These were the most horrible nails I have ever had. Fat and crooked. Whoever did my nails was implying that his disability to draw straight lines was my fault for "moving". Applied tips very crooked and said that it was my thumb. As soon as I got out of the salon I started crying so hard because these are just nasty and nothing like the inspo pic. If you make an appointment be prepared to wait while the owner bumps you for a walk in having a more expensive service than the one you are. My rating is based on my experiences with Michelle. I go to cherry nails just to see her. I normally do not go to nail salons unless I get my acrylics done. Being a hairstylist and doing nails myself my nails tend to get pretty banged up. Michell does an amazing job on my nails and offers glitter acrylics which I just adore. BIGGEST reason I go to her, She is super gentle and attentive to what she is doing. She doesnt hurt me and takes her time so my shapes always come out gorgeous and she is also super patient when I get nit picky about my nails. Ive been to other nail techs at other places and havent been happy when I walk out, im happy after every visit with Michelle. The salon itself is cozy and quiet. I do plan to get a pedicure there sometime soon too. Shopping center is sometimes a pain to get into but is in a great area to grab lunch after. read more

I definitely do NOT recommend going here. I'm only giving it 2 stars because they are truly taking precautions with hand sanitizer and checking your temperature when you walk in. However, the staff wouldn't even talk to the customers that were in there and they tried to tell me that I could only get gel polish because they didn't want customers "waiting around for regular polish to dry"....Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

While the staff is pleasant enough... they are significantly lacking in two areas... skill and language. If there was more manicure/pedicure skill - a language barrier would not be as important because a patron could explain what they want. Pedicure- $33 - no massage. Color application quality - Poor. Very poor. Had to take a q-tip at home to wipe the color off my toes. Color didn't cover side edges. French gel manicure? Just don't. I won't bore you with the details of the thick white edges that were way too wide. I asked four times for them to be made thinner to lots of quizzical looks. The manager stepped in to fix... still not getting there. I asked them to just stop and remove the base layer. The mgr took a buffer to my nails to take the shine off and then said, all done. I asked again to have wrap the nails to remove the base layer... she must have said thirty times, "Nothing there. Nothing. Nothing there. See? See? Nothing!" Saying it a hundred times doesn't make it true. I gave up. Left salon went elsewhere five minutes after leaving the salon and they took 30 minutes to peel off the base layer. I will NEVER, never, NeVeR go back. Saying that three times DOES make it true. Seriously... choose another place. read more

wanted gel polish coffin acrylics, was told 55$ but was charged 65$ and they are completely flat and not want i wanted. oh well. not sure it there was a misunderstanding but no place i've ever gone to has given me completely flat acrylics- there is usually the thick layer over the acrylics and they get shaped before painted. sad i won't have the nails i wanted for my birthday party tomorrow and i paid way more than i usually do :( read more

It would be remiss not to share my story. Yesterday I got my eyebrows waxed here. The wax was way too hot, burned me and the girl who did it nonchalantly remarked about the burn, saying I had thin skin around my eyes (who doesn't?). The pain was sharper than normal but I didn't quite realize HOW bad. By this morning my eye was puffed up like a monster and the entire eyelid drooped down, eye would only open halfway. I may need to even go to the doctor as my eyebrow skin has now peeled off. There is a red burn mark line all the way across my eyebrow lid. I called up to tell the manager and she unapologetically refused to give me a refund unless I drove all the way back and personally showed her. I told her I wasn't in a condition to drive as a result of my eye but still she insisted... I even had to take off work to ice my eyelid all morning... I returned to the salon during the early afternoon, and they rudely made me wait there for a good ten or fifteen minutes before the manager would even come out to take a look. She took one look at my messed up face and gave me my $12 refund (probably the equivalent of what it cost me in gas just to drive all the way back there, ugh)...thats the least she could have done, and thats all she did. And that was that. I did not raise a scene though it crossed my mind because I am outraged at the experience and the awful way I was treated about this afterwards. After my ordeal, I will never ever come back here again and will think twice about waxing all together. As of now, my eye lid is still drooping half way, is still very painful and I look quite the sight just before the holidays read more

