Required dinner for 4. Burgers for all except the poor low-cal guy (me). I ordered a salad with shrimp as a protein I was not disappointed, fresh greens, cherry tomatoes and a bunch of big, fresh grilled shrimp Delicious The burgers (no lettuce due to recent news stories) were terrific Sweet potato tots hit the spot Will say after ordering 3 burgers cooked to "medium " They were undercooked My family was fine with medium rare, but some will not be Overall a terrific meal, thank you Turquoise read more

Menu looks decent. I see a bunch of great bar foods. Fried pickles, my fav. Caught my eye is the Frito pie. I have to try it. Also I asked it posole is made here or from a vendor. He said made here so I have to try that too. Frito pie has lettuce, onions tomato, beef and red chili with cheese. Omg!! This is amazing Frito pie!! I have had a lot of Frito pies a this is one of the best!! Also got a cup of posole. It okay, missing something. Maybe a spice, but it is decent. Too much fat on the pork made the posole very greasy. I don't know about the tea. Had a taste to it like when it starts to almost sit too long. Next time I'll just have water. Music playing; TVs had games on and staff was friendly Food as great but made me feel heavy after. I will come back as there are so many items on the menu to try. read more

Filthy restaurant, horrible food, and terrible service. We were clearly unhappy, and nothing was done to fix it. The waitress was visibly annoyed and acted like we were a problem for expecting basic service. Do not go. read more

We sat at the bar, happy we didn't choose a table or we would't have been able to converse and pick their brains. So this place is fantastic, on point like a cactus. Shrimp might as well have been Woodman's in Massachusetts, the inventors of the original fried clam -minus the rolled newspaper inky fingers. My spouse is a chef like perfectionist, a real Alton Brown chemist type and she enjoyed it which says a lot. Seafood is prepared in an authentic mid S. Florida to Key West style. Ingredients were excellent i.e., healthy large and snappy ocean shrimp with thick natural tail shells still attached. Fried avocado was our first ever, incredible. Beef tacos were just good, there are too many local options around NM to call them really great. Onion rings are amazing too. We needed to add a little salt to everything which likely for us just meant welcome back to NM. Crispiness of the food was perfect without any gritty cornmeal, remarkable skill. The drinks were made with a lot of thoughtfulness and consideration of front and back flavor profiles, always ending with a fresh fruit flavor. Melon drink was 5 stars. The strawberry was 4 stars, a little too proof hot up front. Can't say enough about how good this was overall. Wonderful to eat someplace where they aim for excellence and it really shows. We will be back. Thank you to the kitchen staff for your great work! (zero ai was used in writing this review) ~E read more

This has always been one of our favorite restaurants to take are family, friends and neighbors to, but this last trip with our family was very disappointing. Cheese steak and chicken sandwiches hardly had enough on them to fill half of the huge bun and the french fries were dripping with oil. The homemade chips were not fresh, tasted 3 or 4 days old. My grandson's two piece chicken tenders resembled fingers, about six inches in length. Very disappointing. read more

Great location the food is well above average. The servers are attentive. What's not to like?

Stumbled in last week wanting some pub favorites. Service started off a little slow - employees looked a little frustrated and this was close to opening hours. Opted to start off with the Queso which was absolutely delicious. The chips weren't my favorite but the queso was Fantastic. I ordered the Hangover Burger Medium Rare with the bacon jam on the side. My burger was well done and also on a Brioche Bun which was not mentioned on the menu. The pattys flavor was good even though it was way overcooked but the burger didn't work for me on the Brioche Bun. Too much bread to meat ratio. It took from the flavor really. A shame since the burgers insides were decent. My fries were very dark almost burned but not a big deal. My hubs opted for the Fish & Chips with the sweet potato tots. Well let me start by saying that the sweet potato tots were Absolutely Amazing. Would definitely get these again. Nice and crispy on the outside and just perfect on the inside. The fish was also good just a little more on the "fishy taste side" but that's to be expected since it did say on the menu that it's battered "Rockfish" which is not a fish we are familiar with since usually fish & chips is made with "Cod or Haddock" - but still delightful. The batter was tasty and it held up quite nicely. Service was nice and food came out at a reasonable time. Restaurant is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. Overall a nice place to try out read more

