Four Seasons Milk Tea with Boba
    Generous Y.

Familiar with Baroness as a brand but have never visited before this. Their Chinese says "xiao hei tang" which translates literally to little black sugar (brown sugar). Price point feels a bit high for their medium drinks and is honestly a bit pricey for large as well. Extremely welcoming service. Interior is well decorated and very aesthetic. Lots of grassy walls as a photo-op backdrop and two large swings also add to the seating plus decor. They use small, crunchy ice which means ice can go up the boba straw which can either be a free, delightful topping or unwelcome guest depending on preference. Four Seasons Milk Tea w/ Boba - four seasons is a light oolong, very similar to green tea. Boba was chewy but only slightly sweet. Milk tea leans towards a strong tea with a creamy finish. Brown Sugar Oat Milk - despite the menu only showing the medium availability, they did ask if I wanted larges. Your mileage may vary. Oat milk is trendy for a reason, it's rich and creamy which pairs fantastically with boba, especially brown sugar drinks. This is the best option for those preferring creamy drinks though it's expensive.

    Peach spring special for $4.88

I was in the area and stopped by for refreshing bubble tea. I've been to Baroness before and they always have solid drinks whether you like your drink milky or fruity. I've tried some of their top 10 drinks and they are solid. However this time, I was drawn in by the Spring specials, peach with coconut/aloe jelly for $5. My partner and I are a bit sensitive to sweetness and the staff told us there is natural sweetness in the Spring Specials already so we opted for 0% sweetness. It turned out too sweet for both my partner and I. It feel like there may have been added sweetness to it. But just be warned if you're ordering the special drink that they already have a lot of sweetness to it. It tastes like a 50% sweetness level to us. Still drinkable for me, but not at all for my partner. So I'm glad we didn't add any extra sweetness to it. We went to Ikea later and diluted the drink with some water and it tasted great afterwards. However, I would hate for the person to add sweetness in this drink and be let down. Normally there isn't an issue on their other signature drinks though so it might just be this Spring Special.

3.5 STARS I was running errands with mr.Tran downtown, and he had told me about Baroness being the best bubble tea he ever had (he was out with friends and very drunk when one of his friends introduced him to it). Situated in a hidden spot, we managed to find it. I ordered the oolong roasted tea and mr. Tran got the Milo milk tea I believe. I did ask the friendly cashier if the oolong roasted milk tea tastes similar to Chatime roasted milk tea, although she said she didn't like to compare different bbt chains to Baroness, she claimed that their oolong roasted milk tea had a stronger tea taste, which won me over. First sip, no strong tea taste, very weak actually. Sugar level and ice level were good though. I did take a sip of mr.Trans drink and it was good, tasted like the Milo drink, but he said it wasn't the drink he had when he had it the first time (again, he was drunk). If I'm ever in the downtown area, it's a maybe for me.

I tried their most popular drinks which were Purple Rice, Lychee Paradise, and Taro with organic milk. My favorite of the three would be Lychee Paradise (50% sweet) which was refreshing and true to its name whereas the taro milk was a bit bland and lacked any true taro flavor. The purple rice was interesting, not sweet, but nothing to rave about. Service was good and helpful. I'm glad she mentioned that the Lychee Paradise was sweet so I opted for 50% sweetness and it was still quite sweet even after the ice melted.

They only use fresh milk here which is interesting. the brown sugar pearls are good!!! service is always nice and friendly. ambiance is casual and the space is big. it's always busy too.

I don't even know how you choose a boba place or any place to eat for that matter on Yonge street cause there is one around every corner! We passed Baroness and randomly decided to come in and give it a try! I got the Milo Milk with Boba and didn't realize it wasn't a milk tea. It was literally Milo mixed in milk, so tasted like a chocolate milk. Boba was good, chewy.. but the drink tasted exactly like Milo mix! I got exactly what I ordered, though not what I expected. I think I was just disappointed with my choice and not Baroness itself. Service was friendly and super quick! My toddler loved the drink and I didn't feel so bad giving it to him cause there was no caffeine!