All of their nail technicians do a really great job on pedicures and manicures. Clean facilities, comfortable pedicure chairs with plenty of massage settings and a welcoming ambiance since they redecorated. Recommend calling ahead to see if it's busy and make an appointment - I've gone last minute plenty of times and had to sit for a short wait. As you can see from my reviews profile, I don't give too many five stars, but this place definitely deserved my hard to get five stars rating. We do family manicures and pedicures for me, the wife and daughter about once a month and we do not go anywhere but here. We have tried plenty of salons from DC, MD, to NoVA in the past but have now made this our only go to place for nails. Everyone is so nice and friendly. They always treat us so well. They are very patience with my daughter and she loves the royal treatment. My wife loves the attention to details and the selection of nail colors. For me, I appreciate the cleanliness with the equipment, especially the tools. We tried a few other salons scattered up and down Maple ave, but sorry nothing comes close. read more

I'm torn, because did they do a bad job? No. They did a relatively good job, the place was clean and my nails turned out pretty decent. My two problems? Lack of communication and price gouging. This place is WAY over priced, $120 for a fill/color change and a basic pedi with gel color? Im pretty shocked. When a customer communicates what they want done in a specific way and the Nail tech changes the technique and doesn't communicate a price change/influx, that's when problems arise. So are my nails done? Yes. Is it a job worthy of $70? Eff no. Ritzy neighborhood or not, be fair in pricing and tell your clients when you're charging them more. I won't be returning. read more

Stopped by Cherry's a couple of weeks ago, and had to add a quick update. I had to bump the star rating WAAAAY up for them because of a recent development - Can you say "NEW chairs?' Oh, yeah, baby, that's right...Cherry's got hooked up with brand spankin' new pedicure/massage chairs, and they are AMAZING. Not to mention that the problems they had with the water temperature are history now. They can get it as cool or as hot as you like it, and that alone brings them all the way up to "top class" for me. Plus, even though there are several new faces there, the service remains consistently good. I guess for Yelp's sake, I could try out some new places here and there for variety...but WHY? read more

I went here based off of the great reviews that I read on here...either I went on an off day or my standards are way too high. (And I know for a fact my standards aren't high - I'm a broke college student!) My friend and I walked in and asked to set up an appointment, they said they could see us right then if we wanted, so we waited (for almost half an hour) The only reason I gave two stars instead of just one is because the girl that did my nails was very friendly. I was getting a new set of acrylics, she didn't do any work on my cuticles, and she hardly did any clean up. I had to ask her two more times to file and shorten the tips. There's huge chunks of glue along the inside edges of my tips as well... for $40 I expect a much better outcome. Oh and while I was waiting a woman who had been in there getting her eyebrows waxed came back in to complain because the tech had left big chunks of wax around her eyebrow. I don't even want to give them 1 star. Prices are very inconsistent. One week a manicure might be $25. The next time you go it will more then likely be more. Very unfriendly, the manicurist and owner only talk to each other and to make it very uncomfortable it is in their native language. Sorry, but if I am going to pay for a service I really would like to be talked to or included in a conversation. There is nothing worse then sitting for 45 minutes to an hour wondering if you are the topic of their conversation or the reason for their laughter especially after all eyes were on you moments before the laughter began. If you get your eyebrows waxed..... beware I got a VERY nice blister on my brow and eyelid. read more

A girlfriend and I stopped by here for a last minute manicure. The atmosphere and salon itself are quiet and peaceful and is generally quiet nice. The manicure's though were unfortunately not great. For $17 I wouldn't recommend it, I have had much better in the area for money. I won't return here after both our manicures, both done by different people, were less than great. read more

I called to make a pedi appointment on Friday and I asked what was the first available appointment the next day. I was happy when they said I can come first thing in the morning when they opened at 10am. When I came in they were not busy since they just opened so I was excited to get some clean and personal service. Things were going well for about 15 minutes and then some customers came in-apparently some regulars and all the sudden my person started to work faster. I felt like the service was being rushed. The end result-my toenails looked ok. I have had better for less. This place seems to value regulars more which I totally get but don't forget about the first timers who can be potential regulars! read more

I would not recommend this salon based on product quality and level of customer service. I went there for the first time last Sunday for a pedicure, which was fine--the massaging chair was rather uncomfortable and there was no ambiance, but then again she didn't make me bleed so not awful. What did happen was that the toenail polish on 3 toes got huge chips (almost peeling back) by Wednesday. Usually when I get pedicures I can make them last a month so there was something very wrong with how their product was applied. I went back today and explained this, but there was little customer service they still charged me $10 to reapply a different color. I won't be returning--plenty of other nail salons in Vienna for that price. read more

