First I'd like to point out this has been my favorite pizza in ABQ. I tried to call in an order, the moronic AI garbage they have on the phone puts them in the same category as Weinerschnitzel and I'll never order again. I had to hang up due to having 2 people talking to me at the same time and I couldn't get my order in over the phone. I have over 20 years as a GM in the pizza industry and that is literally the worst choice to make for your business. The pizza itself was subpar. I ordered a large Chicago deep dish. Between the AI and having to order at the window I ordered Xtra cheese 4 times and never got it. Even when the guy repeated my order back to me TWICE he still couldn't comprehend the order correctly. Sunday. March 16, 2025. Dinner. My wife and I ate here with my mother for dinner. Dining room was empty when we first arrived but filled up quickly. We could see they do a robust drive through and pick up business. The location we visited is on Eubank, south of Montgomery. They also have a location off of Gibson. This is a veteran owned business, which I like. they have a permanently reserved table for the POW-MIA soldiers. They have a poster (see attached photo) that says that their life savings was stolen by a pizza franchise and then they started Chicago Pizza Kitchen. We ordered a large, Chicago style, Classic specialty pizza. This came with a pan, deep dish crust, mushrooms, marinara, cheese, fennel sausage, green bell peppers and onions. The reason it's called a Chicago pizza is because the vegetables and meat are on the bottom, then the cheese, and finally the marinara sauce. This pizza came to $22. Both the man and the lady at the counter were a bit gruff, but the pizza came out in about fifteen minutes. I must say, the fennel sausage tasted extraordinary, the crust was thick and crispy and the marinara didn't taste sweet. I hate sweet marinara. Overall, a very good pie and the layers with the cheese in the middle and marinara on top really worked out well. No soggy crust. Service could have been nicer, but I'm not complaining cause the pizza was damn good. They have lots of customers too. They are open til 8:30 pm, 7 days a week. The sign on the front door says the dining room closes at 7:30 pm, but I will tell you a secret. It was still open when we left at 7:30 pm. read more

This was the first time I tried this place and I wasn't impressed at all. The $18 specialty pizza was tiny, I ordered a mini salad that was barely any wilted lettuce and an order of wings that seems like they had been kept hot for many hours. I won't order here again. read more

I placed an order on November 27th an hour and 15 minutes before closing. I pull up at the time of closing (8:30 pm) because that was an option online. Myself and one other person arrive. The worker already turned the lights off in the restaurant and tried to ignore us so I stayed there parked. She finally opens the window and says she didn't see our order until 8:30 pm and wouldn't be fulfilling the orders placed and would refund us. I called the store on the 29th to see if I would be receiving a refund as I hadn't seen anything yet and it truly didn't feel like the order had been refunded. So when I called there was an automated person "it sounds like" but yet I could hear the staff laughing in the background (as I'm trying to talk to someone.) It is now December 5th and I never received a refund so I will be disputing the charge. Regardless of them stealing my money and not giving me my food. What was the employee doing for an hour and 15 minutes to which she wasn't paying attention and couldn't fulfill anyone's orders? Really disappointing seeing as we travelled from Gibson (which they had to close down their Chicago Pizza Kitchen there) and went to Eubank and Montgomery just for this to happen. I have ordered and enjoyed pizzas from this business many times before. Today I went in with my son to eat in their dining room the first time. We ordered a pizza and breadsticks. The woman who took our order was there by herself. A person came in just after us and ordered food as well. The person behind us must've been a regular as he and the employee proceeded to chat and talk for 20 minutes as he was ordering. In the mean time our order was just sitting there as she was the only one there. I would not recommend eating in the dining room as the person after us got their food before we did. We were there for 45 minutes before getting our pizza because she was focused on her regular customer. Stick to drive through or delivery. The food is awesome but the service is not so much. Ordered a pizza for delivery an hour and 15 minutes before closing time they took the order said they would deliver. The restaurant called us back after they closed and said they can no longer deliver and said they would wait for us to come pick it up. We went to get the pizza and when we brought it home, realized that it had been sitting for a while and the cheese on the pizza wasn't even melted all the way I'm pretty sure it was the worst pizza I have ever tasted, I spit it out and didn't eat the pizza. Paid for and then waited over 15 minutes to get the salad and then after waiting another 20 plus minutes,we got a plate with a very small 7 inch pizza on it . only one plate offered that meant we had to lean over in case anything dropped onto the one plate for 2 peopl. Decided to dine in! The atmosphere was calm and music great. Our food was tasty. Opted for a chicken Alfredo pasta, spaghetti and meatballs pasta and kids cheese pizza. Very flavorful and just the right amount of sauce on every plate. The staff is great, very friendly and attentive. It's refreshing to enter a business that has a patriotic feel. The first thing you'll see is the missing man table beneath a US Flag. Then there are various pics of service members. So it was an order at the counter, grab a seat and wait for your order. So it was the Italiano (sausage, artichoke, olives & ham) & stuffed crust. Pizza came to us nice and hot. Light sauce & plenty of crust on the ends. The marinara & some ranch dressing to dip our crust into was in order. A really great tasting pizza with lots of ingredients and just enough to eat. So I'm updating my review of the Chicago Pizza kitchen based on my second purchase which was a deep dish or what they call a true Pizza. My first impression upon opening the box was at the pizza was absolutely tiny and considering that I paid $14.02 for it including tax I felt robbed. My hand is pretty small and the pizza is not even as large as the circumference of my hand. It literally had four small wedges. But all in all that was probably a good thing because this was the second worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life. The first one was a Pizza Hut pizza in Milwaukee Wisconsin on a night when summerfest was rained out by torrential rains and a lightning storm. Ended up at the Pizza Hut with family members while we were staying at a hotel asked for extra everything and the pizza was so heavy and ridiculous that we laughed about it and still tell stories about it. But at least in that case I didn't feel ripped off. So you know how you can buy a woman's purse and it can either be a designer purse or a facsimile of that designer's purse? The same is true of Chicago Pizza kitchens pizzas; they are knockoffs that look like Chicago Pizza but the initial look is all you get the rest is totally fake false and a fallacy in every way. With that said it is still a really clean restaurant the staff is really nice and I hope for this business that they can learn how to make a pizza with good dough and crust. I'm still going to come back and try their lasagna and their Italian beef sandwiches and then we'll see what my final rating is. read more

