This is one of our favorite pizza places, and again found myself wondering why I have not reviewed them before. And as I keep correcting my mistakes, here is my review for Pizza Parlor. The place is quite spacious and ready to hold a good crowd especially for those evenings with live music. The patio is nice for cool days. If you like sports, there's enough screens to keep you cheering for your favorite team. The servers are usually friendly and quite busy, trying to keep up on busy days. At times they can take a long time to take orders, but no place is perfect. Either way, they always have a smile and welcoming vibes. They have a broad selection of local draft beer and a few ciders as well as some pre-made cocktails. The beer and cider are a hit or miss, as sometimes they can come out flat. The pizza and calzones is usually excellent and big. One slice would be enough, but a big party can enjoy a large pie and everyone would be satisfied. This time I got the mammal with hot honey and my hubs got the honey roni with green chile. To start we got a small order of knots. The knots this time were huge but a bit bland in flavor. The additions we requested, made each slice even better! The mammal is a meat lovers dream with sausage, pepperoni , ham, and little pieces of bacon. The hot honey made everything pop! The honey roni has pepperoni, creamy ricotta, and hot honey. The green chile gave it an extra kick. Needless to say that we will keep coming for our comfort big pizza slices. Slice Parlor never disappoints. The service is always fantastic and the food is always great. The place is clean and staff is quick and friendly. I had a great amber beer that was on special that day and larger slice of pizza was so good! I'm not generally up in this area so I was happy I had a chance to have it. I remember sliced parlor as being one of my favorite New York style pizzas in Albuquerque! I do enjoy that every day of the week has a daily drink deal. This can vary from different beers on tap being five dollars for the day or one dollar off for any pint... They also have happy hour 2 to 5 I believe. The service was relatively quick. Everything seemed clean also. Then there were some games in the corner that you could play. For the pizza, I did like it, but thr crust was a little bit too fluffy for my liking when I think of NY style. That being said, my sister and husband loves their pizza! The ranch is really good, but I do think it's odd that they charge per container. I would assume that each pizza gets at least one free ranch. Their green chili on their Zia pizza was not very spicy and lacked flavor in my opinion. I really liked the hot honey one and the BLT. They're white pizza was really good because he could really taste the garlic. I don't think there is any sauce in it if they do have sauce, it is very little. We also ordered all of our pizzas extra crispy. Which makes the crust obviously more well done. I do think this adds a lot to the pizza. Because there were some slices that we got that wasn't as crispy as the others, and I think my opinion of the slice was affected by that! Overall, if nothing else, you should order the hot honey (or BLT) slice extra crispy with ranch . read more

We ordered two slices of pizza both of them look like they were pre-cooked already, and then run through some sort of heating system, although the cheese wasn't melted on top but the crust was crispy. That's why I say it must've been pre-cooked, but not heated properly. The service was just OK. The waitress forgot twice the ranch, but she did adjust the price for her mistake on the size pizza. What can I say.... I'm addicted to Slice Parlor! I've been coming here consistently for years, back to the original location on Central. The crust is thin and crispy, never drenched in oil. I love the size of the slices, it's perfect single size to satiate even the hungriest appetite! This place is usually busy, no surprise! The ambiance is laid back, "pizza and beer" vibes, which always hits the spot. They also have vibrant, fresh salad options, their homemade dressings are delicious! First time ever visiting this joint. This place is New York style pizza type place they have it indoor season to outdoor seating and roll up doors to get the air flowing through the place if need be. Their food is delicious. We got the meat lovers pizza the pizza I think it's called came out perfectly cooked. Even the leftovers were delicious. We got the 24 inch which fed three of us Then in there and leftovers. The service is good. The waitress was on spot. Make sure we had everything major glasses were full, always checking on us. The ambience in the place was good low chatter and low music throughout the place where you could still talk and have a good conversation without half the talk up over music or the loud people. During a visit to the marble taproom in the Heights, we decided to order a pizza from slice parlor while we enjoyed our drinks. The only downside was I believe because of the time of day and they were slow, the pizza was probably actually ready before the online order said it was. So it was already starting to get a little cold when we started to eat it. But other than that the pizza was huge even the smallest size is quite large. I actually ordered an 18 inch New York style with pineapple, and it was more than plenty for two people. The slices are very thin, so it makes up for the larger size. If you want to dine in, there are different beers and siders on tap and in the warmer months, the patio is very enjoyable. It is definitely a convenient option if you're enjoying a beer at marble next door. read more

