I always prefer eating at locally owned restaurants, and since Amadeo's is right up the street, we enjoy getting their pizza. We ordered the Amadeo's Special - pepperoni, sausage, beef, onion, bell peppers, olives, and mushrooms. Nice fresh veggies and toppings on a chewy crust make for a tasty pizza. We also got a half order of bread twists, which are basically knots of baked pizza dough with some seasonings. They were okay but could be more flavorful; some garlic and Parmesan would improve them. read more

I would give this place a 10 star rating if I could! I live in Alamogordo, NM, but I travel to Albuquerque few months and I always stop by the location on 98th street for the delicious Chicken Alfredo, Greek salad, and garlic bread. It is the best I have ever had and I have traveled all over the country. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I do recommend that you call your order in, because it is made from scratch and takes about 20 minutes to prepare. read more

Loved Amadeos ever since I was a kid and my husband was craving pizza (as usual). We ordered a pepperoni and cheese pizza with garlic and I was wanting a nice chef salad. I'll start by saying the pizza was absolutely PHENOMENAL. The sauce, cheese, and garlic combo was *chefs kiss*, however it was lacking on the pepperoni. The major (and only) disappointment of the night was the salad. I basically got a ham and cheese sandwich complete with egg and a pickle. Overall, there was hardly ANY actual salad in my salad. I got a few nice, crisp bites of iceberg at the very bottom of the bowl and altogether it was quite refreshing, just keep in mind the lack of lettuce in your salad when ordering the chef. Aside from the little issues, I absolutely recommend this place! Fantastic little 90's/00's vibe including a sick mortal kombat arcade game and tons of Coca Cola decor. This place is going downhill, my family use to enjoy ordering from here on a regular basis but this last experience will be our last. I ordered a pizza and a salad specifically for delivery, gave the employee my address and also paid over the phone with my debit card. The important part about this is I also left a tip on my debit card of 10 dollars for the delivery driver. She informed me it would be an hour when I put the order in around 7:15 pm. Well over an hour later the pizza had not shown up, I called around 8:45 pm to ask why and was rudely informed that they were closing and there was one order there but it was for pick up. I told her my name and also let her know that I had left a 10 dollar tip for the driver. She checked to see that it actually was my order, and they had listed it as pick up instead of delivery. I was already upset but keeping my cool and so I politely asked her if she could refund my order. Well low and behold I check my bank statement today and it was refunded but ten dollars short. They kept the tip of 10 dollars for doing nothing, but keeping my pizza, and never delivering it. Yep, you have indefinitely lost my business, the level of incompetence from your establishment is abismal to say the least. read more

We had one of the rudest exchanges with a manager this evening. We ordered a pizza sub, wings and a salad for delivery. The wings and salad were excellent. The pizza sub had handfuls of mushrooms and was missing the pepperoni. My husband called first and waited for 10 minutes to speak with the manager. She was rude to him and told him the sub came with mushrooms. She was only willing to remake it if we went and picked it up. She continued to insist he couldn't read and it comes with mushrooms. So I checked the menu and it doesn't come with mushrooms. It was also supposed to have pepperoni. He got frustrated and told her to forget it. She said she would give him a $5 credit on an $8 sandwich he wouldn't eat. He hung up. It made me mad, I order food from Amadeos on 98th 2-3 times a month because I work close. So I called back and got the same manager. She informed me she was remaking it and having it delivered. I told her I appreciate it but it doesn't excuse her poor attitude. I told her she owed my husband an apology and she refused. I will not patronize an establishment that treats long time customers with that kind of disrespect. read more

Usually, this place has great service, and their pizza is great. But, today I called to make an order for my workplace to order 7 pizzas, and the person on the phone gasped! He told me he would ask his manager if they could do it; the guy came back with, "We need 24-hour notice for that." The tone was rude and it is only 7 20-inch pizzas. Me and my boyfriend thought this would be a good spot to order pizza and bread knots . We were so wrong my boyfriend called to place the order the guy that answered was very unprofessional , didn't ask for the for the name for the order. We get to the restaurant walk in the guy has no clue what the order is or anything ? We inform the guy we placed the order and what are order was . The guy tells us he canceled are order because he didn't think we would show up ? We inform the guy you told us 35 minute wait . We placed the order at 7:30 and we live around the corner ? So I'm concerned to why the guy didn't call to see if we were coming for the order? You would think after all that the the nightmare would be over but sadly wrong . Get home to sit down and eat and my daughter tells me look mom . The pizza was doughy and not cooked just the toppings . The topping and the pizza were like 2 ply tissue splitting in 2 different directions. Very weird and odd. I would not recommend this place at all . These guys open at 11am M-F noon on Sun & have a drive thru which surprised me since it's a lil mom & pop joint ..rustic feel & homey ambiance with lots of retro memorabilia. The meatball sub is a $1 upgrade to the #5 lunch menu special but totally worth it! Also, please note: if you like your sub saucy I recommend getting the .80 side of extra marinara...this is some of the best gravy I've had in a long while!! read more

