Gelati celesti is a cozy, modern ice cream shop with a great selection of ice cream flavors! My friend and I enjoyed a small cup of the rainbow cookie ice cream during our visit. Ice cream can get incredibly rich for me very fast, but that wasn't my experience with their rainbow cookie ice cream! Very smooth, almost reminiscent to birthday cake, with just the right touch of sweetness. There are plenty of seating indoors, and lots of spots to park your car outside! The staff are friendly and they keep the place extremely spotless, cleaning surfaces and even wiping down the glass doors and windows through the night. They also have a water dispenser in the event that you need a sip of water and it's great for people like myself who need water after a sweet! The place is very quiet around the evening (we were there around 8:40pm) and there's hardly a line, if at all. But the place stays open til 10pm throughout the week. The place deserves more traction. I mean, who wouldn't be happy working at an ice cream shop?! I love the variety of flavors - including dairy free options! We usually come about once a month to try a monthly release. You can taste as many of the options as you like, which is great if you're undecided! Staff is always patient while you're deciding (which can take a while if you're 5 years old and like everything that has chocolate in it)! The store is bright, clean and inviting with plenty of seating. They also have an outdoor area with tables that is perfect on nice days. They offer to-go options already packaged as well as other sweet treats like ice cream sandwiches and cakes. I absolute love their mint chip and amaretto flavors too. We've even ordered a 6-flight of ice cream this past Valentine's Day and it was the absolute best V-Day outing. This is a large and very nice GC location. I love the decor and there is a ton of seating with a water station and two unisex restrooms. Staff were exceptionally friendly when my friend and I stopped in for a sweet treat after dinner next door. They were happy to let us sample until we made up our minds and were really patient with the group in front of us whose daughter probably tasted every flavor they had. Haha. My friend is allergic to soy so she was thrilled to see the allergy info listed for every flavor and included soy! I got a small cup of the Just Ask flavor. I think it was cookies and cream with peanut butter. It was very tasty. My only feedback would be maybe making the peanut butter pieces smaller. So excited that Gelati Celesti (GC) opened a location in Chesapeake! They are just inching closer to us and we couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, if we had to drive to Town Center or Hilltop, we'd do it without hesitation. It would be worth the drive, but this makes it even more convenient to indulge. This store is located in the newest construction zone across from Summit Pointe. Love that they are in the same complex as Aldi. Makes multi-tasking easier, another win. Same layout as the one in Town Center, slightly smaller. However, Town Center has the covered outdoor patio, but in Chesapeake, they have the takeout window like the one at Hilltop. You can find all your favorites: 24 regular flavors and 12 rotating flavors. I have had most of their flavors, either from ordering a small cup or getting a milkshake or simply with a sample. My fave is the coffee & cream. The best! And then, if I'm lucky, they have a cheese flavor like blueberry ricotta or ricotta and chocolate. Today, I had the blueberry cheesecake in the form of a milkshake. The consistency was smooth and creamy as usual. They give you a boba straw with the milkshakes which are perfect for this milkshake because there were blueberry bits and cheesecake chunks! So good! My kids got GC's sorbettos and have yet to be disappointed with their choices! Service is always courteous and helpful here, which is consistent with their other locations. Someone said Gelati Celesti was very good. While chatting at a nearby restaurant the topic of dessert was brought up. I mentioned a relatively new business, Gelati Celesti. I pulled up their website and looked at their menu. Oh my. The flavors listed sounded amazing. Then I saw chocolate almond. When I was growing up High's ice Cream carried Swiss Chocolate Almond and it was my all time favorite flavor. Within 2 hours of leaving lunch, I walked in the door of Gelati Celesti for the first time. It will not be the last time. I have had to fight the urge to stop in the past few days. Their Chocolate Almond was so delicious with the creamy chocolate flavor, the bites of almonds, and whatever other delicious ingredients make this flavor so delicious. The staff told me this is one of their everyday flavors. I will be stopping in often. read more