We really enjoyed this place. We didn't realize it was a full restaurant with a bar, TVs and a good amount of seating. The pizza was excellent! We had a supreme with green chili and the grandkids had a margarita pizza. The salads were good also. Great toppings and the crust was delicious. Our server Katinia took great care of us! There is a good selection of beer, wine and cocktails. If you're looking for a good pizza place, I highly recommend trying this place. read more

I love Slice Parlor, I think they have the best crust around, I love that they make gigantic pizzas as most pizza places will not do this! I love making my own pizza with Pepperoni, garlic cloves, and Bacon, But you can really customize them however you like! The beer is also almost always good, and they have a pretty good guide on the bitterness and alcohol content of the different beers on tap! Great Ambiance, and great customer service! read more

I used to go to Slice Parlor 4 times a month. I took a break for a few months and it is not the same place. The dough recipe changed. It is not as soft. It was hard to chew. I ordered spinach on top it was a carpet of spinach. The slice was dry and not enjoyable. Maybe it is an off night.. we all have them. I will try it one more time. read more

When we arrived, no one greeted us. The restaurant was quiet, with only about three tables occupied, so we weren't sure if we should wait to be seated or just choose a spot. After a short wait with no direction, we decided to seat ourselves. As we sat down, a server noticed us, appeared annoyed, and turned around to go behind the bar without saying a word. There were daily specials that ended at 5 PM, and by 4:55 PM, we had been completely ignored for over 10 minutes. Another great meal at Slice Parlor, one or my favorite pizza places in Albuquerque. I met one of my girlfriends there for a post Christmas present exchange, As usual the food did not disappoint. I tried the calzone for the first time. I had the spinach and basil calzone and so did my friend. The dough is made from scratch, and the calzone had the finest of ingredients filled with whole milk mozzarella, ricotta cheese, spinach, and fresh basil. The sauce has flavors of premium tomatoes and freshly chopped herbs. Since we both ordered the calzone they came on one tray together. I always like to get a side salad which consists of mixed greens with tomatoes and black olives. The salad is always fresh and the blue cheese dressing is delicious! Our server Emily was great! Very friendly and attentive. It has a nice atmosphere with a large patio outside which is great in the warmer weather. I definitely recommend locally owned Slice Parlor for authentic NY style pizza and calzones. read more

I have never left a bad review so bare with me. I absolutely loved Slice Parlor in the past. It has been a go to for good food and a nice patio beer. We got there at about 6:45pm and it was fairly slow service to get our menu and drinks ordered. After we got our first rounds of drinks is where it got so much worse. We put our food order in at about 7:10pm or so. We did not receive our food until 8:40pm, and we were missing an order of chili cheese fries. The server mentioned it was her first day and the kitchen was super backed up with to go orders, but I find that a little difficult to believe it was an hour and 30 minutes for two slices of pizza, a salad, and chili cheese fries. Not to mention people that got there much after us got their food in about 20 minutes or so. Overall, I was super disappointed and felt like the waitress forgot to put in our food order and never tried to make it right. The prices are cooked-to-order, so they come out piping hot. The slices are quite large. There are a variety of beers, wines, and ciders on tap. Before tip, the total for four pieces and two Sprites (refillable) was $24.52. Buying by the pie is less expensive than by the slice, but the slice option gives guests the ability to get exactly what they want. Overall, a fine casual eatery. Food is consistently good. Ambiance is OK. Service is inconsistent. Wait staff don't always acknowledge customers waiting for takeout, seem indifferent at times. At other times they are quite caring and helpful. It seems to be improving over the past several months and that is nice to see and feel. read more

