Another trip to Peppermill, another fantastic meal at Chi! The host has a great attitude, and our waitress, Keira, was so thoughtful and attentive. It was our anniversary and she made it extra special. We had the Mongolian Beef, which was tender and full of flavor. We also had a large piece of their famous coconut pineapple cake. It was out of this world!! The whole restaurant is beautiful and perfect for a special occasion. We will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone at Chi for a memorable evening.

3/24/26- Dropped in with my visiting out of town youngest son.. Not too hungry but enough to order a few dishes.. Stir fried fish with greens - always a great tasting fish plate- Went with the lemon chicken- pretty tasty.. Spicy eggplant was really good- : special treat- they gave me a slice of coconut cake (pre birthday ).. Service always attentive- Left with some leftovers..

We're staying at Peppermill for my daughter's volleyball tournament this weekend, and after a terrible experience at another restaurant in the hotel where we couldn't eat, we decided to give this place a try. It was late so we got our food to go. We asked about accommodating a gluten allergy, and the assistant manager was incredibly helpful. She took the time to answer all of our questions and even went back to the kitchen whenever she wasn't sure. The gentleman taking our order was also very friendly and more than willing to double-check everything to ensure our food was safe. We ordered the Mongolian beef with rice to share, and it was good. We also got the calamari as an appetizer it was gluten-free, but fried in a shared fryer, so I chose not to eat it. Overall, it was a good experience, a little pricey. Appetizer and one dish was $53.00. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I was in need of a late night meal so I took a chance and wandered into Chi, i'm sat in the bar. As you know, if you play video poker ball sitting in the bar, you don't have to pay for your drinks. I should've got his name that the guy working there was amazing! I said what's the best thing on the menu. He said it's not on the menu, but I highly recommend it. It's the general cho beef. Flash fried top sirloin! It was incredible and even the rice was good, which is kind of weird cause it's just rice. The food came out really fast and fresh and the lighting was good. The seats were nice.

I saw the review and said no way this place looks way to fancy. So the decor and vibe is a 5. Super elevated from your basic place. When the food came out it was priced very well and there was so much of it. The service was good. However the food was mid/meh at best. On one hand I'm glad it wasn't good because I didn't over eat and on the other I was expecting bomb pot stickers and pad Thai. Even the chili sauce couldn't save the dish. It was under seasoned, the chicken was rubbery and the fact I had to mix it up myself was a disaster in its self. Nice visit but won't go back.

The place is decorated nicely and the atmosphere fits the dishes, but to be honest, the food was not worth the price point. It's a good place for a date, but the food was average. The egg plant was good, the chow fun lacked meat, the pork dish was mediocre, and the steamed fish could've been better. The service was okay, it could've been better seeing as this place is supposed to be upscale.

This is the first time I came to Chi, the fancy Chinese restaurant inside the Peppermill Casino. I will say it's decorated pretty fancy in here, not like your mom and pop Chinese restaurant that's for sure. Normally, I don't come to places liker this, I'd rather go to a regular Chinese restaurant, but I'm being taken here by a local friend. I see the menu, holy crap, these prices are about double what the same food would be at a regular place. Pot Stickers for $21? Really? or chow mien for $27? OK, I didn't say anything cause I'm not the one paying. There were some real exotic stuff on the menu too, that I had no idea what it was, cause I didn't know fishes had "maws" or what a "Sea Cucumber" even looks like! He didn't order anything too weird at least! We had crab rangoons, pot stickers and beef chow fun with black bean sauce and the honey walnut prawns. I will say, all the food was pretty tasty and cooked well, the chow fun was good as were the prawns .... but I did notice they were $37 just for that dish! We both enjoyed the food here, but me personally I probably wouldn't come back, well, OK, unless I wasn't the one paying! I think a lot of the people eating here must be getting comped cause they're high rollers!

Fine dining Chinese food! Beautiful decor and great service. The lychee martini is delish! We came in almost at close and they accommodated us. The spring rolls and potstickers were good. The hot and sour soup was a huge bowl! The stir fried rice noodles were packed with veggies and very flavorful. The star of the night was the 1/2 Peking duck! Perfectly cooked and meaty! We ended with the complimentary almond cookies and the mango tapioca pudding.

    Gorgeous dining room

This restaurant is so beautiful and decadent! The service is outstanding and the food I absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back!

Made reservations one month in advance, requesting booth, as table . One star off for not getting the booth, even there are several booths available. The restaurant over all is busy, with diners enjoying their dinner. The food is good over all, but the seafood bowl is bit salty, couple of scallops are over cooked which is not a dealbreaker... the gravy is good that will compensate for the scallops mishaps. Peaking duck is moist, perfect with the bun and hoisin sauce. I enjoyed the seafood noodles ... no complaints.

Never disappoints. From the service to the food. We chose the whole Pecking Duck. I prefer mine for the skin to be crispier but it was still good. Lemmon chicken had great flavor. The rice noodle dish was my favorite. Love the salt pepper chicken wings.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Reno. The food, service, and ambiance is amazing. We got the honey walnut shrimp and fish with vegetables. So good. Check it out.

I love it here, my family & I came here 2x to celebrate & the first time was when we tried it and fell in love! Its pricey but definitely good! Kyra/kaira (im not sure how to spell her name) always has great customer service & GREAT recommendations! Always so full of spirit when taking care of our orders making sure everything is going good and we're happy w/ our orders! The atmosphere really sets the vibe for a nice dinner night perfect for family nights & catching up w/ friends.

Support local…read more Quality/Quantity - Today I took my guest here, from SF, where Perapol is also from. Then we went back to the casino GSR. Today we got the following: Garlic Pork & Rice - My dish. Deep fried pork with garlic, what is there NOT to like?!?! I did not expect it to be bite size pieces, which made it easy to eat. The sauce was on the side, which was not really needed. My rice might have been slightly undercooked...? Very firm/hard, or was it the last of the pot? Still good, but I would preferred it softer. Wonton Noodle Soup - A classic dish, another dish that is very hard to do wrong. Both dishes were perfect quantities for us, both light eaters. No left overs. Many other menus, specials, etc. See my pictures or their website. Atmosphere - Decent size location. Much bigger than the previous location. Indoor and outdoor seating. Free metered parking after 6pm, we got here at 6:01pm, lol. Summer hours - See my pictures. Still closed Mondays. Service - Perapol is very personable. He took the time to talk with all the customers and checked up on us frequently. Price - $30 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success at this new location since 2023 and your previous location since 2021.

Unfortunately, for me, it was all hype and not much substance. First off, the ambiance wasn't what I look for when dining out -- industrial, loud, and filled with metal chairs. Not exactly inviting or comfortable. I ordered two of the recommended dishes: Thai Boat Noodles and Garlic Pork with Ginger Coconut Rice. Of the two, the Thai Boat Noodles was the standout it woudl be something I'd order again. The Garlic Pork dish including the rice, though, was a letdown. It tasted okay, nothing memorable. Take a look at the photo of my entrée: it looks sad and unfinished. With so many other great Asian spots both here in Reno and back home in Minden, we won't be back.

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. Even though Kwok's is right across the street from where I live, this restaurant would be at the top of my list of "I would drive out of my way to eat here"

To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. I just wish the Cantonese dishes had delivered the wok hei I was expecting from a place with "Hong Kong Diner" in its name. :)
