We are frequent fliers at Gelati Celesti and I have yet to have an experience less than 5 stars. We are always welcomed in by friendly employees... I mean, who wouldn't be happy working at an ice cream shop?! I love the variety of flavors - including dairy free options! We usually come about once a month to try a monthly release. You can taste as many of the options as you like, which is great if you're undecided! Staff is always patient while you're deciding (which can take a while if you're 5 years old and like everything that has chocolate in it)! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is bright, clean and inviting with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have an outdoor area with tables that is perfect on nice days.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They offer to-go options already packaged as well as other sweet treats like ice cream sandwiches and cakes. Price point is pretty high when compared with purchasing in the stores, but absolutely worth it for an occasional sweet treat unlike anything you can get in a grocery store!

I love the decor and there is a ton of seating with a water station and two unisex restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff were exceptionally friendly when my friend and I stopped in for a sweet treat after dinner next door. They were happy to let us sample until we made up our minds and were really patient with the group in front of us whose daughter probably tasted every flavor they had. Haha. My friend is allergic to soy so she was thrilled to see the allergy info listed for every flavor and included soy! I got cookies and cream and mint scoops in a cup and she had a Dulce de Leche milkshake. Both were delish.
Gelati Celesti is a go-to in my family. From the insane amount of flavors to choose from (even though I almost always get Chocolate Decadence). I absolute love their mint chip and amaretto flavors too. We've even ordered a 6-flight of ice cream this past Valentine's Day and it was the absolute best V-Day outing. Everything is made fresh and in house. You really can't beat a visit to Gelati Celesti. The service is always friendly and they always recommend trying any flavors to see what you're in the mood for! My go to is a waffle cone with chocolate decadence - very rich chocolate like brownie batter, just ask - vanilla ice cream with crushed cookies and peanut butter ribbons, and my absolute favors vanilla chip - vanilla with big broken pieces of chocolate [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is outdoor seating on the side of the building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also a walk up window to order from.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Special mention to Mia* for not judging my multiple visits. Stop by and check this place out!

I highly recommend the butter pecan and the cherry vanilla! Some of the best I've had ever. The icecream has a great flavor and such a nice consistency.
One of my favorite spots to satisfy my sweet tooth! I'm so glad they opened a spot closer to us in Town Center! The staff is friendly and their gelato flavors are fresh and flavorful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is always so clean when we come by and the staff is welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm always looking forward to coming here and seeing what new flavors they have available. So far, my favorite is the almond amaretto! Next on my list to try is one of their ice cream cakes!

Absolutely delicious. Everything was clean and pristine inside. We also took some ice cream cookie sandwiches to go. All of the cool flavors were awesome. We were able to try as many as we wanted! We will definitely be going back. The fact that the ice cream is homemade, makes this place even better. I don't think their are cake cones were homemade, but possibly their waffle cones. I'm really happy I found a new ice cream joint. Definitely recommend for those who haven't stopped by yet.
Hello. My name is MG and I am an ice cream-aholic. Not only did I partake at an awesome yelp event at the Chesapeake location prior to lunch. I also decided to check out their First Colonial location to try their (Post) Melone flavored ice cream after lunch. Now, don't get me wrong. I had the coconut cream topped off with the coffee and cream flavors at the Chesapeake location which was energizing and tropical all at the same time?! I didn't know whether I should start cleaning my house or add a paper umbrella to my coconut cream flavored ice cream and relax! You know their ice cream is something to scream about if I went to 2 different locations in one day! Hahahah
I've heard great things about Gelati Celesti so I'm glad I got to try it out. The staff was very helpful and patient as my family and I tried different flavors. I got a small cup of the Just Ask flavor. I think it was cookies and cream with peanut butter. It was very tasty. My only feedback would be maybe making the peanut butter pieces smaller. Looking forward to trying other flavors there soon as the weather gets warmer.
So excited that Gelati Celesti (GC) opened a location in Chesapeake! They are just inching closer to us and we couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, if we had to drive to Town Center or Hilltop, we'd do it without hesitation. It would be worth the drive, but this makes it even more convenient to indulge. This store is located in the newest construction zone across from Summit Pointe. Love that they are in the same complex as Aldi. Makes multi-tasking easier, another win. Same layout as the one in Town Center, slightly smaller. However, Town Center has the covered outdoor patio, but in Chesapeake, they have the takeout window like the one at Hilltop. You can find all your favorites: 24 regular flavors and 12 rotating flavors. I have had most of their flavors, either from ordering a small cup or getting a milkshake or simply with a sample. My fave is the coffee & cream. The best! And then, if I'm lucky, they have a cheese flavor like blueberry ricotta or ricotta and chocolate. Today, I had the blueberry cheesecake in the form of a milkshake. The consistency was smooth and creamy as usual. They give you a boba straw with the milkshakes which are perfect for this milkshake because there were blueberry bits and cheesecake chunks! So good! My kids got GC's sorbettos and have yet to be disappointed with their choices! Service is always courteous and helpful here, which is consistent with their other locations. So happy they are closer to us! Stay safe, Friends!
Gelati Celesti has the best ice cream! I found a new amazing flavor-chocolate decadence. It is a very rich chocolate flavor that is AMAZING! Staff is always so happy and enthusiastic. I like the lavender and Oreo mint flavors too that I got to sample. They are very generous with sampling. Thank you! Place is spotless and organized all the time. Decor is great and provides for great picture opportunities. Parking is easy and location is across Summit Pointe. I always have a great time at this Gelati Celesti.