Their pizza is huge, toppping options are great! And according to a friend of mine who is originally from new york, the best new york-style pizza in town! I certainly love to order from them, when I can get to this location, but I miss their Lomas location. I loved to order from the Lomas location, but was just barely out of their delivery area. My only other issue, was that they closed a *lot* earlier than chain places for delivery, which in the university area, was not likely to help them sell. Still, I *love* their pizza, and would eat there whenever I get the chance. Garlic as a toppping option is both delicious, and rare. read more

Fantastic Pizza, Great People. One of the most beautiful and tasty pizzas I've had in a while. Quality ingredients, and the crust was very good, very good! I got a 16" and it feeds quite a few! It's not a super-high heat oven, but not everyone loves ashes on the bottom of their crust like you'll find at some other pizza places. But, it's true to form like the best pizzerias you'll find anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic, It's definitely as good as it gets and absolutely hands-down beats the chain pizza stores! I usually get a sub there, which are always great. This is my second pizza from them, I got my first from the South Valley store. I like the store on 98th better - but it's the difference between fantastic and excellent. It's worth the price! Plus, they can make some super-big pies! The pizza is worth 5 stars but it took almost 2 hours (1 hour and 47 minutes) from the time I called to the time it was delivered to my door. Amadeo's pizza is the best pizza I've had in Albuquerque but do yourself a favor, dine in rather than delivery. read more

Ordered 3 subs and desert cames out to 30 something gave the driver a $9 tip noticed they forgot somethings and called to have them delivered we just so happened to get the owner on the phone, at least that is what she said. Reasonable prices for HUGE portions (two people can share a side salad for sure) and quality rivaling the best sit down restaurants! First, I'll say their quality has certainly gone up hill in the past two years. That's probably because a Dion's Pizza and a Pizza 9 just opened up within their direct area and they realized they needed to finally - seriously compete. Still, their quality does not meet the standards of Dion's or Pizza 9 for that matter. Their food is okay - but not at all impressive or memorable. I think our biggest problem with this restaurant is the treatment by the staff in its entirety. This restaurant is family owned and operated and with that - it seems they feel that they can treat you any way they care to. Lastly, I wasn't aware that you're supposed to tip the window guy that hands you your food thru the, "to go - drive thru," window? I mean, I don't tip the McDonald's drive thru. Maybe I'm supposed to? Well, don't worry if you didn't know either. Those fellows at the drive thru will let you know straight away by way of a wicked sneer and a cold slam of their window every time if you don't. Just go to Dion's just down the street. I don't understand this. This restaurant used to be so good I'm just bragging about how great it was I invited my neighbor over. And my order was completely messed up. I ordered a large pizza with all pepperoni with 1/2 mushroom and the other half sausage. And they mixed it all together I ordered a chef salad with cheddar cheese instead of telling me they didn't have cheddar cheese they put on American cheese how disgusting. I called to complain and and the manager acted annoyed and pissed off. I'll have to try one of the other amadeos again hopefully their quality is still good read more

I recommend dining in to eat the pizza. For some odd reason just never tastes as good when we get it to go. The Stromboli and Pizza Rolls are great. Even though the hot wings seem like oven ones that you would get at the grocery store, they are surprisingly good. Amadeos has to have the best ranch dressing in Albuquerque. Yes even better than Dion's. My only complaint would have to be the grumpy staff who I believe are the family. It's much better now that there are younger kids working there. And if you get a salad, and they ask "would you like croutons and seeds with that?" they are charging you extra. read more

They have an option to use your last order I ADVISE TO NEVER USE THIS OPTION, no matter how many times its offered to you. They WILL OFFER IT but DO NOT USE IT....... Your Order will be wrong and they will make you feel like its your fault that it is...... It will take another 45min. Until you get the right pizza and now your hot wings are cold!!
