This place looks small from the outside but the drinks are top-tier . I had the grape green tea and the flavor was super refreshing. The fruit tasted natural, not artificial. Staff were quick even though there was a long line. The shop is clean and nicely decorated. I love the lighting perfect for selfies . Definitely a hidden gem! read more

Nice little bubble tea shop near downtown Chinatown. They use espresso-like machines to make their tea. I tried the Green tea (cold) with pearls and it's a refreshing and 'clean' tasting tea. Limited seating (outdoors only). Can get busy at times as well. Paid around $7 for the drink. read more

You cannot add many different toppings /options here but you can always get something decent and consistently tasty good bubble tea.

Benefits of coming here is that you don't have to wait the 2 hour lines like in LA haha. Its quite small, so more of a grab and go as very limited seating, but the workers are so chill, they play soft canto pop music, and it's quite calming to just watch the workers make tea/clean, etc. They do get a ton of delivery orders. I quite like the aesthetic of the place, boba cup size is pretty average for toronto I feel. It is on the pricier side, but you are paying for fresh non astringent tea. The boba is quite soft (compared to other places, almost mochi like) and it was a refreshing experience. I don't know if I'd wait for it, but definitely higher than your typical share tea boba chain exp. read more

Delicious bubble tea and good customer service! Every cup is brewed fresh to order so it always tastes amazing, and the system they have in place for serving customers is really efficient despite the long wait times due to its popularity. If you are going at busy times, I would be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes. They accidentally gave me the wrong type of tea in my drink and immediately offered to remake it at no cost read more

Chicha San Chen - Taro Ball Milk Tea (black tea +cream + taro balls) - Bubble Tea Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Orange flavour was a game changer. I was too comfortable with the honey oolong for the longest time, now I think orange is my new favourite. It has more of a clementine taste in their syrup. Even with 30% sugar option, this was the ideal sweetness level. Their bubbles are a perfect texture and chewiness. One size only and one topping only. They have a heater outside for the winter weather in case you'd like a few sips before leaving. read more

I was soo stoked to see Chicha San Chen in Toronto when I was visiting. My first experience was back home in Los Angeles, but be warned: it's a bit different here with mostly no customization allowed on the preset drinks. Kinda lame tbh. More in the details below. The wait was about an hour for ordering+waiting for drink prep. Pro Tip: if it's not shut off due to high volume, try to order for pick up on Fan Tuan app. That way, you can save some time. Despite the volume though, the folks working were super friendly and looked to be working as efficiently as possible. In LA, my go-to drink at CCSC is Lemon Condensed Milk (靑檸芬朵西) with added Konjac. The closest equivalent here was the Lemon Wonderland (又見檸檬塔) which is made of: High mountain pouchong tea, lemon juice, and mousse. (玉露青茶+普碑原汁+奶蓋慕思). Again, I couldn't even customize this to add konjac - even though they had it on the menu, they just didn't allow me to add it. read more

For food, the quality of the teas are noticeably better than most tea shop but I don't think it was worth the giant Lino and the price. It's pricier than most other tea shops and the service was slightly slower too. Ambiance is relaxing but there are very limited seating areas. I think it's good to try once in a while when you were to treat yourself but imo, it's a little over hyped. read more

4.5 stars. This would be my choice of high-quality bubble tea to get in the city! Although they've hit a few bumps after their grand opening, I feel that they've gotten into their groove of things and increased the manpower it takes to make things run smoothly. I went twice so far. The first experience wait time for my order was around 45 to 50 minutes, and the second time, it was about a 15-minute wait. I love their taro queen drink with less sugar. The tea is brewed similar to how espresso is made and its a nice strong flavour without the bitter taste. The drink is very smooth and you can tell quality ingredients were used and everything is weighed and measured to ensure the same quality each time. The drinks are pricy for the size so I'd get these as a treat once in awhile, although I wouldn't mind it weekly! I definitely need to try out the other flavours as I heard they're all good! read more

This location is nice, clean and smells strongly of tea. They have outdoor seating as well. Service was kind and attentive. I ordered the taro queen and the taro king, both with green tea. Overall, I found it quite normal. The green tea taste was nice. I found the taro balls a bit too hard. I paid $20 for two drinks which were about regular size. I think you're better off trying their other signatures. read more

