Had this restaurant on my list for a while and I was in the area so I thought why not! Normally I don't go to very many vegan places, mostly because they're either expensive or not tasty (or both). This one was just expensive lol Food: I got the california bae-rito which is a regular california burrito with fries, al pastor, and guacamole. Pure yum! The al pastor tasted a little like BBQ sauce but I wasn't mad at it. Wish it had a little more sauce though. Service: Service was great. Food came out quickly and there was no line so I didn't have to wait any longer than I had to. T'was a good experience! Very good Vegan restaurant, the place is very clean, and the food is amazing. This isn't just for vegans, it's for anyone that enjoys good mex & american food. The only flaw (for me only) seems to be the beans and the spices they use. I dislike the herb they use, wish the beans were cooked with salt only and no other herbs. But that's my taste buds not others. Don't forget the sweets! The frosted sugar cookie is like I just died & went to heaven! I mean it's outstanding! The cupcakes are yummy too. If you are plant base or not this is a great place. They have soy & gluten free menu items. Service is good, good music, nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms. Also great place to take pix with friends cool murals. Free water. They advertise on IG special food menus that you won't find on their regular menu. Like Biria and french toast. A must try. Seating is a bit limited unfortunately when they get really busy so I recommend sitting out back (which is a little hard to get to) it's so satisfying to have vegan Mexican food that has actual flavor and keeps you full! The tacos were tasty and I loved their take on asada and pastor but what really sold me was the burrito! Just go for that if you want the best thing in the menu! You can't miss out in the horchata! I've been coming here for quite sometime now, in the beginning, we came several times while in the area but they were closed. But as we found out they were completely opened, we tried their food. We have ordered the Sopes, El Classic Burrito, Nachos, Signature Fries, Wet Burrito, & Street Tacos, never have I experienced anything negative with their service or food. It's always a pleasure to visit and enjoy a meal. The quality of their food is great, it is consistent and I haven't experienced any change in the taste! Always the same great taste in every bite. We finally made it to Chicana Vegana because it was a vegan spot we'd been wanting to try when we come down to visit my aunt, and boy, are we glad we did! Joceyln, our server, was the epitome of warmth and kindness. Her passion for the restaurant was evident, and it showed in her attention to detail and dedication to ensuring we had an exceptional experience. She walked us through the menu with enthusiasm, highlighting favorites and making recommendations. My son opted for the Cali Dreamin' Burger, Joceyln's personal suggestion, with an Impossible patty, while I went for the Wild West Burger, also with an Impossible patty. We both enjoyed the animaless fries, which my son - an ex-vegetarian and meat-eater for the past 4 years - declared were better than In-N-Out. The burgers were equally impressive and delicious. Came here on a saturday night before their rush. Lots of vegan options and I liked being able to order on a screen and make accommodations. I ordered the al pastor calirito and it was okay. It tasted more like chorizo, I was curious to try vegan Al pastor hoping there was some pineapple taste. As with many vegan restaurants prices are higher than regular Mexican restaurants. Chicana Vegana is a magical spot in person and via food truck. I've been lucky enough to enjoy them quite a bit over the years especially via Vegan Exchange events since 2019. The loaded nachos, specialty fries, burgers, bowls, quesabirria, burritos and melts are out of this world and super photo worthy. Asada fries all day!! Haven't tried a few things including those wet wet burritos, but it's on the must list, might have to make a few trips to the OC. Love supporting this women owned & Latinx/Latina/Latin-owned business all year long, but especially for latinx heritage month! They have some solid gluten-free options and are always adding amazing things to their menus. Don't forget to enjoy their postres (desserts), aguas/refrescos (refreshments) y tacos. The only negative thing I could say about this place is that sometimes they don't have the tres leches cake. :( I love burritos and my girlfriend loves burgers and this place has the best of both. I always find myself covetting what my girlfriend got, even though everything I have gotten there has been bomb! I particularly love the wet burrito, the tres leches cake (duh) and the horchata. The burgers are top notch as well. If you are in the LA area and looking for amazing vegan places, this one is definitely worth the drive. They also have a little hidden area in the back that can be really nice and seems to be a well kept secret (sorry). I hate to say this, but it seems like many vegan joints are amazing from the start and slowly start to decline as the time goes by. This would be the perfect example. I used to love this place and would come here very often. I hadn't been here in a couple years and I can easily say I will never come back. I ordered the Mexican Bulgogi fries that were supposed to come with sauce and they came with absolutely no sauce ... it was just dried french fries with a little bit of vegan meat for $15.. I ate some of the meat and had to throw it away. Let's get to the quesadilla .. The tortilla was really dry and hard to swallow.. if you live by a sugar taco or vegatinos, do yourself a favor and go there you'll get a bigger portion that actually tastes better comes, comes with chipotle sauce, and is the same price. Even the agua fresca de jicama was bad. I make it at home and I know it can taste good. It was extremely sour and I also had to throw this away.. Lastly, I purchased the tres leches it tasted exactly like arroz con leche but I have also had way better ones.. it was dry in the middle. the sugar cookie was also really dry and hard to swallow.. What got me is how could they forget to put the sauce and just gave me $15 french fries with a sprinkle of meat.. ordered pick up I didn't look at the fries until I got home. not to mention it seemed like air conditioning was out and it was extremely hot in there. Please be mindful. I also had my boyfriend and Mom try this stuff and they both agreed it was not good. We couldn't even salvage the french fries as they were extremely dry. Wow, the food was amazing! The service upon entry was great. I had my food delivered to The Muck for a business meeting, and all three of us had a delicious meal. Parking is located right behind the actual front entry as they are located off a busy