I was in a rush and she got my nails don't in less than 20 min and still had time for the filing and hand massage! Truly she was amazing and they came out looking spectacular. I called Nothing in Between at Tysons Corner Center today regarding a previous nail service issue, and unfortunately, my experience with the owner, Jade Kim Trusso, was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. When I called, Jade answered the phone and initially informed me that management was unavailable. She asked where I was calling from and stated that she would take my number so management could return my call. I explained that during my last visit, management had advised me that I could return to have my $80 nail service redone at no charge due to issues with the original appointment. I did cancel one follow-up appointment because I was not feeling well, but I was told at that time that I would still be able to reschedule whenever I was ready. During my original appointment, my nail technician was switched at the last minute to work on another client, and a different technician completed my nails instead. Unfortunately, the replacement technician was a new hire and unable to properly execute the French manicure I requested. I politely expressed multiple times throughout the appointment that I was unhappy with how the nails were turning out, but the same mistakes continued to be made. Since there were no other technicians available to assist, I allowed the service to be completed. In addition to being dissatisfied with the quality of the nails, I also did not receive basic finishing services such as lotion or a hand massage. At the time of that visit, I spoke with the manager on duty, who acknowledged my concerns and advised me that I could call back and reschedule a complimentary correction service whenever I was ready. However, during today's phone call, Jade informed me there was actually a two-week limit to redeem the redo service. I explained that this policy had never been communicated to me previously. She initially stated that she would "make an exception this one time," but after briefly placing me on hold, she returned and denied the service altogether. What was most upsetting was the way I was spoken to during the conversation. Jade claimed that "every time" I visit the salon I have complaints, which is completely untrue. I have no idea where she gathered that information from. I never complain about services and only raised concerns during my last visit because the quality of the work did not reflect the price paid. Rather than handling the situation professionally, she became dismissive and told me to "find another nail salon." Afterwards, she hung the phone up on me. I was also confused by the inconsistency in communication throughout the call. At first, Jade stated that she was not part of management, but later identified herself as the owner of the business. As someone who values professionalism, communication, transparency, integrity, and respectful customer service, I found the entire interaction deeply disappointing. I understand that misunderstandings can happen, but customers should still be treated with honesty, courtesy, and respect--especially when attempting to resolve a prior service issue that management had already acknowledged. I truly do not believe I did anything to warrant the dismissive and disrespectful treatment I received. Regardless of whether someone is having a difficult day, professionalism and basic customer care should still remain a priority. Unfortunately, the customer service I experienced from the owner was poor, unprofessional, and left me feeling completely disregarded as a paying customer. Jade was very rude and left me sad and in tears after the call. I've never been this mistreated before by any business/business owner. I have never encountered a business owner who seemed so unwilling to engage with a client, take accountability for concerns, provide solutions, or make any effort to preserve the customer relationship. I have supported this business for quite some time, have always been kind, and consistently tip when I did receive good service. To be clear, the gentleman's service was nice and I had a good time. If you're a guy who wants something basic but decent and wouldn't mind paying a bit more for it, go for it. Vibe was chill too, and thankfully two hours of parking in the garage makes it easy to visit. But they undid my partner's acrylics without warning. In fact, when she let them know she has them, they acknowledged and then proceeded to work on removing them anyway. And since they're a "non-toxic" salon, they handwaved it away saying they couldn't fix it. It's unfortunate too because given the price paid, if they had at least asked her if she wanted her acrylics gone before proceeding to unglue them, she would've backed out of having her nails done and we would've enjoyed our time otherwise. But instead this happened and there was no effort made to make it right. I wasn't keen on raising a fuss after I mentioned that it "could've gone better if they hadn't removed the acrylic without asking" and they didn't make an effort to make it right, so I ended up just paying the bill. If you're doing anything more than basic work and especially if you already have anything preexisting you'd like to preserve, avoid this place. There really will be nothing