I saw the review of an past employee and I just had to elaborate more to raise awareness of the terrible treatments that employees go through while working at the Pasadena Crossroads location. To start I worked at this location for 3 years and was able to be promoted quite early, just to add this is only about the Pasadena Crossroads location as each chick fil a is independently owned and operated , this owner operator being Patrick Cozzad.
I dont really know where to begin because of the amount of mistreatment that went on in this establishment, but since most of you are viewing these reviews are here for the food I will start with something that is relatable to you. This management ran by Fabiola Ortiz and Selah knowles did not follow a single COVID -19 guideline from the CDC, there would and is still to this day be employees openly showing symptoms , living at home with someone who's tested positive for COVID- 19, all because they gave hell when those sick needed time off. in most cases if you did not have coverage your job would be threatened leaving the employees to come in not feeling well including coughing, sneezing , throwing up all while on the clock and dealing with the food just so their job was not compromised. let me add the managers are they watching this go on behind their counter and choose to look over it. Not to mention there would sometimes be up to 9 employees testing positive and the management team would not alert us putting us at risk for getting sick and bringing it home to our families, and not to mention the amount of customers who were exposed.
Forget getting off work for sickness or any other personal life activity as they tell you that requesting off is not allowed for months at a time 98% of the year. this includes but not limited to getting sick, family vacations, funerals and grieving , etc. But of course when selah or Faby ask you to come in on your one day off a week or ask you to say yes to staying longer than your expected with little to no notice, we were expected to , again with no ability to even call off for the things we wanted to do.
lets talk about the plain disrespect and rudeness of the management team... Faby can walk into the restaurant and be there for a total of 2 minutes before she explodes in yelling (mind you at 15-18 year olds) of simple mundane things that she could easily communicate in a different less explosive ways. she has called employees (again a lot of them minors) stupid and useless to their faces with no remorse.
this management team is not empathetic at all to anything that isn't helping them make money. An employee had a miscarriage on the clock, and she had to fight to be able to clock out early and seek treatment, Fabiola also respond to someone asking for time off for a funeral with "how many funerals do you need to attend a year" mind you without even speaking condolences. Another girl was just about 8 months pregnant was outside taking orders in the heat and came inside lightheaded and cramping and asked to be sent home so she could go to the doctors , they told her no unless she had coverage! This same girl was robbed on her delivery order while pregnant and it took management close to an hour to even check on her well being at the scene of the robbery.
parents dont let your child work here, during virtual learning we...myself included were working 40 + hours, Faby even after we were back in person was having students working during school hours, a lot of them has still yet to graduate high school (this was not the case for me), regardless if they child was willing to work during school hours violates the labor laws and shows that they lack moral code as adults they should have draw lines and follow the law
lets make this clear chick fil a is not short on people they hire 5+ people a week. this is simply them being ignorant and selfish.
I was "fired" (mind you I was putting my two weeks in in the next week or so anyways) because I was told no for getting the day off unless I had coverage to attend a funeral ...she then told me days later that I could go, mind you the funeral was way out of state(which they knew) so I was unable to make it regardless. I came into work the day of the funeral 9-9:30 , and by two pm I was sent home for having a bad attitude by selah , which was not the case I was sad and quiet and grieving. none of the other managers had a problem with me. I texted the general manager after I was sent home and she has never responded which is immature and childish of a grown woman. and its not the first time that she has not responding to employees after being sent home , suspended, etc.
I could write a whole book on what else has gone wrong but I im sure you can only imagine , so do yourself a favor stop giving this location your money and go down the street to the Glen Burnie location. read more