street. I would recommend this place as being super healthy. Especially if you want to try veagan food. I've had my fair share of vegan Mexican food, and I gotta say this was some of the best! The flavors were 10/10. Portions were solid. And the restaurant was so cute! We had a group of 4 so seating was a little hard because it is pretty small in there, but we managed. They had some interesting options compared to the other vegan Mexican places I've been to. They have a little more than the standard tacos, nachos, and burritos which was cool. I got the wet burrito with asada and wow! So good!! I can't remember the last time I had a wet burrito, and this definitely hit the spot. The only thing I'd say is I've definitely had better vegan asada, but this wasn't bad by any means. Blown away by their food today. I've tried a lot of vegan restaurants in socal and this has to be one of the best I've ever had. Flavors are top notch, and the char on the vegan meat just takes it to the next level. We tried the street tacos with Al pastor and the wet burrito with asada, and both favored the Al pastor for the slight spice and flavor. This is my favorite vegan restaurant, hands down. Their burgers are the best and better than a lot of places' real meat burgers. I get the Hotty or Wild West. So flavorful, you can't tell they're plant based. The only downside is that this place is kind of small so you either have to get there early if you want to eat inside or get takeout to go. But this place has spoiled me into thinking other vegan restaurants would be just as good and taste just as flavorful, but that hasn't been the case. I still haven't found a place that makes vegan fast food as good as Chicana Vegana. My personal favorite (although this time is a bit more salty than normal) is the Mushroom Melt with spicy dipping sauce. read more

Main entrees include burgers, burritos, tacos, melt sandwiches and even a kid's menu! My friend ordered an Asada and Carnitas taco with guac and a side of Rice. I ordered an El Burrito Mojado (red sauce) and a side of chips, guac and salsa. My choice proteins, Asada and Carnitas. It had good chunks of meat, with a grilled flavor. Combined with the toppings, was moist and very filling. The sala looked like chipotle sauce, was pretty spicy. Truthfully, wouldn't recommend anyone to come here I spent 150$ on food I showed up and they said "the app" the process payments through "glitches out from time to time",stay far away from here unless you are okay with them taking your money, not doing anything to compensate about the issue and potentially having to wait 5-7 days to get your money back, you would think having a storefront you would have a system in place to properly process payments but every so often you run across a poorly ran business that likes to cut corners and pray that people don't check their accounts days later for their refunds, bottom line it's inconvenient dealing with this business, poor staff, below average food, if you are left with the choice to have to starve or come here Choose starving you'll be happier with that out come 10 out of 10 times. read more

Heck yes!!! I had the western burger with the impossible patty and it was amazing!! It tasted better than a beef burger. The fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy, crunchy, and not oily. I also ordered a Jicama drink, and that tasted really good too. My friend ordered the pastor street tacos and he said it was really good. Very friendly staff. She explained everything really well. {EDIT: In response to the owner's comment. This is more than just a "SLIGHT CHAR" and "BURNT" to peoples liking. Look at the photos circled in RED. They were not "slightly burnt" they were completely BLACK and INEDIBLE. Those edges were just a tip of the iceberg. Everything else underneath covered by all that stuff hides it from the customers' viewpoint. We've eaten here many times before throughout the years and it was never like this. I don't know what you think your customers like but it's carcinogen that can cause cancer. Making an excuse to use your customers saying they like this stuff is not right. I don't think your customers will eat this. How can the cook even think of serving this to customers and letting it fly out the window like that. Would they eat it? I bet the people that work here aren't even into these types of food and doesn't care because they don't eat it. But other people do care. The nonchalant response from the owner speaks volumes and reflects the attitude of their own employees. Owner didn't even own up to their mistakes just like the employees. The place literally just opened 6/23/24 and we were the first ones to order. How can they mess that up. It was a simple al pastor fries. Only one order--messed up not once, twice, but three times. First, the al pastor was black and burned. I added photos to show. So we kindly asked them to replace it. When they came with the new batch, the order was wrong. They gave us nachos instead of fries. So we again, returned it to be redone correctly--each time we had to keep getting back in line standing there with the order in our hands. Again, they replaced it, but the third time it got less and worse. Each time the order came back, it was not only wrong and burned, but the quality and amount kept getting less and less. The food was still burnt and the presentation got weaker--which shows inconsistency. It's like they gave up on it. The amount got less and there was barely any meat by the time the third attempt was made. It lacked everything by the end of everything. Less meat, just a bunch of soggy fries at the bottom, and lacked all the stuff on top of it. I think since they kept screwing up the order, they started to skimp out on ingredients toward the end. When it was brought up to the cashier about the meat being burned, her response was "that's how our asada meat comes, the seasoning is like that, I THINK" which means she wasn't sure. We cook plant-based and mock soy meats all the time and it doesn't get burnt like that. I felt it was just an excuse instead of owning up to it. Worse of all they were unapologetic and was nonchalant about the whole thing. For those who eat here, please note that consistently eating their product this way can eventually cause health issues. We sure wouldn't want to be eating this type of food. In the long run would not recommend this place. Service was mediocre and could be better. Show more empathy and be more aware. They also charge $1.00 for a few limes. They messed up the order so many times that they ended up just giving it. This place used to be good and the amount used to be plenty, but today's experience was not the business. For al pastor fries to cost that much, they just loaded nothing but fries and less meat having burning them so many times and messing up the order, they were trying to save money by giving us less.