in between them and your nails, whether you want it or not. Worst part was, it was her birthday. --- Edited to add before/during/after photos (before and during were impromptu, so they're not the best, but they were the day of) showing the outcome as well as an image of their listing where they certified that they do acrylics, which was why she picked them in the first place. So to see that they advertised acrylics and then claimed they don't do acrylics after ruining hers boils my blood. I was able to make an appointment online easily for the day and about the time I wanted for gel manicure with nail art. They request that you send your inspiration prior to the appointment via email. There is a parking lot right next to the building that has 2 hours free parking. I didn't know about this and took an Uber to avoid having to look and pay for parking. The place was very quiet when I was there, as if you can hear a pin drop. There was music playing softly but other than that, like I said very quiet. They did a great job with my nails. The lady who did my nails even asked if I wanted to change the color because the design I had was hard to see with the dark color I selected. I still went with the dark color. My only negative comment is they need softer hand towels when washing your hands. The place is pricier than my usual places but it's a nice place to try. read more

After months of clutching a gift certificate like it was a winning lottery ticket (because second baby mom life), I finally made it to Nothing in Between -- and WOW, was it worth every second of the wait! Khulan was absolutely magical. She gave my tired, "been-chasing-a-toddler" and "feeding-an-infant" feet the best pedicure ever, using Dazzle Dry polish that looks gorgeous and is healthy for my nails. Don't let Khulan's petite stature fool you, the foot massage was something to write home about. I'm pretty sure I saw a tiny angel when she hit the perfect spot. The salon was super clean, peaceful, and a total breath of fresh air. Everyone, particularly the manager, was so friendly -- it felt like a mini-vacation without having to pack a diaper bag. I used to come here a long time ago then stopped, recently decided to come back. I got a regular pedi and a gel mani with a simple design and the nail tech was amazing, so kind, the experience was great. But, after just one week the gel started to peel. Another strange thing is that on the website for nail design it says it costs $0 and just accounts for the time but I was charged for it even if it just did two fingers? I thought it was strange but didn't want to argue especially since it was closing time but this definitely discourages me from doing it again - it was my first time doing nail design. Considering how expensive the gel mani was, the application was great and the first couple of days it looked so good but I am disappointed that it only lasted 1 week. I might as well have done a regular mani. I don't recommend getting gel. Highly recommend the pedi though. If I were to come back it will only be for a gel pedi to be honest. Kate did an amazing job with my gel manicure and nail art! This was my first ever time getting nail art and it turned out beautifully.

Well, I wanted to love this place, but there are a few not so small issues. Unfortunately, my experience was less than desired. I was not greeted in the salon. I waited at the front for about 4-5minutes, and I had to walk to the back to look for someone to help me. There, another technician opened a door where several salon staff sat in a small room chatting it up and snacking. I received no apology for the inconvenient wait or fact that I had to seek out service. I was also not offered water or any other refreshments that the other customers were offered. The nail technician assigned to me was friendly, but she seemed to have trouble explaining their menu of services, as I was trying to switch from a regular pedi to a gel pedi. I felt my pedicure was extremely rushed and not thorough. I also noted that in their web site, the salon claims not to use the UV lamps, but my technician used the UV lamp on me. This was one reason I chose this salon--allegedly non toxic and no UV lamps! Especially since it was so expensive and there were so many inaccuracies as to what's claimed on their web site, I do not know if I will return or recommend it to others. They purport to be a relaxing sanctuary, but the chairs are way too close together for relaxation. There's not even a semblance of privacy or luxury in that sense. Their decor is nice and invokes a sense of calmness, but the level of service I received blew that it all away. I walked in rushed, but relieved to be there and excited for my self care session. I left disappointed because I expected much better service than I received. I also left wondering why I was treated differently from what they advertised. UPDATE: My nails looked great and I was happy with that outcome. Unfortunately, not even a week after my service, the gel had already started lifting at the cuticle and catching my hair. Amazing salon, very clean and thorough manis and pedis! It's so refreshing to walk into a salon and not have a whiff of that pungent nail polish odor. There's plenty of ventilation and fresh air! So relieved there are pedicure jetted foot tubs and instead foot baths are in portable wooden basin. It's so much more sanitary. It's a bit chilly at the salon and they gave me a fresh clean blanket. The pedicure exceeded expectations with hot stones, thorough scrubbing, a hot towel wrapped around my legs and feet. With the mani, the technician very carefully removed my cuticles and wrapped my hands in warm towel. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the technician checking in on how the service was going and if I wanted an extra coat (which wasn't needed, 2 coats was more than enough!). The pedi took about an hour while the mani took a 1/2 hour. The standard Zoya nail polish (didn't pay an upcharge) worked wonders as my nails were surprisingly perfectly dry in 5 minutes. My biggest pet peeve with getting a mani is that nail polish ALWAYS smudges at the salon, but not this time! The top overcoat added a nice sheen. After Day 3, my nails were still perfectly in tact. While $80 for a mani ($32) & pedi ($48) is a bit steep and a bummer there's no duo deal, it was worth every penny. A glass of champagne would have elevated the experience (maybe after Covid ends?)! Super relaxing and really enjoyed the mani & pedi, looking forward to coming back in a few weeks (crossing fingers for that glass of champagne)! read more

Went here for a basic mani and pedi and, while the salon has such a nice, clean aesthetic, the prices are absurd. I paid double what I would have paid at any other salon, but the services were nothing extra from what you would get from a conventional salon. I would have expected them to at least offer water/a beverage but none of that happened. Additionally, my nail tech wasn't particularly friendly and seemed quite annoyed when she noticed that I required my builder gel to be removed (which I did indicate in my service booking). While I personally had a horrible experience here, the other members of my party had a wonderful time. For a massage here, I think it's very important to be vocal about what you want/enjoy and to over communicate. Also, it's important to note that these are deep tissue massages not a Swedish massage! Even though I asked for light pressure (this is only my second massage) the massage therapist was very tough on my knots. I was almost in tears the entire hour despite voicing my pain. I was told it hurt so much because I have so much stress there. The other people in my group said it "hurt so good" so if that's what you want/need, this is the place for you! If you're like me and are a massage newbie, I'd look for a different place that offers relaxing massages. I did really enjoy the calming atmosphere, the friendliness of the employees and the tea/treat after the massage. read more

I absolutely loved NIB when they first opened in Falls Church and really wanted to support Jade and her business. Unfortunately, the service started going downhill and I stopped going all together because I found more skilled nail technicians at other salons. I recently moved closer to this newer location in Tysons so I wanted to try it out since the salon looks so nice on social media. I booked a gel pedicure for $75 but ended up paying $95 since I was charged $10 for gel removal and $10 more for the magnetic color that I chose. I wasn't paying too much attention to what the technician was doing since I was listening to music and checking my emails. When she was finally done I looked down on my toes and was so disappointed at how sheer the color turned out to be. I would have expected her to check with me and see if I would have liked an additional coat (looks like she only did 2 coats) but she didn't. There was nothing "magnetic" nor holographic about the color, sadly it just looks like I have clear polish with glitter on. It looks even worse under natural light where the glitter doesn't shine at all. Upon closer inspection, I also noticed that she didn't completely remove the white gel polish that I had on my big toe. So I paid extra for a gel removal that wasn't properly done and then extra for polish that could've been nicer had the technician bothered to put on an extra coat. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed and felt that I overpaid for the service. She really didn't care and barely put in any effort. I also pointed out the white polish on my toe to the front desk person after she asked me how did things go. But then she completely ignored me and proceeded to ring me up as if she didn't hear me at all. It was so awkward. I liked how clean the salon is and also their gel polish selection, but is it worth $95? Unfortunately, no. read more

The ambiance is so relaxing and bright. This is not your average nail shop, be prepared to get pampered like a modern royalty! My favorite secret is the massages with Eric (ahhhhh!) the private area for massages transports you into a mode of relaxing. Don't forget to add on extra treatments. Thank you to Nothing In Between Studios for allowing my friends and I to spend a morning relaxing and celebrating new motherhood. With the pandemic still raging on, I often find myself second guessing myself whenever I spend an extended period of time indoors that is not deemed a necessity. At Nothing In Between I feel like I can let my hair down a little bit because of their COVID transparency and absolute rigorous attention to safety procedures. Not only that, their nail techs are extremely skilled, personable, and