3/17/25 Not a bad…read morelocation for this place, but not a very busy area either. This place is located next to Wed Spa, but Sky Energy Therapy looks a little more elegant. There is a second floor for possibly being treated for whatever ails you. From what I can tell, there are massage rooms on the first floor too. Unfortunately, when I stopped, by at around 5:05pm, nothing was stirring, not even a mouse. I called out to someone, but nobody answered. If everybody is everybody, then somebody should have answered. There for nobody is somebody's problem. Especially if somebody want to get paid...whether it is money or relief. Also, upon looking around I saw prices for elite levels of getting services done, but I would have liked to ask someone for clarification on these prices. Alas, no one was was home. I checked online to find prices for this business and found nothing either. Am I lucky or unlucky at this misfortune? I guess it doesn't matter now. The unlucky is nothing more than a frame of reference for the luck. So I won't waste time wondering what could've been when I am what could've been and what could not have been. I might try this place again, but putting their prices for services on a pamphlet or online would be most helpful new and old clientele. If you do have the prices listed, I did not find them on your websites for Yelp and Google. If you can make the prices easier to spot, it would be most helpful. Your new potential clients would appreciate it.

I had a bad mountain biking accident last summer and have been dealing with shoulder pain for months now. Went to see the doc who gave me Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and gave me 3 weeks of physical therapy could not help as much as this deep tissue massage did in just 1 hour. This is my second time back and I got the same excellent treatment as before. Not only does she know what she's doing, she's very good at it. She's also one of the nicest person you'll meet! *Part 2 Of 2* 9/22/23…read moreTHE MASSAGE: Since massage is best when nude, this is exactly what I did.  I lay on top of the new sheeting, because  was suspicious about the sheeting underneath the new sheet  laid out. It might have been clean, but I didn't take that chance.  I also do not stick my face in the massge holes.  This is a very good way to get sick.  I think so anyways. Kathryn waited about 4 minutes before knocking on the door before entering.   I wasn't concerned about draping and apparently neither was  Kathryn.   Kathryn started on my neck with a great amount of pressure. She continued this by working on my arms, hands and back.  What really impressed me was the Thai Stretching Kathryn incorporated into my massage.    Kathryn continued with the preliminary massage by stretching the glutes maximus, legs and feet.  When I say stretching, I mean stretching.   It is not for the weak of heart.  When Kathryn was done with the preliminaries, she started back at my neck and shoulders, but with massage oil.  The Massage oil is unscented so have no fear ladies and gentleman.  The massage pressure Kathryn applied to my skin was steady and consistent.    Kathryn continued massaging my arms, neck, back, glutes maximus, legs and feet.    Ordinarily I prefer to have me feet massaged last, but I didn't let Kathryn know this at the time. I will do so the next time I am here with whoever the staff member...no,...massage therapist.     Massaging feet is not always done at massage palors.  Same can be said for face and head massage. This doesn't seem the case for Massage Joy:) The feet, legs and glutes maximus massage were the best part of the massage for me.  Whether on my stomach or back, Kathryn spend more time on those areas because I asked her too.    If there was any tension in the gluteus maximus, legs or feet, Kathryn eliminated this problem. Kathryn finished how she started the massage.  Kathryn did the Thai Stretching again and finished with the massage slaps I have experienced at so many other massage palors. If there is a more professional name for these massage slaps, I can think of it right now.  I don't feel like looking it up right now either. AFTER THE MASSAGE: Kathryn used a hot towel to remove some of...,  no,...a lot of the oil that was applied to my body.  I like to keep some oil on my body, but this time a little to much oil was used. Nevertheless, I think Kathryn (who might be the manager/owner of this establishment) did a fantastic job.  I do feel cleaning the oil off the walls might...will help improve the look of the business.   This is just one room I saw, but it left an impression on me. The bathroom looked neat and orderly; as well, as smelling "so fresh and clean, clean." From what I saw of the layout of the business, the employee hang out spot is straight down the hall from the front desk.  There are 4 massage rooms and the bathroom is on the left hand side past the first massage room on the right. In case I didn't say it,  Massage Joy is located on the second floor in building 241.  Very close to Sugar Spa.  A two minute walk away...if that long. I know I will try this place out at least two more times.  