La Hacienda Street Food and Tequila - Molcajete Azteca

La Hacienda Street Food and Tequila

We had dinner recently at La Hacienda Street Food and Taqueria located on South Military Highway…read morenear Battlefield Boulevard in the heart of Chesapeake. We were surprised by the wonderful Mariachi band playing. The food is consistently good here and because of that, they are often busy, so you have to be prepared to wait for a table. We like to sit at the bar so we are usually able to be seated pretty quickly. I highly recommend this wonderful, authentic Mexican restaurant!

Ahhhhmazing!! Since…read moremy first visit which was about two weeks week ago my husband and I just went this past weekend and my mom and I just went on this past Wednesday all three times were a 10 out of a 10. Thhe service is on point! The Ambiance is on point! The attentiveness the drinks I cannot complain! I'm a margarita girl and the Margaritas here did not disappoint especially their Ranch Water. My favorite here is the classic quesadilla and you can choose your own protein. The first time I chose chicken and this last time which was on Sunday I chose the shrimp and added some fresh jalapenos... divine! My husband loves the fajita tacos I think that's going to be his go-to meal When We Dine here. The parking not an issue at all plenty of parking it does get busy around 6:30 7:30 on the weekend and on Wednesday which is 899 fajita nights. Now I will admit you on this night in particular I did get the steak fajitas I wasn't a fan of them but I still tore them up! The quantity that you get for 899 super super duper:] So pack your patience if you come on one of the busy nights. Today being Tuesday as I'm typing this review it's Taco Tuesday so tacos are a dollar and 50 Cent after 5:00 p.m. so I'm sure this night is going to be busy. Nevertheless it's worth visiting and priced just right! Have fun and enjoy life :)

Came here after spending a couple of hours selling Girl Scout cookies outside the restaurant…read more.. For Saturday night dinner the place was packed. For my daughter and I we were able to snag a table after waiting about 10 mins. My daughter ordered the shredded chicken quesadilla.. it was a good size portion with lots of chicken inside. Her only complaint was that the dish was greasy... I went with the Chicken Fajitas. They were good as well. The chicken has a lot of oil in the pan which also made this dish very oily. The chicken was bland in flavor.. but they gave a lot of chicken for 1 person. The white sauce with the chips was the best. A few reviews say it was spicy.. but didn't taste any spice at all. The biggest complaint would be the ambience... it was very noisy and hard to hear someone talking to you. As well, for a Mexican restaurant, I didn't hear any music playing. Having visited hundreds of Mexican restaurants, I would rate this place between 3.5 and 4...

Very good Taco Tuesday specials but it will be packed for dinner!…read more The white dip is good and a little bit spicy (more spicy than other Mexican restaurants in the area). The majority of the other dinner options are what you would fine at other Mexican restaurants but they have a couple different items like a baked potato with chicken, and the option of scallops in enchiladas. The table side guacamole is a MUST try! The large margaritas are LARGE- 7/10 for jalapeño margarita, I wish the jalapeño was muddled a bit to really bring out the flavors of the pepper. I would also suggest a jalapeño infused tequila to take the taste from a 7 to a 9 or 10.

Waiter was quick to bring us chips and salsa and also take our drink orders. I tried their large Midnight Margarita (10/10) I loved the flavor and it was STRONG! For food, I was craving steak, and saw Steak El Amigo (10/10) on the menu. It was very flavorful, tender, seasoned, cooked exactly how I wanted it, and more than enough food for me. The steak was topped with cheese sauce, shrimp, fajita vegetables, peppers, and mushrooms. Also came with a side of rice and beans and tortillas. Def my new go to spot for sure. Already planning to go back next Tuesday, this time, to try some tacos and other drinks! My overall rate of experience : 10/10

Yikes! This was quite possibly the most disgusting meal I've encountered in a long time. Service…read morewas fine, but I was so sickened by the food that I will not likely return. We were sat immediately around 630 on a Friday evening. We received chips and dips before I could even sit down! Our server promptly greeted us and drinks were ready within minutes. So far, so good. For dinner, hubby had the Vegetarian E which came with a burrito, quesadilla and chalupa, daughter had the kids quesadilla with beans and I initially selected the shrimp bowl. Our food took about 15 minutes. Both quesadillas were barely warm and the cheese wasn't even melted. The refried beans were loaded with red pepper and too spicy for my child. My shrimp bowl was overwhelmed by cheese and aioli that I couldn't stomach it. Our server kindly let me order something else so I selected the shrimp taco salad. It arrived shortly thereafter but was also so greasy it made my stomach turn. 2 stars just for service. 0 for food. Overall, this meal was an unfortunate waste of $50.

Union is a seriously beautiful spot for dinner or drinks! The huge bar is definitely a centerpiece,…read moreand there's plenty of comfortable restaurant seating, perfect for groups or a fun night out. We started the night with drinks: I went for a cold Modelo, while my friends both ordered margaritas, and wouldn't stop raving about how good they were! For appetizers, we shared the Union Trio! Fire roasted tomato salsa, creamy guacamole, and queso served with crisp tortilla chips. All three were fresh and delicious, a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I mixed things up with a taco trio! Carne Asada (marinated steak, onion, queso fresco, avocado, cilantro), Chicken Tinga (marinated chicken, refried black beans, avocado, greens, queso fresco, cilantro) and Blackened Mahi (mezcal pickled onion, red cabbage, red pepper pico, chipotle sauce, cilantro). The blackened mahi was my hands down favorite. It was super flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My friends tried some awesome dishes too! One had the Coconut Curry Mahi (blackened mahi, jasmine rice, edamame succotash, with a rich coconut curry cream sauce) and the other had the Duck Confit Taco (with cherry salsa, pickled carrot salad, and cilantro-lime creme). Our waitress was phenomenal and definitely suggested great choices. If you're in the area and craving something a little more elevated than your average Mexican spot, Union is absolutely worth checking out. Great food, tasty drinks, and a stylish atmosphere!