hygenic. It is the reason why whenever I have the chance to treat myself, Nothing in Between is my first choice to go (plus their online booking system makes it SO easy!). My friends and I booked triple pedicures. When we arrived we were led to their back pedicure station which felt like our little private oasis of calm. We were the only ones there so we had a chance to catch up and relax. The leg massage nearly had my eyes rolling to the back of my head -- it was that good! The interior of the studio is larger than Falls Church but still maintains the soft girl aesthetic that it is known for. One of my favorite parts of the experience is browsing their front shop of candles, books, bags, and other giftable accessories in the front! The studio is vented and they have are committed to using non-toxic products which is a plus in my book. Hope to go back and experience one of their massages in the future! After having my first daughter, in between the sleep deprivation, and shouldering of responsibility with a newborn while operating on minimal reserve - I had the opportunity to experience a massage service in the new Tyson's location. Let me just say: Eric has magical hands! I booked the deep tissue massage, and between nursing and constantly carrying a newborn on one arm while operating everything else with my other arm -- he fixed every knot I had. The enhancements are a MUST. I selected the head massage as a add on enhancement and felt like I was transported to a place beyond space and time. As if all of this was not enough, I was greeted with some refreshments and a delicious warm sweet tea afterwards with a customized card. Mama's this place is for you. I haven't stopped referring it to all of my mama friends who needs a "me time" day! Holding to their non-toxic standards, I will always trust their selection in nail polish brands. Especially now that my daughter often grabs my fingers/places everything into her mouth, I am even more conscience of ingredients exposed to her. I am male customer who has visited the Tysons facility for over a year now. The facility is immaculate and the staff is absolutely charming. The front desk staff are delightful to chat with, and 100 percent engaged. I am able to have the same technicians assigned to me at each visit and they recall the options I prefer with each service. I had been looking for a place in the area to get a massage and I am so happy I found Nothing in Between Studio! They have a range of massages offered along with a membership that I signed up for right after my treatment because I loved it. It was very easy to book online in advance - I was also able to complete all of the intake forms prior to arriving so that by the time I got there I was able to just relax. There is a parking lot just steps away from the entrance of the studio. Even though the parking lot charges the studio will validate your parking so you don't have to worry about any fees or trying to find street parking. When I arrived I was asked to wash my hands in the restroom, and then my masseur, Eric took me to the massage room. It was your typical candle lit room which is to be expected. The nice thing was that since the studio is new, everything felt very clean and the room had modern finishings such as a rounded wooden floating shelf to place some of your smaller items such as rings or glasses. The massage itself was great. I have had some massages in the past where it's just the same exact repetitive motion, but Eric was great at not only maintaining a flow throughout the massage but also focusing in on my knotted areas. Once the massage was over they guide you over to an area for Korean tea and sweets, and then once you were all set you went to reception to pay. The nice thing was that you could either add tip to your charge, or you could even Venmo so next time I won't have to run out and get cash before I head over. This is not your rinky strip mall nail salon, this is the real deal spa! The pedicures are thorough, soothing and done with care. The manicures are meticulously performed with high end products. The massages included in each service are not rushed and performed with the right amount of pressure. Aside from all this amazingness, theres the joy and sweetness you receive from everyone working here. My mom speaks very little English and instead of being frustrated with her they were caring and loving. They even held her hand so she could walk from the pedicure chair to the manicure chair without slipping or falling. When I was getting a standard pedicure I was cut so badly that the bleeding continued even when I got home. The person doing my nails even had to get a first aid kit from the front for my wound. Even when the manager knew the first aid kit was being used she didn't come to check up on me or ask how the services was. The gel manicure was also not worth the price. First off, I love NIB overall. I have come here for a few pedicures and wanted to try the massages for a long time. Finally, last week I jumped the gun and scheduled an Allay Massage with Eric. He was phenomenal! I truly felt like my back had been fine tuned after his work. As for the ambiance, 5/5. This is not your typical salon/massage place. The minute you walk in everything is calm and quiet. It is as if you have entered another world. The staff is always so friendly and highly accommodating.