The Chicago Style a deep dish is Excellent! I usually buy the large True Chicago deep dish so I can freeze some for a few other days. I always ask for extra sauce with the crushed tomatoes because after it freezes the sauce soaks in a little. When they make it with Extra extra sauce it's perfect for another day! I'm from the Chicago land area and this is the closest I can find here in Albuquerque, NM. (In Chicago at Duo Pizza Restaurant you actually need a fork and knife it's so deep.) The restaurant has signs saying they are short staffed, but they did just fine providing for us in the mid-afternoon. We ordered a "true chicago" pizza and the sauce was very flavorful. Next time, I would ask for extra sauce. The cheesy breadsticks were good quality but didn't stand out for me. I really liked the design of the pans they served our breadsticks and pizza in. They are textured so any liquids that drip from the pizza don't soak the crust. The crust was very good and not greasy. Their seating was mostly booths which comfortably accommodate 4 people per booth. There were a couple of similarly small tables from which I borrowed a chair to seat our family of 5. This place is completely across town from where we live along the Bosque but well worth the trip! We ordered the traditional Chicago Style with pepperoni. Went through the dirve up for pick up and it was ready to go. Great customer service and just a real friendly vibe. Got the pizza home and we were ready to eat. Two slices later, I was full! This pizza has an amazing crust and the sauce is like nothing i have tasted on our local pizzas. Cheesy enough but not overkill and plenty of pepperoni's with every bite. I was born and raised in Chicago. After traveling around the country for school and work, I eventually landed in ABQ. Missing my roots while craving pizza, I found Chicago Pizza Kitchen on Yelp and was excited to give them a go. This is my honest review. The deep dish style pizza is incredible! In my opinion, It is more the Lou Malnati pizza style than the Giordano's pizza style--which for me is a great thing! Nice crispy and flaky crust, flavorful cheese, and tasty sauce but not too much of it! I'm beyond satisfied! The price and portion was right, too! I ordered a medium which, in my home, will feed two adults for two meals! Thank you, Chicago Pizza Kitchen, for making ABQ feel like home! Take it from this professor, A+ all around. No revisions required. Oh, one last thing, I ordered pick up and the online ordering system was easy to navigate and the pick up drive thru window was a pleasant surprise.
