I had the pleasure of trying out Chesapeake Cookie Company, a small-batch cookie food truck based in Chesapeake, VA. We found them at the Santa Claus event at Big Ugly Brewery, and let me just say--this sweet stop was totally worth the heat!
We started with their best-seller: the Banana Pudding Cookie, and it did not disappoint. Moist, flavorful, and topped with the cutest little vanilla wafer--it was like banana pudding wrapped in a hug.
Next up: the Café con Leche cookie. I expected a strong coffee note, but it reminded me more of a brown sugar snickerdoodle--sweet, soft, and unexpectedly one of my favorites. Had to come back to edit it was a sweet little surprise in the center of the cookie. I found the Leche so good with the caramel touch in the center.
The S'mores cookie was another standout with a buttery graham base and a gooey chocolate drizzle. I would've loved a little more marshmallow, but the flavor and texture were on point for s'mores season.
As for the Maple Bacon, I was excited--it's such a bold combo--but the maple flavor could've been stronger inside the cookie. Still, the glaze and bacon bits on top were a tasty touch.
Across the board, these cookies were:
Moist and fresh
Packaged in quality bags (though I do wish they were resealable)
Clearly made with care and creativity
The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming--even in the summer heat--and that personal touch makes all the difference. Lexi got to try teeny bites of each one, and they were 100% Bougie Pup Approved.