I've been there 3 times. What I had: Taro Queen (taro milk tea + taro bubble) $8.95 (Had these twice. First time cold, second time warm.) oolong tea + cream + taro balls Taste: 4/5 Apart from the taro balls, there was also taro mash at the bottom, adding a layer of richness to the drink. The tea base I had was black tea, which had a pretty strong flavour and was a little bit bitter as I ordered less sugar. Vibe: 4.5/5 I loved how the shop was decorated. The exclusive teapresso machine was particularly impressive because it brought you closer to the delicate tea-making process. Service: 3.5/5 Like many other popular spots, it was a bit crowded. But the drinks were served at an acceptable speed (no more than 5mins). read more

Everyone and their moms are raving about this new boba spot and how it has a "Michelin rating" but for boba. I knew I had to come check it out so while visiting Toronto, we stopped by this shop located in Chinatown. The outside patio area is quite aesthetic-- there's an egg chair and seats all around. The inside also has this boba wall that makes for a cute backdrop for your drink pictures. We ordered 3 drinks off of their top recommended items: *taro queen (milk tea with taro ball and paste): so good! I'm not a huge tapioca topping fan, but the taro balls offer the same chewy consistency. It was also a good amount of sweet without tasting artificial *bubble milk tea: it's a pretty solid milk tea; it tastes authentically brewed *osmanthus oolong milk tea We ended up coming back here several times throughout our trip! read more

First sip and I could tell a lot of care was put into each of their drinks. The tea flavour was super strong and aromatic paired with the chewy sweet tapioca were absolutely the perfect combo! The wait wasn't too long compared to when they first opened. If you want to try some high quality bubble tea, this place is a must visit! read more

Don't come here expecting your typical run of the mill bubble tea. They individually brew each cup of tea to order, giving their drinks a strong but tasty tea flavour. You'll see different gradings for each of their six teas. I opted for the Bubble Milk tea (black tea + cream + tapioca) while my friend opted for the Taro Queen (green tea + cream + taro + taro balls). I really enjoyed the taste of my black tea, the sharpness of the tea was cut by the rich cream. However, my stomach was hurting a little from the richness. The tapioca pearls were a bit too soft for my liking as well. I preferred my friend's taro drink because the green tea had a strong and fragrant taste and the taro balls were cooked to perfection. While the tea was really great, I can't justify spending $10 each time on bubble tea especially when the toppings on mine were just okay. While it's worth a try, especially the green tea I won't be running back here any time soon. read more

Really liked this place. We went twice in two days. Real Taiwanese tea and very good boba made fresh every hour số if you're lucky you get a delicious cold tea or milk based drink with warm boba.Supper delicious!! read more

Once you enter the store you'll be able to smell freshly brewed tea. I got their black tea with cream and regular sugar, and it wasn't super sweet. Friendly staff but kinda pricey for bubble tea. Low key tasted like elevated orange pekoe tea. Will come back for their fruit teas next. read more

I can definitely see why they are famous for their amazing tea and quality here. Hearing that they are Michelin Guide-approved teas from Taiwan was a must-try on my list. My family got: Taro Queen: Great choice for taro lovers High Mountain Pouchong Tea: My brother would recommend this one! I can see why it's one of their popular drinks. Cassia Black Tea: The tea is strong and tastes amazing Wish I got it with grass jelly instead of pearls cause I didn't finish most of the pearls. The shop does get crowded during busy times and when it does, the patio space makes it a great waiting area and you don't have to worry about not hearing your order number, they have the speaker and number display outside as well as a very convenient and they add outdoor heaters for the chilly weather. If you love tea, I would say this is a must-try, I would come back to try their other drinks. read more

So I walked by on a Sunday afternoon and saw this massive line up... so I figured .... Why not join! It's Taiwanese bubble.... Bougie bubble tea. Line up was long ! Waited for 15 minutes for my drink. It was alright... was it worth the 7$? Meh... it was the experience that counts. Would I try it again? Probably not just because the line up was a bit long for me. Overall it was decent. The gentleman taking our order was very polite and patient with us. read more

Went with their classic milk tea and it did not disappoint with minimal ice and 0% sugar. Good tea flavour without being overpowered by a sugary taste. I do taste the difference in comparison to other chains in Toronto. They also have a book on the side that explains each of their drinks and which ones were Michelin graded which I thought was nice to read. Service was quick when we went on a weekday afternoon, got our drinks in under 10 minutes. Not sure how they operate in the winter but there's minimal seating inside, but their patio outside was nice and airy. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy your drink while catching up as even the little benches had cushions for comfort. Price isn't extremely expensive considering the economy now and comparable to other options around. There is no washroom though read more

