We meant to dine at Andina but since it was temporarily closed, Chica opened in its place (well, just the outdoor area only anyway). We ordered 3 dishes and a drink and everything was delicioso! My ceviche tasted fresh and well flavored. There were so many components in just 1 dish and they were all cooked/prepared perfectly. I'm salivating just thinking about their exquisite citrus sauce. Yummm! Mind you I just had my wisdom teeth removed less than a week ago and shouldn't have been eating this dish but I just couldn't resist. Pain be damned! (just kidding, don't do what I did!) Even a "simple" fried rice was flavorful. My husband really enjoyed the croquettes (Papa Rellena) which he said were the best he's ever had. I sadly had to take his words for it as I was avoiding overly crunchy food at that time due to said wisdom teeth extraction *raises fist* Not only were the food very enjoyable, their service was no less than superb as well! We were seated outdoors next to their grill where the smoke was flowing towards us freely. We asked if we could be moved elsewhere and were told that we'd have to wait another 30 minutes or so as they have very limited seating that were all outdoors, which we obliged. About 10 minutes in, we were approached by a staff stating that they were making an exception to seat us indoors, in Adina's space. He said they felt bad and didn't want us to wait any longer. And so we had the entire indoor space to ourselves! Amazing service + amazing food, that's a winner for me!

We were looking for Andina but they said they remained closed and chicha is the same place also serve Peruvian. So why not try it. Great flavor. Small size dishes. Great customer service. Lomo Saltado tender steak. The fries I would say are way too big in size. So all you could see was the big size fries And a few pieces of steak. Aji de Gallina was pretty good. I didn't care for walnuts on my dish but they were small pieces but it didn't add any more flavor. The ceviche was pretty good. Fish and shrimp were fresh. And the wet corn with cheese inside was pretty good and sweet corn. But the cheese was not belted so when you cut into this humita a entire slice of cheese came out also. But overall pretty good flavor.

Love it! As a huge fan of Andina, I was so excited to have a more casual/takeout option. I really hope they keep it up post-COVID! If you're looking to dine there, expect a wait on the weekends, but fortunately there are plenty of nearby bars/restaurants you can walk to for a beverage while you wait for a table. Excited to go back and try more of the menu!

What an exceptional meal and experience! The flavors were rich, varied, and complex. We enjoyed the peruvian flavors all the way from the subtle tamale made with fresh corn, to the depth, seasonings,, and deliciousness of the lamb empanada. Also, the cocktail was top-notch and it was fun to relax and watch all the smiling faces and puppies go by while sipping it. Best of all: The service was truly fantastic. Perfect, really. We could not have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

Great Peruvian Food!…read more What's not to love about supporting a small, family-owned and operated restaurant? On the recommendation of a friend, seven of us met here for dinner tonight, and every single person raved about their meal. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, made with top sirloin, red onions, rice, potatoes, soy sauce, oyster sauce, red vinegar, and aji amarillo. The meat was unbelievably tender--you would never guess it was top sirloin. The dish was packed with bold, well-balanced flavors and was an absolute home run. This was my first time trying Peruvian food, and I can confidently say it won't be my last. I can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu. The food here is truly exceptional.

He is Peruvian and he knows so much about the food and the culture. And, importantly, he was passionate about sharing that. He wanted to explain how Peruvian cuisine differs from other Latin American cuisines. Obviously, the chef shares his passion. The dining room is nice. The menu is extensive. But parking looks like a problem until you drive a down the south side of the building and find the huge back lot. There is no children's menu and I would suggest that it's probably not the best place for kids. Vegetarian options are limited; vegetarianism just isn't a big part of Latin American culture or cuisine... or most other cuisines either. If you insist on vegetarianism, go to a restaurant whose cuisine emphasizes it rather than expecting others to somehow adapt to it. The food here is great and it's a great experience. I recommend it.

Our server was patient and made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was perfect for our little gathering and everyone kept asking who picked the restaurant because they loved the food so much. Personally, I think I ended up getting to try half the menu and it was all good, but the corn fritters, plantain empanadas, ceviche, and patatas were all next-level good. I don't know what they put in their sauces, but I wanted to bring home bottles of all of them. Splitting the check up at the end was kind of chaotic, but they were patient with us while we did the math and, if they were at all stressed out by the large number of diners, we couldn't tell. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants flavors you can't get anywhere else.

Now that I live in Portland, I enjoy heading to the bar for happy hour and trying new things. Everything has been stellar! Their burger is absolutely the biggest, best, juiciest and most creative burger I've had here yet! The bun is fresh, meat patty is thiccc, cheese is yummy and the sauces just take it over the edge. Ask for extra napkins! Their mushrooms, bread and egg sounds simple but it's mind blowing how much flavor it has and everything is cooked perfectly. Their corn and cheese fritters are like corn bread cakes with crack sauce. Their mushroom bao are bursting with flavor in fluffy fresh buns. They have a huge vegetarian menu and also cook meat very expertly. Something for everyone! Omega and Hunter run the bar with efficient and friendly service. They are masters of their craft cocktails. I love the ambiance. 80's music. Jellyfish tank. Separated dining areas keep the acoustics from being too loud and it gives it a more intimate feel. Bathrooms are clean. I hope you try this place and love it as much as I do!

Never having beef heart before, the Anticuchos intrigued us. They were great and will definitely have again. The Lomo Saltado with chicken was good but I'd try something different in the future. The story goes on. During the short wait for food, a quick browse of the market attached inspired another trip for further exploration. A tamal to start. Nice flavor, texture, and a huge portion. The anticuchos were perfectly seasoned and tender. The picky child (and the foodie tia) ate them up with a yummy stewed tomato dish on the side and a bite of fresh corn sliced from the cob. Cau cau was next. Choosey Kid loved the rice while his mom's sister enjoyed potatoes, peas, and carrots in a savory sauce with tender tripe. The poor baby was not a fan of a cow's stomach lining. It was, in fact, delicious. Dessert was packaged to go and gobbled up later that night. Although it cannot be reported on what it's like fresh, it was a great consistency hours later in the fridge. When the question arose whether the dessert was supposed to be cold but the answer was unknown, half was heated up. Both ways were a delight. Not runny, not mushy, but juuuuust right for this Aunt Goldilocks and her little nibling bear.