Thai tea + oat milk + brown sugar boba, ube + organic whole milk

I had bookmarked this place to try the next time I was in Toronto and I walked past 3 other tea places, one I'm familiar with and love, to finally try Baroness. I can't say I'd pick it over that one other place but it is a really close second. I got the Thai tea with oat milk and brown sugar boba and I can see why it was one of the more popular drinks on the menu. The tea wasn't too sweet with maybe a tad too much milk but the freshly made boba balanced the flavor. My friend got the ube with regular milk and liked it as well. I'm glad I finally got the chance to cross baroness off my list and I definitely recommend!

Drinks came really fast and they were tasty, the boba is really soft and chewy which is a huge plus

Cool spot downtown - they have some unique drinks here. There's ample seating to sit down for hours with friends. I opted for a drink with egg yolk in it which made the drink very rich. It's a very unique drink I'll say that. Price point is standard for bubble tea around $7ish now (yikes). Will drop by if I'm in the area.

Black milk tea with tapioca and hot peach oolong milk tea with tapioca

Been wanting to try Baroness for a long time after seeing many aesthetic posts on Instagram. The service was very friendly; as it was my first time here, the tea-rista explained the menu and told us the top drinks to try. As per her recommendation, I ordered the black milk tea with tapioca, with her recommendation of 50% sugar due to the already sweetened brown sugar tapioca pearls. I also ordered a hot peach oolong milk tea with 0% sugar to try as well. When we got the drinks they looked very aesthetic and I was overall impressed! The black milk tea was very fragrant, I really enjoyed the unique flavour of oat milk with black milk tea and the brown sugar tapioca pearls, although the drink was still a tad sweet for me. The tea-rista warned me that the peach oolong milk tea was hot and although I was warned, it was still the hottest drink I've ever gotten from a bubble tea shop. So hot that I had to let it sit for ~15 minutes before I could even try sipping it. As a result, the tapioca turned very soft and lost its chewiness. Overall I would come back to try the other top drinks our tea-rista recommended as their flavours were very unique!

Mango Cheese Foam and Purple Yam
    David Y.

I'm no bubble tea connoisseur, so to me Baroness seems a bit overhyped. That said, I can see why people are bowing down and singing her praises. Even my commoner tastebud recognizes that she is of highest quality. My wife and I got the purple yam with organic milk and brown sugar pearls, and the mango cheese foam with aloe. The toppings (especially the brown sugar pearls) were absolutely regal - amazing taste, great chewy texture, good amount. As for the tea itself, it was fine. I preferred the mango to the purple yam, mainly because I could hardly taste the purple yam. Come to think of it, even the mango was a bit faint. If only their teas had a stronger or more distinct flavour, then I would be one of the Baroness's most loyal constituents. But alas, they don't. And so I will stay on the side as the Baroness waves to her (justifiably) adoring crowds.

So glad Baroness opened up a shop here in Toronto! Their only other Canadian location is in Vancouver. I have heard lots about their amazing tea base and was glad to finally try today. I got the Thai black tea with brown sugar tapioca, made with organic milk (can opt for oat milk). 0% sugar and less ice. The Thai tea was very flavourful and the tapioca was soft and chewy. I love how their ice is crushed and not in huge cubes. Special shoutout to the super awesome staff. They were very attentive, asking for details on how I would like my drink prepared, and offering suggestions too! Can't wait to go back and try other things on their menu! Jasmine tea is next on my list!

Small bubbletea shop that also serves pastries and Filipino meals…read more Their standout offering, of course, is the bubbletea. The tea is loose-leaf, so is elevated from the typical bubbletea. But it's the tapioca that really makes the drink shine with how fresh and bouncy they are. For a tea shop, this place also has really good food. Tried the scones and they were super buttery, very flavourful, and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like all great scones. We also got some Filipino meals - the lechon kawali and lumpia super crispy, the bangsilog had a good portion size for the price, and the halo-halo was refreshing. Place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a couple of small tables to sit 4. Service is friendly. Tea offerings are extensive. Worth a drop-by.

Walking in, there's a great amount of cakes, cookies, and drinks. Cookies: The matcha white chocolate cookie was freshly made. Quite soft and delicious. Reasonably sized cookie. Yema cake: It was my first time having the Yema cake so I was looking forward to try it. I got the ube flavour and a soft chiffon cake texture. It wasn't too sweet and was perfect for a nice small dessert. The staff were friendly and the service was good. It's too bad there's limited seating as it would be great to dine-in. I definitely want to come back to try out their drinks!
