She tried to order a drink (her ID expires that next day because of her birthday) and our server was really weird about it. He refused service and didn't even wish her a happy birthday. It felt like the service and customer connection was lost because of the fear of a sting? Totally understandable, but a simple "I'm sorry I can't serve you because your ID expires tomorrow, but happy birthday!!" Would have been totally acceptable, instead he was rude. This restaurant/bar is huge. It is located in the shadow of Coors Field. They have a huge patio area that is out in the street in front of the place and a huge dining area. They also have a lounge area by a fireplace, a couple of private sections, a full bar with seating, and an arcade. There are a bunch of televisions around the bar and dining area for patrons to watch and music playing throughout. You will find a to-go area in the front on the bar as well. I loved their huge aquarium that they have in the middle of the floor and the arcade has skee-ball, pop-a-shoot, air hockey, pin ball, a huge Space Invaders wall, video games, a cut and win booth and a photo booth. There is also seating in the arcade area too. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They place is very hip and trendy. They have a menu full of pub favorites and parking garages/lots nearby. Even though it is a big place, I can see it getting packed before and after a ball game on a nice day. They also have a full bar with signature cocktails and a huge beer list. They run daily specials so, be sure to keep an eye out for those. I sat at the bar and ordered the 303 Green Chile Relleno Burger with a side of steak fries. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was warm, fresh and tasty. My burger was full and unique. I got my fries with the black pepper seasoning, which I highly recommend. I was on a tight schedule and managed to make it in and out of there in less than 45 minutes. This is definitely the place to be, especially on game day. Located on Blake St & 22nd St near Coors Field. We were introduced to this spot while on a 'Food Tour', and we had to return to try other food items. It's a pretty big & spacious restaurant with a bar & arcade section, such an awesome place to hang out and have a good time. The restaurant is clean and organized with a good ambiance. Restrooms are clean. I liked their opinion to 'Build your own Burger' even it's size. I tired their 'Little Cricket Burger' which consists of 1/4 lb meat, Pickles, Lettuce & tomato...I added grilled onions & BBQ sauce with half order of 'Onion Rings' accompanied with a 'Coco Mango cooler' cocktail, all tasted delicious and very satisfying. Shout out to our server, Maggie who was very attentive and helpful with the menu. She made sure we were good the entire time. I would say that these are hands-down, the best burgers in Denver. We had several of their award-winning specials plus a couple of build your own and of course they're famous frings ( fries/onion rings), and everyone walked away happy. Their ranch is homemade and terrific and I found out this visit that you can put pork belly on your hamburger which I'm super sad I didn't know before I ate my meal, but will definitely be back and I will definitely be trying it. The wheelchair accessibility at this location is actually really well done. There is wide path of travel. The doors are generally light and there's plenty of seating options throughout the entire restaurant. They have stair lifts to get to the higher levels and grab bars in the bathroom. The bathroom sink is a little weird and the front door is a little heavy. They also have some arcade games which were a fun way to end the night. All in all 100% worth a stop if you're in Denver. read more

Finally, I was able to try this place after hearing about the burgers for years and was not disappointed until the end of the meal, which I talked about at the end of the review. Beyond that, it's a beautiful location across the street from Coors Field. It's a classic contemporary bar/restaurant. The beautiful 360° cylindrical fish tank when you walk in is an instant eye-catching display! A raised bar area with tables and street view seating was very nice. An addition seating area next to a nice arcade area is a fun addition. The menu has build your own burgers and some other classic bar food choices. The servers and manager were extremely nice and helpful! We started with drinks and chips and queso($9). The Witches Brew($11) is a tequila and grapefruit drink that was very tequila heavy and also very good! The Samoa($15) is a coconut rum based vanilla shake with chocolate and Carmel swirls. It's also very good!! Very rich! The queso is meh. Nothing really special, kind of taste like it's just jarred pre-made queso. Chips were fresh and crispy, though, with a good amount of salt. Next, we had the 983 Big Cheesy burger($16.50), which was loaded with mac-n-cheese, jalapeno cheddar cheetos, a fried poblano pepper, bacon jam and American cheese! One of their most popular burgers for a reason!!! It's delicious! The right amount of spicy, not too hot, and the jam is a sweet little backer for all the flavor! I ordered it cooked medium and it was perfect! A rare feat for restaurants these days, it seems! We also had the Vera Cruz burger($16.50). A 1/2lb patty topped with bacon jam, crispy onions, pepper jack cheese, and a garlic aioli. It was a lot more savory than the 983 burger. It was also cooked perfectly! It was a very good burger as well but was taken over the edge when adding some BBQ sauce to it!! We also had the Frings - a combo of onion rings and fries($8.50) and a half order of fries($4). Both the onion rings and fries were awesome! The onion rings were perfectly battered and cooked! Crispy and delicious! The seasoned fries are cooked beautifully, too! Crispy and flavorful, and neither the fries or rings come out overly greasy!! We also had The build your own burger with fried onions, gluten free bun, cheese, and bacon, came out to $20, and a half order of steak fries was $4.50 as well. The burger was very good, the GF bun was meh... kind of dry and fell apart, but what can you do. A couple of negatives that I came across is that they charge $1 for a small little side of BBQ sauce, $.75 for a little side of Honey Mustard, and they also charge a 3.5% service charge, which they say is to provide increased wages for non tipped employees. I hate this! When they bring you the check, they just come and tell you the total and don't give you a breakdown or tell you about the surcharge until after you pay and request a receipt! To me, this is kind of deceitful and sneaky. I'm not a fan of surcharges and especially ones that are hidden from you! It was a disappointing ending to an otherwise great meal. 2-cocktails, an appetizer, 3 burgers and fries came out to $110. An expensive lunch for sure, but the food was very good! read more