I love Thai Massage incorporated with the Swedish/Deep Tissue Massage. Generally these days I count myself as both fortunate and unfortunate that I lack the energy or need to argue; but likewise, I am not so quick to offer a swift and harsh response against the most mild of slights. And likewise, I am fortunate enough to find many to most businesses are reasonable; either in avoiding bullshizzle, or in rectifying bullshizzle. With that said, this spa is no different than any other in terms of quality of product. My primary reason for coming here in the past was due to location only. However I have noticed with each and every time that the service has steadily become worse and worse. This review is not a knee jerk reaction to one experience, rather it is the culmination of four or five occurrences. So I beg your understanding as well as your attention when I proffer the advice to never patronize this establishment. To subsidize prices that are increasingly going up and that are murky, think of gym memberships that have hidden or alternative fees, this business offers a club/subscription model. When you think about how much you would have to patronize this business to actually save anything, not only would you actually be spending more but you might feel compelled to go in extra just to "make up" money that you are ultimately going into the red for. But ultimately that is a buyer beware problem. The crux of my umbrage today is due to the fact that I, having been solicited at great length to opt into the membership, decided to comply. I was assured that the fee would pay itself as I would receive a complimentary massage on my birthday. As my birthday is in January, I purchased the package in April of 2022; and sought to redeem the gift just now, in January of 2023. In having booked the appointment over the phone, I informed the operator that I had intended to make use of my gift massage. She confirmed and noted such transaction. Shortly thereafter, she proceeds to text me and tells me that I have surrendered my gift because my membership had elapsed more than one year, resulting in me having forfeited a gift I never used. This person then tried to solicit/extort additional money by asking me if I still wished to have a massage under regular/member pricing. I told her that my membership could not possibly have elapsed because I purchased the subscription after my birthday of the previous year, and given that my birthday had not yet occurred at the time of booking the appointment (or even at the time of writing this), I was still privy to further member benefits. After a substantial delay, the operator got back to me and acknowledged that "she made a mistake". Cue monumental eye roll. Huge strike, but hey, I can laugh off a good attempt at a shakedown hustle; however BS it is; as many people indeed do not watch and monitor their subscriptions. Onus on the customer eh. So they call me back and then proceed to text me a few times here and there, doing this whole song-and-dance of confirming and being fake apologetic, smoothing me over. I insist it's all good; just looking forward to my birthday/gift. Nothing to the contrary is uttered for over a week. Fast forward to the day of my massage, they tell me that they are actually not an operation and that I need to reschedule. I tell them no big deal, just set me for the same time a week later. Most are really selling sexual services, and can be very demanding with tips, grungy and dark. I had to visit several places looking for one that is professional! At Lucky you're covered with a sheet most of the time and they only uncover what they are working on. I like that because it doesn't feel so exposed. Temperature is good, no ceiling fans blowing. The price is reasonable at $70. With the bad economy and high inflation, it's a miracle to even find a place this reasonable. The only annoyance I have, if you can call it that, is that it can get busy and the cell phone vibrates a lot. The music might mess up every once in a while. A polite word of caution: Very little English is understood here. I have never found this to be an issue, and suggest to be clear and upfront with what you want. Liu will take great care of you.

The massage afterwards was ok but not the best I've had. I told the masseur I had asked for deep tissue and he said he doesn't do deep tissue and usually isn't at that location. And then asked me to stop talking (but I was asking for the modality I asked for!) - the whole time he was quite rude and clearly distracted. Won't be going back. Note: yes I am aware different therapists can make the experience different but quality control has to come from the top. If you have to bring someone in as I asked for a male therapist, then don't just get someone who is bored / unhappy to be there, and makes it known to the client that he is not into the massage and got called in last minute about 3 hours before. Coincidentally 3 hours before is when *i called Prince salon and spa to confirm my appointment, the timing makes me think they forgot my appt and planned late. There were wet sheets piled on the floor, a foul odor, and containers of food on the counters. I called the business phone number because I couldn't find anyone & the person just said "you will have to keep waiting." I've never had such terrible customer service and seen a massage studio that unsanitary.