Wow, they must be actively trying to win the award for worst service in Rio Rancho. As the sign said to do we sat ourselves, then waited 10 minutes for someone to rudely throw a couple menus on the table and walk away. After another 10 minutes we gave up and left. Asked for the manager on the way out, he was nowhere to be found. Finally appeared and offered we're very busy as an excuse. While they weren't actually that busy let's help this establishment solve the problem. Either schedule extra staff or if you can't have the manager help out up front instead of hiding in the back. With a number of negative service related reviews perhaps ownership should pay attention and do something. Otherwise, there's another microbrew right down the street. read more

I'd been running around all day and just needed to sit for a little while. So I asked a friend if she had been and she said she loves it there. So I went. Sometimes I'm all about the vibe of the place. It had a good vibe. Bar was pretty much full but I found an empty spot. Lots of the tables were occupied, people chatting and having a good time. The food being delivered looked good too. People working in the kitchen were busy and collaborating. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I ordered a patty melt with onion rings (they were HUGE!!!) and tacos. Asked about the green cauliflower rice (it has cilantro) I don't like cilantro at all so I didn't order any with it. I had the tacos figured that was safe option since I wasn't super hungry. Everything was fresh and well prepared and good. I'll be back because I want to try their fish and chips. Plus this place is local. They're in enchanted hills near the newer defined fitness in that strip center. read more

In town for a long weekend visiting friends and we decided to try this tap room for dinner. Who am I to say "no" to a tap room? It was Friday evening and there was, surprisingly, no wait to be seated. It was pretty packed and there was a game of some kind being shown on the televisions (I can't tell you who was playing. Jim doesn't do sports). Our server met us pretty quickly and brought us water and took drink orders. I was definitely down for a flight and offered to set me up with a flight of her favorites, minus one because I specified I wanted at least one IPA. We were good with that. The flight (photos provided) was colourful and looked promising. Congo also approved. After we got our drinks apparently the place got slammed because the nice lady who was our server (whose name we didn't get) disappeared behind the bar to take care of drink orders. After about 10 minutes of waiting to place our food orders we decided to just flag down any person walking by. We didn't get his name, but he was able to get our food orders placed. My wife ordered a pretzel as an appetizer, I ordered the Nachos. I was surprised when he asked what kind of cheese I wanted, queso or shredded. I'm a queso-over-nachos kinda guy, but it's nice to have the option. Of the flight, 3 out of 4 were amazeballz. When she asked if I wanted to try the Winter Warmer I said "ok, I'll try something new". It was Santa Fe Brewing's Adobe Igloo. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. When I tasted it I....umm...didn't know what to make of it. It was malty, but had other tastes I couldn't pinpoint. Our friends tried it as well and it was met by a "huh" from all of us. The rest of the beers in the flight were good with a huge shout-out to the Turquoise Trail Cream Ale (which was recommended by our server). That one definitely gets Best In Show. The pretzel that wifey ordered was not your average ordinary hot pretzel. It was large and airy, not dark brown and dense. It tasted great, but it wasn't what you're used to. The beer cheese queso complimented it very nicely. My Congo Approved Nachos with beef were most excellent. The plate was heaping, and came with fresh serrano peppers. *High-Five* for the fresh serranos! The staff was constantly in motion keeping tables clean, drinks flowing, and food delivered. I wouldn't mind visiting again on a future trip to Albuquerque. read more

A year ago this would have been 5 stars. Menu is good with a wide range of choices, food is typically good. Can't go wrong with the wings or a classic green chili cheese burger. What has changed is the service. If not busy you will enjoy a friendly attentive staff. On the other hand when busy they are always short handed and the staff is doing what they can to keep up. No fault of the staff, poor management decision. So this place can be hit or miss. I now find myself going to turtle just for the consistency. Too bad I would rather be here but never know what to expect. If the parking lot is full I don't stop. read more

I ordered the chili cheese fries, but with chili con carne I steadily of the hatch chili peppers. The fries were soggy, even before the chili con carne and cheese were added. My daughter had a Turquoise Burger with lettuce and tomato and their works. The burger was okay, and she had the same problem with soggy fries too. They were cooked on the outside, but limp. I think this is from the cooking grease not being hot enough. The service was adequate and the iced tea was fine. It would be better if they added some flavored iced tea to their menu. There were 3 other tables with guests at lunch today, so the kitchen was not stressed with too many orders. The bakery associated with the restaurant was closed next door and we had been interested in checking them out. Maybe next time. read more

