I went to Twisted Sister's for some cupcakes, but the cookies caught my eye. I got the red velvet, plain Jane, and lemon cupcakes and I got the sweet and salty, brookie, and chocolate chip cookies. It's about $12 for 6 cookies or $2.25 a piece. Some of their cupcakes are really good, but I just wasn't a fan of the red velvet cupcake today. I wish the frosting was cream cheese based, but it was more of a buttercream. It was still ok though. My favorite was the cookies. The chocolate chip and brookie were yummy, but the sweet and salty was my top pick. It has potato chips, pretzels, and other yummy flavors. They go fast so I'm lucky when I can snag one. The ladies who work there are friendly and the store is always clean. They sell cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other desserts. You can also order online. They no longer offer punch cards for orders, but they will honor them if you already have one. Check them out!!!
The best cupcakes in Hampton Roads! I've stopped by their truck at CHKD a couple of times now. Their cupcakes are perfect. Always the right amount of sweetness and bold flavor. My favorite is the red velvet. The staff member running the truck is always very friendly. I'm looking forward to trying all of their staple cupcakes and their featured flavors of the month!
For my birthday, my husband went all the way to Twisted Sister Cupcakes and Sugar Shack Cafe to get my birthday treats during his lunch break to bring home later that evening. He also cooked my birthday feast (I know, I'm a lucky gal!) When we were stationed here the first time, Twisted Sisters would come around with their cake mobile at my old employment during our lunch hour. My colleagues and I would run out like kids and ice cream trucks LOL. It's nice to see that they are still around and thriving! My husband came home with quite a heavy box of a dozen cupcakes, filled to the brim. The cupcake box fits juuuuuuust right (although the fondant horn on the Unicorn did push it over the edge and the unicorn ones did get a tad smooshed). The cupcakes were: Vanilla Bean or is it Birthday Cake? Death by Chocolate Red Velvet Unicorn Oreo Explosion Peanut Butter Brownie These cupcakes are a 1:1 ration of cake and icing. Although I am more of a cake girl, rather than icing girl, I must admit, the icing wasn't that bad! IMO, this is definitely one of those cupcakes where you should make the cupcake sammie (cut off the bottom half of the cake and place it on top of the icing). The cake was pretty dense, but airy, also moist and the icing was very fluffy. My fave was the one on the top left corner (see pic). It almost looked like there were two tiny donuts on top, but really it's a ball of icing, coated in ganache on a vanilla cake. The Oreo Explosion comes a close second and the Red Velvet was great too. I LOVE that it's not a cream cheese frosting! Nothing against cream cheese frosting, just don't think it has to automatically be paired with red velvet, ya know? Overall, great alternative to a whole cake. It was a nice birthday treat! we went to the twisted sisters store on virginia beach blvd. today, valentine's day 2026. we purchased a 12 pack of cupcakes for a valentine's day treat. we spent nearly $50.00 for 12 dry, stale and old cupcakes. we are extremely disappointed, as we've had cupcakes for birthdays from here before. in this economy, for stale, crumbling cupcakes (the dubai cupcake was filled with sawdust-like kataifi instead of pistachio butter), you're better off spending the $50.00 at crumbl. we will not be recommending twisted sisters anymore, nor will we be returning.
After leaving Iggles from a great lunch, my girlfriend and I headed here to check out some desserts to take home with us. But first, I'll run some brief history with Twisted Sisters. The very first time I ran into TS was at the Norfolk Chocolate Festival at The Scope where their food truck was present. Their main items were filled cupcakes. And after that, it was at summer festivals at Town Point Park. And lastly, their previous location in Virginia Beach where I used a Groupon. With every visit, I was completely satisfied with what they offered. Each cupcake tasted great and you definitely can't go wrong with fillings. On this particular visit, my plan was to buy some filled cupcakes but decided to buy other items. One was the Brookie which is half chocolate chip, half brownie cookie. The other was a bacon crack brownie which is a chocolate brownie topped with ganache, whiskey flavored marshmallow, caramel and candied bacon. Both items were truly worth it. The cookie with both combinations was soft and flavorful. You could probaby top it with a scoop of ice cream if you prefer. And the brownie.....truly to die for. Going here after lunch was definitely the right call. Till next time!
I want Carmelitas! But they don't make them anymore and that makes me so sad. However, the Twisted Sisters has a plethora of pleasing goodies to satisfy any sweet tooth (such as yours truly). The bakers here are as sweet as their baked goods, always pleasant every time I come here. They have a variety of different cupcake flavors. My absolute favorite is the mermaid cupcake, which also benefits CHKD. I just love that! At $5 a cupcake, they're a little pricey but worth it. The buckeye and Oreo cookies cupcake are also delicious. The only con is that they aren't open Sunday or Monday, so you have to get your sweet fix throughout the week.
Came here last minute for a cake and they happened to have one. Customer service is 110% perfect. The cake vanilla bean...200% made by angelic beings. Delicious. Thank you for making our sons birthday awesome. We will be back for that Halloween cake!!! Lori and Walt