I have been going to Cherry's for the last 6 years or so. Cherry is the most experienced and the fastest nail technician EVER - she can do a mani/pedi in 40 minutes flat! She and her husband (who also does nails) are always attentive & kind as well as focused on doing a good job. On occassion, they have a "so so" nail technician or two - but even they can do a good job if you let them know what you want!! read more

I was told by a girl with very nice nails that Cherry's Nail salon is great. So I went the with my friend and we both had the worst pedicures of our lives. The lady who was doing my pedicure was so rough, and she scratched my skin with the foot scrub. Also instead of putting the nail polish nice and clean, she put it on in the most sloppy way possible and then tried to clean around the cuticles with her finger nails! not even a brush. I asked her to use a brush but there was still so much nail color all around my toes. My friend also had a terrible experience, which I won't get into. I visited this salon recently. The wait was over 30 minutes and when I walked in they told me it would be 15 minutes. However, they apologized and my nail technician was very friendly. They took their time (about an hour) for both my manicure and pedicure which I appreciated. The nail technician cut my nail bed/cuticle and it bled a bit. I yelped a bit and she apologized; it's still smarting. I hit my nails against the table on my way out and messed up my manicure. She was nice enough to touch them up. Overall, I give them a 4 for attention to detail but it's not a very nice looking salon, they did keep me waiting and I did incur an "injury". read more

I moved to Vienna about a year ago and searched desperately for a new nail salon. What a relief to find Cherry's! The nail techs are all fantastic- they are friendly and always do a great job. I have not had a bad mani, pedi, or gel nail. The whole place is clean and bright and they usually pump in some great 80's music (Mariah and Boys II Men anyone?). On a sour note (and the reason for taking away 1 star), with my newfound love for Cherry's, I thought I would try their bikini waxing services for my recent summer vacation. I get nervous about bikini waxes, but thier waxer told me to relax and seemed to know what she was doing. The process was quick and about the same pain level as a high end salon. However, the pain usually goes away after an hour or so. This did not. I walked like a cowboy for nealy 24 hours when -gasp- my enitre bikini line became bruised, red, and raw. This was also the day I was supposed to be in a bikini at the beach. After ranting about Cherry's waxing abilities for a while, I decided to post on Yelp so no one else has to have this experience. Bottom line, Cherry's does killer nails, but leave the waxing to the spas. read more

I have been going here ever since I used to work at Magruder's when it was still there. My sister and I are the biggest fan of Cherry's. Everyone is super friendly and does exceptional work. I went there today and got a mani/pedi and it looks great! I even messed up my toe and they fixed it when I came back a couple hours later an didn't even say a word. I get waxed there too and it's great to know that my eyebrows are going to look great when I leave. I would suggest them to anyone as they are the friendliest and cleanest Nail salon I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot! Definitely GO! 5 Stars Way up there! Love you Cherry! read more

I've only been there twice: the first time was fine BUT the second time, I called ahead and asked if I could get both a mani and pedi if I scheduled it for 6:30. The woman (Cherry, I believe) said that would be fine. When I arrived promptly at 6:30, the girls said I could get a mani but there wasn't enough time for a pedi. When I objected that I had made an appointment for both, they talked to each other for a minute, then asked if I was willing to have both at once. - I said OK, as long as they didn't ask me to put my hands in the shellac heating machine while my feet were in the pedi bath! They did get the job done, but I was getting my fingernails painted while one girl was on her knees painting my toenails at the mani station. The mani girl was working so fast she made me put four fingers at a time in the shellac machine, then both thumbs, all at the same time my toenails were being painted, involving body contortions and a rushed, somewhat sloppy, job. Obviously, if I make an appointment for service, I expect to be able to get that service, at that time and done in a reasonable way. Not sure I'll go back -- there are plenty of nail salons. read more

The salon is nice enough, I had heard good things but my experience was not good. I was so excited to get my nails done and from the moment I walked in there and said what I wanted, the girl helping me spent the entire time telling me to get gel nails. Even after I sat down and was clear with what I wanted she continued trying to sell me to the more expensive package. She hurried through the whole process and when she started painting my nails, another customer came in so she began rushing and doing a sloppy job, obviously to get the next customer. This was all so extremely frustrating since this was a special treat to me (I don't regularly get my nails or anything done). Then she told me the price was $16!! For a crappy manicure that doesn't even look good. I regret giving any tip to someone who didn't value me as a customer because I wasn't guilted into your overly-priced services that I did not want. Shame on you Cherries nails for treating your customers like this. This is not acceptable. read more