Ice cream can get incredibly rich for me very fast, but that wasn't my experience with their rainbow cookie ice cream! Very smooth, almost reminiscent to birthday cake, with just the right touch of sweetness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are plenty of seating indoors, and lots of spots to park your car outside![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff are friendly and they keep the place extremely spotless, cleaning surfaces and even wiping down the glass doors and windows through the night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have a water dispenser in the event that you need a sip of water and it's great for people like myself who need water after a sweet! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very quiet around the evening (we were there around 8:40pm) and there's hardly a line, if at all.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But the place stays open til 10pm throughout the week. Stopped in here on a freezing cold day (like... 19 degrees outside), and honestly? Ice cream in 19 degree weather? Why not. Zero regrets. First off, the staff were super friendly and welcoming right when we walked in. They were more than happy to let us sample a few flavors, which I always appreciate, especially when there are so many options and everything sounds good. The flavor selection is seriously impressive, and it makes choosing just one feel impossible. They don't just do basic scoops either. You can get milkshakes, malts, ready-to-go pints, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream pies, or keep it classic with a cup or cone. Basically, whatever ice-cream mood you're in, they've got something for you. I ended up going with the cookie dough ice cream sandwich, and it absolutely hit the spot. The ice cream was super creamy and packed with cookie dough, and the cookies themselves were soft, chewy, and the perfect match for the filling. It was rich without being too much, which is saying something for an ice cream sandwich. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole place just had a really easy, fun vibe. I haven't had gelato ice cream in a while so I was craving it. Walking in it looked brand new and clean, I was afraid to touch anything. Gelati Celesti sure did their thing and satisfied my cravings. The ice cream was smooth and creamy. I got the S'Mores, Churro and Birthday cake. I know those combo combinations don't mix well together but I had to try it. They had over 36 flavors and I'm definitely coming back to try more. I saw a couple of reviews about the service and I believe I did encounter that person. It was awkward for about 30 secs but when I kept talking to her it got better. I understand that every business is suppose to make you feel welcome and comfortable but we should give people a second chance. read more

