05/06/25 - I stopped by here twice before. I was in the neighborhood so i met my sister up here for breakfast. I popped in again & ordered the Chorizo skillet. This came w/chorizo, potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, onions, shredded cheddar cheese & eggs over easy on top. This was all served over a large very thin tortilla. I tour off piece of tortilla & put the pieces of the chorizo skillet on top & popped it into my mouth. It was delicious as usual. My sister ordered a Greek Skillet that came w/chicken gyros, spinach, tomato, onion & feta cheese that looked delicious. The staff @ Cherry Pit Cafe is awesome friendly w/great service. The only thing missing was I was hoping to run into former Chicago Bear Matt Suhey again who I met the last time I was here. Great food, service and an occasional ex Chicago Bear

From the pictures it looked like a cute retro diner. The front has that look, but the back looked like a country cafe. Not what I expected. The food was good. But the service was so bad. We were seated and got to order pretty quickly, but they NEVER came back to check on us even once while we there. I tried to get anyone's attention because my partner had ordered a fruit salad with his omelette and it never came. I had the oatmeal pancakes which definitely were exactly as described.

YES-EAT HERE! Three of us ate here today and we all loved the food. The service was great too! Cute little diner with plenty of variety on the menu. We ordered breakfast, a Turkey Avocado panini and chicken quesadilla w/ house made tortilla chips & salsa. No complaints from any of us. Love a true diner with great food!

Great diner. Used to go here when it was Kevin's Place and went back recently with my family. Kids loved sitting at the counter to watch our food get cooked. I cleaned my plate. I ordered an egg white omelette and it was delicious. They also have cold brew which was excellent. Portions are large so come hungry. Owners now are so nice! Lots of regulars came by for Sat brunch. Ambiance is good, diner feel with black and white checkered floors. Will come back when I'm in the area.

This is a solid, no-frills diner. When I walked in, there was nobody else there but over the course of my meal, two more parties trickled in. The coffee left much to be desired but this is an OK option if you want something basic and fairly fast.

This cute cafe/diner is perfect for an early morning breakfast. We arrived before 9 am on a Sunday, the ideal time because there were many open tables. There's a pretty extensive menu, and one of us went for the Lucy's Waffle special, a crispy Belgian waffle with Nutella, bananas, strawberries, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Another picked the buttermilk pancakes (2) and kept saying that it was cooked perfectly. Normally a light eater, they ate every bit of their pancakes. I ordered the Greek skillet with eggs, chicken gyros, onions, spinach, tomatoes and feta on top of fried potatoes. This was hearty and generously sized. The ambience is similar to a retro diner, with fifties tunes playing. The staff is very welcoming and friendly and our orders were up quickly. It's a little tight to navigate past the counter seating and once the place fills up it can get loud. We had a very enjoyable breakfast and my companions had a great time. They kept telling me how much they loved their breakfast. We'll come back again soon!

Food was good and simple, gave me a sense of nostalgia eating chorizo and eggs tacos. It was a little crowded when we arrived but it was a small space with larger parties so it was definitely expected. Loved the service as all workers were kind!

Great service, great food, and fun "local" ambiance. It's a throwback to the small town diner where they know your whole family.

It was my first time visiting this spot and can say I was pleasantly surprised. Most breakfast…read moreplaces tend to jam in seats everywhere to make the most of their space and then it's a noisy, packed mess. Eggsperience is a big open and airy room in an antique white and light blue coloration making you feel at ease and welcome like a nice Spring day. We were seated at a table for four, but an additional person joined us and we figured we'd make room for five at our table. The staff insisted we move to a five-person round table despite them being busy. It was a nice sized table and gave plenty of room for five to six people, Our server was a lovely girl who was always coming by. The menu is huge and since we were all talking and having a good conversation, I never really was able to focus, so I ordered a traditional two eggs any style with meat and toast or pancakes. I got my eggs scrambled and dry, with bacon crispy and added diced potatoes (the ones that are just potatoes and nor peppers and diced onions), a toasted English muffin, and asked for a Diet Coke. She asked if I wanted Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Zero. PEPSI ZERO?!!! No one ever has Pepsi Zero. I said absolutely yes to the Pepsi Zero. So she brought me two mason jar mugs because she wasn't sure which was the Diet and which was the Zero. Apparently a staff member attached the two drinks to the wrong fountain heads and she wanted to know which I wanted. I was able to pick the Zero out fairly easily. How cool, Pepsi Zero. Anyway, we all got our food nd mine was made perfectly the way I ordered it. The eggs were made dry (not cooking with butter or oil), the potatoes were just roasted potatoes, the bacon was crispy, the English muffin was toasted (so my whipped butter filled in all the nooks and crannies - as they should do as advertised on TV), and the drink was Pepsi Zero! And our server was quick to replenish drinks. Plus, the cost does not break the bank. Many breakfast places tend to overprice their breakfast items. I wish I came here sooner. I't's easily one of my favorite breakfast places (easily in the Top 3). It was not just a pleasant experience. It was an Eggsperience (sorry, had to do the cheap pun!) :)

Ok place. Portions are huge - you'll never come out hungry. Nothing very special, though.read more

We've been going to Rise n Dine at least once a month, or more, since we "discovered" it. The…read moreservice is great, the food is very good, the atmosphere is for families, and they have a great fireplace in the restaurant. They do have monthly specials, but I tend to be more traditional for brunch. This time, I had a Carnitas Hash with poached eggs and fresh fruit. It was very good but honestly, it could have used a little more salt and possibly some hot sauce. Rise n Dine is a little more expensive than other brunch locations we go to, but they are so nice, we love going there.

WARNING FOR ALL GUESTS! The owner records and posts videos on his You Tube channel…read more There's no notification that he does it. MyRestaurantPOV is the channel name. The food is mediocre. My husband and I dined here. We ordered a burger and waffles with eggs and side of bacon. The burger was uncooked, nearly raw. The blood soaked through the bun making a mushy, unappetizing presentation. My waffles were ok, they are standard waffles. I ordered my eggs over easy and they came out scrambled. The bacon wasn't cooked completely so fatty and greasy. I tried to catch our server's attention, but she wasn't anywhere to be seen until it was time for the check. We've tried to give this place several chances as I like to shop at Fresh Farms, but each time the meal has disappointed. Then to find out the owner is recording for his channel sealed the deal to never come back. There's too many delicious restaurants around the area to put up with mediocre food, high prices, rude ownership, and poor service. Upside is that the restaurant is clean and there's a nice fireplace that some can sit in front of.