The tea here wasn't up to our taste personally. Staff were professional and friendly, atmosphere was cute and trendy, and brewing tea techniques were pretty cool. However, I could not taste any tea at all. It was too creamy and too sweet (even for regular sweetness requested). So to us, it tasted like sweet milk. Some people like this, but if you really like the strong tea flavor, then this is not the place for you. read more

The worse bbt IVE ever had. Disclaimers: this is a MY opinion. Personally it was the worse bbt I've ever had. It tasted watered down and very lacklustre. The type is literally the place itself, and the way the measure things(as if it's science) when in reality, I feel like measuring spoons would save so much time and be less wasteful. The people and the place itself is nice. But considering we had to wait sooooo long for the employee to answer other people's pointless questions rather than just looking at the menu was pretty frustrating. I can say I tried it but I would not return or recommend water milk with tapioca. read more

Came here for the first time on New Year's Day to a 30min wait for drinks, mostly takeout orders. The staff were quick to take our order and because the store was full of other patrons, our group of 4 left to walk around the Spadina area. Our drinks were ready when we returned after 20min and the number counter at the front door was useful to see when our order was ready. Definitely a grab and go vibe in the colder months, as the patio heaters don't cover much area. Tried the cold Winter Special Cassia black tea with bubble/pearl at 30% sugar and the pearls were sweeter than average. The hot Cassia black tea had a hint of cocoa, almost like hot chocolate. Overall, a little too sweet for my preference though I can appreciate the attention to detail on how the tea is brewed. read more

Be prepared to wait if you want to come here. The workers will tell you the approximate wait time before you order so you can decide if you want to wait or not. We waited about 30 minutes for our drinks. There's only a small waiting area inside so you can either wait outside on their patio or walk around and come back. We got the Cassia black bubble milk tea with 30% sugar and it was slightly sweeter than expected. It also very much tasted like hot chocolate. We also tried the Taro Queen - taro flavour was decent but the taro balls were hard instead of a soft chewy texture. The drinks were ok but not worth the wait in my opinion. read more

Mmm this place knows how to serve a delicious cup of tea! It was super busy and there's about a 10-15 min wait, even when we came on a rainy day. The prices are a bit steep but in comparison to other bbt places, this is one of my faves. My only complaint was that the cup wasn't transparent so I couldn't see the layers of my drink haha. Will definitely try out their new Markville spot soon. read more

This place is getting a lot of attention. But it has a particular style that isn't for everyone. They serve such a clean tasting, simple, focused product. It's not going to hit you with outrageous flavour or intense sweetness like most boba places. It's all about subtleness, and cleanliness. The quality of the ingredients is insane and comes through. This is a boba place for connoisseurs. So it's a must try for anyone who likes boba. It's just not my style. read more

This tea shop smells so good inside and has a very cute patio outside where we were able to sat down with our dog and drink tea. They have good quality milk teas and fruit teas. Their flavor combinations were also creative and harmonious at the same time. read more

Ordered the Milk Tea and the Fruit Tea, I've honestly have had better so I'm not sure how they were granted all the accolades. Essence of the superior tea quality was non existent when consumed. Couple this with the smaller sized cup volume and excessive price, I'd probably would not go back. Try it once and you'll understand what I'm talking about. read more

Smells are great but the oolong tea is overprice, tastes kind of bad. It was $8 for a small drink and i could of bought a simular drink for less. The line takes a long time beacause there was a lot of people. In the other tea places you can buy a large for the same price. read more

We heard about this new taiwanese boba shop and how it got great reviews so we decided to check it out since my sister in law is also a huge boba fan! When you first walk in, the store smells amazing, with the smell of tea. The person taking our order was very kind and helpful answering all our question. However, I was honestly a little disappointed with all the great reviews my expectations were set high and it didn't taste any better than my regular boba shops I go to. We ordered one of each from the popular menu (not shown in the photos) and I didn't like any of the ones with foam, or milk, I preferred the regular brewed tea. I think the main difference is how they brew their tea, you see them measuring the amount of tea leaves and the machine they use to brew their tea making it more fresh, but other than that, the selection is limited, so if you like fun flavored boba's than you're better off going to chatime or gong cha. read more