Sophia and I headed back here for a 2nd go-around after attending for Yelp Elite week. We have never been disappointed with each visit so I knew it would be great as usual. And this visit did no different. Amazingly, we were the only customers which was surprising on a great summer day. We were immediately greeted by the lone worker behind the counter and got in line. Like before, the decor inside Gelati Celesti is spotless. Can't add anything else to that. When it came to choosing flavors, I happened to pick melone, which is a cantaloupe. Don't laugh, but I've never eaten cantaloupe so there was a little hesitation on my part at first. I actually saw this profiled by our Yelp CM Yoonie during one of her visits. After reaching out asking about the flavor, her response was "You never had melone?! Really?!! You need to try it!!' There is an old saying that we all know and I'm sure it's embetted in Yelpers' brains: you only live once. All I gotta say is thank you for the suggestion. It was very good and not too sweet. You can never go wrong with a scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone. One of the best flavors I've had at any location. Well, there you have it. Another fine visit to a great place. Thank you Gelati Celesti for giving us a scoop of your stretchy ice cream. I was too excited to eat my ice cream today that I forgot to capture everyone's ice cream. There was a line due to the grand opening but it was well worth it. They are located beside Vogue Lashes and Spa and in the vicinity of Urban Hotpot, off of Volvo parkway. The staff here, and the interior cleanliness was spot on. The decor and table seating makes coming here with groups a plus. I came with my party of 7 and we all were able to get good seating in their outdoor patio with my dog. My family enjoyed every every ounce of their scoop of ice cream, even licking their spoons. I loved my lavender scoop, we had the just ask, pralines and cream, orange crush sorbetto, and kettle corn. The staff were so friendly and even gave us a scoop for our dog to enjoy. This place stands out for their handmade italian style churned ice cream. With over 85 flavors they put out on rotations, you'd be surprised every time with new choices. I strangely I enjoyed the interesting pull you'd get from scooping your spoon of ice cream. It looks like taffy meets ice cream. Every time I dove my spoon into the ice cream, I had to wrap my spoon around my ice cream. There are several locations to this franchise. Three now in Hampton roads. There are two in Va Beach and the newly opened branch is now in Chesapeake. Gelato Celesti has been serving others since 1984, with over 7 location in Richmond, VA. Way to go!! I found this to be our new family favorite ice cream store. It looks like around summer time they will be opening their window walk up counter outside by their patio. Last Saturday the man and I were running errands down this way and after a delectable lunch at Krispy Krunch I was hankering a dessert. With there being so many new establishments along this road that we haven't tried I did a quick Google search and found Gelati Celesti. The man told me he wasn't interested in dessert since he didn't have any belly room. That all changed when he saw Kettle Corn gelato. It was an 'all she wrote' moment for him. He got his 3 scoops of kettle corn gelato in his Waffle cone. I, on the other hand, couldn't pull the plug on just one favorite so my 3 scoops were: Almond Joy (on the bottom), Banana and topped with Butter Pecan. The pecan was good, the banana was better but the Almond Joy was the star of my Waffle cone scoops. While it was very good ice cream/gelato it isn't what I would deem authentic gelato. We spent 3 years in Italy courtesy of the military and had to die for gelato. The young lady running the show was quite friendly and accommodating. As we were enjoying our dessert in the parking lot I noticed that not only did they have a walk up window but there was a water bowl for pets near the walk up window. I've been to the Gelati Celesti location in Virginia Beach and I was so happy to find out they opened one in my neck of the woods. My son and I came here on a Monday afternoon after he had a tooth taken out. Perfect right?! There was just one lady there and no customers. They had a good selection of flavors and free samples so I took advantage. I ended up choosing a scoop of their peach gelato and my son ordered a scoop of their chocolate peanut butter. He loved it! The peach was very tasty. You could taste the fresh peaches in it and it was not too sweet. Our two scoops totaled about $11 which to me is a bit pricey but we're still fans!