Sophia and I headed back here for a 2nd go-around after attending for Yelp Elite week. We have never been disappointed with each visit so I knew it would be great as usual. And this visit did no different. Amazingly, we were the only customers which was surprising on a great summer day. We were immediately greeted by the lone worker behind the counter and got in line. Like before, the decor inside Gelati Celesti is spotless. Can't add anything else to that. When it came to choosing flavors, I happened to pick melone, which is a cantaloupe. Don't laugh, but I've never eaten cantaloupe so there was a little hesitation on my part at first. I actually saw this profiled by our Yelp CM Yoonie during one of her visits. After reaching out asking about the flavor, her response was "You never had melone?! Really?!! You need to try it!!' There is an old saying that we all know and I'm sure it's embetted in Yelpers' brains: you only live once. All I gotta say is thank you for the suggestion. It was very good and not too sweet. You can never go wrong with a scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. One of the best flavors I've had at any location. Well, there you have it. Another fine visit to a great place. Thank you Gelati Celesti for giving us a scoop of your stretchy ice cream. I was too excited to eat my ice cream today that I forgot to capture everyone's ice cream. There was a line due to the grand opening but it was well worth it. They are located beside Vogue Lashes and Spa and in the vicinity of Urban Hotpot, off of Volvo parkway. The staff here, and the interior cleanliness was spot on. The decor and table seating makes coming here with groups a plus. I came with my party of 7 and we all were able to get good seating in their outdoor patio with my dog. My family enjoyed every every ounce of their scoop of ice cream, even licking their spoons. I loved my lavender scoop, we had the just ask, pralines and cream, orange crush sorbetto, and kettle corn. The staff were so friendly and even gave us a scoop for our dog to enjoy. This place stands out for their handmade italian style churned ice cream. With over 85 flavors they put out on rotations, you'd be surprised every time with new choices. I strangely I enjoyed the interesting pull you'd get from scooping your spoon of ice cream. It looks like taffy meets ice cream. Every time I dove my spoon into the ice cream, I had to wrap my spoon around my ice cream. There are several locations to this franchise. Three now in Hampton roads. There are two in Va Beach and the newly opened branch is now in Chesapeake. Gelato Celesti has been serving others since 1984, with over 7 location in Richmond, VA. Way to go!! I found this to be our new family favorite ice cream store. It looks like around summer time they will be opening their window walk up counter outside by their patio. I know then it will be hard to resist becoming a frequent visitor, come time the heat starts kicking in. read more
Last Saturday the man and I were running errands down this way and after a delectable lunch at Krispy Krunch I was hankering a dessert. With there being so many new establishments along this road that we haven't tried I did a quick Google search and found Gelati Celesti. The man told me he wasn't interested in dessert since he didn't have any belly room. That all changed when he saw Kettle Corn gelato. It was an 'all she wrote' moment for him. He got his 3 scoops of kettle corn gelato in his Waffle cone. I, on the other hand, couldn't pull the plug on just one favorite so my 3 scoops were: Almond Joy (on the bottom), Banana and topped with Butter Pecan. The pecan was good, the banana was better but the Almond Joy was the star of my Waffle cone scoops. While it was very good ice cream/gelato it isn't what I would deem authentic gelato. We spent 3 years in Italy courtesy of the military and had to die for gelato. The young lady running the show was quite friendly and accommodating. As we were enjoying our dessert in the parking lot I noticed that not only did they have a walk up window but there was a water bowl for pets near the walk up window. Next time we're down this way, I'll be sure to have plenty of belly space to try other flavors. read more
Ice cream in itself is a treat for me. Gelati...let's just say for me is a big deal. Even with storm brewing I still made the trip and got the seasonal pumpkin ginger snap and a random surprise chocolate flavor to go with it. I think the young lady behind the counter gave something Java. As always, I enjoyed it the store is bright and clean and the ladies behind the counter are always friendly and patient. read more
I've visited Gelati Celesti at one of their original locations in Richmond, VA, but this is my first visit at this location. I'm happy to say it wasn't any different. Great customer service, friendly staff, clean and inviting. Plus there's over 24 different flavors of ice cream. I tried one of the special, which was the Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookie Dough. It tasted just like an oatmeal raisin cookie, with the hint of spice and nutmeg. I don't really eat sweets, so the toddler size was just right for me. My family members also got the small size of vanilla with sprinkles, along with a small two scoop with butter pecan and Oreo. Miriam was helping us and she was super kind and sweet. 10 out 10, we recommend! read more

Highly recommend going here and enjoying their ice cream. We used to stop by their shops whenever we were in Richmond and we are thrilled they have expanded to the Chesapeake and Va beach areas. Their ice cream is consistently delicious and the service is always great. They let you sample the flavor before you choose which is helpful since they have a ton of unique options. The vibe is kind of retro and super chill. If you have a family or just want a cute date then stop in for some tasty ice cream. read more

I've been to the Gelati Celesti location in Virginia Beach and I was so happy to find out they opened one in my neck of the woods. My son and I came here on a Monday afternoon after he had a tooth taken out. Perfect right?! There was just one lady there and no customers. They had a good selection of flavors and free samples so I took advantage. I ended up choosing a scoop of their peach gelato and my son ordered a scoop of their chocolate peanut butter. He loved it! The peach was very tasty. You could taste the fresh peaches in it and it was not too sweet. Our two scoops totaled about $11 which to me is a bit pricey but we're still fans! This will be one of our new go tos from now on! read more
Run (do not walk!) to this newly opened gelato store in the heart of Chesapeake. There are so many flavors from which to choose and they will let you try as many as you need to make your decision. All of the flavors I tried were delightful but I ultimately went with both a decadent orange chocolate and a butter pecan. Early January is a month filled with healthy eating resolutions and swearing off sweets. (Not me. I know myself well enough to realize that I am in for disappointment if I start the year off with such ridiculous goals.). I'm here to tell you, though, this gelato is worth the broken resolutions. No regrets, just happiness in the form of frozen milk and sugar. read more

Best ice cream in all of Virginia Beach! The staff is always super friendly too. Definitely try the "Just Ask" flavor, so delicious. Also, I came here with my sister in law who has celiac disease and they were happy to open a fresh tub so there was no gluten contamination. read more