I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza for my son. I didn't eat any so I can't review the taste but we were very disappointed in the size of the slices. What you see in the picture are small slices that fit in their small box. I would say for 9.57 including tax) it was a little steep. Add another slice, maybe worth it. I came the other night, meeting friends at Marble, but stopping in Slice Parlor for a treat. I got a cannoli (which only comes in the one flavor) and an old fashioned New York vanilla cream seltzer soda (non-alcoholic). Both were tasty and seltzer smooth. The cannolis are bigger than other Italian locations, as well as the big slices (I'm almost regretting not getting one like the rest of the group). Unfortunately, what I paid according to the receipt and what I checked my bank account were two entirely different things (with me actually being charged twice as much as what I owed). I was at Slice Parlor last night with multiple co-workers from the office. Mitch the manager and staff were so attentive to our party, despite being crowded in the restaurant (Balloon Fiesta crowd). We witnessed the most hill billy, histrionic woman with her otherwise very chill crowd cause a scene with her back and forth decisions, wreaking havoc on the kitchen staff. She went on to berate the waitstaff and management in an addled tirade that disturbed the expected the homely feel of our neighborhood pizzeria. Tourists... The pizza here is good but the sauce is not very flavorful. The dough, cheese, and toppings are good. The two stars is a reflection of a number of things. 1. Not kid friendly. They have high chairs but no booster seats. I was never offered a high chair for my baby or a booster seat. When I went to change my baby the bathrooms are labeled ambiguously both with the same labels, and there was no changing table in the front bathroom. Someone was in the back bathroom and I asked the waitstaff if there was a changing table in the restaurant and they told me no. I had to change my baby at the booth. The manager later told me the changing table was in the back bathroom, but with how they were labeled how was I to know ?? 2. The bathrooms are GROSS. I checked them both out and they need a good scrubbing. When was the last time they were cleaned???? Look at the sides of the toilet ! And you can't really see it well in the picture but there's dirt and grime on the sinks too. 3. When it was time to leave the waitstaff brought us this tiny box we could only fit out pizza in if we stacked it 3 rows high. I had trouble getting the box closed. Just like our beloved Marble next door, I miss the heck out of these guys and gals. We ventured out last week on a weekday to take a break from our "new normal" routine and eat out *at* a restaurant for the first time since March. It just sounds crazy to me to say that we've been doing takeout for that long but here we are. Overall, these folks were doing a stellar job. They moved the takeout pickup spot from way in the back where it previously was to a window near the front door so you don't have to go inside at all. Kudos to them. They have also opened up expanded patio seating to the east. Everyone was being diligent and respectful of the rules, the tables looked to be more than 6 feet apart and there was plenty of space between everyone. It was the same ol' Slice we know and love with digital menus and everything now. Keep up the great work and so glad our first venture out in a long time was a great experience. read more

I love the pizza crust and the beer selection. I can't figure out why the pizza itself has very little cheese and raw toppings. I've eaten this pizza several times but it is always this way. Yuck. I've tried to eat here so many times over the years, as I often find myself hungry next door at Marble. On the best day, the pizza is "meh". On the worse days, I've gotten a pizza that stank and tasted of chemicals, meat hidden in the sauce of my vegetarian pizza, rotted and slimy salads, and of course the charcoal crust of burned pies. Came here with a friend on Easter around 2:30PM, completely empty. Sat outside in the patio, food and drink menus were in the holder on the table. Not too many pizzas to choose from (this is usually a good sign, and it's also easier to choose), was surprised to see green chili on pizza (apparently this is normal though). Ordered the supreme and added green chili, extra-large (18"). Food came out pretty quickly, crust was thin and crunchy (until it got a bit colder and was not as crunchy). Pizza had a lot of toppings, it was huge, 8 slices, good flavor. Had parmesan, red pepper flakes, basil, and garlic powder on the table. Tasty! Pizza was about $20 pre-tax pre-tip, really big pizza though, definitely worth it. read more