I decided to do a cupcake party for my birthday a while ago because I loved them so much and ended up getting at least one of everything on their cupcake menu. Best choice ever because every cupcake tasted delicious. I especially like their minis because it's not too overwhelming and it gives you the chance to try multiple flavors. I've tried pretty much every flavor they've had and I think they do a great job with them, their cake is the perfect level of moist, and my favorite part, the buttercream icing is always delicious!! I went to their store in Virginia Beach once and it's a cute bakery with some room for seating but best to take orders to go. Their online website also allows you to order days in advance if you're planning for a party so that's very convenient. What's also great about twisted sisters is that they have several flavors that rotate each week and each month so they always keep things interesting and festive. You can even order cakes from them so the variety is appreciated.

The location is off VB Boulevard across from RK Chevrolet. Parking is directly in front and the walk up tidy. I tried their Chocolate Peppermint filled w/ ganache. This was one of four seasonal cupcakes during December. Paired w/ a house coffee. Fabulous! Twisted Sister can cater your event or bring their truck, just ask for details. They do offer a limited supply of pre made cakes in the case for purchase. Thank you to owner Ariel for the special attention.
Ordered a custom cake for my bday. Was reasonably priced and tasted delicious. Also exceeded my expectations for how good it looked! Everything came out great and it lasted the hour drive even with the heat. Highly recommend them and will definitely come back sometime. Thanks!
We stumbled upon this place as we were driving down Virginia Beach Boulevard one afternoon. We decided to treat ourselves to a cupcake and picked two flavors to try -- Key lime cheesecake and Oreo. I really enjoyed the Key lime cheesecake, it seemed appropriate for the season. It was a given my husband would pick Oreo (he picks Oreo everything). He liked the Oreo, but I thought the Key Lime was way better and not something I could pick up anywhere, especially since it incorporated a cheesecake component. The cupcakes were pricey for just two, $9.14 after tax. They do discount the price some for orders by the dozen and half-dozen.
I've been working with Twisted Sisters for years and love them! They're dessert & bakery is consistently delish & the owners are so sweet. They do cakes & cupcakes & cake pops for special occasions too! And they love to give back to the community I highly recommend for any special occasion or to treat yourself!
Every big celebration calls for a Twisted Sister cake! We celebrated our Hokie's graduation with a Raspberry lemon cake and it was a hit with all of our guests. They took all of our ideas and created a masterpiece! and it tasted amazing too. They were very quick to follow up and were patient with our emails. Ordering was painless and the pick up was perfect. It was packed great and made the trip to blacksburg with now problems at all. We will definitely be back to enjoy more cakes and cupcakes for all of our special occasions ( and just a sweet treat for any day too!) read more