UPDATE-- With a sad heart, I update this review. The last 3x my husband and I have gone to turquoise desert the service behind the counter was bad, not only lacking but eye rolling, yawning, and just not interested in taking our orders. D There were only two other people sitting at the bar and it took us 10 minutes to flag down the gal behind the counter to order a beer. She was rude and distant. After I finish my beer, she never asked me if I wanted another one, or take our order. Her demeanor was terrible. Remember this, all tips start at zero and are earned. Sad for the owner; the face of the restaurant are the servers. We really like the owner and the food is good. I don't think his staff represents him. But we're going to give this establishment a break for a while. We eat out a lot. Hopefully the owner read this message and makes changes. read more

Food was not good, service was terrible, manager was not helpful and the owner couldn't listen to us without loosing his cool. The chicken appetizer was 8 pieces of chicken, about the size of small chicken nuggets. My fish tacos were not good either, the green chile stew was... sad, lacking taste, watery. The milk shake was not drinkable either. read more

The food is great, especially for Bernalillo local options. We love the serranos on the nachos, and the fries. The service is generally hit or miss, kind of mid. Normally the food would overshadow the service, but, the draft beer is always "not quite cold," and quickly goes tepid... if the beer was colder and there were more local tap options, would definitely bump this rating up!!! We frequent many breweries and taprooms around town and elsewhere, and it's noticeable. read more

Great atmosphere and under new ownership. First time in and great to meet the owners who are also veterans. They have 26 taps of beer and cider and the leinenkugel summer shandy which I haven't had in years. I ordered the Hangover Burger with Onion Rings and the burger was messy, the way I like it, and the onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. Kelly was very nice and made sure I was taken care of and just watching both bartenders could tell they keep up with everyone around the bar and tables. Hats off to the chef for making great bar food. The bathrooms were nice and clean. I think I have found my hang out place. read more

The food was amazing. The server was super good and she made sure we were good. It was slow when we were there but that was okay.

Went there recently to watch my favorite NFL team play since they have NFL Ticket, huge plus! Other than that, service was not very good at all, well bartender Ashley.... I may not be a regular or a guy but I still exist! The redeeming factor was the fried pickle chips, freshly made and very tasty! read more

Best fried pickles I've ever had! The dish on the left is vegan wings (which were perfectly fried) and the right are the pickles. Ignore the one vegan wing I have in there. The batter is perfectly crispy and light and they make their own pickles. So delicious! I also ordered their fried shrimp basket. The shrimp was also cooked perfectly! It was cooked better than even most fine dining restaurants I've been to. They know how to do fried foods well! Their service was friendly and efficient. Never had to ask for a drink refill. They were on top of things! I can't wait to go back and get the fried pickles again and try another dish off of their menu. read more

On an early October bike ride, I stopped into this taproom when they were first renovating. They replaced the Little Anitas that used to be at this location. I met the co-owners, Phil and Craig, after knocking on the front door. They were super friendly and told me they were hoping for an opening in November. After eyeing my Dallas Cowboys t-shirt, they told me the first beer would be "on the house" when they officially opened. I stopped by today, Saturday, November 16, and was told by one of the co-owner's son that they would open Monday, November 18. They have plenty of televisions to watch sports as well as comfortable couches. With 23 beers on tap I am sure they will be full to the brim with customers when they open. If you live in Enchanted Hills or near it, give this local business some revenue. They have a nice venue and are good people (obvious by their support of the Cowboys). I will be here on opening day and for many days to come. read more

