Dog-friendly seating? Off to a good start. We decided to do some wine tastings and share a charcuterie board. There was a different employee in this part of the winery. My husband mentioned that he couldn't have gluten and asked if there was a gluten-free alternative to the bread/crackers. Imagine my surprise when the board arrived with... tortilla chips. For a place that also specializes in gourmet foods, I was expecting something a little more exciting than chips. Gluten-free crackers, anyone? The wines were nice, and we really enjoyed sitting outside. The only other slight downer was the service. When I went inside for another tasting, I casually asked the server, "How's your day going?" His response: "I'm here." Well... I guess technically that answers the question. Clearly, he was having an off day. It happens, but you can't help but pick up on that energy when you're trying to relax and enjoy some wine. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part.