One award-winning creation was the 303 Green Chile Relleno Burger, made with a burger patty topped with melted white cheddar, pork green chili (a stew of lean pork chunks and peppers), and a chile relleno, which was actually a fried rectangular croquette made of white cheese and chopped green chilies (rather than a traditional stuffed pepper). For my burger patty, I chose the lean and meaty Colorado bison. We ate at the Cherry Cricket on Monday on a non Rockies home game, so the place wasn't to busy. We sat at the tables by the bar and the first thing everyone who got sat up there the floor was so sticky. Not sure if was dirty or that's just how it is even after cleaning it, but was a little disturbing. Service was great. We were waiting on our friends so they wanted to make sure while we were waiting for them we didn't want to place any appetizers etc. The burgers were cooked to our liking and love their onion rings. Absolutely horrible experience! Tried to sit in a section, told there "wasn't a server". Ok, moved to another section with guests at tables, again told "there wasn't a sever for this section." Mind you, each of these areas are within a few feet of one another and the rest of the restaurant. Restaurant lost $200, and the server who couldn't walk 5-feet lost $50. Tried to talk the manager and he said, "what's the problem? They told you we don't have servers and walked away!?" Place was fully staffed. Servers everywhere. Friday evening. We get that places are short staffed and we have no problem with waiting, but to tell us flat out it's not a available while other people are sitting there is ridiculous. Good job Cherry Cricket. Never again! Also, we're traveling and this was our worst experience in Denver!! Great environment to pop in and grab lunch or a dinner. Casual environment with a large dining space. Bar is great for hanging out or watching spirts. Staff has always been good, with the exception of a couple waiters over the years. What gets me is that everyone raves about their burgers. Always see the "best burger in Denver". I feel like over the years they have stopped focusing on their burgers. Last few times, my burger has been dry. Instead of addressing the burger, they seem to find more and more crazy combinations of toppings, while the burger patty itself suffers. When I first moved here, I was a big fan of the burger of the month, but now they seem to come up with total gimmicks with chips. Either that or a total stoner is pitching ideas that are total dudes. I grew up in Colorado and have such fond memories of downtown Denver. Downtown used to be such a special place where you could go to a baseball game then enjoy the rest of the evening at one of the many restaurants. After last night's Rockies game we decided to stop by the Cherry Cricket (Old Breck on Blake location). The four of us went up to the bar and ordered four beers with waters. Yes, we actually all ordered water with our beers. Anyway, when we went to order our second beer the bartender said just so you know this will be your last one. We all looked at him completely dumbfounded. We were being cutoff after two beers with a water on the side. We're all in our late forties and not one of us was drunk. We talked to the manager who agreed we were not drunk but said he had no choice but to support the decision of his bartender. It turns out the other female bartender who served the first round made the decision to cut us off after two beers. I'm 49 and this is the first time being cut off at a bar. The bar was not even close to being full which is insane because both the Rockies and Broncos had games. I really miss the old lodo but sadly won't be back. Experiences like this remind me why downtown Denver is such a sad place. I really have no idea why we were cut off other than maybe we were older than the clientele she wanted at the bar. I hope the owners of Cherry Cricket read this and she gets fired. It's a nice restaurant and they have a very bad and unhappy employee. She will continue to treat their customers this way unless they do something. Clearly we didn't leave a tip on the four drinks. read more

This restaurant is really nice because it can accommodate large parties, there's a bar area and an arcade area for adults. I did the build your burger option on the menu. I had a bison burger, which was really good, but I did not like pricing of the food. The entire menu is Al la carte, which adds up really fast. However, I was not a fan of the steak fries, I felt like they were just undercooked potato wedges. We also got pretzel bites for an appetizer. Our server was really good and attentive!