I've visited the Twisted Sisters cupcake truck several times over the years, but this was my first time stepping into their brick-and-mortar location -- and it did not disappoint! The shop is absolutely adorable inside. The display case was full of the cutest treats, and the young lady working that day was so warm and welcoming. What really caught my eye was the variety -- from classic cupcakes to dog treats (yes, pup-friendly goodies!) and even custom dog birthday cakes. Love that they include our four-legged family members. side note doggies have to sit in the car not welcomed inside, bonus they offer goodies for the doggies. I came specifically for the Caramel Latte cupcake with espresso frosting, which is part of their rotating menu and only available through the end of June. The cupcake was incredibly moist and the espresso flavor in the frosting came through beautifully -- rich but not overpowering. I honestly should've bought two! A special shoutout for their charity cupcakes -- $1 from each goes to the Children's Hospital. Supporting a local business and a good cause? That's a win-win. I'll definitely be back to try their July flavors -- this place is officially in my sweet treat rotation read more

Went here to get a cupcake for my son 1st birthday to celebrate while at the beach. And WOW it was delicious. The filling was not too sweet. It was very moist even after a few hours after getting it. I will def come back. Shoot, I may have to drive 5 hours just to pick up a cake for him next year, lol that's how good it was. read more

This family owned/run business deploys a mobile operation that parks in front of CHKD (Children's Hospital of The Kong's Daughters) to provide campus employees and visitors with their weekly Thursday sugar fix. It's the ice cream truck nostalgia BUT WITH CAKE...who doesn't love butter, sugar and flour? The driver is the head baker's son! $3.30 seems steep for a cupcake but doing so in moderation makes it a once-in-a-while treat; best of all, this community minded vendor gives 15% of all sales back to the hospital. Nice! Lot of folks rave over the mini cupcakes but others shriek in excitement for the mermaid cupcake; it's a funfetti cupcake with blue raspberry buttercream icing, color airbrushed for effect. I'd recommend pre-ordering if you're interested. They accept cash and credit cards. read more

They have the best cupcakes in town! So far I've tried the Almond, unicorn, strawberry and blueberry cheese cake and each flavor was delicious. I'm not really one for super sweet icing on cupcakes, but the icing has just the perfect amount of sweetness. They are beautifully decorated; every cake has a special touch added to it that makes it look different. The cake is moist and cupcakes are on the larger side, which I really like. I've visited the truck and store location several times now and the experience has been consistently great, and cupcakes always taste fresh like they were made the same day. Theres a ton of flavors to choose from, which I love and also hate cause it's so hard to choose just one. I live about 40 mins away from the store but it's so worth the drive. They're so good!! read more

Did a custom cupcake sheet cake, half vanilla and half chocolate with a custom Rui themed design (from the Demon Slayer anime). I drew the design and sent them the photo, they replicated it exactly how I designed it. OMG they did not disappoint! They even got the lettering perfect by hand! Thank you so much! We had the pleasure of having a cupcake while enjoying brunch at Citrus. My bf deemed it the very best cupcake he had ever eaten. We had the unicorn cupcake. It was funfetti cupcake with cotton candy icing. Then icing was rolled in crunchy sugar which added a really nice texture element to it. The cake was fresh and moist. The icing was the perfect representation of cotton candy. I imagine this cupcake being the star at a young girls birthday party, but was equally enjoyed by my very adult bf. It was as whimsical looking as it was tasting. We look forward to trying more if given the opportunity :) read more

My lady and I decided to treat our sweet-tooth and stop by this place. When we walked in, we were instantly greeted by a sweet employee (pun intended?) who explained the "Flavors of the Day". The lady ordered 3 cupcakes, Death by Chocolate, Peanut Butter Cup and Birthday Celebration. I decided to get 6, three of the aforementioned, plus Red Velvet, Strawberry Lemonade, and Triple Chocolate Cheesecake. Last minute, I MAY have added a Bacon Whiskey Brownie (it was ok, as I kind of thought, the bacon was overpowering) We sat down to enjoy our coffee and couldn't help but realize how clean this shop was.
