Late lunch @ 4 pm on a Feb. Saturday with family of 3. Street parking available nearby. Restaurant was mostly empty, clean, with soft Latino background music. Enjoyed it. Sat in booth closest to the bar to have a good view of the tv. Gloria greeted us. She was friendly and helped us through the menu that had a number of good options. We ordered the following: $16 Wet Burrito - fresh and delicious. This was recommended by Gloria. $14 Quesadilla - my older son's fav. He inhaled it. $16 Bean and cheese burrito - can't go wrong with this. Large potion too. They do have live music on Saturday's 6:30 pm onwards - check their live music calendar or call to ask. My next trip here will be on one of those days.

This place is awesome in every way! We had the pleasure of being served by the owner Albert, a native of Peru. The menu featured traditional, Peruvian and Mexican fair as well as traditional American favorites. The owner was amazingly helpful, friendly and kind. The food was amazing. Flavorful and balanced with just the right amount of spice and a wonderful mouth feel, salmon on a bed of salad greens was amazing! Check this place out the next time you're in Northeast Portland and you won't be disappointed.

Vegan nacho with Beyond Meat (with added guacamole)

Round up the 3.5 stars. Went to Sabor last night and ordered the vegan nachos with Beyond meat. Was not thrilled as there was hardly any cheese (vegan) or other items. They put the pico on the side as I mentioned I can't do cilantro. It came with sliced avocado and I took the guac from hubby's burrito. The taste was ok but felt it was just lacking. The 3 omnivores I was with enjoyed their food (2 burritos and 1 ceviche) and we all had good margaritas. Our server was very nice. I would go back to try another vegan item.

Ribeye street tacos

In from Boise. They deserve the 5 star ratings. Very yummy street tacos an wet burrito. The jalapeño poppers were heat and the dipping sauce had a nice kick. The salsa that came with the chips had a good amount of heat.

Do you have a sister restaurant on the west side of Portland or one in Lake Oswego?

Unfortunately, we do not have a second location at this time, as we opened our doors just over a month ago

We were greeted right away by the chefs as you entered in. The place was really colorful inside, and showed a lot of culture through its decorations and artworks. It was a fun environment to be in. I ordered the Lomo Saltado, and it was really tasty. The steak was tender, and it balanced out well with the acidity from the onions and tomatoes. It was a great hearty meal. My girlfriend got the Arroz Con Mariscos, and I liked that even more! The seafood was fresh and they had a lot of variety. Almost reminded me of a paella in some ways. The parking wasn't bad, we had to park in the neighborhood behind the building, but if you're lucky there's a few spots on the street at the front. The server was friendly, but she was definitely worked though. Not sure if someone called out, or if they're understaffed in the front. It did take awhile to get our orders in. Overall, I highly recommend this as your first stop, if you've never had Peruvian food before!

As a Peruvian visiting Portland, Casa Zoraya immediately made a great first impression. The…read morerestaurant is beautifully decorated, colorful, and unmistakably Peruvian the moment you walk through the door. The atmosphere feels authentic, the space is immaculate, and the attention to cleanliness was noticeable. Easily 5 stars for the ambiance and overall presentation. For food, I ordered the Lomo Saltado Criollo. It wasn't your traditional lomo saltado, and I'm assuming adding the word "criollo" and changing the presentation is what justifies the nearly $30 price tag. That said, flavor-wise it was excellent. The seasoning was on point, the ingredients were well executed, and the presentation was beautiful. No complaints about the quality of the food itself. Unfortunately, the service was a different story. Upon arrival, I stood waiting for approximately 7-10 minutes before anyone assisted me. A kitchen employee repeatedly told me, "She's coming," so I assumed the server would be right over. During that time, other guests arrived after me and were also waiting. When the server finally came out, she acknowledged me by saying she'd be right with me, then proceeded to assist the guests who arrived after I did. They were only ordering drinks, but it was frustrating that she didn't take a moment to determine who had been waiting first. Once seated, service remained inconsistent. Another table that had arrived before me was still waiting to place their order, and since I was dining alone and trying to catch a flight out of PDX, I was concerned I'd be overlooked. Thankfully, the food came out quickly. However, throughout the rest of the meal, not once did my server check in to see if I needed anything. I had to flag down another employee for aji and later for my check. Coming from California, where I'm used to paying California prices, a quality lomo saltado typically runs between $22-$27 and is often accompanied by attentive service. I don't mind paying $30 for a plate when the food delivers, and this one certainly did. But for that price point, the service should match the quality coming out of the kitchen. Overall: excellent food, beautiful restaurant, disappointing service. If Casa Zoraya focused on improving attentiveness and guest experience, this would easily be a 5-star restaurant.

Menu has a lot of Delicious Peruvian options including some diverse Pisco Sour Peruvian drinks. We were seated immediately and our order was taken promptly when we were ready to order. For drinks we had the Maracuya Juice and the Chicha Pisco Sour. It was very smooth. For food we ordered Chaufa Rice with Seafood, Pescado Saltado and Ceviche Mixto. Each dish was pretty big, even to share and take home. Flavor was exactly like Peruvian food should taste (my mom is Peruvian and I have been in Peru a few times). Definitely one of the best Peruvian restaurants in Portland/Beaverton area.

Sharing a large parking lot in a strip mall, the restaurant had simple decor apart from the wall art and the service was friendly and warm. Starting with a Corona served with ice-frosted mugs, warm bread with butter was served as a complimentary appetizer. The mixed seafood Cerviche was just bursting with flavor in its vinegary goodness, packed with fresh seafood. I had the deep-fried ribeye with pesto spaghetti. Portion was huge! Meat was thin and medium rare (perfect), and i could not finish the spaghetti which was tasty enough to be a dish on its own. We finished with a flan and tres leches (forgot the pics). Talk about going out with flair!

TL/DR: The food was tasty and the portions were good, but the prices are an issue. I went looking for a place to find the lovely Peruvian delicacies we enjoyed at our favorite spots in Northern California and Salt and Pepper were closest to my house and you gotta start somewhere. The-Woman-who-lets-me-live-with-her (thanks Mike) was out of town on a family matter so I just headed in for some lunch. Heading in was actually more problematic than it ought to be. The restaurant is upstairs at a local tienda, the signage is not great, and apparently neither is business, as there was nobody in the store area. The food counter was closed (in the tienda) and the shelves were a little sparse. I wandered up the stairs and found the restaurant. Nobody is coming here for the decor. It was brown Formica tables and vinyl upholstered chairs, but I didn't come to eat the furniture. I went to the counter and peered into the kitchen before I saw my first person in the building. Honestly, it was a little creepy. She was friendly enough and we chatted a bit and I asked about the specials. She pointed me toward the Pozole equivalent, Patasca. Rich broth, tender chunks of meat (still on the bone in some cases, that's a plus for me), hominy and cubes of tripe. It's the same essence as a Mexican Pozole, but without the developed chiles that give you the red coloring. I also ordered the Passion Fruit agua fresca equivalent, Maracuya, and it was also wonderful. So, in short, good food, but 27 bucks for a bowl of soup? In a truck-stop looking environment?