Disappointed We went on a weekend night and we were expecting a good experience like many reviewers claimed. We ordered two fish and chips with onion rings and fry's. But we left unhappy with both the food and the service. This review has recommendations based on my experience as a former restauranteur. First, wait staff needs more training. Food should never be served without a full table setting (napkins & utensils). Asking for table settings is not only annoying but a time waster for wait staff. It was even more annoying to watch the wait staff buss a table after we anxiously waited for her to bring us anything to eat our food that had already been served. A better system of bussing and resetting is needed. Either reset when bussed, or provide the setting in the condiment caddy, or provide settings when taking the order. Pre-wrapped utensils are OK but include a knife not just a fork since many people like to cut things up for eating, even finger food. The beer is good, but the ice tea was so weak it was undrinkable. Consider adding additional non-alcoholic drinks. The food, especially the batter, was bland and tasteless. It needs more flavor from other seasoning and not more salt! The onion rings could be much better with a more flavorful batter, but the fries were very brown, close to burned, soggy and greasy. It's less costly to dump a ruined basket of fry's than lose potential repeat customers in the long run. The same problem with the coleslaw which also lacked any flavor. It was also STALE, at least a day old, which is totally unacceptable!! Robert Irving from Restaurant Impossible, would simply say "YUK" and spit it out. We may try eating there again if these problems are resolved. read more

I had the Tequila Lime Shrimp and Chicken. The 4 large shrimp were perfectly cooked. The chicken had just enough seasoning. I love their cauliflower rice. If you're thinking of getting chips & salsa, guac, or queso, do yourself a favor and get house potato chips instead of corn chips. They're great. Service is prompt and friendly. read more

Camping in the area and decided to see what other "bars are near me". Thankfully yelp came through with an establishment that I've never been to, or heard of. Turquoise Desert top was easy to find, great open space, with an inviting bar top seating area. Our server was Amelia, who greeted us with a smile, and had a friendly attitude throughout our visit. The food was pretty good, we ordered the trio dip and wings (Cajun dusted, extra crispy). Everything was the way we ordered, no complaints there. Nice selection of local beers on draft. Along with options of domestic bottled beers, wines, seltzers and pre made cocktails. I would definitely come back to watch some nfl football. There are a total of 10 TVs throughout the taproom, so plenty of monitors to look at. read more

I'm leaving this very honest and less than sparkling review with hopes of future improvement. I really hope it gets better because it's so close to home. The service was a solid 3. Our server seemed new to the industry but did her darndest. She was very nice but it did take a while for an initial greeting when we seated ourselves. After that she seemed to get in a groove. The food was a miss for sure. The turquoise trio was ok but it's hard to mess up chips, queso and guac. The guac tasted bagged with the addition of fresh tomatoes and citrus. Good salsa and queso. Now, one of the disappointing parts was the dinner. We ordered a steak burrito with hopes of old world style Little Anitas food. What we got was weird and scarce beef. It was a cold-ish tortilla with very limited amounts of meat and an abundance of onions/pico/cheese. The onion rings were straight up WEIRD! There was no flavor. The batter was weird and dense and not crispy at all. It was like pizza crust (doughy) over some rings of onion. The beer was cold and good. But the lady behind the bar would wipe the head off the pour with her finger!!!!! What in the world!!!?? Whomever is responsible for training should address that first and foremost. Super unhygienic and made me want to leave immediately!! read more

Went for lunch last Tuesday. The taco Tuesday was great the service was amazing. Brought our son and granddaughter the next Tuesday and what a huge disappointment. Here was only one server for the tables which is understandable if you are short staffed. We were not impatient customers but the service was terrible. We ordered 2 pizzas 10 tacos chili cheese fries and a side of fries for the baby. Took a while but the chili cheese fries came out and they were good not as good as the week before but good. Asked for the fries for the baby and person who delivered the food was irritated that I asked. Then some time later the pizzas come no fries for the baby or tacos. The pizza was not cut when you tried to pick it up it fell off the crust the crust was under done. Our son was aggravated and said he needed to leave because the baby was hungry and unfed. We told the manager we were leaving and wanted to pay for the beers and food. While we were waiting the tacos came out we turned them back. The waiter came asked what happened we explained and he said he would bring our ticket. The waiter came said the bill was for 2 beers for $23 dollars I questioned the price he left Erica the manager came over and said "you ate the chili fries so you owe $23. Did not argue we should pay for what we ate we questioned what the waiter told us we were charged for and Erica said we requested more off our bill and inferred we should be grateful she was not charging us for $65 worth of food that was not good that we did not eat. It is not the customers fault if the food is not good or off the staffing is bad. I am sad I thought this new menu was going to make us repeat customers but the service not only changed that but my son who live close by will not come again either. read more
