Yum. The empanada is spicy!! So be prepared for that. The pickles are good, not outstanding but still good. The meal came with a side, I picked the salad, which had lettuce, croutons, and cheese. Can't wait to go back.

Good chicken spot at an affordable price. My boyfriend eats from here everyday. The breading is good, but the chicken is not well seasoned. Luckily all chicken comes with sauce on the side.

I had quite the lunch adventure today and this was where it ended. I was going to get tacos but that didn't work out. So decided I would try for a gyro. When I showed up to said gyro place I found Tender instead. There is a menu posted in the window so I took a look and thought I would try a sandwich. There is kind of 2 menues to this place. One is the chicken side and the other is the Cuban sandwich side. It almost feels like ordering off of a secret menu but it's not. Upon entering I found a few small tables set up and an ordering counter. I asked the girl what was good. She responded with what are you in the mood for and gave a bit of a list. I said a sandwich. Her response was the Cuban or the Bay Of Pigs if you like spicy. I said I like spicy let's go with the Bay Of Pigs and got a side of fries as well. It took ten min for my food to come out. While waiting I found out they are about a month old and have no pics tips or reviews on here so of course I was going to remedy that. The girl behind the counter brought me out my food and I have to say my sandwich was much larger then I had expected. I enjoyed the sandwich. The meats were flavorful and the cheese added a much needed contrast to the spice of the meats and the sauce. I also enjoyed the fries. They were the generic store bought kind but they were fresh and crispy and not overly salted. I had also heard the girl at the counter say there was additional seating up stairs. So once I was done with my food I went up to check it out. Now I must say the stairs are a bit iffy so watch your step and be careful when you come down. That first step is larger then it looks. The upstairs space is nice. It even has a water dispenser and cups set up. Along with a table of condiments. Basically I wish I would have headed up stairs to eat but no big deal. I would love to come back and try something else. Maybe some tenders.

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

I placed an online lunch takeout order recently for a veggie burger with fries. My husband ordered the brown sugar pop tart, French onion soup, and their famous burger. He enjoyed every aspect of his meal. Our group also tried the pancakes as well as the crab benedict. Both of those dishes were so-so, and I wouldn't get them again! They have a little bakery/cafe on site where you can order pastries. They are also known for their vinegar pie, so of course, I had to try it! It was definitely a different flavor, and I am glad that I tried it. It tasted like a less sweet version of a pecan pie. The vinegar really helped to cut the sweetness. This restaurant was accommodating and the service was great. Their food was good but the company was even better. I will definitely be back!

LOVED our dinner at this place…read more We came here for dinner while visiting Pittsburgh. The first thing that struck me was the interior decor. Very industrial and moody with an open kitchen/preparation area that adds some intrigue. I do like to see the happenings of what's going on as someone with zero attention span. Service was excellent. George was fantastic. He kept a close eye on us without being overbearing. He anticipated what we might need so we didn't spend one second waiting to order anything. The menu is not endless or overwhelming which, presumably, allows them to focus on the items that are listed. I have decision panic so it was kinda nice to have less things to choose from. They asked if there were any allergies or dietary restrictions so I mentioned my vegetarianism. George went through the menu and pointed out the vegetarian options including what seems like it is vegetarian but isn't. They had TWO vegetarian entree options and fortunately the non-mushroom one was something I probably would have ordered anyway: pesto with walnuts, arugula, and a very generous amount of grated cheese. To start, I ordered the Brussels sprouts whichc I was warned had fish sauce. This was fine but nothing that blew me away. GF, on the other hand, loved this. GF ordered the wedge which was brought to our attention as vegetarian with the bacon on the side, which was her request. We ended up sharing both, a large part of that was because hers came out first and I couldn't wait but I'm so glad because the wege was FANTASTIC. The dressing? holy fuck pure ecastasy. The wedge was more like a filet shape which was much easier to eat. Who decided on the wedge shape anyway? The lettuce was so fresh and crisp and went wonderfully with that orgasmic dressing and breadcrumbs. Back to my pasta. Also delectable. Noodles were al dente. The sauce was creamy and packed that pesto umami flavor. The walnuts were a really nice contrast in texture. Everything about it absolutely fucking slapped. GF ordered the mushroom entree which came served on a bed of barley which, don't mind if I do, had a few forkfuls to "sample" for "my review". Again, so fucking good. Because it was my birthday, George provided a dessert (yuzu maybe?) that was served inside a meringue-esque igloo, creamy perfect balance of sweet and tart custard with some berry business underneath. Wonderful. I almost forgot their spectacular cocktails! Holy shit, literally they have a CORN CHIP cocktail that I could not pass up. It comes with two massive cornchips on top of a flavored foam. When you bring the glass up to sip, the cornchips are right in front of your nose and their aroma sets the stage for the drink which was STRONG. It wasn't as corn chip forward as I expected but I understand that flavor is probaly hard to create. For my second drink, I ordered the blue one which was refreshing, light, and really good. GF ordered a spritz which was gorgeous "it was good". For second round, I picked out some uranium thing that was very cucumbery, GF says, "it was good". I just read it outloud to her. "it's true!" Fantastic meal at a great place.
